I heard off this place from an Instagram video from a food blogger. There wasn't initially seating when we first got in, but the bartender/hostess helped us make a makeshift table. We also didn't have a chair so she had to go find a chair and she found one so really appreciate her hustle. The wings came out pretty quickly, the honey barbecue wings were really sweet, and came with a substantial amount of sauce. The ranch was impeccable. It was not too thin and came with celery. The birds nest hot sauce was relatively hot for a medium. I was definitely feeling the spice after two or three. I think there was a little too much sauce on the wings for me, personally, but overall very good. The volume is really loud because everyone was there for the game, so we kinda had to yell over each other to have a conversation. We got our check pretty quickly and the servers were really attentive. After hearing a lot of great things about this place we decided to check it out for a spontaneous quick dinner. I was really craving a burger, but unfortunately they were out of burgers so I decided to go for a steak sandwich...however, they were out of that too. The server then proceeded to tell us that the only thing they had left was chicken so I had to go with a chicken wrap. We also got some cheesy bread to start. Unfortunately, the cheesy bread was pretty bland and came out kind of cold (the marinara sauce made it a little better). My wrap was very disappointing as the chicken was dry and the whole thing was just not good. My friend got a chicken sandwich and was also not able to finish it as she wasn't a fan of it either. I don't know if maybe they were just having an off day or if the food really is just that bad. I will say the spot itself looks like a really lively and fun spot for drinks. From a value standpoint, I feel like the wings are a bit overpriced especially when casual places like bufallo wild wings and wingstop argue higher value deals. They also don't have the much variation when it comes to the sauce. Welp!!!! Here we go!!!! Instagram listed this as having THE BEST WINGS IN CHICAGO. So I had to taste for myself. Verdict? I will say, they will be hard to beat. The texture was spot on. Cooked to perfection. Not overcooked & were very juicy. Their signature wing sauce was the right temperature. Not unbearably spicy, but still give you that kick. & normally when I eat a plate of fried wings, I'm weighed down & ready to immediately lay down. Not these though. Went on a Saturday night with friends and the bar was pretty packed, so we decided to eat out on the patio. Our waitress was nice and attentive. We ordered wings, and two burgers. The wings were juicy and flavorful. We got the teriyaki (on the sweeter side) and birds nest sauce (a bit of a kick). Their fries are Cajun curly, so yummy! The Fahy burger was my favorite item there! It had crispy onion rings and bacon with bbq sauce but the bbq sauce wasn't too overpowering/sweet which was perfect. We also got the regular burger, but it was pretty bland so I wouldn't recommend that. First, credit where it's due: our waitress was fantastic. Super friendly, attentive, and genuinely apologetic when things went wrong. She handled the situation professionally and was easily the highlight of the visit. The buffalo wings themselves were amazing--great flavor, cooked well. That said, we ordered 10 wings each, which arrived together in one large basket. When we split them up, we realized we had only received 24 wings total. That's confusing considering wings are ordered in increments of ten. It honestly makes you wonder how that even happens. We brought it up to our waitress, who immediately alerted the manager/bartender (the one with the wing tattoo on the back of his neck). Unfortunately, this is where the experience really took a turn. He was extremely rude, never apologized once, and didn't offer any explanation at all. The only thing he asked was whether we wanted the missing wings "for here or to go." Since we were watching a basketball game, we said for here. About ten minutes later, he came back, dropped the wings on the table without saying a single word, and walked away. No apology, no acknowledgment of the mistake, no explanation--nothing. The waitress later came back and apologized again, which only further highlighted how poorly the manager handled the situation. Bottom line: the food is good and the waitstaff is great, but the management response was unacceptable. Mistakes happen, but refusing to apologize or communicate is a choice. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My friends and I stopped in to Birds Nest hoping to try their wings. We saw a video on TikTok that Birds Nest had some of the best wings in Chicago but sadly we were never able to even try them. We walked in hoping a staff member would see us to get seated but no one ever came. So we walked around the restaurant looking for some open seating thinking maybe it was a seat yourself restaurant, but every space was full. We tried going to a back area but got yelled at that it was closed. At this point we're looking lost and confused. Rather than maybe helping us get sat or provide direction on what we could do or where we could wait to be seated we were ignored after getting scolded. We walked to the bar, thinking okay maybe we'll just order takeout. NOPE! We were also ignored despite our efforts to flag someone down. There were a couple staff members around that saw us and yes they looked a little preoccupied but we were also very obviously just trying to get help. The fact they couldn't even acknowledge us and take 10 seconds out of what theyre doing to assist was upsetting and a poor reflection of customer service. Overall, we left disappointed and annoyed but was glad to give another local restaurant our business. This is just my personal experience. I love this place so much! The S/O lives close so we come here quite often. We usually bring her doggy and sit outside on a Friday evening. It's the perfect place to do so as they always provide Maisy with a water bowl, always greet each dog with "human respect", and are constantly doting on each dog as if it was their own. The food is typical Chicago bar food but always hits the spot. (The wings and pizza are fantastic) The beers are always cold and arrive just as you think you need another. The atmosphere is great as there's usually multiple dogs outside sniffing each other. Inside is almost as good as they have lots of TVs displaying any sport that interests you. We love this place so much that during the Covid closures, we sat outside in PARKAS to patronize them. Several times it was around 10-15 degrees Fahrenheit, yet the staff always did great.
