Great local watering hole! Fun atmosphere, good food, good service. It's my go to place for a burger and a beer!

Came here on a Monday night with another person to grab some drinks and some simple food. Because it was an 80 degree evening in April, it was a no brainer to find a patio and was fortunate that this place opened up their patio since it was busy out. Got a few beers and ordered a buffalo chicken wrap which was good, but wasn't juicy enough in my opinion. The service was great throughout our meal and we were happy with the overall experience. Very great food and the service was fast. I thought the drinks could have had less ginger but given it was a Moscow mule, it wasn't bad. The burger had plenty of onions which I love, and their ranch is great. Pleasantly surprised by the mini corn dogs, but they were delicious! I love how each table is lit up with a mini candle, and it really adds to the "date night" atmosphere this place gives off. Plus they have breakfast available until 5pm! read more

Nice neighborhood bar vibes with interesting decorations. But not so neighborhood bar prices. First thing that stood out was the steep pricing (ie $12 for a corn dog). Waiter was nice, quick and efficient with orders. I do feel bad reviewing a bar solely on the food so if you decide to come here just have drinks and hang out here but eat somewhere else. Wings Maple Buffalo and BBQ Wings are on the small side especially for the price. Western Burger /w sweet potato fries They say burgers come standard cooked medium but both burgers ordered came cooked well done. They even over cooked the sunny side up egg, no runny yoke it came out fully cooked which ruins the whole point of having an egg on the burger. Also absolutely zero seasoning on the burger! Presentation is there but zero flavor. Wrigley Burger Same goes for this burger. No flavor/seasoning and came over cooked. Literally just seasoning the burger and cooking it right would absolutely transform this burger since the rest of the ingredients are great. read more

Fun Irish bar in Boystown with decent food, beer and more drinks! Got a good sidewalk eating area on the side but my only complaint is that the seats here are the least uncomfortable seats ever. Their the bistro kinda seats you see everywhere in Europe but these are just beyond uncomfortable . Our server was cute and authentically Irish. Super friendly and efficient. This place has been around for a very long time when I used to live in the block so they're obvi doing something right. Go there! read more

Great place for nice and quiet outside seating. The tables are placed on the side street so you are further away from those walking on Broadway. You scan the QR code for the menu so one less thing to touch. I got the chicken sandwich and it was pretty good but I was surprised by the prices, a bit high for my liking. This was a great place to catch up with some friends! The staff was very friendly and attentive, always made sure our drinks were full. The cheese curds were fresh and delicious. They gave us ranch and marinara sauce for dipping. My friend and I split the classic burger and the reuben, both were very good but I preferred the reuben. For drinks I ordered the blackberry margarita and a simple moscow mule. Both were great, but definitely recommend the blackberry margarita. Came here on a Tuesday night for their $7 taco special (two giant chicken or steak tacos) and they were great! We also ordered a side of fries (weird combo, I know) and that was definitely enough food for two people. The drinks here are a bit pricey but the service we received was phenomenal. Our waiter (Brendan) took great care of us, and we intend to make ourselves regulars. No parking lot, though and it can get pretty packed in there since there's not a ton of indoor seating. When the weather's nice, they do have some outdoor seating along the street. read more

Love this bar. It's a great spot that's a mix of a gay bar and sports pub, and much more chill than most of the other loud spots in North Halsted. While it can get busy at times, you can usually almost always find a seat here. The food is good, too. I've had the chicken fingers and fries, and the California chicken sandwich. Mahony's is a Wrigleyville neighborhood bar that never stood out to me much. Broadway between Roscoe and Irving can get a little dry on the bar front, so I suppose it is nice to have it there. Just blocks away from the girlfriend's apartment, it seemed inevitable that we stop stop in for a drink sometime. The first time we visited was to watch football. Sports were on the various TV's, but when you're dating a Saints fan, you gotta find a place with a cable package for the NFC south. Despite being told in advance that F. O'Mahony's had this, we had to hurriedly relocate when we found out this wasn't the case. We wised up for the second outing to this spot. We had to meet some friends for brunch, and I was offered a choice between an early meal and football at home, or watching the game at a nearby bar. I proposed F. O'Mahony's as they were close, not crowded and served what appeared to be a reasonable brunch. This worked out perfectly for our group. We enjoyed bloodies, mimosas and tasty brunch fare. Our server got us in and out in plenty time for the game, and the ambiance was quite cozy in the meantime. I'd recommend it if you're in the area. read more

This is a really nice neighborhood bar to hang out with friends and meet new people. I had never tried Golden Monkey Beer until I saw the sign outside and figured I'd try it. The place is extra crowded when the Bears are playing. I'd suggest coming early to get a good seat before the game starts. It can get loud but I expect that at a sports tavern. I ordered delivery through Grubhub and I don't live very far away. The food came quickly, but other than that and the pickle, there isn't much to rave about. They did agree to a full refund and that is why I give two stars. The corned beef in the ruben was very skimpy and of inferior quality. It almost was like it is Buddig brand...There was more kraut than meat. But both were still skimpy. The rye is decent. Ignored request for 1000 Island on the side. We planned to come here last week and we came here yesterday at 9:00 pm. We were just 3 people and we sat on the bar stool. There are bartenders who are doing tricks in making drinks. We sat here since we wanted to enjoy and watch the bartender making pure drinks. He gave us the first shot and that was so intense. The drinks were cold and it was cool. He's good at making our drinks. For our food we just ordered chicken wings. Their chicken wings were not dry and it was juicy inside. The chicken skin was crunchy and perfect for the drinks. The flavor was sweet and salty. It was good for us. We spend our night here until 11. We enjoy having it here. Highly recommend this place. read more

I have to preface this by saying ive been here only twice thus far. Each time was a unique experience in terms of ambiance, food and drink quality, and staff. I have recently returned to the wrigleyville neighborhood, and I had trouble finding a bar that didnt scream sports or boystown, and I felt this bar is exactly what I was looking for. The bar itself is intimate, with mostly stool seating, with several tables clustered in the center. The first time I visited, i was disappointed with what I ordered. Who wouldn't like a fried chicken sandwich? Unfortunately, I received a tiny, pounded flat breast that was barely there, and certainly not worth the price. But, the flavor was there! I figured the chef didn't have any big juicy breasts left at the time i ordered (around 9:30 on a thursday night). The second experienced knocked the first one out of the park. My girlfriend and I came on a Wednesday, and were pleasantly surprised to find it was free trivia night. I gave the chicken sandwich a second shot while my girlfriend ordered the burger, and decided to try the frankly overpriced cheese curds, which must be a hit or miss item. For us, only about half of the battered curds actually had any cheese in them, as most had came out of the casing in the fryer, which was disappointing. My second sandwich was a giant breast, and I was very happy with it. Delicious. Girlfriend also enjoyed her burger. The waitress taking care of us did a fantastic job seeing we were taken care of and had a great sense of timing, seemingly sensing whenever we were ready for the next round. Trivia was a lot of fun and if I had wednesdays free i would definitely consider trying to take down the regulars, who seem to dominate, as I've been told! Overall I would give it a 4 star experience only because the food for me has been inconsistent, and I hope to improve that the more I visit. I would recommend checking it out, especially on tuesday nights ($5 burger) or wednesdays. read more

There's a decent number of tables and if there's a seat open at the bar, just check if it's in use, nobody expects to a sit alone The two bartenders at work when I visited were both friendly and attentive; this isn't a bar where you need to be an "8" to avoid being overlooked, even on a very busy night, this middle-aged business traveler never had to wait for a menu, a refill, or even an odd request (I'm telling you, the French fries were truly some of the best ever) They have a double door at the entrance, helpful to avoid blasts of cold air in the middle of a Chicago winter. Angie. My server was Angie. I give 1 star only because of her. I have been coming to this place for 2 years but since then a lot of things have changed. Most importantly the serving staff. They are certainly either racist or outright uninterested in serving you. I was shown the check after each of my 4 consecutive orders, and I never asked for check once. Which clearly meant that Angie wanted my party to leave. And this is when we were the only ones in pub at 9pm on a Friday night. And then she started serving us drinks in plastic cups. I wanted to like this place because of the proximity to where I live. It always seems full with a great crowd. I've been there a couple of times and also came back after getting food poisoning from their Burger Night. Yes-it was reported to the city. Tonight was the final straw. Angie, the server, was very kind-as always. But quickly dropped off our check after two drinks. I guess that was our clue to leave. Terrible way to get someone to leave. This place has some pretty negative reviews, but my wife and I really enjoyed it. We stopped in on a Saturday night, and the place was busy, but not at all crowded. Their alcohol/ beer list is surprisingly awesome, and the prices are pretty low for Lakeview. As an appetizer we decided to try the cheese curds. These were actually probably my least favorite part of the meal. It isn't that they were bad per se, but the cheese seemed to kinda melt/ fall out of most of the pieces. We then decided to try the Nashville fried Chicken sandwich and the standard burger. The fried chicken sandwich was pretty much perfect. The chicken was fried perfectly with great seasoning. It was a little spicy and really well balanced. The burger was also very good, and cooked perfectly to the requested medium rare. Fries were also on point and seasoned perfectly. Added bonus, our server, Lauren I think, was awesome. The staff in general was very fast and very accommodating. Overall an awesome neighborhood pub. I can't recommend it enough. read more

So I've been here twice. Once was probably 6 years ago and as I recall the food was decent. I came back last night with a friend. Sorta slow for a Friday night which was nice as we could hear ourselves think. Our waiter was actually really pleasant. I've read a lot of reviews about rude waitstaff and perhaps they've rectified this, because our guy was excellent. He was swift and attentive. Drinks: They have a good bourbon and scotch selection. I decided to go with the scotch. I ordered it on the rocks...So yea, here's why you're not getting five stars. The scotch was brought to me in one glass and the ice in another. Cool, I can pick how much ice I want, but they were like ice chips. They literally melted within 2 minutes of me putting them in my scotch if even that long. But wait, here's the kicker...You ready? THEY.CHARGED.ME.FOR.THE.ICE. Are you serious??? A dollar for ice? Did you get this ice from a nordic spring, freeze it and then bring it to Chicago? Why am I paying a dollar for a cup of ice chips that melt in two seconds. I mean if you want to charge me for something, then bring me a whiskey stone or at least a large cube or sphere of ice. I was nearly on the verge of giving this three stars, but a concert ended while I was there and the place got slammed. I think there was only one waiter, but he handled it marvelously and never lost his good manner. Good experience, good drinks, cute decor, but seriously on the ice. C'mon. read more

I came here last week for dinner and beer after a 5.5 mile run with my friend. I was craving a burger so I ended up ordering a Bacon and Bleu Cheese burger with a side salad. The food was solid and our waitress was good. Plus they had $4 PBR tallboys or pounders (whatever you prefer). We sat outside on a warm, humid night in September. They could use a little more lighting, but I didn't really care since it was nice out. The menu is your typical standard bar food and neighborhood bar. It appeared they were getting ready for trivia on Wednesday night. Overall, this is a solid place to grab a drink and some food. Plus it is far enough away from Wrigley (yet close) without getting the typical Wrigley crowd. read more

A cozy neighborhood bar , over the last year i have probably been here a good 20 times hence i am biased towards o mahoney's. To start with its just another neighborhood bar with nothing extraordinary BUT having said that - The friendliness and the welcoming attitude of the staff makes this one of my favorite spots to grab a drink my part of the lakeview / boystown. They have a decent selection of beer on the tap, the beverage menu is well crafted and the food menu is what you will expect from a bar. They also offer weekend brunch which i have not been to. There is more though - They have weekday menu specials with dollar 5 burgers and dollar 1 wings. Wednesday trivia night is always a fun time to be here. In summers they have cute little outside patio seating. If you live around do stop by Wednesday 8 PM , grab a beer and answer some trivia. read more

Came in after work for a quick drink and appetizer prior to heading to a friend's for the evening. $5 drafts were solid (not sure if this is a weekday thing or happy hour) but that's about it for me. The place stunk like cleaning chemicals when we first got there...it faded after a bit but that tends to stick with you. Cheese curds were the biggest offender. $9 is pretty aggressive, but you get a decent amount. These things were sad though. Most of them had a deflated football kind of look...and when you bit into them there was plenty of air to go with the cheese. All told I'd maybe come back for a beer but that's it. read more

In the words of one of my friends: "you don't go to F. O'Mahony's unless you live nearby." I would say that's pretty true. The food here is okay, have had some ok (french toast, burger), have definitely had some bad (mushroom pizza, calamari). The service the last time I was there was terrible. Sat outside for about 30 minutes before being helped, another 30 to take order, 40 for the food (wrong drink and food, but gave up on asking about it), and then a final 30 minutes to get the check. They do have a decent sized outdoor space which is nice. Although they don't seem to stop smoking, which is not so nice. The biggest plus about this place is the brunch. For $20 on Saturday OR Sunday (take that Angelina's) you can pick any food item (breakfast or sandwich) and get bottomless mimosas. I believe this goes until 2pm. read more
