We used to love this place when we lived in the city. We came back today and left with nothing. The website and doors say they open at 11:30 and the doors were locked and lights off so we decided to go get coffee next door in hopes that they opened at noon. At noon, they unlocked the door, no hello or greeting - just straight behind the counter and to the kitchen for us to order at the screen in the front. The screen was filthy (they just opened as a reminder) we couldn't tell what was in the 'combo' and then when we were going to order the boneless chicken wings, as they were gluten free when we ordered them years ago, I asked one of the women in the kitchen to confirm. She said no, I don't think so. And walked away without any further guidance for what I might be able to eat on their menu. It's not a preference, it's a dietary restriction - so we walked out from there. They clearly had no interest in helping me or our business. Discovered this gem last weekend when sis and bff visited. We've been known to take wing tours and this place rose to the top! Garlic buffalo, Gambino buffalo & Jerk mild rub - AMAZING!! Yummy! Finally had the chance to stop here after hearing about how great the wings are from multiple people. No disappointments here - the wings are amongst the best in the city. I went with the lunch special (as recommended by the super friendly person at the register). This was deal was a bargain - 12 wings, fries and a soda all for under $20. BadaBing serves some decent wings. The wing sauce names are pretty fun, creative and most importantly, tasty. My order was done by the promised time. They are however a little pricey and small in size. I ordered 24 wings for $40. But the sauces were good. We ordered Gambino and Al Capones Sauce. We also ordered their lemon pepper which wasn't that great. Not sure if their other dry rub wings are like this, but wet is definitely the way to go. They also aren't stingy with their sauce. BadaBing has reopened their doors almost a year ago. I recognize the same good folks that worked under Jose. They are still honoring his super great recipes and everything on the menu is the same. They have now daily specials just around or under $15. The menu still has the same delicious flavors and the rat pack is still my favorite deal! Stepping into the doors today, the same cool Al Capone and Godfather mafia theme and the same wonderful smell of wings and much more!!! I know we've had both the sweet n spicy and the Korean wings, but I truly cannot remember which was the one we're obsessed with. I just know they were both great. We also got the hot Jamaican jerk sauce last time and it was truly on par with a full jerk chicken restaurant. Garlic parm slaps as well. The only sauce I have not really liked is their signature Al Capone's sauce - but I don't really like mustard or BBQ based sauces, and it was definitely one of those. It tasted like smoky chick-fil-a sauce. OH and lemme tell you, their cauliflower wings were AMAZING. So many restaurants just add cauliflower as a veggie option but don't put any care into it. Okay, my reviews are usually accompanied by photos but the reason there are no photos attached to this review is because the moment these wings touched my lips my focus was honed in on devouring them and nothing else. These are such amazing wings - the flavor was fantastic, they were naked wings (not breaded, as wings should be - because otherwise that's just fried chicken slathered with sauce!) and the sauce was delicious and plentiful. A sleeper restaurant for me close to the uptown/arygle area! I've passed by this place before but it wasn't until a friend was visiting and saw an instagram reel of this place that I even really saw this place. Seating is minimal, making this place more suitable for groups larger than four people who prefer grab-and-go options. They also unfortunately do not have a public restroom. Really wanted to like this place since it's all over social media. We don't live in the area but it's on DoorDash and I feel if a restaurants good via takeout then we'll be returning customers. However we will not be returning. We order 12 wings, tater tots, and sweet potato fries. 6 wings were mango habenero, other 6 were the gambino buffalo sauce. The sauces were very underwhelming. The buffalo was ok, regular buffalo sauce nothing special. Mango habenero was very sweet, tasty more like Thai chili sauce than mango and not a touch of spicy to it. Wings are normal size, not small but not big, but they are meaty. The jalapeno ranch was awful. I am a ranch connoisseur, I love a good ranch and I am very picky about it. I've have really good jalapeno ranch at other restaurants and the one served tonight taste like store bought kraft ranch. I'm sorry but it was terrible. We also got blue cheese too and the same thing, bad blue cheese. I specifically compare it to Kraft because I am not a fan of that dressing brand and these dressings they gave is were just bad. It might not be Kraft but it for sure is not homemade. I understand if the blue cheese is store bought but don't advertise jalapeno ranch if you're not gonna make yourself. This was a very disappointing experience coming from a place claiming to have the "best wings in the city" on their website when me and my girlfriend entered it was completely dead there wasn't even staff to greet us we took our order on the iPad when a worker finally came to the front and he smelled completely like weed like he smoked 70 joints before his shift! I love the kick in the mouth of the RIP, hot enough to make my scalp sweat, but not hot enough to give me heat hiccups. The garlic Parmesan is so good. We are southerners and trust me when I say, we know a good wing. You'll find it here.
