Oriental themed bar. Delicious Happy Hour drinks. I had the matcha martini. Very delicious interesting combination. The yuzu chicken wings tends to be more on a sweeter side. The crab Rangoon was good. Vegetable spring roll must have. Friendly staff. A must try. read more

Nice cocktail bar with food and fast service. We sat on the patio and got drinks within 5 minutes. The cocktails are great. This is a more upscale experience and the price reflects it. Bumpin music and lively crowd. In my fiancé's words, he calls wangs "Zany, robust, timeless" Ps the scent of crab rangoons from other tables will make you order some too. read more

Went for happy hour! $9 cocktails from 4-6! I got the old fashioned and my friend got the coco moquito. Both were delicious and had really complex flavor profiles. The atmosphere in here was so cozy. I loved how they had decorated for the holidays and had nice soothing red lighting. Will definitely be coming back to try the small bites and more cocktails! read more

Wang's is more than just a bar--it's an experience, and that experience is all about the ladies and the drinks! From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was stepping into a cozy, hidden gem with an effortlessly cool vibe. I tried the crab rangoons and fries, which were solid. The fries came with a unique wasabi sauce--an interesting twist! Not mind-blowing, but definitely tasty. But let's be real--the true stars of this place are the incredible women behind the bar. They are sweet, endearing, and make you feel like an old friend from the minute you sit down. Their energy makes Wang's feel like a second home (with really good cocktails). Speaking of which, the drinks are phenomenal--crafted with care, balanced, and dangerously easy to sip. If you're looking for a spot with great vibes, strong drinks, and the kind of bartenders who make your night unforgettable, Wang's is it. Can't wait to come back! read more

Stopped into Wang's for a Lychee Martini after happy hour. It was definitely a very busy night for them, as always, but they still provide good service, especially delivering drinks quickly and getting you in and out if that is your plan. They have a cute outdoor patio too, Wang's is always busy and I guess for good reason! read more

Right next to Wakamono, Wang's is a cute bar with some tasteful decor! It's giving red light district in Amsterdam and I'm here for it. The bartenders were attentive and quick to make some amazing drinks! I had the Tiger's Blood, it's a gin-based drink! Light, crisp, and refreshing! read more

Wangs has become one of my favorite spots for a spontaneous drink (although I always order the same thing haha). It's usually pretty crowded but we've always had luck with a table. The drinks are really good and quite unique. My go to drink is the ginger martini. Listen, I am not a martini or ginger girl BUT their ginger martini is heavenly. The only reason I cannot give a full 5 starts is because it is not the cleanest (floors are always sticky throughout the bar). However, I do understand that it's a bar and people spill drinks esp given how tight the space is. read more

So cute inside and great happy hour. Love the lighting and even better in the summer!!

Stunned after a Sunday evening here. Completely deceptive practices regarding happy hour and pricing. completely deceptive practices regarding happy hour and pricing. Our party of five arrived at 5 pm and informed the server we were excited to be there for happy hour and proceeded to order drinks. and proceeded to order drinks. We mentioned multiple times that we were there for happy hour, and asked to have our drinks timed so we can take advantage of the half off drinks until 6 PM. Service was not the usual staff, and was lackluster at best. We had to ask for water three times, with two separate people having to go up to the bar to ask for our waters. The bar was not crowded at all, drafty, and with the cold service from the staff was not a good experience. The bar was not crowded at all, drafty, and with cold service from the staff was not a good experience. To top it off, the bill arrived and it was almost $500. They proceeded to tell us that what we ordered was not on the happy hour drink, special menu. You would think that they could've mentioned that anywhere along the way in the hour we were there and kept referencing we were there for happy hour. Everyone in the party felt that they deceived us intentionally, and took advantage of us. It was a birthday dinner, it was meant to be a special event and WANGS has lost not only the business of the six people, we were also intending to go across the street to ping-pong, which would've been substantial revenue on a cold Sunday evening but after this debacle, we decided we had had enough. It is the neighborhood locals that keep bars and restaurants in East Lakeview open. it is the neighborhood locals that keep bars and restaurants in East Lakeview open. Will this review alter the overall revenue of Henry Chang's businesses? Doubtful, but there's definitely a crack in the dam now. We will be referring this to the liquor commission, , and letting everyone we know that there are other options for happy hour in our neighborhood. we attempted to discuss with both the server, the and met with complete denial. What a shame, they would've been happy with $250 on a empty Sunday evening, but by pressing the issue, they have lost far more than what they have gained in this instance. read more

I went out last week with my friends and we had a great time at Wang's! The vibe is great; I love all the Asian decor and the bathrooms are so gay (iconic). If you go, definitely get the pear martini. Ask for extra pear slices. They soak up the vodka! So nice to eat once your drink is done. The chicken karaage is great, too! read more

Stopped in later on a Saturday night. The place is pretty small and the service was very slow. The drinks were just alright despite sounding great on the menu. We did not order any food as their kitchen closed at 10:30pm. Overall, I'm not sure I'd be back. read more

We just stopped in for a unsuspecting drink, and the ambiance of this place is amazing. It's so cool inside. Dark moody and well decorated. Just go! Go for a date (early; 4pm- 6pm). Go with friends for some evening cocktails! Go because you are interested in tasting some unique drinks! Just Go! Wang's has one of the BEST espresso martini's you will have ever tasted! Perhaps just one will do, but you will return for another! There is no absolute favorite to mention because the whole drink menu has been ingested on numerous occasions! When they are busy, don't trip! Whomever is working the "head of the house" commands the space EVERY time and service is great! Yes, it gets busy, but duh! Enjoy! read more

great happy hour great vibes great drinks great crab rangoons great lakeview east location

Great cocktails and speedy service. As another review mentioned, it doesn't seem like the cleanest place. I also thought the seating was uncomfortable. The decor inside is cool, but it's not a place you can stay and linger. Not only is the seating uncomfortable; I felt like the server was not only rushing us but other tables as well. I understand it's busy, but I think you have to let people enjoy and finish their drinks. read more

I really love Wang's. The cocktails are tasty, innovative, refreshing, and pack a punch. My go to is the Grey Gardens which satisfies my penchant for tea-based anything. The servers are such a dream, so kind and attentive, charming and sweet. The decor is campy-kitschy-cool and all that warm lighting flatters everyone. Not sure if it was just an off night, but we didn't love our drinks. I got a lychee martini which is pretty standard, and it wasn't great. It was strong at least! The geisha drinks and Mai tai also fell flat that evening. I'd be down to give it one more shot I think. Seating isn't great but I won't hold that against them in such a small lounge. Our server seemed frazzled but who knows, maybe they were short staffed that evening. read more

Came in with a date-ish and left without a paycheck-ish. Man, this place is expensivo. Drinks here start at around $10 and go sky high depending on what you ask for. Our tab of three cocktails came to $55, not including tip. Dark lighting, super loud music, and even more dark lighting. Packed by seven, so get here at an earlyish hour. It's a super nice little bar with barely any signage. read more

My new favorite spot! Loved the food - gyoza, tuna, and wasabi fries. These straight up tasted like McDonald's fries with better seasoning and sauce. The drinks were so big and delicious! I'm obsessed with the interior and the vibe of this place. It's like 1970's kitschy Chinese-American. The drinks are delicious (and strong!) and we liked every small plate that we tried. It's intimate and casual and has a couple nooks that you can tuck away in and feel like the bar is smaller than it is. It's pretty pricey though, that's the only thing keeping it from being a five star experience. If I lived closer I would be there often to take advantage of any happy hour deals they have. read more

Ambiance is nice and drinks are okay! they do have cheap happy hour with good service but drinks are okay

This place is cool. Definitely not what I was expecting. I walked by there today and there was a sign for $6 happy hour. I'll have to return for that and for some grub. 2009 is turning out to be festive and glamorous! Wangs is no exception. Utterly cute bar that looks like the inside of an 85 year old Chinese woman's jewelry box. If that Chinese woman happens to have gay porn-ish flyers stuck inside said box. That said, this place is a gem. The "martinis" (there is only ONE drink that can rightly be called a "martini", but I'll indulge) here seemed like a bargain at $8 - they were expertly mixed and artistically garnished. My Ginger martini had a long, springy lemon twist and a couple of chunks of ginger - besides being delicious. And - bonus - ginger aids digestion! The Pomegranate martini, enjoyed by others in my party, had a gorgeous orchid and lime slice to offset the red color - beautiful! I'll try that next time. It got a little crowded with diners from the restaurant next door, but once it cleared out, it was really nice. I could imagine myself in a tight-fitting satin cheongsam here, dagger-like red nails clicking my glass. Sitting at the bar nursing a cocktail, and waiting for Tony Leung, like something out of a Marguerite Duras novel. Hm. I'd have to dye my hair black, but you get the picture. read more
