Lincoln Tap Room is the best place to go in Chicago if you are a Steelers fan. From the moment I walked in I felt like I was in Pittsburgh just from the number of Steelers fans and the Steelers memorabilia on the walls. I became an instant fan of this place when my friend, a Steelers fan, invited me to watch the Steelers game with them. Lincoln Tap Room gives off a hole in a wall kind of vibe where everyone is welcoming and treats everyone like family. I'm not a Steelers fan but I found myself cheering when they scored along with the other fans and sing along to the corny remixed songs every so often. The thing I was not a fan of was the music because the bar remixed every song they could think of to involve the Steelers or Pittsburgh to some capacity. I love my Bears but I found myself slowly going crazy after the 20th remixed song. The bartenders always made sure our glasses were never empty and we were always entertained. After the Steelers game went off all the fans in the bar took a picture in front of bar and it really gave off a family vibe. I can't wait to go back and experience the great vibe that Lincoln Tap Room gives off!

The bartenders are always very friendly and check in often which is always appreciated. You're always immediately given little pretzels to snack on which I love as a unique touch. This time we both chose a more standard cocktail, but they also always have very unique and delicious seasonal cocktails which are always amazing! I would definitely recommend Elixir to anyone looking for a spot to grab a quick and delicious cocktail!

It was the right move because it had the kind of chill vibe we were seeking after a long flight from SFO. Fortunately there were two seats at the bar with our names on them. Figuratively speaking. They had quite a signature cocktail list on hand, and we felt it was our obligation to try as many as we could. At least that was what we said to ourselves as the evening wore on. Each cocktail was $14. We started with a couple of familiar libations. Jamie ordered the Mint Julep, a delightfully Deep South mix of bourbon, simple syrup, and fresh mint (photo: https://yelp.to/u-td8LdPLj). I went further south with the Pineapple Margarita which was emboldened by a tropically potent mix of pineapple infused tequila, lime juice, and agave (photo: https://yelp.to/V-Sf6Q_2qK). We got a bit bolder with our second round and found mixed results. Jamie had the Not Your Mom's Daiquiri which amped up the margarita by blending pineapple-infused tequila with Bacardi 8-year rum. Along with fresh lime and simple syrup, this one definitely had more of a kick (photo: https://yelp.to/1ZijDf6wMV). However, my order, the Pontiac Pony, was a spicy miss for me. It was a rather oddball mix of apple-cinnamon infused vodka, pear liqueur, fresh squeezed lemon juice, and ginger beer (photo: https://yelp.to/5dQoFdzG98). There was just a harshness that didn't sit well on my tongue. Oh well, the mellow vibe was cool. COCKTAILS - 4 stars...three out of four cocktails were aces, just one clinker AMBIANCE - 4 stars...very chill, fairly quiet for Boystown SERVICE - 4 stars...cool bartenders TOTAL - 4 stars...check it out when you take a break from your Boystown cruising RELATED - Exploring Chicago? I love the overall feel with its high ceilings and a fireplace that makes it feel comfy. The food doesn't disappoint either. Lots of usual pub selections but elevated. Our typical go-tos are the curry chips, Mac and cheese and Shepards Pie. All are exceptional. The drink menu is great as well. No surprise, they have a long list of beers on draft and bottles. What I enjoy most is the long list of great ciders and fruit flavored beers. I nice way to mix it up. Finally, always great service. My two friends wanted to split the four cheese toastie and tomato soup, and their food was plated separately so they wouldn't have to share a plate. I thought that was such a thoughtful touch. I got the fish and chips, and the fish was perfectly cooked and crisp, I really enjoyed it. On top of that, our waiter gave us a free dessert since we were feeling down about not being able to use all of our tickets at the wine fest. I think it was a toffee cake with vanilla ice cream and caramel, and it was delicious. 10 out of 10, would come back again!
