Pulled up and sat there for a few minutes with no acknowledgment... no "be right with you," nothing. That alone has you second guessing whether anyone is there, whether you should just go inside, whether you should leave. Not a great way to start. We placed our order and as we were wrapping up asked if we could swap out a donut. Silence. Got to the window, workers were just moving at their own pace and didn't acknowledge us for about 5 minutes. When someone finally came over we asked again about swapping the donut and she said "oh I heard you before." So she heard us at the speaker and just... didn't respond. That's not a small thing. Donuts were ok, nothing special. The small black coffee kept leaking out the side... lid was on tight, coffee wasn't filled to the top, so something is off with the lids. We must stop and get some for an afternoon snack. We enter the store and see a display case with layers and rows of colorful morning sweetness. It is a challenge for sure. The lemon coated and the plumpy round Raspberry filled were her favorites. I'm going for the mound of an Apple Fritter. It was an easy sale for the friendly gentleman behind the counter. They don't know how to brew coffee here. Some days it's insanely strong like crude oil. Other days it's very watered down and weak. Here's why... When you brew coffee, the first half of the brew cycle is strong while the last part of the brew cycle is weak. Overall it balances itself out when the full brewing cycle is finished. But If you cheat and steal a cup of coffee early while it's still brewing, you're serving somebody insanely strong coffee. You're also throwing off the entire balance of the brew process and all other customers that come afterwards get a weak cup of coffee. Solution... tell customers they need to wait for the brew cycle to finish before they can get their cup of coffee. read more

I stopped by Randy's Donuts this morning planning to pick up three dozen donuts for my CSR team at work. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. When I walked in, the employee behind the counter looked directly at me but did not greet me or acknowledge that I was there. I noticed he was working alone, so I waited patiently. However, even after about five minutes, I still had not been acknowledged. During that time, he continued taking orders from the drive-through and answering the phone, but never once addressed the customers standing inside the store. While I was waiting, a mother and her son came in after taking a selfie outside with the famous giant Randy's Donut sign. They were also never greeted or acknowledged. After waiting around 10 minutes without any acknowledgment as a paying customer--or even a simple "I'll be right with you"--I finally gave up and walked out. I had already wasted part of my morning and ended up leaving without the donuts because I needed to get to work. I was ready to spend around $80, but instead left with nothing due to the lack of basic customer service. A simple greeting or acknowledgment would have gone a long way, even if the employee was busy. Randy's Donuts is an iconic place, but the morning staff should understand that customer service matters, even when you're working alone. I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled to say something after what I witnessed early this morning around 6 a.m. I was in the drive-thru line nothing out of the ordinary, about four cars. Then suddenly, a white man looked to be in his late 40s got out of his car in a rage. He banged on my window and another car, yelling at us to "move the hell out of the way" so he could leave. I was frightened. His anger was unprovoked and disturbing. He ended up going inside the restaurant, and by the time I reached the drive-thru window, I could hear everything that's how loud he was. He went inside the store and first thing he did was scream at the top of his lungs at the staff calling them "retarded," "stupid," and "slow." The language he used was cruel and completely uncalled for. I also heard him threatening specifically the young woman working behind the counter. I heard a "I will find you" I honestly feared for her safety. No one should be treated like that especially not employees who are clearly doing their best while understaffed. The young cashier was visibly shaken, her hands trembling as she gave me back my card. She looked like she was on the verge of an anxiety attack. My heart broke for her. Randy's, please do better. Protect your staff. No one should have to endure that kind of abuse just for showing up to work.
