My go to donut spot! I frequent this place at least twice a week and never have I been disappointed in the quality. The couple that runs the shop are extremely polite and they know what I usually order. My go to donut, the chocolate bar! Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the chocolate is not overpowering and just plain perfect. Did I mention that its only a buck and some change, unlike other fancy donut joints. read more

I wanted to love this place! We were looking for a new donut shop in Costa Mesa and this has a very high rating. When we walked in, the woman behind the counter wasn't wearing a mask. I said, "No mask?" She said, "I got mask," and looked toward the kitchen. We're seniors and used to go for donuts once a week and now haven't gone in months because of the coronavirus. The State regulations call for masks in public and have very definite regulations for places serving food. We won't patronize any business unless the staff are wearing masks. Who wants someone coughing on their food in these times? read more

Was terribly craving a donut, and not just any donut but an apple fritter. I don't eat donuts often. A quick search and decided to try this place. Is a small mom and pop donut shop. Reviews look particularly good so headed over to get my apple fritter. I was disappointed. Was a bit over cooked and had barely any apple or spice. It was huge and looked double frosted, but I really wanted a spicy apple filled treat. Everything else looked about the same. Probably not bad for your typical donuts as most of these reviews are raving about them, but for me I don't eat them enough to eat a marginal donut. read more

I recently had Any Old Time Donuts provide donuts for a community event that I was hosting. They had the donuts ready on time and even helped me load them in my car. Everyone kept asking where the donuts were from and said they were delicious and melted in your mouth. They were a hit! read more

For Saturday morning, it was nice and quiet. Parking was easy...(right in front ) She served us quick. She gave me a large cup(as requested ) for a small cup of coffee. Donuts were good. Muffin was large. Kids asked for a cup of water. It came with dirt in it. Like 5 pieces of dirt. My second kid asked for a cup.of water. More dirt in the water. Need donuts for work, an event, whatever? Lovely assortment of So Cal mom and pop donuts. Super affordable and of course, CASH ONLY. Fortunately located right next to a 7-Eleven and their fee-free credit union machines. Stopped by this morning and got two dozen donuts and they even threw in the holes. The old guys previously mentioned were also present. Feels super local and friendly. read more

I don't like leaving anything less than 4 stars - however, sometimes you come across an establishment that earns the dreaded 1 star. In this case, "Any Old Time Donuts" earned a 1 Star today. *******Warning******* CASH ONLY!!! It's a big deal these days- I mean, companies have accepted various forms of payment for a long time lol. If you're like me, I don't carry cash often- rarely really. I have Apple Pay, too many cards etc... but they only take cash here. Unfortunate because I would've spent $6 in donuts, instead I spent $2. That's all!!! read more

For years my husband brought home the most delicious donuts. Yummy little pink boxes simply appeared filled with delicious assortments; though I never knew from where. We are talking years. One day I got my nails done next door to Old Time, and ran in to take him home a treat. I was driving his car, and the shop owner recognized it! Holy cow. Apparently this was THE source of all those delicious filled little pink boxes we'd been enjoying forever. The shop certainly doesn't look special, but looks can be deceiving, and they are, because those folks KNOW THEIR DOUGHNUTS. We've probably sampled nearly everything in her cases over the years, and all I can offer is: Fresh fresh fresh and always superb. Sure it's gluten and fat, calories and carbs; and if we're gonna go down that particular road of indulgence, then it should be worth it: Their doughnuts make it worth it. read more

I have been frequenting this mom and pop donut place for 10ish years and it is always consistently good. I especially like their cinnamon rolls which have different topping options. I love the maple and the traditional they are cooked well slightly crispy outside NEVER wet undercooked on the inside. Same with the Old Fashioned. They have good prices too! I am writing this review because I drove through the place on Newport and the donuts were gross made me realize how I take this place for granted. The décor and strip-mall is old and tired but not dodgy ( I secretly want to rename this place Donuthole in the Wall haha). Service is pleasant and there is often a group of Old Timers sitting out front. Right now (Covid) outdoor eating only. Proprietor was wearing a mask. A big name chain is coming close by -probably scary for them. Please help support small business! read more

This place has lots of dedicated customers who sit in and read the paper with their coffee and treats. they have great specials: $5.75 for a basic dozen, $6.50 for dozen glazed. add-ons for things like twists and cinnamon rolls. The donuts are super fresh in the mornings, way better than 7-11 next door or Stater Bros down the street. Reaalllly tasty glazed donuts, old-fashioneds are good. LOOOOOOVE the glazed crumb donut. Awesome shop! Went by to pick up donuts for an early morning AYSO soccer game. When the owner asked if I was getting a dozen, I explained I only had $10 cash, and works be getting just 9 or so. I got to $10 worth, and he said "keep going," and offered a dozen for the price. With customer service like that, I'll be back! read more

These donuts are really delicious. Problem is there are always fruit flies in the case. Also, they are never open. There are no posted hours so you just have to try and see if they're open. They also do the same poor business practice of never making enough bc it's better to turn away customers than throw away excess. I hate that. read more

Have you ever had a bad donut? I have. (Yes, it's possible). Does this place make bad donuts? No. Had the chocolate-covered, old-fashioned donut. It was fresh and tasty. It was solid. It's what you would expect a donut to taste like. It's no California Donuts, but it does the job. It does the job well enough for me to bring a dozen to work and share. read more

However, my husband said the cold brew was just okay and it was packed with ice to the point you couldn't stick the straw in the lid. Probably just needed more matcha/espresso? Luxurious ?vinyl green booths line the walls, with light wood and bright interior. The greenery was a lovely touch. Seems like a pretty place to work or study. Cat shirt merch was very cute. I probably would get the green shirt if it had a small design on the front left and maybe bigger design on back rather than a large design with words om the front. The ube matcha was good. It was very creamy and had a prominent ube flavor. My friend said her double matcha was good, but a bit pricey! With the substitution of oat milk, her total came out to $9! I tried both the regular iced matcha with blueberry and the special iced matcha with matcha cold foam, and both were absolutely delicious. The only downside is that the parking lot is a bit small, but that's a minor issue. This location is located behind the Wahoo's Fish Taco Overall, I really loved this place and will definitely be coming back to try their other drinks

this place is AWESOME! i have been going here for years and the owners are super duper nice and helpful! the donuts here are so sweet and yummy and the dough is just mhmmmmm. (that's the sound you make when you eat their donuts). i really enjoy their low prices and their donut holes. it is so ingenious to sell donut holes because they're literally the holes of the donut. like how did i just RECENTLY learn that. i love that the donut holes are the perfect size for swallowing them in a single bite! i got a dozen for a reunion that i went to and they were the highlight of the party. i also LOVEEEE their cream cheese croissants but they sell out fast some days so you should come early to try them! their pineapple and cheese croissants were interesting and tasty as well but i love the OG. it was a bit too sweet for me so i would recommend just the regular cream cheese ones! i'll also glaze their glazed donuts. they are the love of my life, my one and only, the awesome, original, glazed donuts. boy oh boy where do i even begin??? these donuts...honey, my sweet treats. i have loved you ever since i first laid eyes on you at any old time donuts. the way you glisten under the glaze and strike a craving into your admirers' hearts. your soft, airy interior, and that delectable icing. i would do anything for you. i wish it were possible to have an endless supply of you so i would never have to experience the disappointment of being without you until the next day when i step foot into this donut shop. you, my glazed king, have given me so much joy and satisfaction over the years. i remember when i first tasted your sweet, glazed goodness, and it was like my taste buds found their true love. not only have you changed my donut game forever, but you've eternally changed my world. i love you, my glorious glazed donuts. it's so simple yet they just nail it on the head. well obviously, they should, given that they have been in business for THIRTY PLUS years!!! omfg that's older than me. 5 FREAKING STARS! read more

I probably wouldn't have tried Old Time Donuts if I hadn't seen it pop up online, but I'm really glad I did. It's one of those spots that's easy to miss, tucked away and no-frills, but it's the real deal. The maple glazed donut was excellent: simple, fresh, and exactly what you want it to be. No gimmicks, just done right. This is the kind of place that reminds you why classic donut shops still matter. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area. read more

Best donuts in OC the shop owner is so friendly and the donuts made great daily. They have been their for over 25 years. I have started going since I was a kid. I would highly recommend and it is the best ever. My favorites are their donut holes with sprinkles. The owners are super nice as well. read more
