    Best cider ever!

Cool place to watch a game. Great prices! All the bartenders are cool and the service is always great. Dog friendly! Different events happening every night so there's always something to do.

This bar is somewhere you want to go! Rian had an intrepid attitude no matter what drink idea I came up with (he is a connoisseur). The atmosphere of this bar is welcoming and the service is excellent.

This is a really big pub in a busy area in the city, right off the Fullerton redline stop. The bar itself is nice, and has the feel of an old fashioned pub. The drinks are good. Good job to our bartender who was super pleasant and realized she made a mistake with our drink and fixed it right away. Great customer service. They don't have food, but they have a kiosk you can order food from - similar to doing grubhub or Uber eats - but it's limited to one restaurant. The food arrived fast and hot. The food was ehhhhh and it was super greasy. My chicken strips were hard to eat. Not the bar's fault and I definitely appreciate the innovation and trying to give options to the customers. The bar is definitely a hang out and was a little loud - they have lots of televisions to watch sports, a pool table, and music. I would definitely go back again.

Our doggy is very happy they are dog friendly!

The Arrogant Frog says they are dog friendly, and man, do they mean it! My friend and I were looking for a good spot halfway between our homes that was both dog friendly and had booze. This was the closest thing we could find, and we thought we'd take a chance! Upon arriving, I went inside to check with the bartender that they are indeed dog friendly as some bars say they are but really are not (went to a bar in Edgewater like this). The bartender was super friendly and welcoming ,(I should have caught her name to brag on her; she's the one with curly brown hair and glasses) and told us could bring in our pups. Not only can you bring in your pups, but you can use a hashtag and tag them on Instagram and get a free "dog shot" (spoiler: it's a shot for humans). This alone deserves 5 stars in my eyes. The service was great, the prices are reasonable, and they have a nice deal worked out with Knife and Tine (with reasonable prices) to deliver food. We got the guac and chips and the corn fritters. The chips served with the guac got a little soggy. They were still delicious. If you're pretty picky, I'd recommend eating food elsewhere before. I would not mind trying more of the Knife and Tine food though. It all sounded pretty tasty. Bonus: they had a sour beer. I find this is becoming more common to find, but I always want to give props to bars that have them. We'll definitely be coming back. If anyone else wants to do a doggo meet up here, feel free to message me.

This place is an awesome place to get the night started! Great specials, like 20 local brews on Tap, free pool table in the back and the whole place has a really cool rustic theme. Right at the edge of Lincoln park so I usually like to start here and work my way through. On Fri I grab an absolute drink, fire ball (both on special on FRI) and a Moscow Mule! They must be the only place serving Moscow Mules in a copper mug! I shoot a little bit of pool and meet people every time I go. The place just has a super friendly vibe to it. And sometimes they have live music or a DJ. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

    Pull out bar stools.

The mushroom and kale pie was nice and cheesy and the rocking vegan pie was more savoury, with a variety of vegetables and chickpeas as stuffing. The crust was neither too soft nor too crunchy. The highlight of the meal was the curry chips: potato wedges lightly fried with masala and curry leaves. The dipping sauce that came with the chips reminded me of tikka masala sauce, and paired beautifully with the chips. Dessert was toffee pudding: the caramel sauce that came with the pudding was delectable - the pudding itself was excellent and not overly sweet. We tried a variety of NA beers, and I was pleased with how many options they had. Service was quick, and we were well looked after. The ambiance is warm, with dim-ish lighting and a lot of dark wood. The restrooms were gorgeous - special shoutout to the lovely floral wallpaper. Overall, I highly recommend Pleasant House - the vibe is chill and understated and the food is stellar.

The sausage was very tasty, the breading on the outside was incredibly crisp, light, and the egg inside was cooked well. Both the steak pie and the chicken pie were very good. The chicken pie I think really needed the chutney that you can get separately. But that made it so much better and made it my preferred pie. The steak and ale pie was better than the chicken pie as a standalone, but needed a bit more gravy I think to elevate it. Sticky toffee pudding again was delicious. Surprisingly light, not overly dense so I was glad it came with the custard which was very flavorful. Overall, will definitely return!

Our only one issue is the waiter told us the lamb chop special was gone so my husband ordered the pork chops but what was served were lamb chops. He ate them so we didn't say anything to the waiter but it was strange because the bill listed lamb chops not pork chops. Maybe they weren't gone after all? Unfortunately, the mac and cheese was also lukewarm, although the fries were piping hot. We've been here many times before, especially during the holidays, and it has never disappointed us. Amazing that fun isn't always beers and chugging. The food is actually good and can be talked about in reviews because some people actually come here to eat, which tells you how they actually have a kitchen. Believe everything is good here but we came for the beers of course. It's certainly the main product made here so why wouldn't it be important. They make more than you can believe which is impressive because there's all kinds of crowds who pass through. For sure everyone wants beer. It's $6 a pint at happy hour. Pretty great for craft beers compared to lots of places it seems. Best one we got was the Bucket Hat. This is a Belgian style witbier. Has notes of bubble gum, coriander, and orange. The food isn't an afterthought so get some of that. It's about $18 for a burger. Vegans have options. Certainly one of these is the Veggie Burger. This is an amazing thing with a spinach patty topped with chipotle tomato marmalade, cremini mushrooms, mixed greens, pickled red onions, and sweet potatoes. All on a fluffy ciabatta bun. The rest of the menu contains meaty stuff. For sure it feels like a place for the hipsters but it's pretty great for anyone. It's located at the intersection of Jackson and Wabash close to lots of fun. The brewery has food that's better than expected but many other things about this kind of stuff are typical.

Pro Tip: if you can tolerate a large quantity of fish, visit on a Wednesday for their AYCE Fish & Chips. I've had many hum drum AYCE dinners that are drab and only fill you up. Not this one. It's a great meal and a great deal. The Shepherd's Pie was fabulous, as was the Bangers and Mash. They've created a Haggis Burger that has to appease Americans, yet, still be haggis. A tall order since most would hate "true" haggis. Fear not, it's not your grandfather's haggis, it is a tasty burger. The fries were great but I'd recommend the Tattie Skins. We tasted so many different malts it was hard to pick a favourite. No foolin' they had island malts, highland malts, speyside and even a couple from the lowlands. Easy to spend over two hours in this public house. We did. Can't wait to get back to this town. This is a must! 02/26
