Went to Red Feather for our anniversary and we were not disappointed!! Pros - food was amazing!! - best dish we ate: puffy tacos- so flavorful - we also loved the crispy chicken skins, gnocchi, burger, and truffle fries -tasty cocktails! Cons - it was really loud - we were at a tiny table and crammed into a corner with not much room - service was average Food was on point which is why I'd recommend this place!
My Mr. was looking for the best tapas restaurants in the Cincy area. Both Google and Yelp had excellent reviews so he made reservations for my birthday. I've heard of this place and saw that it was always busy but never crossed my mind to come here. Now I regret not coming here all these years. They offer street parking or valet. The inside is small yet welcoming. Lighting is dim but sets a great mood. The staff is super friendly, patient, and very attentive. Their drink and food menu is simple yet has so much to offer. So most if not all are sharable. We ordered: Bottle of Raul Perez Ultreia Mencia blend (dry red wine) Lemon pepper cauliflower Mussels Meunière Potato gnocchi Crispy salmon This is the most organized restaurant I've ever been to. The food did not come out all at once. They wanted us to enjoy each dish individually. Which I love because I don't want to rush to eat my meal or worried about it getting cold. Timing on the food was perfect! The cauliflower had great flavor and paired well with the sauce. Both the mussels and gnocchi melted in my mouth. The broth/crème on the mussels was like soup. I wanted to take the bowl and drink the sauce. It was that good. The gnocchi was very rich in flavor and filling. Last the salmon! Oh wow! The best I've ever had! The crispy skin tasted so good and I loved the spinach on the side. The wine we picked paired all well with the meals. I wish I had room for dessert but didn't. This was the best restaurant experience I've ever had and I can see why they are close to a 5 star rating. We are definitely coming back. It's amazing and I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.
Went there today for my friends 30th birthday. The best thing of the night was drinking the pink Cadillac. I wouldn't recommend going if you have a large party. We ordered around 8:10pm and got our food around 9:30pm. A few others and I ordered the burger. I asked from mine with no red onion marmalade and done medium, the person across from me ordered hers with the cheese on the side and no red onion marmalade and well done. When hers came out it had the cheese and the marmalade on it. Once she said it was wrong they took it from her and tried to give it to the person next to her who ordered a whole different meal. When my food came out it had no cheese and 3 small pieces of bacon on it. I then asked for more bacon, once received I cut into my burger and long and behold they gave me the well done burger that was supposed to go to someone else . Needless to say I wasn't about to eat establishment.
I decided to surprise my lady with a visit here for her birthday. She absolutely loves tapas style food so I knew this would be a good spot for that. How good was it? Even better than I had anticipated. The service was epic, the ambiance was very cozy and cool, and the food was amazing. The whole experience was truly top-notch. I made reservations a couple weeks in advance, which I'd definitely recommend, since they were packed the whole time. The place itself isn't huge but does have quite a lot of seating. Our server, Amy, was tremendously knowledgeable and friendly. She gave us the rundown on the menu and offered great suggestions. We started with a bottle of Raul Perez Ultreia Mencia Blend, the lemon pepper cauliflower, the mussels Meuniere, and the potato gnocchi. Amy brought each dish out individually so we were able to enjoy it all one-by-one. Each dish paired immensely well with the wine too. But after those dishes, we decided to indulge in one more, and that was the crispy salmon. Possibly the best salmon dish I've ever had and cooked perfectly. My lady usually doesn't eat the salmon skin and she did this time. However, when it was time for dessert, there was no more room at the inn. Maybe next time, and we already know there will be a next time. Yes, tapas can be a bit pricey, but Red Feather is worth every penny. My lady truly loved the whole experience and it showed. Why not surprise YOUR loved one wity a trip here? If they're tapas fans, they'll love it too.
Wow!! The best short rib I've ever had. We went in the middle of the week & although it was half full of people the volume was perfect. Our waiter was very informative about the menu. We also got the ricotta with honey which was fabulous. Our waitress brought out extra bread without us asking. The gnocchi was fine - I am not a huge gnocchi fan though so I am not the best judge for that. We are returning in a few weeks because I enjoyed the food so much!
My husband and I visited Red Feather Kitchen last month when we were in town for a show, and talk about a wonderful experience. The ambiance was softly lit and romantic. We loved the open kitchen. Our server was friendly, helpful, and attentive. He advised that the pasta options were smaller plates, like a tasting menu, so we decided to order the Cacio e Pepe to share as a starter, and oh my goodness, it was incredible. For our entrées, my husband ordered the Scallops which he raved about, and I had the Alabama White BBQ chicken. I forgot to get a picture before I started digging in, because it was mouth-watering and I couldn't wait. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The sauce and the pimento cheese grits were so decadent. The pecan brussel sprouts were perfectly crispy. I think my eyes rolled back in my head while I was eating. Absolute perfect experience. (My brother, who is a local, recommended the espresso martini, but sadly, they were out of espresso, so I'll have to try it next time.)
We went on a Tuesday night and sat at the bar with friends. The bartender, Hugh, was lovely and took great care of us all night. We weren't sure about some of the wines, so Hugh let us taste a few different ones and we landed on the Rose. The four of us decided to split a dozen oysters, six of the Barachois (PEI), and six of the Hammersly (WA). They were $4 a piece and although they both tasted great with the lovely mignonette, one type was small, the other downright tiny. $48 for 12 very small oysters was not worth it. We also ordered the ricotta, which was presented beautifully and was delicious. We tried the asparagus soup and were very disappointed that it tasted nothing like asparagus. It was more like a cheese soup. It also was yellow, not green like we expected. For our mains we ordered the gnocchi and the mussels. The gnocchi were on the dense side, but the sauce was fabulous. I wanted to lick the plate! The mussels were larger than normal PEI mussels I am used to. Their consistency was softer, but their flavor was good . My only wish was that the sauce was more abundant and less cream forward. We had to ask for bread because they are not served with anything to soak up the sauce. Our friends had the puffy tacos, beet salad, and the burger. I didn't taste the burger, but it looked great with tons of fries. I did taste the beet salad, which I eat regularly at home, and this version was very delightful. The tacos tasted very homemade, but the spiciness took over and I couldn't really discern what meat was in them. Chef Brad came out and talked to us at the end of our meal which was very cool. I am very much looking forward to going back and tasting more of their spring menu. The scallops, agnolotti, risotto, and chicken will be up next!
With the world slowly opening back up again, my wife and I had our first date night in a long while at Red Feather Kitchen. They claim to be an upscale casual dining experience, so pretty much anything goes. Some tables are white table cloth while others are not. Some customers were dressed more formally, while I was pretty casual. Reservations aren't necessary on a weeknight but are available online. We started with a wonderful dish of whipped ricotta served with grilled baguette slices. This was recommended by our server and it did not disappoint. It was served to our table quickly and was more than enough for two. The ricotta has some truffle oil and chives, but the ricotta itself really stood out to me. My wife enjoyed some chicken tacos. These were each small in size, but five made up the serving so it was quite plentiful for the price. The shell itself was lightly fried to a bit off a puff. These were not very easy to pick up and eat without making a mess, more of a fork and knife taco. I enjoyed the BBQ chicken sando with Alabama white BBQ, cheddar cheese curds, and onion straws. The $19 price tag was a little high for a sandwich that doesn't include a side dish. However, with that said, I did enjoy the sandwich and the flavors it offered. We also had a side of asparagus, but probably should have skipped this. At this point, we had more than enough food on the table and could not finish it all. Red Feather is a good spot for a date night regardless of what the occasion. There is something on the menu for nearly every palate and at all different price levels.
Met a friend for drinks and appys!!! With it being my first time here I was really impressed from atmosphere, to service, to food .... For our drinks we had the Apricot Fizz... tasty & bubbly always wins me over... Also had the FAMOUS ricotta and honey ... STUNNING.... And the puffy tacos also yummy .... I seriously cannot wait to find a break in my schedule to go for the full dinner experience...
I have only dined once at Red Feather. It was enough of an experience for me to give a rating. I can say with ease that at least on the evening that I came, things could've been better. The one word descriptor here is heterogeneic; good food, a casual atmosphere, and willingness to accommodate confused by unacceptably slow service and food timing and person dependent service quality. Honestly, it almost seemed like my reservation for one lacked the priority that other groups received. I made a reservation days in advance given the limited seating and the desire to dine on a weekend. Luckily a table for one isn't difficult to do. Arriving at the restaurant right at doors open led to a small traffic jam as others who also had reservations at the same time arrived. My seat was awkwardly at the corner of the entrance/bar room. I personally noted that given my proximity to the door, I would be close to patrons who entered and waited to be seated alongside people waiting at the bar waiting for a take out order. Upon immediate seating I noted the awkwardness and asked the hostess if it would be ok. She quickly reassured it would be safe distancing. As it turned out my personal concerns were legitimate but I also came across the challenge of frequent cold drafts from the opened entrance alongside the drafty windows. I've never written that a restaurant seat was too cold for me until today. Even with my coat on, I was shivering. Reseating options were apparently limited. I opted to sit in my traffic filled, cold corner. Appetizers were spot on and a highlight, including oysters (fresh with a rasberry mignonette!), roasted olives (lightly blistered with soft warm center) and whipped ricotta with charred bread topped with honey. Simple dishes with perfect texture and balanced flavor. Unfortunately limited by what is above and below. Off to a great food start atleast, I excitedly ordered the dry age rib eye (a rare find in Cincinnati --- I couldn't wait!!!). As it turned out this was out of stock for the night. My excitement minimized and my attention was turned to the award winning pork chop. The chef was kind enough to make me a pork chop that wasn't smoked given my food allergy; a plus and point of kindness that was sincerely appreciated. Unfortunately this was erased quickly by an extremely long wait time (an hour from time the food was ordered until it was delivered, which seemed to only be delivered after I asked the bar tender where my food was). The pork chop arrived. It was tough, dry, and cold upon arrival. Similarly the smashed baked potato was lack luster. I tried to quickly eat some parts of the porkchop and then forfeited the rest. At this point I found my self frustrated by the the total experience The waiter offered to get get some other food started after I shared my experience . Given I was there for two hours already, I ordered my dessert to go and asked them to move forward quickly given I lost my patience with the disappointments. Notably, Chef was kind to come and check in on me after I expressed my frustration regarding the porkchop. Given I had made the exception to go out for dinner, I was so excited to try Red Feather. While I would love to try it again, the mixed experience in the setting of the prices and pandemic makes me hesitant to fork over so much money for another potential failure. Maybe sometime, months down the road, I may try again. Until then, I would caution people that while the experience can be good here as suggested by other reviews, this may not always be the case
My wife got reservations for Red Feather to celebrate my 55th birthday. I think RF can be truly great, but our experience was mixed. The best way I can put it is by breaking down a few elements separately. Menu and entree concepts and design 5/5. Very unique and interesting takes on dishes and you won't find these dishes anywhere else. Actual food preparation 4/5. The risotto was soupy and the short rib on-plate ratio was off. Service and dining experience 3/5. The dining room was tightly packed so there was always a waiter or server sliding behind us and we were situating ourselves so we didn't bump the adjacent tables. Our waitress was nice but it was very transactional. Deliver menu. Take order. Bring check. The question we asked ourselves: is it worth the 25 min drive for the total experience versus other options? For us, not really. If we were in the area already or meeting friends, sure. Now for more detail, if you aren't bored yet. RF is one of the old school restaurants in Oakley that is built around a repurposed building from the early 1900's, and the eclectic upscale dining experience is reflected in a multi-room, multi-level seating experience and with on street parking. This is a perfect setting for a higher end, elevated farm to table eating experience. 10 years ago this was about the only style restaurant in the area. Now with Oakley Station nearby, there are many new style eateries with big parking lots in the vicinity but this remains one of the few that are chef led and food driven. The food was good. The beet salad and short rib (meat only) were exceptional in preparation. The risotto was well conceived as a dish, but from a purist standpoint it was a too soupy to be considered a good risotto. My other nitpick was the ratio of short rib to root vegetables was off. These minor points are only relevant as compared to the experience ethos of Red Feather as fine dining. The portions were on the small side which I expect for higher quality food. Just as a reminder for anyone looking for quantity. The service was very transactional. From the time we sat till the time we were done and paid was 45 min, and we ordered one appetizer. No water was brought to the table or lagniappe snack. No "welcome to the restaurant" banter or menu/food highlights or really anything. The menus were dropped, we ordered, ate, paid. Kind of like a Waffle House, but at 5x the price. Take that back, even WH offers more banter.
Definitely recommend this place! The ambiance and service was top notch- our server was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great. The whipped ricotta appetizer was one of the best parts of the meal and is a must have. The truffle fries and potato gnocchi was also phenomenal. My husband found the steak to be overcooked, even after sending it back to be re-cooked. Other than the steak, would 100% recommend this restaurant!
Looks super fancy outside, but cute and casual inside. I love the open kitchen concept, and hearing the orders called out. The whipped ricotta and baguette was my favorite. (It's an appetizer ) I would go again , the staff was great and the food was fresh.

The food was amazing! The service was alright, all around us were tables getting served quickly (who sat down after us) while my boyfriend and I sat there waiting on drinks and appetizers. I got the jalapeño cocktail and it was a great drink. Definitely try the whipped ricotta! The crispy skin salmon was very tasty but the raisin bread fell a little short because parts of it were warm and parts of it were cold. My boyfriend tried the potato gnocchi and he said it had great flavor and was filling. I would be willing to try it out again. read more

Bomb brunch spot! Have not tried for dinner yet, but can't wait to! Drive past this every day, and was expecting it to be very tiny, small plates, expensive. Boy was I wrong! Huge, fun, romantic, lively atmosphere! Fun brunch date with the girls, hubby, or family. We had a party of 12 come in and the staff was great with accommodating us! Food was mouth watering: First I must tell you they serve you beignets (as "complimentary rolls") before your main course!!! SAY WHAT?! Pancakes were FLUFFYYY!! Enough for splitting for sure! Geotta Omlet--- come on who doesn't love geotta?! To die for with the herb cheese! Hash-- was delicious as well! Will be back for brunch! Gotta make it to dinner also! Good job guys! We visited tonight (party of 8) for my parents' anniversary. We had never been, but were intrigued by the farm to table items and high ratings. It did not disappoint! The restaurant smelled delicious, and had a beautiful ambience. We didn't feel rushed, and savored it all. The butternut squash soup is a winner! So is the roasted chicken, though other family members raved about the steak, salmon, and scallops too! Don't forget the desserts, wow! We ordered many of them and shared... how can I pick a favorite? IF I had to change anything: Perhaps a few more entree choices?! I'd love to try more, and will definitely be back. read more
What a cool place. I had the feeling that it is reservation only. (We made reservations) but we did our girl's gift exchange here tonight. The ambience is so warming, the smell of "smoked" food is delicious. For appetizers we ordered the whipped ricotta which is hands down the most amazing thing i have tasted. The ricotta is creamy, sweet and the bruschetta is smoky it is phenomenal and worth every penny. We also ordered the potato gnocchi. I wish they would make this a full dish. It was perfect. It is a very small serving so it is just enough to keep you wanting more. For main entrees we had the chicken, the salmon and crab cakes and salads. The salmon came with puffy wild rice and spinach with a sauce that was all the perfect mixture and is a large cut which is very filling. We also had a bottle of the Moscato and for dessert the chocolate torte. I heard they made this smaller. To be honest it is so rich and the smoke graham crackers with the marshmallows is so much sweetness it does not need to be any bigger. Our food was delicious. Our service was outstanding. read more

I was looking for a place to take my wife out for her birthday and came across Red Feather. It was recommended by a number of people and after reading the reviews I booked it. The Saturday night we went it was beginning to snow. We walked in to a warm and inviting area with the bar on the left. Both the host and the bar tender were extroverted and made us feel welcomed. After a quick conversation with the bar tender we were shown our table. I'm not sure if the tables were more spread out for the pandemic or if that's the way they were separated normally but we felt as if the place was ours. It was great. The kitchen was off to our side and got to watch them as well as enjoy each other's company. We ordered the whipped ricotta, half chicken and the French fries. Not sure which one of those we enjoyed the most - all outstanding. Dessert was bourbon pecan pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This was our least favorite only because the pecans were whole - still very good! The partially exposed brick, the dim lighting, and the incredible smells all worked well together. Please make sure to make a reservation before going! I got there at noon and needed a table for 2, but they told me that they wouldn't have any tables until 1 pm. I was a little concerned at first, but they said I can wait for some seats at the bar to open up and luckily it did. Ordered their Oakely and thought the portion was perfect. They also gave out free beignets - which was awesome since I was starving waiting for the food. Feeling mimosa? Get the Tropical - its pretty refreshing. read more

Went to Red Feather for Sunday brunch. It was my first time trying this place out, but I can definitely say that it won't be my last. I walked into this beautifully decorated restaurant, was greeted by a very friendly staff, and sat at the bar. The bartenders were great, very nice and knowledgeable. I overheard the bartender telling one of the other customers about an apple cider mimosa that they had so I decided to try it and it was delicious. I then ordered a biscuit with the preservatives sampler which included peach bellini, strawberry, and rhubard flavors. They were all sooooo good I wanted to buy 5 jars each and take them home with me. For my entree. I ordered the special which was a steak benedict. I'm a huge benedict fan but this was my first time ever having one with steak on it. It was AMAZING. The steak was cooked perfectly and had so much flavor, and the potatoes that came on the side were super delicious as well. Overall, I had a really great dining experience here and I will be returning very soon to check out their dinner. read more
We went here for a date night after it came highly recommended to us by several friends. We have lived in the Oakley area for so long I am shocked we hadn't made it here yet! We made a reservation but did have to wait a few minutes for our table to be ready upon arrival. No big deal, we weren't in any rush. Red Feather is a Farm to Table style restaurant so they had recommended that we place our entire order so that it would come out together. We started off with cocktails and a cheese board. I ordered the chicken and oh. my. goodness. It was the best chicken I have had from a restaurant to date! My fiancé had the lamb chops and he ended picking off of my plate because he said mine was better (hah)! We did share a dessert at the end, The Apple Crisp deliciousness. We ate every last bite! Oh yeah, the price point wasn't bad either for a nice night out! We definitely plan to be back and look forward to trying whatever new items appear on the menu. read more
Ate here last night- service was fantastic! We ordered the whipped ricotta and bread to start with and it was very good. For our meals, I ordered the potato gnocchi. It was good but it needed more sauce and the portion was very small considering the price. A friend ordered the short rib and it was phenomenal. Our other friend ordered the shrimp and grits. what everybody says. Very patient staff, big selection of wine, beautiful décor, great atmosphere, pretty classy place. So I am just gonna comment on food. Oh they have parking in the back. We first had the Charcuterie Board. The waitress told us that only comes with meat but we can do two meets and a cheese or two cheese and a meat (that was nice) so we got one cheese. The smoke salmon had beautiful color and the pickled mushroom was to die for. Decent size too. I was actually getting quite full. Highly Recommend. Pork Belly Steamed Bun. Three pieces. Pretty heavy as well. We added some of the pickled things from the board to lighten up the flavor. Still great. Then we got the Lamb Rack. The told us it is the smallest entrée with three lollipops of lamb. I was like is this enough for both of us then so far? She said well, the lamb does come with a huge pile of onion straws. LOL k let me just fill myself up with them onion straws. $30+ for lamb, pricy, but tasty. Lastly we got the burger. WAAAAAAY too much food at that point. We really didn't need to burger. But yolo. The burger was perfectly medium rare, with the sweetness from the marmalade. No complaints. And yes, it does take a while to get the food. Total bill was about 100 with a glass of wine and a beer. Not bad but we only got one entrée. You should go. It was a very enjoyable meal. read more

An excellent dinner spot but they really shine for brunch, for the quality of food, service and ease of making a reservation it has to be one of the best brunch spots in cincinnati. --- Service: open table reservation was easy to make, I was sat instantly when I arrived. Our waitress was Lydia, she was fantastic and really I can't think of anything negative to say. Food: Biscuits with preserves: clearly homemade, better than boomtowns biscuits IMHO, tomato jam was my favorite preserve Baltimore Benedict: overall pretty solid, would have preferred if the muffin underneath the crab cake was a little more solid. Potatoes were great, Tasso hollandaise was good They threw in some complementary beignets which were okay but free so I can't hold them against them Coffee: initially I was wishing they left a mug but I'll be darned if my coffee mug never even got half full, it was always instantly refilled --- Overall excellent brunch spot read more
We came to red feather this past Saturday. I must say, our service was absolutely phenomenal. The waiter knew exactly what he was talking about and was very knowledgeable and great in guiding us on what entrees to order as long as what drinks to pair with them. In terms of food, I will say it was OK. We ordered the lamb rack, the sea bass special, the roasted olives, and the potato gnocchi. The waiter also treated us with a tres leches cake since we came for a birthday celebration. For appetizers/sides, these were the best part of the meal. I really enjoyed the gnocchi, however, it was over salted. I also really enjoyed the roasted olives. As I was looking over the entree menu, I'll have to admit, I wasn't blown away. It's another typical restaurant with the typical short rib, steak, chicken dish, etc. menu. In terms of what we ordered, the lamb rack was pretty tender, but it came with a side of onion straws that essentially took up the whole platter. At the end of it, there really wasn't much lamb at all in the dish. The bass special was pretty good. I enjoyed the two aoli that the dish came with. The fish itself was cooked pretty well and the rice was also ok. I personally enjoy wild rice a little drier since it has a better texture to it, but besides that, the flavors in the dish were tied together nicely. The tres leches cake for dessert was ok. I really enjoyed the meringues that the cake came garnished with--they were the lightest, fluffiest meringues I've ever had. In terms of the cake itself, it really didn't have that authentic, milky flavor you would normally expect from a tres leches cake. It was dusted in cinnamon and caramel as well, which didn't really let the flavors of the cake shine. Overall, there was great service at Red Feather, but the food came in a little short. read more

We had our Sweetest Day dinner out on Friday; my husband made reservations at Red Feather. The restaurant is definitely rocking the modern-rustic vibe, and the dim lighting gives it a warm feeling. The hubs went with the Corpse Reviver #2 [first image, item 1] for his cocktail, which features Absinthe as an ingredient. I've never seen Absinthe on a menu before so I was intrigued. It was a strong drink, but suitable for sipping. I had The Resurrection - vodka, blackberries, lime, and prosecco. We started with the Whipped Ricotta [second image] as our starter. This appetizer features grilled baguette, truffle, honey, and EVOO. Such a surprising blend of flavors that ended up being quite delectable. However, the baguette was a bit too chewy; perhaps a crisper bread would have been a better accompaniment. After we finished this dish, we were served complimentary bread. The butter was soft, and the bread was warm and soft on the inside with a good crust on the outside. Sadly, their entrees didn't afford a vegetarian option, but there were a couple of intriguing items on the Small Plates menu. The waiter said that these were roughly appetizer-for-one-sized. Hubs got the Sweet Potato Agnolotti [fourth image], which was a really tasty dish with a flavorful sauce. Overall, the dish leaned a touch more sweet than was ideal. I had the Potato Gnocchi [image 5], a fantastically rich dish that hubs described as divine. There really is no better word for gnocchi done right. For dessert, I opted for the Chocolate Torte, which was described as being similar to a s'more. It had the s'more elements, but it was really the rich chocolate flavor that stood out. Hubs had the Tres Leches Cake, which was encased in meringue and had an overall coconut flavor. All in all, we had an enjoyable dining experience at Red Feather. Hubs described it as having all the trappings of an upscale restaurant, but it had an overall casual atmosphere. I'm not sure that I completely agree; any place that comes around with a special device to collect all of your crumbs between courses (AKA a crumb scraper), is not really a place I would refer to as casual. We stopped by for brunch while in the area. It is a charming restaurant with plenty of room for groups and also comfortable enough for couples or single diners. We actually ate at the bar as we did not have a reservation. Right after we sat down we were given on the house benets! Lovely! We both ordered a breakfast dish. I had the the shrimp and grits while my wife had the Eggs Benedict. Both were very good! And the staff couldn't be nicer! We'll definitely give it a second go. read more
Like the atmosphere. Service is good and they say they make everything fresh. They don't have a lot of healthy items on menu - which perhaps is why I didn't give it 5 stars. Would like to see some better options for those wanting to eat well. Had the charcuterie, which was a bit disappointing (while they did add cheese upon request - there wasn't much of it and the meats were a bit weird for my taste). Had the flank steak as my entree. It tasted good, but it was a very very small portion - there was a decent amount of meat but not enough accompaniments (esp the romain salad - literally 2 small pieces of lettuce). My partners burger looked amazing - and they gave him an enormous pile of fries (way too much really- prob 4000 calories worth!). We've been here for brunch awhile back and really enjoyed. read more

I stopped in just before close on a late Wednesday night and bellied up to the bar. This was my first visit to the Red Feather Kitchen and I was really impressed with the entire experience. Although the staff was starting their closing routines, it did not impact their service, quality, or timing. This is a great place for a romantic evening I enjoyed a Manhattan while asking the bartender for recommendations and a little history. I had heard everything in this restaurant was good before I came, it was reiterated by the bartender, and confirmed when eating three small dishes. I sampled the perfectly cooked Potato Gnocchi, the delicious and "notorious" P.I.G. and their scrumptious burger. Potato Gnocchi described as pecorino, truffled mushroom marsala cream melted in my mouth with every bite. P.I.G. is described in menu as "crispy pork rillette, 6 minute farm egg, pickled shallot, pork jus, frisée" which is just a long way to say delicious. So many textures and flavors in every bite kept the fork in my hand prepping for the next bite. Burger described as "boursin", candied bacon, red onion marmalade, french fries. Where has this combination been all of my life?! I recommend coming here and splitting as many dishes as you can or coming back frequently to try every last one of them. Very nice hostess and server. - loved the fois gras special as well as the pork belly buns - the bread pudding was superb. - the halibut and the lamb chops were pretty good. Not outstanding but good. - good wine list. Loved the red blend we ordered. - nice crusty bread Cons: - I shared the 32 oz bone in cowboy steak. It's a nice thick cut, but was made a little too close to medium rather than medium rare. It was a bit chewy and not melt in your mouth delicious.Also, the steak needed salt. - Most of the dishes didn't come with vegetables. This was literally the best meal that I have EVER had!!!! The flavor combinations, taste, texture, quality and seasoning of each of the dishes was excellent. Finally a place in Cincinnati that is high quality and legit mind blowing delicious. This is the type of place that the area has been lacking. The staff was phenomenal. We were sat at the chef's table. If you are a foodie and love to watch the art craft of food being prepared and plates this is the table for you. We enjoyed the squash, pig's ear and peach for our appetizers. For our main course we had the shrimp tacos and the short rib. Dessert was the bourbon pecan pie. Can I just say that there wasn't one thing that we dined on that we wouldn't order again. Our goal is to explore the whole menu! The food at Red Feather is pretty good and I love that they are a scratch made kitchen. The ambience at Red Feather was amazing!! From the time we walked in to the time we left. I loved the warm and cozy feel. The staff is also extremely nice. I had my daughter with me so I ordered the Potato Gnocchi for her. The Potato Gnocchi was very good and the cream sauce that accompanied it was good as well. It was cooked perfect and tasted awesome. I ordered the Short Ribs for my entree. I hardly ever order short ribs when I go out, but every blue moon I do. This dish was by far the most creative short rib dish I have had. It consisted of Short Rib, Hopi blue polenta, pineapple, red onion, serrano mint pico, piment d'espelette popcorn. Everything was good but the popcorn did through me off. It was the only thing I felt didn't belong on the plate. It didn't serve a purpose besides looks. It also tasted stale and didn't have any crunch or crispness (as if it was fresh). I did like the play on salty/sweet. The short ribs themselves were very flavorful and tender. You didn't need a knife. It was a little fatty in some places but overall, it was a good dish. I also ordered a dessert. After asking the waiter for suggestions, she raved about the Rum Raisin Bread Pudding. :/ in my opinion it wasn't that good. The hint of rum with the raisin was good, but it wasn't the best bread pudding I've had. It honestly wasn't anything special. It also wasn't served warm. I like warm bread pudding. Overall, Red Feather was pretty good and I enjoyed my dining experience. I would like to come back to try other dinner options as well as try their brunch. read more

My partner and I arrive and the place is packed. We are told its an hour wait, so we find a corner to stand in and wait it out. Miraculously a table appears...the chef's table. Presented as a hot loud cramped table. It was anything but that. The place was packed and somehow it felt still and intimate. The fire pit provided a hearthy comfort. Sitting at the chef's table main perk being the wonderful line. Getting to hear the joshing, watching how well the servers ran their food, no one hovered, everyone was working. One of the cooks even told us a super funny joke. The character at Red Feather matched its food. Simple, humble, bold, balanced, and well prepared. Drinks - My partner had the bloody mary bar and I had the tropical mimosa. Our server suggested we start off with the biscuits - served with a bourbon compote and strawberry preserve. A simple dish but the taste was amazing. The biscuit was cooked perfectly and took the place of Pleasantries in OTR as my new favorite biscuit. There was a crisp flakiness on the outside and warm comfy layers on the inside. The compote was balanced and not too sweet. When I wanted to complain about having to wait long for our next dish an order of beignets was sent to us. I like to take this time to say...best beigne's in Cincy so far. Crisp on the outside and a light texture on the inside. It wasnt too doughy perfectly spongy. My partner had the egss baltimore and I had the shrip and grits. The crab cakes were seared to prefection and reminded me of humble hearty home food but creatively presented. The tasso hollandaise was a nice twist on a classic sauce. And we got our money's worth priced at 15$ we could not even finish the dish. And it was not for lack of trying. The shrimp and grits...OMG Oh My Gawd! Simply orgasmic. The broth with the dish took it to another level. The arugula gave the dish a nice cleansing taste. We spent 90$ with gratuity and it was worth every dollar.
