The McDonald's of seafood. Meaning it's cooked like seafood looks like seafood but taste is lacking. Service was superb. Salad was warm shrimp trio was shaky. I didn't honestly try dessert for fear of it's possible effects. Sorry red lobster I've come here for years and won't be coming back anytime soon. Yesterday (September 10, 2023) I went to the Red Lobster location in Colerain, Ohio. I was very clear when ordering my food that I have a deathly dairy allergy and that my food needed to be plain and butter/dairy free, and that it cannot have any cross contamination either. I ordered a 7 oz sirloin with a plain baked potato and broccoli all dairy free. The server seemed to have understood and I saw him write stuff down, albeit I don't know what he actually wrote down. When the food came out, I asked him if there was any butter on it just to make sure. He said no. So my family and I began eating. I was hesitant to eat right away so I touched each item on my plate to my skin to see if there was a reaction (I can do this because my allergy is so sensitive and severe). The broccoli made me a little itchy, but the steak didn't so I began eating the steak and waited on the broccoli to see if it was just in my head. However, the broccoli was touching each food item and was all over the plate. I started getting itchy in my face and my throat felt funny. About 10 minutes into me and my family eating, the server came out and said that there was indeed butter on the broccoli and asked if I wanted it remade. But with my allergy, it was too late. The server blamed the kitchen for not listening to him. I take two Benadryl and my family packed up their food quickly to take me to the emergency room. The manager came to our table as we were packing up to leave and said sorry and immediately blamed the server. According to the manager, the server only wrote "no seasoning" when it came to my food. I'm not interested in who's fault it was, I was frustrated that I had to deal with an anaphylactic reaction and spend the rest of the day in the hospital. I was frustrated I was going to have a life threatening reaction because of their incompetence. The manager gave us a few free appetizer coupons and we paid and left the building. I had to use an epipen injector and hurry to the emergency room. I'm frustrated that they didn't take my allergy seriously and that they were too busy trying to pin the blame on someone else. I'm not the kind of person that isn't willing to pay for their food, but I was slightly upset that the only accommodation was a few free appetizer coupons, because we weren't even able to finish eating at the restaurant. We had to hurry out because I was having a life threatening reaction and they were insistent on us paying which was inconvenient because I'm waiting to drive to the emergency room. They weren't prompt, responsive, or caring. By the way, I have had allergic reactions the last few times I've gone to this location but, this was the worst reaction and I didn't even eat the broccoli. It was just because the buttered broccoli touched the food I was eating. I was extremely clear when explaining the extent of my allergy and that it can't even touch anything with dairy. We just left the Red Lobster on Springdale in Colerain. It was terrible, we will never be back. The service was horrible, the bar tender was our server for some unknown reason (there were plenty of other employees standing around doing nothing.) The biscuits that used to be good were terrible. My order was wrong and when I finally got the servers attention, he acted like I was lying. Then he charged us extra for bringing out the food that was supposed to with the meal. The prices are way to high for the quality of the food. (The food was terrible) We used to really enjoy Red Lobster. Again, will not ever dine at this restaurant again. Worst restaurant experience I've ever had. It took over 20 minutes to be seated in a basically empty dining room. Then we waited another 15 minutes before our waitress came to even greet us. Finally she comes and we order just drinks. A few sodas and 1 beer. Drinks then took another 10 minuets to get to our table. At that point we had been there for 45 minutes and hadn't even ordered yet. Salads took forever and the caesar salad was horrible. It was basically limp lettuce drenched in mayo. Food came and it was bad. My mother in law's steak was basically raw when she ordered it medium and it was so tough. The steak was inedible. She ended up throwing it up because it was so bad. The waitress checked on us one time and then after we told her about the steak issue we were still charged the full price. She didn't eat the steak or take it home. Horrible food but even worse service. We spent over 2 hours at the restaurant. It was horrible, we will never be back. read more

This was a horrible experience from beginning to end. Our waitress/bartender brought out cold lobster bisque soup. If your going to serve the most expensive soup please make sure it's hot like what? Then serves my scallops as an appetizer before my salad. Scallops should've been with my meal lol. Then my steak was overdone and then tells my husband that his green beans were late because they had dropped them on the floor yet I had gotten some? My family and I ordered from RedLobster.com but, of course, it was outsourced to DoorDash. We spent a decent amount of money for below par food but I guess settling for below mediocrity is commonplace here in this region. We ordered three multi-course meals and our daughter had the only meal that was palatable (the wood grilled shrimp). The wood grilled tilapia was extremely dry & tasted like it was briefly submerged in dish water before it was cooked. The 'lobster' bisque tasted like Campbell's tomato soup with some cream added--no evidence of lobster was present. The 'Cajun' chicken pasta entree was overly salty & the linguini pasta was overcooked. The key lime pie was atrocious & fishy tasting...how did that happen? Lastly, the fudge brownie was immensely undercooked. So basically, I (the wife) 'enjoyed' my side salad and two broccoli florets...oh boy what a feast! My husband, on the other hand, enjoyed nothing and remains pretty ticked off. My boyfriend and I went here to eat for dinner last night. Just on a whim. DiAngelo, our server, was so nice. He went through our menu with us, checked on us often, and very helpful and chill. Our food was very hot and fresh tasting. The dragon broccoli starter was amazing. As we were leaving every staff member we walked by said to have a good night. We had lunch at the restaurant on Nov 16, 2019. We were seated at 1:00 pm, and the restaurant was fairly empty. We ordered our food ~1:15 and 45 minutes later we still had not received our food... a soup and salad. When the food did arrive, we had to search to find 5 very small shrimp in my wife's Shrimp Caesar salad, which was overall of very poor quality. I ordered the clam chowder, it arrived cold with a solidified "skim" on the surface.... likely from sitting in the back too long. Hello, For our families Easter dinner we decided to order Red Lobster and requested delivery. We placed the order online at 4:55pm requesting the food to be delivered around 6:15. Thirty minutes after the order was placed online I checked and it told me it was still "pending." I contacted the location (Springdale Road, Cincinnati) and spoke with the manager Liz. She was very friendly and helpful informing me that they had in fact received our online order and it was set to be picked up by the third party delivery service at 5:45. We live 12 miles from the store location (15 minutes). At 7:15 our delivery had still not arrived. I again contacted the store where the original order had been placed and spoke with Liz. Once again, she was very understanding and empathetic to our situation. She had checked the pick up time and the driver picked up our order at 6:00. It was now an hour past when the delivery should have been made. Liz explained that they use a third party delivery service and apologized for the inconvenience. She also was quick to point out that when and if our food did arrive it was obviously no longer going to be hot and fresh. She offered to duplicate our entire meal however since they were closing at 8pm we would need to pick it up. We appreciated her offer and at this point was starving. As my husband left to drive and pick up the order that had been placed over two hours prior our doorbell rang. I walked the 20 feet from where I was standing to our front door only to find a young man speeding off in his vehicle while our bag of food was tossed on our doorstep, in the pouring rain. I realize it is Easter and families have traditions. Although this is a strange adaptation to our normal traditions I also appreciate those who are still working hard to make money. That is why I originally added a $10+ tip to our order for our driver. Our meal was completely ruined because of the negligence of the third party delivery driver. I am requesting a complete refund for our meal and the tip that we generously offered. I would also like to point out that Liz was an absolute savior. She was kind, listened with attentiveness and apologized for our inconvenience. Even more importantly she stepped up as a manager and obviously was aware that she had the capability of rectifying the situation as much as she possibly could which as a customer is satisfying. I ordered curbside pickup at this location for a 6pm pickup. I called in upon arrival and was told it would be 5 more minutes. At 6:15 I called back in to find out when they were going to bring out my pickup, and was told they were on their way out. At 6:30, I was tired of waiting and entered the restaurant to pick up my order, where it appeared that the item were just being assembled for the to go bag. Yeah, it's a chain. You go to Red Lobster for seafood for the same reasons you go to The Outback to get a steak. A decent grade meal at a fair price. Red Lobster has done a decent job of juggling their menu around, and they have hit the homerun on a few of the more recent additions. The grilled options are awesome. We hit the Colerain location for dinner this past Saturday. We've eaten there regularly for years, but I wanted to have a fresh dinner before I reviewed it. The wait was reasonable considering that it was Saturday in the midst of Christmas shopping insanity. I figured that the place would be overrun with hungry shoppers from the mall, but times were running 20-30 minutes. For appetizers, we ordered a New England sampler... it seemed a little bit skimpy on portion sizes than in the past. Must be the economy. They're serving tartar sauce with fried crab and bacon wrapped scallops now? No seafood sauce, had to ask. Both of those were good though. The stuffed mushrooms were a bit on the small side, and there were certainly fewer of them. The Mrs. ordered a couple crab cakes, which were full of lump crab meat, but were very dry overall. Extremely dry, requiring copious amounts of remoulade sauce. Salads were standard fare... decent caeser salad but I am a complete stickler for salads. If it isn't cold and crisp, I am annoyed. The plates were lukewarm, and so was the salad and dressing. Room temp salad is my pet peeve. So no marks there. I did a wood fired grilled platter with shrimp, scallops, and a lobster tail with broccoli and some rice pilaf. The broccoli was overdone, period. Not even a bit of crisp zing to it. It was well on the way to being an ingredient in some broccoli & cheese soup or a topper for a baked potato, but as a standalone side. MEH! Otherwise, the shellfish was good. Shrimp not overdone, scallops were tasty, and the lobster on the grill... well it's pretty hard to screw that up. But the screw up came when I ordered a separate, whole steamed lobster to boot. Yeah... I was hungry. Wanna' make something of it? I should have known there was trouble when the waiter asked me if I wanted it grilled or broiled. I said, "huh? well however it comes", never had a grilled whole lobster before. Well it came... as a grilled tail. ARGH! It wouldn't have been so much of a problem except that #1 I ordered a whole lobster because I wanted claw meat as well and #2 we have two little ones (very little) and we have a specific amount of time that they are good for dinner... after that we start running into boredom/attention span issues. They're awesome for being 2 and 1... we're usually good for an hour to an hour and a half. The waiter assured me that they could get another one split and out quick. Fine. Do it. And indeed, they did a pretty good job of making it happen. The best part about eating a whole lobster in the midwest is the strange looks you get from people when you're crunching away at the cartilage on the tops of the legs to get the body meat. Even the manager stopped by and commented that I must be a professional lobster eater because he doesn't get very many people ordering a whole lobster. HUH? mmmkay... well it IS Cincinnati anyway... As for the dude staring at me the entire time in sheer horror a couple tables away... hey bro, live a little. Try something new for a change. So we ended up getting comped for dessert for the screw up, which made my wife happy because she thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate chip lava cake ice cream thingie. All in all, it was a decent time and the meal is good for the money. When I got to the restaurant, I had to sit myself at the bar because there was no host/hostess to sit me at a table. When I got to the bar, the bartender had an attitude (said to one of the staff behind my back that he's a bartender not a server). On top of that I sat down with no silverware present, and I had to actually ask for a plate while eating straight from the basket it came in.
