Bad Boy Buddha with beef added

They claim to have the best fried chicken in Chicago. Yes, it's worth the hype! We walked over after a show at the Vic Theater (about 10min walk) for dinner this weekend. Wow! So good and so much food. The bowls and chicken breast sandwiches are huge. My wife and I both had the Bad Boy Buddha bowl and added beef. So good and can't wait to have a second dinner with all the leftovers. Our daughter had a single chicken breast sandwiches and could barely eat half of it. Good and BIG! Our son loved his Chi-Town chicken bowl. We didn't need chicken legs, but of course we had to try some. We also added an order of 5 drumsticks with a mix of their sassy and BBQ sauces. Seriously good fried chicken! We'll definitely come back in future trips into the city.

One of my favorite places for Korean chicken wings. Sadly they don't deliver where i live but always a good excuse for a bike ride to get some take out. Definitely get the sassy sauce and bone in large Korean chicken wings. Great service and amazing staff.

I came here years ago and decided to come back to give them another try cause my friend would not stop talking about them. We did 3 chicken wings, half chicken with buffalo sauce, and half chicken just plain. I thought the plain chicken was overcooked/dry. I usually like to judge a place on the juiciness of the chicken after it is fried because the sauce is just tossed in after the chicken is fully cooked. I thought the chicken wings sauce was too sweet. The buffalo sauce smelled really good before we tried it then I got really disappointed. It wasn't spicy at all and it smelled way better than it tasted. Overall, I don't think this place has improved since my first visit and I don't think I will come back. I think their sauces are just on the sweeter side and I'm personally not a huge fan of it.

Always great fried chicken and a staple of the neighborhood. If you're debating whether you should stop by, don't. Just go in.

Used to live around the are on the 2018, love to come to thisnplace to have the best korean fried chicken and kimchi. Was there few days ago to remember nostalgia, and things are the same or even better than before, and I love to see that this place is still alive! The chicken drums here it is fantastic and huge, the kimchi it is a big portion and filling. I will recommend this place infinite times, please don't miss out this place if you are around boystown or lakeview.

Crisp is a staple, good prices, good food, and great spot to take visitors for a quick meal! Loved the Seoul sassy sauce and boneless wings. Can get pretty crowded but always able to find a spot to sit. Staff is very friendly

BYOB! Cozy restaurant with communal tables. Very busy on a Friday night at 7:30pm but I was still able to find seats for two. There seemed to be a lot of to-go orders. Food came out fast and the customer service was friendly and quick. Definitely took advantage of their BYOB to have my chicken with beer! I thought the half chicken was the best deal for $11.99. I got a lot of chicken. The BBQ spicy was spicy but still sweet and delicious. My friend got the crispy chicken bowl. That was even more food. Both of these meals could have been shared.

Crisp is my favorite place for fried chicken in Chicago! As the name suggests, their fry is just right! I've tried many establishments throughout the city for that crunch, that crisp, and juicy chicken. I've tried both their wings and jumbo drumsticks. DEFINITELY GET THE DRUMSTICKS. Crisp definitely delivers. I will always pay a visit when in the area. Pro tip, order the original with sauce on the side. You can even go without sauce in your order, as the communal tables already provides free gochujjang and ketchup.

Tendies, wings, and sandos are all good. Low key some of the best fries in Chicago. Fun place to eat at, and the service is good. The wings and tendies are huge so be careful not to over order.

I've heard a lot of good things about this neighborhood icon but today was my first time trying it. I have no idea where they get their chickens, but they are so fresh and bursting with flavor. The jumbo wings are huge and cooked to crispy perfection. We ate in and enjoyed trying the different varieties of sauce. The bowls also looked so tasty. This is a high energy place and the buzz is all good. There is limited communal seating and we were lucky enough to snag a seat at the window.

These wings live up to the name. Super crispy. Huge wings. Fast service. The restaurant was full as we got out food within 7min. Super casual. Fun loud music. Picnic family style tables.

food: Korean fried chicken spot, great crispiness, the garlic was my fav - watch out their stuff is actually spicy service: fast service ambiance: gets busy, great takeout spot

    Sarah K.

Stopped by for a girls night and the ambiance is laidback but definitely loud due to the music. The couple behind us was speaking so loud trying to talk over the music that they were yelling. Music definitely needs to be turned down for the ambiance to be enjoyable. The flavor of the wings were tasty. We got Buffalo spicy and the garlic soy. Buffalo spicy has a nice heat, and the garlic soy could've had more of a soy flavor. I'd say the flavors for the wings are American with some Korean inspiration. When I lived in Korea I had some of the best fried chicken, so I wouldn't really call this Korean fried chicken. The wings and fries were also old. You can tell that the wings and fries had been sitting there for a while and just dipped back in the hot oil to warm it up. This made the wings hard and the texture unappealing. If the wings and fries were made fresh-to-order this place could be an amazing fried chicken restaurant. The customer service was friendly and the cashier was nice! So a definite plus! I think if the above things were tweaked this restaurant could definitely be a 5/5!

Then I saw the KBBQ menu and all bets were off. I immediately pivoted and ordered the chef's tasting set, the Diweji, featuring pork jowl, pork collar, and pork belly, complete with an assortment of banchan. Zero regrets. And here's the part that should tell you everything you need to know: I am a certified radish hater. I avoid it whenever possible. Yet somehow, I found myself repeatedly reaching for the radish banchan and asking for more. Even the soup - which also featured radish - was absolutely delicious. If Perilla can convert someone who actively dislikes radish into a fan for one meal, that's saying something. The soju was exactly what I wanted with Korean barbecue: crisp, clean, and refreshing. I appreciate that it was neutral rather than overly sweet. The flavored, sweeter versions aren't really my thing unless the food is setting my mouth on fire. Speaking of spice, the wings were good: juicy, well-executed, and satisfying but I kept wishing they packed a little more heat. They weren't spicy at all, and a bigger kick would have taken them from very good to unforgettable. As for the meats, the pork jowl was gloriously rich and fatty, exactly what you'd expect from that cut. The pork collar ended up being my favorite: flavorful, tender, and with just the right balance of meat and fat. The pork belly was comforting and familiar - the classic KBBQ staple done well, with beautifully rendered edges and that indulgent quality that makes it a crowd-pleaser for a reason. The set also came with potatoes that were unexpectedly delicious. My only complaint? It was far too much food for one person. The service deserves its own mention. Everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. The entire meal was delivered with efficiency and a smile, making a solo diner feel completely comfortable lingering and enjoying the experience. What I thought would be a quick happy hour stop turned into one of my favorite meals.

The kimchi pork dumplings were an absolute flavor bomb and that parmesan broth gave the dumplings a little extra kick that took it to the next level. I asked about the 8:45 and her coworker said that IS available. I was confused, because a minute ago she said they were fully commited. Which I said back, she said there is actually an 8:45 (okay so you lied). I asked if we could put our name down for that and did. After that extremely strange interaction, which I was not used to after eating at many higher end restaurants we sat down at 8:45. We ended up getting a mix of small plates. The waiter was clearly trying to sell us their expensive courses for his tip though he was very sweet... which he may not have realized we had an expense budget for work and we were trying not pass that. He emphasized the small plates were small and not enough food which we fell for and got more and had way too much food and passed our expense budget due to it. The food is great, it's the service that has work to do especially for such a high price tag. Get the chicken for sure. Dumplings you can pass on. The broccolini (not pictured) is great as well. There were so many things going on here that my head was buzzing, trying to put all these flavors together? And yes, their burger rivaled Chef Yoons burger in L.A.! The burger came cut in two with each side resting in mayo and BBQ sauce. Wow, was it bizarre, offbeat, unique, atypical and the adjectives keep on going; but the adverb used on the burger was - MESSY, and I loved it. I didn't need napkins to stay clean, I needed a beach towel. The fries I ordered were fantastic along with their banana based ketchup which again was strangely weird but excellent. My OB Korean beer paired perfectly with my "Perfect Storm" hamburger. My son and his fiancee went with a salad and Pad Thai Noodles with shrimp which was equally as delicious as my meal. Parachute Hi Fi was definitely an anomaly that I enjoyed very (very) much. And, yes, I'll be back!
