I've been coming here for about four years because it's close to home, and I've brought my son here many times as well as purchased dozens of donuts for birthdays and my team members at work. Unfortunately, after my last two experiences, I will not be returning. On my previous visit, we ordered bagels with cream cheese and received barely any cream cheese. When I politely asked for more and offered to pay for it, the interaction was uncomfortable, but I decided to give the shop another chance. Today, my son specifically asked to come back for a donut and bagel. We were the only customers eating inside. Shortly after receiving our food, an employee began mopping the very small dining area with a strong Pine Sol solution. The door were open, there was no air conditioning, and the chemical smell became so overwhelming that I told him I was having difficulty breathing and asked about it. Rather than simply waiting until we finished eating, he argued that other customers like the smell and that no one else complains. Eventually he said he would stop while I was there, but by that point the entire interaction had become unnecessarily uncomfortable. Other employees were also speaking loudly from the back, and the overall atmosphere made my son and me feel extremely unwelcome. I don't expect perfection, and I'm usually very understanding about service issues. But customers should be able to sit down and finish their food without strong cleaning chemicals being mopped around their table, and a reasonable concern should be met with courtesy rather than an argument. After supporting this neighborhood business for four years, including larger purchases for my workplace, it's disappointing to say I won't be returning or recommending it. There are simply too many other places where customers are made to feel welcome. Please note: this is a VERY polite version of what happened. This was an awful experience. Macarthur exit and it is inside the Chevron, Newport North Cleaners, Total Wine, Champagne Restaurant and beside Newport Beach Optometry plaza. Since it is located near Fashion Island, it's likely their rent is high which leads into their prices being on the higher end where regular sized donuts elsewhere are $1.50-$1.75 would be $2.50 to $4.95 per donut. A Vietnamese Iced Coffee is normally $2-4 and here, it is $6.95. Everything here is about 3 times higher in cost, where I left paying $25 for a Vietnamese iced coffee, a regular glazed donut with fruity pebbles for my child and a Sausage/Egg and Bagel. Inside, walking in there are fans cooling this business but during this heat wave, it remains humid. The donut case has a variety of donuts, although it has no door to close it off from anything that could fly in. Customer service is fairly quick, it is busy because those in the area who live here are likely accustomed to the prices. However, this was our only stop in and last visit here. read more

Great donuts! I finally got custom letter donuts from here for a birthday. Placing the order was simple as I called the store a day before I wanted to pickup with my specifications. You're able to pick out the letters and sprinkles, glaze. They came out fresh and each letter was large in height. The custom letters are $5.25 per letter as of November 2025. Even the donut holes (usually my source of judgement on the quality & yumminess of a donut) they were like little pops of soft sugary loafs of heaven. Ughhh. But not too sweet! It's not overpowering in sweetness. This place is so good! I can't speak on their coffee or donuts, but their breakfast burrito was amazing. It is simple with eggs, cheese, bacon, potatoes, and sausage. It is served hot, fresh, and with a hot salsa dip. Each bite was so flavorful and delicious. The burrito takes awhile to make so be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes depending on how busy it is. I went in the morning and the service was slow, but the line moved quick. There is plenty of space to park in this plaza. The inside of the place is small with a few tables and chairs. I am basing my rating for my second visit and a little on my first. The reason why my first visit wasn't so great was because even though the donuts were good and employees were nice, I did notice some flies roaming over the donuts and it's because it was so hot that day and they kept the door open. The second visit I came first thing when they opened and it was fine. Also I wanted to order their donut letters but it was $4.25 for each letter!!!! That's so pricey! My brother had a craving for Boston Creme donuts. In his search for donuts, he came across Mag's Donuts and Bakery. He figured he'd give it a whirl and ordered a dozen for delivery, and I'm so glad he did because Mag's bavarian cream filled donuts definitely hit the spot. The dough alone speaks for itself. The dough was noticeably soft, fresh, and everything you'd expect from a good donut. I was worried the dough may be dry or wouldn't taste fresh and like the donuts had been sitting out for a while, which I feel is sadly the case for most donut shops, but I'm happy to say that was not the case at all with Mag's Donuts. The dough was perfectly soft and SO good and made the whole experience better. The Bavarian cream filling was the cherry on top of these donuts. They had the perfect amount of cream filling. Not too much, not too little, which I appreciate because most donut shops are stingy with their custard filling. Not Mag's Donuts. They give you the perfect amount, so you get some in almost every bite. Overall, I would give these donuts easily 5 out of 5 stars and hope to try more donuts from Mag's donuts because they are donut goals! read more

I came here on an early morning before watching my 2 month old granddaughter! My son in law suggested. It has a nice appearance on the outside and looks clean and smells nice on the inside! I ordered two plain croissants for my daughter and my almost 2 year old granddaughter. I ordered a jalapeño ham and cheese croissant for myself! The workers there seem nice.
