To celebrate the holidays, we recently tried Felix for the first time with friends. They are big fans of Bites Asian Kitchen + Bar--located a few doors north--the Bites owners also happen to be the owners of Felix. You enter through a front room with a long bar before moving into the main dining area, which is lined with large windows. Warm wood paneling and colorful graphics give the space an inviting, energetic feel. Our server was excellent--friendly and attentive--and both the owner and a manager stopped by during the evening to check in, which was appreciated. Felix has an extensive cocktail menu, and servers were busy delivering trays of beautiful drinks throughout the night. I ordered the Windy City Sunset mocktail, while my husband chose the Smokey Old Fashioned. Both were very good. The food, however, was more of a mixed bag. We started with the meatballs for the table; unfortunately, they were overcooked and hard, and even the marinara sauce couldn't save them from being dry and unappetizing. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, which was delicious and generously sized--easily enough for two meals. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan with a side of pasta and found the chicken somewhat dry. Our friends ordered a pasta dish to share, though they didn't eat much of it while tending to their very well-behaved six-month-old. While the bar and dining room are attractive, the bathroom was a major disappointment--dirty and unkempt, especially considering it was early in the evening (around 6 p.m.), not late enough to excuse the condition. The owners and staff are genuinely kind, and the menu shows a lot of promise. At the moment, though, the food doesn't quite live up to what they're serving at Bites. I hope Felix can work out some of the inconsistencies and find success--it certainly has the potential. I would like to give Felix 3.5-stars, but Yelp does not accommodate this option. read more

I brought a large group here for a work dinner because of their versatile menu. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations since I'd heard nothing about them since they opened. But we were able to try a lot of different dishes and there are some serious gems on the menu! Side dishes were the standouts here: the Mac and cheese, roasted potatoes, and Parmesan fries were addicting. The spaghetti croquettes are unique and tasty, though ours did not come out hot. The elote wedge and Caesar salads were a hit. I thought my chicken vesuvio was not very good - it was altered too much from the classic dish for my tastes, and the chicken was dry. I was pleasantly surprised and I would not hesitate to someone looking for a solid meal! read more

This restaurant has really cute interior decor and quite a full menu! Unfortunately, I had to rate 3 stars because our service took a very long time and most of the food was just fine. I originally ordered the lamb burger, but they told me they had sold out. The Burrata appetizer was absolutely delicious! However, our entrees were alright. First timer! Visiting my brother for the weekend:). He suggested this place due to the appetizers and entrees. We started with Crab Rangoon $13 and Shrimp De Jhang $16. Both were very tasty but the Shrimp was oh so delicious!!! You get 6 shrimp and 6 toasted sourdough crostini. For the entree, I ordered Elote Wedge w/chicken. My brother ordered Crab Cakes and Roger had Lasagna. Let's say the Elote Wedge was delicious! It is not the typical Wedge. As you see, it's served on a platter. Sorry, I ate most of it before taking the picture . The Crab Cakes, mashed potatoes, and asparagus were tasty. The lasagne was spicy but delicious. Run don't walk to visit this restaurant and try their food. I came here as apart of a special sponsored event, however I purchased a glass of red wine and wanted to highlight their Happy Hour menu. This place has Happy Hour with a range of appetizers, cocktails, wine and beer for discount prices. The Cabernet that I tried was delicious and from California. I was surprised that it had a sweet element to the finish. Happy Hour is done correctly here, any appetizers on the menu are served full size. The bar is sexy, but you aren't limited to the bar. The HH is done for the full restaurant. Stop in for a discounted drink and appetizer and then stay for dinner. You won't be disappointed. read more

Stopped by on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised to see that they had a GREAT deal going on, $25 for an entree and side. The portion size is big enough to share (and we still had leftovers). The only down side is that the lasagna and eggplant parm were just okay. The lasagna didn't seem to have any ricotta or any type of cheese aside of what's on top. If it wasn't for the marinara sauce at the bottom of the plate, it would've been too dry as it was just layered meat and pasta. read more

We were sat really quickly and the waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered the chilaquiles and the Caesar salad with a chicken cutlet. The waitress warned us the chilaquiles were spicy and oh my gosh they were spicy but really delicious! I wish they had a few more toppings but overall they were very flavorful and the eggs and beans were good! The Caesar salad was my favorite! The owners of BITES recently opened this nearby spot...and if you know BITES, you know this will also be a huge success. They redid the Hutch space to make it more fun, funky and contemporary. It wasn't super busy but we went on a weekday and anticipate they get busier as the good word gets out. We went on the same day they obtained their liquor license so while they were serving, it was just the basics. I passed by before and thought it looks nice from outside. Inside was even cuter! The service was great. Everyone was friendly and kind! I liked how the food didn't take too long even though the restaurant was decently full. We got picanha, Denver and Caesar salad for food and mango spritz and Felix 75 for drinks. Everything was relatively reasonably priced and portions were generous too. No it was not the best food I've had but definitely one of the best sub $30 steak in downtown. This place opened at the end of May 2025 and it has been a great go to for their food and happy hour! The happy hour drinks are very well priced and they have a handful of happy hour plates you can share with people. We had the Lasagna, Parmesan Fries, Calamari, Mac n' Cheese, and Caesar Salad. Update: still recommend and we'll keep going, but had a weird experience today. We came in for happy hour and had a couple drink and apps. Happy hour ended shortly after we got there, and then that same menu had a list of daily specials so we ordered a couple more things. Then when the bill came, those extra things we ordered that were on the daily special were charged at full price. I asked about it and the waitress said that you can only take advantage of one special offer in a day, so because we had those happy hour drinks we weren't eligible to order special of the day items. Just annoying and a little a scammy because 1) that limitation isn't listed anywhere on the menu and 2) the waitress didn't warn us or even offer to match the daily special pricing this one time. We ate here on a Friday evening. They seated us right away, which was great. It was crowded, so we had to wait for our waiter. That took longer. My husband had to flag them down since they were busy. The place had many tables and lots of people, but it wasn't so loud. We were able to have conversations. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer, which was delicious. Stopped by Felix's on Saturday for a late brunch. Was a little sad they didn't have a brunch menu but the restaurant is brand new and will have it up in the next couple of weeks. That being said, we ordered off their lunch and dinner menu and the meals were very tasty. We got the elote salad, burrata and Rueben. The sandwich was probably one of the best Reuben's I've had in the city. The elote salad was also perfect. I was disappointed there were no brunch items but still giving a 5/5 for everything else. We went to Felix for Sunday brunch with a reservation at 11:30. I immediately noticed the decor which I liked. The DJ was on point with his 80's and 90's music selection. The music was all familiar to me, so I found myself singing along to all the songs. My brunch companion had the goat cheese scramble which he enjoyed. I went with the smoked salmon flatbread which was delicious. The bartender threw down making my Bloody Mary. It was just the right amount of spice and garnished nicely with olives, bacon, celery and a tomato. Do yourself a favor and dine at Felix. I just had the best experience at Felix! The service was amazing. We didn't want for anything all night. Our server came to the table the perfect amount of times, and our water was always full. The food was so good. I got the 1871 burger, and I gotta say, I think it was one of the best burgers I've had in Chicago. So juicy and a nice kick of heat.
