Our server was great, even if the kitchen was quite slow. He was friendly, attentive, and apologetic for the massive massive delay from the kitchen between the appetizers and the entrees. The ambiance is very dim - they're clearly trying to copy Gilt Bar, Armitage Alehouse, and Trivoli Tavern (especially Trivoli Tavern), though those are all Hog Salt properties whereas Beaumont's isn't. It does feel kinda like a copy though of those places which is weird. Ultimately, the food is all good; I'm not sure I'd say great and it's definitely not value. But there's a lot to like on the menu Focaccia - the mornay sauce was great and the focaccia was good French Onion Soup - I've had better, I think it's the veal broth that had a little different flavor profile than I expected, it was thinner perhaps than expected if that makes sense. Like it should taste thick but be thin; maybe I just can't describe it. This is such a cool spot in a beautifully renovated historic building. The space is very dark and moody, which I personally loved but it is definitely on the darker side, so something to keep in mind if you have trouble with low lighting. We started with the Crispy Brussels Sprouts with fermented hot honey, lime and garlic aioli, and these were INCREDIBLE. Easily some of the best brussels sprouts I've had. The hot honey gave them the perfect amount of sweetness and heat. The PQB Sourdough & Burrata with fig mustard jam, baby kale and Spanish olive oil completely exceeded my expectations. The combination of the burrata with the fig mustard jam was so good and every bite was incredibly flavorful. Definitely something I would order again. For the mains, we got the Vodka Radiatore and the Orecchiette Al Pesto with taleggio, pistachio and grilled mortadella. Both pastas were really good, but the vodka pasta was the standout for me. The radiatore shape is my favorite for vodka pasta and is perfect for the sauce. I also had the Bee's Knees cocktail, which was great, and our servers were all so nice and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, I really loved this place and would absolutely come back. For the price point, the food was mildly disappointing. I was sharing with a group so perhaps I ended up with particularly uninspiring bites, but I would hope that a single dish wouldn't vary so much that an experience was dictated by where I took a bite from. My general impression of the food was under-seasoned and charred to the point where it was distracting and verging on tasting burnt. The service and ambiance were excellent though. The vibe is moody and lively, although the music was noticeably loud and we had difficult conversing in our booth. Since the mussels came in a larger bowl, they got cold faster than most and there were quite a few mussels that didn't open up, indicating that they may not have been the freshest. Beaumont's is here to stay. An homage to the original dive bar, I think John & Paul have this place in good hands renovated, sleek, and modern with nice woodwork and a bar that invites everyone to come sit down for a drink or a meal. Started with the escargot and every bite was savory, the fresh lemon juice on top elevated it and I wish I had taken the extra bread they offered because there was plenty of butter left to be consumed. For the main I went with the steak frites the 10oz flatiron cooked to perfection. Tender, flavorful and the butter kicked it up a notch enhancing every bite, easily one of my favorites in the city. The fries held up too, not a soggy bite in sight and the ketchup and garlic aioli made for great dipping. Closed out with the sticky toffee pudding warm, soft, and fluffy in the middle with dulce de leche gelato that brought it all together for a sweet, cool finish. Good in every way. Service was the standout though. My bartender Ryan and barback Mike were on point from the moment I sat down, never let my drink run dry and stayed consistent throughout. Awesome food! 3 of us walked in on a Saturday night, and even with it being packed they tried to accommodate us as quickly as possible. We only waited ~10 minutes for a table, and that too we got to wait by the bar. I got a yellow jacket, and my friends got the Hugo spritz. Our cocktails didn't even make it to us before we got seated. We got the ricotta gnudi which comes with 10 pieces- so a pretty big serving! Our waiter tried to sell us on getting bread to "soak up the rest of the sauce" but you do not need to do that. It was absolutely delicious, as was the sauce. The gnudi were so pillowy...and I've tried to make this before (and failed) so I really appreciated the dish. The sauce was so great with it, everything just melted in your mouth. There was not a drop of that sauce left in the dish which is why I say that you do not need the bread- there's just enough for the gnudi. For our entrees we got the vegan risotto, mafaldine, and the vodka radiatore. Vegan risotto- holy moly WOW. the smoky mushrooms with the creamy risotto (which I never would have guessed is vegan) pair amazingly together. Truly delicious and great mouthfeel. Not mushy at all. Mafaldine - also wow! The lobster broth with the spices was insanely good. So flavorful and delicious. The mussels and shrimp paired so well with the pasta. The noodle soaks up the sauce so well...can't describe it any other way than so good and you have to try it. My main complaint wasn't the service, but our particular waiter. It felt like the rest of the staff was more attentive than our own waiter. He was weirdly pushy on getting bread which we did not want. After our appetizers, we had to wait quite a bit before seeing our waiter again. We ended up having to ask someone if they could find our waiter for us so we could put in our entree- but instead they said they can put it in for us which worked out. After that our waiter stopped by to let us know entrees are on the way. After finishing our food we wanted to see the dessert menu- which it took quite some time for that to show up. Even if we wanted dessert, our appetite was gone for it as we easily had to wait 20+ minutes for our waiter to come ask if we wanted anything. By this point any hopes for dessert were gone and we asked for the check which also took quite some time. We were here for 2 hours and it felt like we spend 1/3 of that time waiting for our waiter. We also saw him being very attentive to other tables which rubbed us wrong. The food was so good, and Its definitely a great date night spot. The service by most of the staff was good, I hope they can iron out any kinks in the coming months. I would definitely come back! **note: the cocktails we had ordered- we were asked to provide a credit card for it to start a tab. We were told this would follow us to the table. When we got the bill the drinks were not on it, we weren't sure what happened to that bill as we never signed for it. Blown away by Beaumont's. Seriously every single dish was so good, no misses. The restaurant is dimly lit and spacious. I can see myself coming here for many types of occasions. We had a girls night and ordered about half the menu. They have something for everyone - pasta, chicken, steak, plenty of appetizers and salads. The bottle of rose our server recommended was outstanding and they made me a great aperol spritz too. We ordered the Parker house rolls which were so light, fluffy and buttery, and the focaccia with caramelized onion fonduta. The actual focaccia was fine but that onion dip went so hard. That oniony cheesy goodness would make anything better, and we dipped the Parker house rolls in it too. Brussel sprouts are a must order - they do them so well. For the main course we got the steak frites (perfectly cooked, so tender and flavorful), the roast chicken (killer chicken dish), and the vodka pasta (seriously order this!). We were celebrating a few of my friends, so naturally we had to get every dessert on the menu. All were amazing. I loved the crunchy toffee and ice cream on the sticky toffee cake. I like mine with a touch more sauce but that's a minor complaint. The creme brulee was a textbook rendition. The profiteroles were the perfect texture and temperature and I liked the combo of pistachio ice cream with rich chocolate sauce. Do yourself a favor and eat at Beaumont's. Honestly had a terrible experience here. They were out of the first 4 or 5 bottles of wine we ordered, which is very disappointing for such a high end restaurant. Eventually it was too embarrassing that they had to keep running back just to end up empty handed, so we just asked for anything they DID have. Service was slow and unfriendly, and on top of that they gave me the wrong entree. By the time my actually meal came, everyone was done so I just asked for it to be packed up. After a $1,000 bill, not a single thing was comped. The place itself is gorgeous and beautifully done. Also huge shout out to the very nice hostesses who were very professional and smiley (Alexa, Ava, and Jordan). The bartender was very nice and gave us a run down of the menu and what they were most known for as well as his personal favorites. We started with the French onion soup and 48 hour focaccia which are both made in house, the French onion with a 50 hour veal stock which especially stood out to me (this might have been the best French onion I've ever had), but the focaccia and its dip were incredible as well. For dinner, we split the Amish Chicken as well as a side of Brussels Sprouts and both were incredible. I was walking home the other night, hungry enough to convince myself I deserved "just one drink and a quick bite." Then I stumbled across this place. Walking in, my first thought was, "Well, this is nice." Beautiful space almost like a modern Gibson's had a stylish baby with Armitage Alehouse. I was told they've only been open for two months, yet the place was packed for a weekday. Now, let's talk about the service, because it deserves its own standing ovation. The support staff was phenomenal. Water glasses were never empty, plates disappeared almost before we finished them, and everyone seemed genuinely engaged. The server spoke knowledgeably about the restaurant and performed well throughout the meal. Whoever is running the front of the house--the service director, the general manager, or both--deserves a round of applause. They reminded me what good service felt like. The overall vibe, cocktail program, and even parts of the menu felt very familiar... almost like Armitage Alehouse's long-lost cousin. That's not necessarily a criticism--more of an observation. I wish it was a bit different.. We ordered several appetizers. Every one of them was good. Not bad, not amazing--just solid. Nothing that made me stop mid-bite and text a friend, "You HAVE to order this," but nothing I'd complain about either. Then came the entrées. The chicken was unfortunately very salty and lacked much else going on. The other dishes were solid enough, again nothing outstanding or creative just solid.The chicken was the only real miss of the evening. Dessert arrived, and I couldn't help but laugh. Sticky cake. At that point I thought, "Okay... are we fully committing to the Armitage Alehouse comparison?" I'd still give the crown to Armitage Alehouse's sticky date cake. Overall, this is a good restaurant with decent-to-good food and genuinely outstanding service. If I'm coming back tomorrow, it's probably because of the service more than the food--and that's not a bad reason. The kitchen still has some polishing to do, but you can tell there's real intention here. They want to become part of the neighborhood, and with a few tweaks, I think they will. My surprise 60th birthday with family. 5 Adults and a 17month old. Was super excited to go and try the restaurant. Since, I met my husband there 37 years ago. I wanted to spend my celebration with my family where I had meet my husband and this all started. Had reservations Beaumont was aware it was my 60th B-day and that my husband and I meet there. When I arrived they did mess up and gave it away that my family was already at the table That was okay. When we were ordering drinks the table down the way decides to change their baby diaper on the booth at the table so we had to smell the babies dirty poopy diaper nobody said anything to them. Yuk!! Fyi. There is no high chairs available for little ones. After our dinner reservation at 3pm and it now 4:30/45 and everyone was wrapping up and getting ready to go most of the table was using the washroom while I was sitting there with the baby. And the matri D came up to me and told me that he had someone waiting for our table and we needed to go. First of all you don't tell that to the birthday girl and it just ruined my whole dinner. The food was just okay, very expensive. If the maitre d was observant at all he would have noticed everyone was getting ready to leave, we paid our check, three people were in the bathroom I'm sitting with baby no chair so it was pass the baby to who evers not eating at the moment. It's too bad, I was really hoping that is would be our anniversary spot. I will always have fond memories of the bar probably will never go back to the restaurant.
