Maddie our server was so amazing! She was attentive and had a smile on her face every time she checked on us. THE WINGS - I have never been a big traditional wings girl, however these wings changed my opinion on this. We got the House Sauce, the Hot Teriyaki, and the Hot BBQ and we couldn't decide which was our favorite. 10/10 will be back! (Kari's Rating 8/10) Came in on a Friday night about 8 o'clock, and I didn't realize there was a basketball game tonight, so the bar was really packed with IU fans. I heard off this place from an Instagram video from a food blogger. There wasn't initially seating when we first got in, but the bartender/hostess helped us make a makeshift table. We also didn't have a chair so she had to go find a chair and she found one so really appreciate her hustle. The wings came out pretty quickly, the honey barbecue wings were really sweet, and came with a substantial amount of sauce. The ranch was impeccable. It was not too thin and came with celery. The birds nest hot sauce was relatively hot for a medium. I was definitely feeling the spice after two or three. I think there was a little too much sauce on the wings for me, personally, but overall very good. The volume is really loud because everyone was there for the game, so we kinda had to yell over each other to have a conversation. We got our check pretty quickly and the servers were really attentive. I would definitely come back if I was in the area, but I probably wouldn't come all the way from River North for this again. read more

Our waitress was... sufficient. The food (I personally had chicken wings) was phenomenal. I suggest going with the Bird's Nest hot sauce for the wings. I'd definitely go back for the wings. read more

After hearing a lot of great things about this place we decided to check it out for a spontaneous quick dinner. I was really craving a burger, but unfortunately they were out of burgers so I decided to go for a steak sandwich...however, they were out of that too. The server then proceeded to tell us that the only thing they had left was chicken so I had to go with a chicken wrap. We also got some cheesy bread to start. Unfortunately, the cheesy bread was pretty bland and came out kind of cold (the marinara sauce made it a little better). My wrap was very disappointing as the chicken was dry and the whole thing was just not good. My friend got a chicken sandwich and was also not able to finish it as she wasn't a fan of it either. I don't know if maybe they were just having an off day or if the food really is just that bad. I will say the spot itself looks like a really lively and fun spot for drinks. They also have a pool table which just adds to the positive vibe. Our server was fantastic as she checked on us often and was really kind. read more

Alright, let me start by saying that I am from Buffalo, NY, so I was raised on wings. My bloodstream is partially Frank's Red Hot. Bird's Nest HAS THE BEST WINGS IN THE CITY. They're also not too overly priced, you're paying for actual chicjen wings ya know? These wings are the wings that I have been searching for in my eight years as a Chicagoan. Like these are the closest I have ever had to Buffalo, and my friends and I went to town after playing some Volleyball in the park. Like, it was so on. When I have the wings itch, it's Bird's Nest I turn to. read more

Came here strictly for wings and sports and this place was passable and did the job. From a value standpoint, I feel like the wings are a bit overpriced especially when casual places like bufallo wild wings and wingstop argue higher value deals. They also don't have the much variation when it comes to the sauce. I think this place is a bit overhyped in terms of how much social media tends to dub these some of the best wings in Chicago, this place feels like any other sportsbar and any other place that sells wings. In the end, it's not bad, but it also doesn't feel like it should get the hype that it does. Ultimately a serviceable wing spot. read more

Welp!!!! Here we go!!!! Instagram listed this as having THE BEST WINGS IN CHICAGO. So I had to taste for myself. Verdict? I will say, they will be hard to beat. The texture was spot on. Cooked to perfection. Not overcooked & were very juicy. Their signature wing sauce was the right temperature. Not unbearably spicy, but still give you that kick. & normally when I eat a plate of fried wings, I'm weighed down & ready to immediately lay down. Not these though. They must cook them on a light canola or peanut oil. So overall, I was impressed. The waitress Monica was a delight. She laughed at my jokes & was really curious as to what my final verdict was. This is a great bar to go to for the typical Urban Americana experience when you want to kick your feet up. Definitely try their wings. I'm going to go to the two other places that cracked the top 3 to compare. read more

Wings Rating: 4.1/5. As of now, my favorite buffalo wings in Chicago. Delicious. Ambiance Rating: 3.9/5. Proper sports bar with a great neighborhood feel. Service Rating: 0.5/5. Waitress forced us out of our table. We were eating wings during a weekday football game. We told the waitress we were planning on leaving at halftime of the game. We got our check with 3 min left in the half so we could leave immediately after the first half ended. Instead of letting us stay for 2 extra minutes, she forced us out of our table and told us we could watch the rest of the game standing up at the bar. Not the way to treat paying repeat customers. read more

This is my go-to wing spot in Chicago! As a self-proclaimed connoisseur of all things wings, this place stacks up! Their bird nest hot wings are the ones to go with. It's a unique sauce that I would say is not burn your mouth but enough kick to enjoy. I also would say the wings are perfectly fried and not too big that they lose the taste. Service here has always been excellent. Have done both takeaway and sit-in and always get freshly cooked wings. read more

It's been a couple years since I've been to Birds Nest due to moving out of town but I'm back baby and ready to eat these wings weekly. Got wings with Birds Nest Hot Sauce and Cajun fries. Literally so good. We also got the Buffalo Chicken Pizza - this wasn't the best idea- we thought it was dry but we learned our lesson and just won't order it again lol Our waitress was super nice. The inside was full (it was a Friday night) so we sat out on the little patio area. Overall, just as good as I remembered and I'm looking forward to getting back there soon! read more

Love coming here whenever I am in Chicago! Typical dive bar, perfect for watching the big game. They have plenty of tables but beware it is a seat yourself place so you may have to wait for a table. They are known for the wings and they are incredible. Highly recommend the honey bbq or the hot teriyaki! The fries are equally as good and they have regular or curly so definitely get a side of those. Plenty of beer, seltzer, and wine choices. Can't recommend this place enough, if you are considering it definitely go! read more

A laid back neighborhood bar offering a friendly casual atmosphere and some of the best wings in Chicago. You seat yourself which can be tricky since nights are often crowded with college students. Daily drink specials are offered. Menu selections include a variety of appetizers, salads, wraps, sandwiches, pizza and of course wings. We had to wait a little bit to find a table but as we looked around, everyone was having their wings. We ordered a pitcher of beer (Drink special of the day 12.00) and a basket of 20 wings with their own Birds Best Hot Sauce and an order of Cajun fries with cheese for dipping. Fries were not greasy but I wish the cheese sauce was warm and not cold. The wings had just the right amount of crisp and the sauce was not too hot ...just right! Good size and very meaty. They are the real deal! Plenty of street parking and an outdoor patio in the summer. If you want good wings in the city at a decent price, this is the place to go. read more

Me, my boyfriend, and a group of our friends came here for a triple date to watch some March Madness games and it was most of our first times here. To begin with, Stella, our waitress, was the best. Stella was so punctual, quick, and accommodating. She checked in on us often and made sure we were taken care of despite it being a very busy Friday evening. The place was packed and she still made an effort to make sure we got seated and we did. She was taking care of most of the tables and was still polite and friendly. As someone who dines out very often, I had not had service that well in so long! The wings were also delicious and it was a great spot to watch some games. We will be back for sure, and hopefully we will have Stella as our server again! 10/10 experience! read more

Went on a Saturday night with friends and the bar was pretty packed, so we decided to eat out on the patio. Our waitress was nice and attentive. We ordered wings, and two burgers. The wings were juicy and flavorful. We got the teriyaki (on the sweeter side) and birds nest sauce (a bit of a kick). Their fries are Cajun curly, so yummy! The Fahy burger was my favorite item there! It had crispy onion rings and bacon with bbq sauce but the bbq sauce wasn't too overpowering/sweet which was perfect. We also got the regular burger, but it was pretty bland so I wouldn't recommend that. This is a nice neighborhood bar with good wings and a great bbq burger, you should definitely check it out! read more

Since I live nearby, I kept hearing about how good the wings at Bird's Nest were. Finally, I got the craving and ordered some to go. I got the hot wings and my girlfriend got the teriyaki. While the hot wings were fantastic, the teriyaki were in a whole separate dimension. I will without a doubt order those next time. Also, Bird's Nest seems like a nice place to get a couple drinks and watch a game so I will have to try that out in the near future. read more

First, credit where it's due: our waitress was fantastic. Super friendly, attentive, and genuinely apologetic when things went wrong. She handled the situation professionally and was easily the highlight of the visit. The buffalo wings themselves were amazing--great flavor, cooked well. That said, we ordered 10 wings each, which arrived together in one large basket. When we split them up, we realized we had only received 24 wings total. That's confusing considering wings are ordered in increments of ten. It honestly makes you wonder how that even happens. We brought it up to our waitress, who immediately alerted the manager/bartender (the one with the wing tattoo on the back of his neck). Unfortunately, this is where the experience really took a turn. He was extremely rude, never apologized once, and didn't offer any explanation at all. The only thing he asked was whether we wanted the missing wings "for here or to go." Since we were watching a basketball game, we said for here. About ten minutes later, he came back, dropped the wings on the table without saying a single word, and walked away. No apology, no acknowledgment of the mistake, no explanation--nothing. The waitress later came back and apologized again, which only further highlighted how poorly the manager handled the situation. Bottom line: the food is good and the waitstaff is great, but the management response was unacceptable. Mistakes happen, but refusing to apologize or communicate is a choice. Make sure you get what you pay for when you come here. read more

Wings are great, service was great, only downside was it got super packed around 3:30 on Saturday, which wasn't a big deal just loud.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My friends and I stopped in to Birds Nest hoping to try their wings. We saw a video on TikTok that Birds Nest had some of the best wings in Chicago but sadly we were never able to even try them. We walked in hoping a staff member would see us to get seated but no one ever came. So we walked around the restaurant looking for some open seating thinking maybe it was a seat yourself restaurant, but every space was full. We tried going to a back area but got yelled at that it was closed. At this point we're looking lost and confused. Rather than maybe helping us get sat or provide direction on what we could do or where we could wait to be seated we were ignored after getting scolded. We walked to the bar, thinking okay maybe we'll just order takeout. NOPE! We were also ignored despite our efforts to flag someone down. There were a couple staff members around that saw us and yes they looked a little preoccupied but we were also very obviously just trying to get help. The fact they couldn't even acknowledge us and take 10 seconds out of what theyre doing to assist was upsetting and a poor reflection of customer service. Overall, we left disappointed and annoyed but was glad to give another local restaurant our business. This is just my personal experience. For all those looking to give this place a try, I truly hope you have a better experience than I did! read more

Not only is the service great!! The wings are phenomenal!! My favorite is the spicy BBQ, definitely recommend!

Love this place. Neighborhood corner bar and has great wings. I was told these are the best wings and they were not wrong. Huge wings like the old days and tasty. The sauce was great. Curly fries were large portion enough to share. Tried to order the onion rings and breaded mushrooms but were told they were out of breading which sounds a little strange. We went at noon so may have gotten there before they could bread them and stick in the cooler. In any case the place was good. Worth a visit. read more

Dark and dingy bar- we've come a few times for just drinks, but we recently came in for a snack. The wings were surprisingly good. Were they the best? They've made its way to towards the top of my list, but they aren't my favorite wings in the city. Nonetheless, they were nicely fried (skin was not rubbery), and the Bird's Nest Hot Sauce was a unique flavor- not quite buffalo sauce and not bbq. Maybe unpopular opinion, but they were too saucy/smothered. The Seasoned Curly Fries were good, but we wished they were a tad more crispy and more curls... Of the entire basket, there were maybe 2 actual curly fries. read more

NOW THIS PLACE... Lives up to the hype. I feel like I actually have had better wings but the sides really sealed the deal for me. My boyfriend and I came here on a casual date night Friday, and were pleased. Our server was slow BUT it was her first night working there and for that I commend her because she had a lot of tables and I could tell she was stressed. So we weren't upset by any means. We split a 20 piece wing with BBQ, cheesy bread, and curly fries ADD CHEESE OBVI and when all the food arrived my jaw dropped. There was so much laid in front of us. We were so excited because we were starving this night preparing for this meal and it did not disappoint. I love this place so much! The S/O lives close so we come here quite often. We usually bring her doggy and sit outside on a Friday evening. It's the perfect place to do so as they always provide Maisy with a water bowl, always greet each dog with "human respect", and are constantly doting on each dog as if it was their own. The food is typical Chicago bar food but always hits the spot. (The wings and pizza are fantastic) The beers are always cold and arrive just as you think you need another. The atmosphere is great as there's usually multiple dogs outside sniffing each other. Inside is almost as good as they have lots of TVs displaying any sport that interests you. We love this place so much that during the Covid closures, we sat outside in PARKAS to patronize them. Several times it was around 10-15 degrees Fahrenheit, yet the staff always did great. This is a STAPLE of the area! read more
