Chicken Platter
Jose C.

I've been to this Halal Guys a few times already. The food always taste consistently great, I just wish they would load the plates up to the top. While they don't have the same taste as the ones from New York City, its always great to have every now and then. The staff here is also friendly and very welcoming. I usually order their large Chicken Platter. Similar to chipotle unfortunately, you go down the line and then then what you'd like. Lettuce, tomatoes, onions and peppers. Ive never seen onions and peppers being offered at any of the halal carts in NYC, and I don't get them here. The chicken here tastes fresh and the white size is amazing. Don't ask for too much red sauce. I love my food spicy, but the red sauce here is no joke.

Recanted visited for dinner and had a lovely experience. The workers were super friendly and accommodating! The menu had a lot of fun options on it to try such as a honey sriracha falafel. We loved the hot sauce because it was actually spicy! Be careful if you're not used to spice- it is HOT! such a great place to grab a quick dinner!!

This Halal Guys location is one of the best - Such friendly staff and tasty food. The combination platter we got was soo well made! Huge portion size, plenty of toppings, white sauce, and the chicken shawarma and falafel were amazing! Armetine took my order and made it, she made it perfectly and so quick. Her and Nelson were so welcoming and created a great ambiance. Love Halal Guys and would definitely come back to this location!

It was my first time eating here and I wanted to to try it because I've heard good things, and it was great! The place is very small and there's only a few tables available and staff was nice! There's no bathroom or wifi here and parking is mostly street parking. I got the regular chicken and gyro platter, with white sauce and a bit of BBQ sauce! The meat was very tender and flavorful, it was delicious itself. Everything tasted so good together and seemed very fresh. I recommend this place for a quick bite or for good delicious food. It was about $11.50 for a pretty big portion!

Friendly, kind, delicious food, and more sauce then we could ever use! Thanks ray ray for getting us in last minute for a delicious late night snack. Highly recommend!

Liked it. Would totally get it again. The meat was flavorful, the sauce is good (though it's not this amazing thing sent from the heavens as other proclaim), portion size and value is good, as well. I had the smaller chicken & rice plate and it was more than enough for one meal, I had leftovers. Service is very bare bones but gets the job done, same goes for the 500 degree tiny, not so clean shop. I think as far as The Halal Guys locations go, this one is not at the top level but it gets the job done. Food is good, staff just needs to step up their game a bit.

When you see 1 "$" next to a restaurant's name on Yelp, there's a good chance that it's not going to be fancy. What this place lacks in subjective refinement it (for the most part) makes up for in taste. The falafels are crunchy on the outside and moist and pretty flavorful on the inside. The pita bread tastes good. The rice is a little dry but super tasty. The vegetables seem fresh and complement the dish well. The white sauce is good, but makes the vegetables seem grainy if you add too much. The to-go packaging is convenient and easy to open/reseal.

The food is overpriced and bad, the environment is sketchy, and the service is what you'd expect from fast food. Avoid.

It's decent as a fast food. The vegetables seemed fresh, the beef was good. Enjoyed my meal. But it's not a fancy place.

We started with the salade verde, which was very nice and fresh, along with their asparagus dish, which had a creamy sauce and some pickled onions. A unique and tasty flavor. For main dishes we split their fig, caramelized Onion and feta pides. They call it a flat bread, but it is more stuffed. It was delicious, and the arugula on top was a nice fresh addition. We also had the mussels, which were delicious. The mergez gives it a little bit of spice, and the broth is definitely worth soaking up. We were stuffed from dinner so didn't try the desserts, but there were some yummy looking options. The service was very good. Our server was friendly and knowledgable. Would love to go back and try some more.

The wait staff were SO sweet and did warn me about the portions so I didn't fill myself up too early! I could eat that hummus by itself with a spoon and be perfectly happy. LOVE the tiny little tasty side dishes! The highlights for me were the foie gras and the lamb chops, which were a special item: they were so tasty and juicy in their sauce and absolutely perfectly cooked. There were protestors outside who screamed at people coming in and out of the restaurant, but honestly obnoxious people like that just make me want to come back and support Galit MORE, not less.

I didn't realize beforehand that the meal was only offered as a preset menu, but it happened to be a special menu that week. The food was excellent, though the sheer number of dishes became a little overwhelming. Standout items included the walleye, the hummus served with warm pita, the beef tongue shaslik, and every one of the desserts. The service was less impressive. Our waitress was fine overall, but she came across as somewhat impatient, particularly when our group needed a little extra time to understand the menu. It also would have enhanced the experience if plates were cleared between courses, as the table became quite crowded. It did not feel like the level of service I typically associate with a Michelin-starred restaurant. Overall, I'm glad I had the opportunity to try Galit. The food was memorable, even if the service and overall dining experience did not fully meet my expectations.

This restaurant is 50+ years old and has been in the same location for that long too. The inside is a bit darker and there are very few windows but they have ambient lighting and music playing that doesn't make your really realize it. There is a lot of seating for smaller and larger groups. The service is some of the best I've had. The owner, Max, personally comes to take your order depending on the rush and he is so sweet to recommend dishes. The food itself is so flavorful and all of the proteins fall right off the bone. They were also able to accommodate a big group and were so kind to play music and serve cake for my birthday! This is just a provisional review, as I've only eaten here twice. The hummus was good and the pita was delicious (unlike most American restaurants, where the pita tastes like cardboard.) The main dish, lamb shank in walnut and pomegranate sauce, was somewhat disappointing. The lamb was fairly tender (though not on par with Greek-style lamb) but I couldn't taste any walnuts or pomegranates whatsoever. It came with a big heap of flavorless rice. I'll update my review when I try some other dishes. I'm a little worried about this place. They've been around forever, but the two times I've been here, it was almost deserted.
