I ordered online directly through Nicks website, my food never arrived I was waiting over an hour and half. I call Nicks was told not their problem we sent the food to Grubhub for delivery over an hour ago. I looked my Grubhub acct up to see I have no recent order. On the phone with Nicks, I told him I didn't receive a text nor a call to inform me. I was still on phone I went outside towards front of the property due to my home in the rear back. I got to front my order was hanging from my fence and the squirrels had eaten and ripped the bag of food inside. I told Nicks he was still on the phone and still took no responsibility after I told him my $ is spent I have no food, wited over 2 hours and the deliverer did not hand me in my hand my food. You do notnleave food hanging on a fence knowing theirs squirrels, birds, other animals outside running around looking to eat. Its unprofessional! I would like a refund! I spent over 47.00. Now, no money nor any food. I'm h still hungry and I like Nicks which is why I ordered from them. This is inexcusable! Would you spend this kind $ and no one takes accountability. I received a confirmation email so what happened? Their creations are tasty and the quality food products they use are always FRESH because they actually understand the food business and what draws customers and keeps them referring others like I'm doing right here. So I haven't been back to nick's on north since before Covid. I heard the old owners of the Foremost liquors by them bought Nick's so I was curious to find out if it was same, better or worse. I ordered 1 hotdog special with fries and drink for just about $8. Now, I know prices have gone up since Covid began but damn! $8 bucks for a hotdog special? C'mon! I know the neighborhood is changing but this is crazy for our neck of the woods. Hotdog was a hotdog, fries were fries ‍ nothing special. I'm curious to see what the rest of the menu tastes like but if I'm going to pay 12 bucks for a gyro special I can just go elsewhere. read more

I received 10 fries with my combo(my co worker is my witness), normally I cannot finish a gyros - Nicks gyros was so small and they roll it in a cone shape therefore they do not have to put any meat on the bottom. read more

They're great people in addition to great chefs. I came in to pick up an Uber order that wasn't quite ready. All the employees were eating soup. It looked good so I checked the menu and saw no soup on it. I made a comment about how it must be good soup if all the workers were eating it and it wasn't on the menu. I just found this place when my friend and I got insurance. It is in the next store. Since we were starving, I decided to enter this shop while my friend was in the other shop. They have a lot of food including sausage. I ordered 4 dishes. It took a minute before it came. Gladly they have fast service. I'm surprised that their sandwich was really big. I thought it was small so I ordered 4. When I gave the two sandwiches to my friends he's surprised because he couldn't eat all of it. So we decided to give it to 2 people in the shop. Nicks is to the hood what Portillos is to Chicago. A must have. A staple. A don't-go-here-without-trying-it type of joint. I started off my addiction by trying the 1/2 Chicken w/ greek rice and potatoes. The half chicken is so much food that I could never get close to eating it all and felt guilty about throwing away, so I've graduated to ordering greek rice and potatoes as a side and shrimp or other protein to accompany. When I came here I had a not so nice experience. The waiter and staff are so slow in making my order. I spent an hour and a half waiting for my order. I just ordered a burger with fries. When it came I asked why they were slow and they said that they gave my orders to other customers. That's so rude. They do not even apologize for what happened. I have been to this place a few times for lunch. The place is clean. They have a lot for parking and the food is good. i have had the burgers, hot dogs, and the fries. The fries are really salty and crispy just like I like them. You get a good amount of food for the price and everything is cooked while you are waiting. I've been going here for years with the previous owner. Solid food/ Chicago style carry out. The place has new ownership with people who worked at the liquor store next store. Recommend the 1/2 Greek chicken. It was delicious/ fresh and not over cooked. (Problem with a lot of places that do this dish) Very excited and looking forward to my next meal there. One of the best chicken pitas I've ever had. Service is good and fast. I go here for lunch a few times a month while I'm at work. I've never had the special but my coworker loved it and she's very very picky. I've had the shrimp basket and wasn't too impressed, the taste was good but the shrimp where small. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is always friendly. The prices are low and the quality of the food is great. It's located in a parking lot with other stores so parking is available but the lot is small. This is a go to spot for me. Id recommend them for a quick lunch. read more

The food at Nick's is fresh, good, and reasonably priced. It's definitely far better than your average local fast food joint. What really makes Nick's stand out is the service and the restaurant itself. The space is extremely clean, with lots of seating, and comfortable. It's not your standard hole-in-the-wall sub shop where you can't wait to get out of there with your order. Everyone on the staff is extremely friendly, accommodating, and just nice to deal with -- again, not something most places like this seem to care about in the least. A couple added bonuses: (1) all drinks are from a self-serve fountain, so you get all the refills you want, and (2) they have an actual grill, so burgers, etc. have a nice charred flavor that definitely ups their game. My one wish would be for them to use fresh fries instead of your standard frozen crinkle cut variety, but this is not the end of the world. You get a lot of fries, by the way...probably more than I've ever been able to finish. Just note that the hot dogs, even with everything, are not quite exactly classic Chicago style, since the buns don't have poppyseeds and I don't think they use neon green relish. But whatever. The hot dogs themselves are definitely the real thing, with a great snap. Nick's deserves credit for really putting customer service and quality first. It's not gourmet food, but it's always a good experience and I make it a point of going here instead of local competitors. read more
