This cozy pub in the Lakeview area has great specials during the week. We stopped by for the $0.50 wings. They have two types: Buffalo and BBQ. We got some of each. They were ok, nothing to write home about and the size of the wings were a bit small. But they also have a large selection of beers, cocktails and fun drinks to choose from. The brisket taco here is delicious, there is no doubt about it. I've been coming to Vaughan's for over 3 years now and I've always had a great experience with the food (brisket tacos and giant pretzel), drinks and the service. Until last weekend. Such a disappointment! So I was convincing my friends to go to Vaughan's to eat the GIANT pretzel and the delicious brisket tacos. I talked about how big the giant pretzel was and how they would be surprise. Well, we get to the bar, the order without looking at the menu (because we knew what we wanted) and we waited for the food while drinking some beers. The woman that brought our food put everything on the table in front of us and I immediately say: "WHAT?! What happened to the pretzel? It's so much smaller than usual. Did you guys change anything?" She said she had no idea what I was talking about, said that the pretzel was the same as usual and that I must not remember right because she had been working there for two years. I asked her to check with the kitchen but she couldn't care less. She never checked with the kitchen nor checked with us again for the whole night. It's fine to make the pretzel smaller or charge more but to pretend it was always like that it is just wrong. Even the tray for the pretzel changed. You decide! read more

I've been to Vaughan's so many times I'm, like, 5 items away from having had everything on the menu (they have a pretty small menu so that's not that impressive). The highlights for me are the nachos (both kinds but ESPECIALLY the pot roast nachos) and the wings (classic and Korean BBQ). The bathrooms are also easy to find and always stocked and clean, BUT most noteworthy about Vaughan's is probably how attentive the people who work there are. They're always super fast and attentive even when there's only one person working there and it's a bingo night. Tldr: try the pot roast nachos!! read more

This is a good place. Loud, of course, it's a bar, it's to be expected. Especially when there are multiple TVs showing multiple games. The atmosphere was great though. Went there with two other people in the middle of the afternoon, plenty other people day drinking which made us feel a lot better about our decision. Had some house made cocktails and they were on point and strong which made them worth the money. Had a couple beers, talk med to some locals, hung around looked at some of the pictures on the top all, watched some games, headed out. Basically he said to our face, "that's not my job", with food & empty drinks, still waiting. He didn't even go tell whoever job it was. If Mr. Man-bun cared about anyone else but his friends at the other end of the bar, perhaps he could of poured our beers. Or perhaps said sure, one second, then tell whomever she was. This place is so chill. I was walking by and saw that they had 312 on special for $2, so I stopped in. I ended up staying for a few hours! The atmosphere is great, the jukebox kicks ass, and the bartender kept the brew flowin. The patrons were friendly and fun. I came back on a Tuesday and found out that the beer special was still there, and there was also an open mic night! The music was great- this place attracts some talented people. It wasn't my first time here, but it had been a long time (ahem, a really long time). The atmosphere was comfy and cozy as I remembered. This bar can fill up quick for certain games, so make sure to get here early if you want a seat. The bar staff here is friendly, quick, and attentive. Drinks are reasonably priced. They have a small food menu, also really reasonably priced. The tacos are huge and a good deal at 3 for $7. Their sliders and pretzel appetizer are also great. The nachos are huge and easily shareable. They have a different food special each day which ends up being a great deal. Overall, this is a great spot to stop into for a drink just because, and especially great to catch a game. The clientele here is friendly and it makes for a great time. read more

The food is cheap. Wednesday is 50 cent wing night. I opted for the Korean BBQ and was pleasantly surprised. Not the best wings I have had but not the worst either. My wife ordered the fish tacos, meh. A Smithwick draft beer runs 6.75. The service is friendly. The Irish bar tender was taking care of everyone this night. The food took slightly longer than I prefer to come out but was reasonable (say 30-40 mins?). Suffice it to say, drink your beer, watch your game, and enjoy your company. From the signage, I suspect this was an Ohio bar (Browns and Buckeyes). The atmosphere was very inviting, folks at the rail in the window, at the bar, in booths and tables. We opted for a booth in the back and it was very cozy. It looks as if there might be WiFi with a password, not sure if Vaughan's shares or not. I live just one block from this place and for awhile there, my roommates and I tried to go there every Thursday in order to establish it as "our" neighborhood bar. We were looking for the "Cheers" type bar where everyone would know our name... ...What we got was a bar that is dominated by the owners and their friends. If you aren't in with the in-crowd, then you are just another face. The in-crowd gets to start fights, the in-crowd gets to use the back door for smokes, the in-crowd gets to order from the waitress station, yada yada yada. The straw that broke the camels back: Some of the in-crowd was getting a little fresh with the girls I was with the other night; I told the bouncer and all the bouncer could do was say "Sorry, nothin' I can do. They know the owners." I can't stand bars that simply exist for the in-crowd. If you're going to hang out on Sheffield then go to Soprano's, Matilda or even the Kirkwood. Fighting Irish....Irish bar...eh? As the Ohio State game had recently ended, the place cleared out, save for a few woozy holdovers from early boozing. Excited to see Chimay on tap, I of course order one. I dunno guys, I think the tap lines need to be cleaned or something, because this just tasted goofy. Dirty tap lines = ruining the beer you're paying $250 a keg for. Please stop, the Trappist monks are angry. At least they poured it in the proper glassware. Plus, even though the OSU game had ended a while after I arrived and got a couple beers, there were still a bunch of dirty OSU stadium cups strewn around the place. Meh. The bartender made good conversation when a few of the randoms seated at the bar inquired about the Guinness 250. He said it sucked, essentially refused to sell it to us, and instead poured samplers. (He was right...think Guinness with flowers dipped in it and left in rainwater overnight.) Good dude. Switching to more traditional beers (Harp!) for an Irish bar proved to be tastier. My dad spotted Vaughans pub and thought it looked like a pretty cool pub. So in we went. Bad bad choice. There was only 2 other customers in the place. (flag) The douchey no personality whatsoever bartender doesnt even greet us. We got bad vibes from this guy instintly. Talk about a buzz kill. My dad asked him about a stout they had the guy simply mumbled the name of the beer. Really? No shit. A bartender is suppose to make you feel welcome and want to stay and drink.
