Coming here for decades. And usually never on a weekend especially during summer but today we happen to be in the area and popped in for an nostalgic doughnut. I kind of blacked out and didn't take any interior photos, but I took one of the small line out front which curves around the building. It moves quickly, so bring your patience and be nice to people. I think the donuts always taste really good. Not too sweet. Good selection always well stopped especially at 10:30 in the morning. They have a good assortment of coffee drinks as well as cold beverages. Their steps from Newport Beach and the pier. Parking can be very challenging on the weekends, but there are some municipal lot. I like the crumb doughnut and I also love to give you two little donut holes just a really nice family.
While walking along the sidewalk in Newport Beach, California, my daughter and I caught the irresistible smell of fresh donuts. We looked at each other and instantly knew we had to stop and get some! When we walked into the shop, we were greeted with a warm welcome and a friendly, "How may I help you?" They had a wonderful variety of donuts, but we already knew exactly which flavor we wanted. When my daughter placed our order, they asked if we wanted a dozen. Of course! We couldn't resist taking home a dozen of our favorite. The service was friendly, the shop was super cute, and the donuts were absolutely delicious. If you're in Newport Beach and catch that amazing aroma, do yourself a favor and stop in you won't regret it!
Seaside Donuts never disappoints! Definitely a must try when you're in Newport! I love the blueberry old fashioned donut
The Strawberry Smoothie ($7.00) was HUGE. The Green Thai Tea ($4.50) was highly recommended, but it was too sweet. The Ham & Cheese Croissant ($4.50) was delicious! It was warmed up and the cheese was very melty. My Apple Fritter ($3.00) was burnt. Overall, this place has great prices with relatively good food. We arrived around 8:30pm--total wait time of ~20 minutes for all food/drinks!!
Donuts are mid. Green Thai tea is really good though. Great spot to enjoy the food on the beach! Always the go-to for late nights, and it never disappoints.
This spot is a staple of OC. I've been coming for the past 10 years whether it's during the day or at 2am. It's 24 hours which is great. Almost all the time, there will be a line out the door. It's a small shop located in front of the beach. The workers are friendly and work quickly. I love their green Thai tea and ham and cheese with jalepeno croissant. The green Thai tea will definitely keep you awake if you're caffeine sensitive. An awesome spot to come with friends for a bite at the beach or late night snack.
Cam here super late at night on a Saturday and it was surprisingly not as fisted as it could be. Probably because it was Coachella weekend and the usual crowd is there instead (just a hypothesis, don't shoot the messenger). We had around 10+ people ahead of us, but the line moved super fast and most of those people were just a cluster of people in the same group/party who didn't want to get separated. Workers were super efficient and they have the system down to a tee to handle the larger crowds. Went in to order and left with everything in around 5 minutes tops. Pretty polite and friendly with the limited interaction as well. We got 4 donuts and 2 drinks and this was under $20, I believe, not too bad considering there's more egregious donut places out there. We got their green/regular Thai tea and the green/regular Thai tea donuts. Donuts were not too sticky had the strong green and regular Thai tea taste to them. Still had a nice texture the next day, but even without it being too cold, the icing stuck to the paper and mostly peeled off, so my brother had to use his teeth to scrape it off, but still good. Just an FYI so you can take them out and put them in a different container if you want to avoid this. The drinks were standard green Thai tea and Thai tea drinks, a bit sweet, but that means you can just take it home and dilute it out later. Location is great for being around the beach and near so many things to do, so they draw in a crowd. Being 24/7 is a huge plus too. Though these things are standard with some other donut places, which makes me think that this is an overall standard donut place too. No fancy bells or whistles, except the Thai tea flavors and I guess the cronuts. We were able to find free street parking and just walk there which wasn't too bad. Can't imagine how fisted it is during a more busier time though. Good to try at least once in your life.
Definitely not what it used to be. We came in late morning on Saturday. There was a small line which is much better than nighttime. We ordered 3 croissants, cream and jalapeño, Turkey and cheese, Turkey and cheese jalapeño, and a green Thai tea. All the croissants felt like there was too much bread and not enough filling. I had to eat more than half of the bread to find very little cream cheese inside. The bread on this croissant is better than the one for the Turkey and cheese though. Green Thai tea was good but I the regular is much better. Green Thai tea has a more floral taste, kinda reminds me of pandan-ish.
Seaside Donuts Bakery is a reliable 24-hour spot in a prime Newport Beach location. The donuts were pretty standard, but the jalapeño ham and cheese croissant was our favorite. It was nice that the staff offered to warm it up. The main draws are its affordability, convenience, and grab-and-go setup. No seating, and parking is paid unless you're lucky to find space in the nearby neighborhoods. Bring cash for the 4% discount.
Stopped by Seaside Donuts Bakery while visiting the beach, and it did not disappoint! The donuts were fresh, soft, and full of flavor. Everything tasted like it had just been made, and the quality really stood out. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and provided quick service even though it was busy. The location is perfect for grabbing breakfast or a sweet treat before or after a walk along the ocean. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend stopping by. I'll be back the next time I'm in town!
Hellllll yeah! I love a donut place that is simple and not complicated. I don't need a ton of crap on top of my donut. I just want a simple, chocolate glazed donut, which is what they have! This is a grab and go place and their prices are so good. It wasn't expensive at all like I thought it would be due to the location. I got a chocolate glazed donut with sprinkles and a banana. They also have muffins and croissants as well. They're also SO fast. The staff was really nice and just go straight to the point, which I appreciated. Even when we were in a longer line, it went sooo fast because everything is really grab and go. Again, no where to sit inside, but hey, grab that donut and take it down to the beach or pier. That's all you really need. We came back two days in a row because it was so tasty.
Stopped in for an afternoon donut last weekend. My husband got a cronut and I got a glazed old fashioned. I had a bit of the cronut and WOW it was phenomenal. *drool* We both said that it is better than our current, now previous, #1 cronut that is/was at a donut shop by our house. The old fashioned was also tasty.

We did indeed come here at 1pm instead of 1am, but wow the green thai tea did live up to the hype LOL lt was like $4 for a small, but the small size was a pretty big cup. Where else are you gonna find that in this economy!! It was reallyyy sweet though, but I feel like if you're coming here you should be craving a pretty sweet treat! The fruity pebbles chocolate donut was solid too! I also tried the ham & cheese croissant and it was sooo tasty but it was definitely a little soggier than ideal after they warmed it up. I wish the croissant was crispy. But it did balance out all the sweet treats haha. Service was so quick and workers are so sweet! read more

I came here on a Friday afternoon and there was still a great selection of donuts to choose from. I got the maple cake donut, and my husband got the fruity pebbles glaze donut. Both were excellent and tasted very fresh. Service was friendly and helpful. They were very patient as I found it to be a very hard decision lol. The shop is small but easy to get in and out and it was nice and clean. read more
Came here around 9am on a Sunday and it wasn't very crowded but we still had to wait in line. The donuts are more affordable than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the Thai tea donut which was so flabbergastingly amazing it made the 40 min drive worth it. I also ordered the ham and cheese croissant and green Thai tea. Both items made my entire year because it is that good and flavorful. They are all pretty sweet though and I have a huge sweet tooth so it was perfect. The location is right next to the beach and the Sunday farmers market. The sidewalk is nice for a stroll. I parked in a parking lot a few blocks away closer to the street which was only $2 an hour. But it fills up super duper fast and it was almost full even at 9am. read more
Came around 2 on tuesday, not busy. We jus got an apple fritter. It was thinner than others, nice crisp, lwk had a burnt taste tho. They also put too much icing for my liking so it was too sweet. Jus a reg donut shop nothing too special. read more

Such a nostalgic spot to visit when I get a chance! I highly recommend coming here during the day to avoid all the lines! (even thought part of the fun is going at night for the vibes haha) The jalapeño ham and cheese croissant was just as yummy as I remembered and the cheese was melted so perfectly. A SoCal classic that I was excited to try for the first time! We came on a Thursday night and it wasn't busy at all. We got the green Thai tea donut, Thai tea donut and a cronut. My favorite was the green tea donut. It was so pleasant! My cousins also tried the actual green Thai tea and it was so yummy. A bit sweet but sees like a good treat. I always love supporting a Khmer owned business! read more
This place is so nostalgic! I used to come here often with my friends I high school and now I find myself trying to come here more to relive my high school days. The ladies there are always nice and ready to service us. The space is always clean and stocked with the donuts I'm looking for. Their donuts are always so airy and sweet! I got their Thai tea donut. When people talk about iconic donut shops in Orange County, Seaside always pop ups. A staple of Newport Beach since the 80s, it's always been a popular late night hang out spot for local college kids or elder millennials up past their bedtime after a show at the local club. We went here recently after a show at about 2 AM and stood in line for 30 minutes for two donuts and a drink. The donuts are continuously made from scratch and there were never shortages. The thai tea matcha donut was quite tasty and the custard donut (Boston creme analog) always slaps. Parking is easy at night, but during the day can be limited with parking. read more

Stopped by to check out this popular donut spot! It was good, but nothing really blew our minds. We got the cronut, blueberry donut, maple cake donut, chocolate donut, and chocolate croissant. Cronut: I was most excited to try this one and ate it immediately as we left the store. It was too doughy and not enough croissant texture. Disappointing :( Blueberry donut: It was good, but I've had better (M&Ms in Anaheim) Maple cake donut and chocolate donut: both were pretty good and standard. You can't go wrong with these classics! Chocolate croissant: Saved this one for the next day to toast in our air fryer. It was good, but again.. nothing too special. It could have been from anywhere. Seaside Donuts is located in a nice beachfront location that elevates the donut eating experience. There's paid parking around the area. We have been coming to Seaside Donuts for years! Each time we are in the eara we make sure to stop by and grab some donuts, or donut holes, or both! This little donut shop has great prices, great flavor, and it is right on the beach!! On our last trip the service was great, we got a few donuts and donut holes. 10/10 would recommend, vibes (ambiance) are high!!! read more
Clean location and friendly service. Stopped by to pick up a couple of donuts and they were all pretty good. Their blueberry donut was really sweet, but tasty. I really liked their jalapeno, cheese, and ham croissant warmed up and their sugar cronut. They had lots of options like green Thai tea donuts to raspberry jelly and custard chocolate. read more
Seaside Donuts is a Newport Beach institution. Open 24 hours, it's popular with locals and UCI students. I came in the morning and found no line, but have heard that it's more popular at night. My daughter said the must order items are the green Thai iced tea and the ham and cheese croissant. Their croissants are pretty reasonable - $4.50 for the ham and cheese. Definitely have them heat it up if you're eating there. My husband got the turkey, cheese and jalapeño ($4.75) and enjoyed it at the beach. I don't know what kind of cheese they use, but it's got the perfect melt. I got a spinach and cheese croissant ($3.25), which paled in comparison. I can see why Seaside is so famous! Free parking in the lot after 6pm. read more

Only amazing things to say for this wonderful staple of OC. Seaside has amazing baked goods and delicious foods and drinks that they offer. Service is always top notch, no matter how crowded and busy they are. It is very popular and they still manage to serve with good service and with a smile. Amazing ambiance as it overlooks the amazing beach of Newport City, Seaside is a MUST visit for anyone , would always recommend. read more
I visited this donut shop on a Saturday noon and it wasn't too busy compared to the crowds it draws at night. For donuts I ordered the Thai Tea and the Green Thai Tea donuts and they were both pretty solid. The donuts were fluffy, light, and airy. There was a lot of frosting on top, but it wasn't too overpowering. Both of the flavors were good, but I liked the Thai Tea one the best. I also ordered a medium iced Thai Green Tea and it was good! The flavor was good and for the price of $4.50, they give you a lot of drink. Would recommend. Overall, a pleasant experience here. A good option to grab a snack or pick me up while you enjoy the beach. read more
Popular place that can get a really long line on the outside. Really small inside but multiple employees to try to keep it moving along. Tried the green tea donut and it was delicious! Very airy and creamy tasting. Definitely want to go back to try other things. A grab and go place, on a really busy street with tons of foot traffic. Really busy inside. read more
Haven't been back here in ages. Was hanging around the Newport Pier on a Saturday morning with my mom so I decided to take my mom here. There were only a couple of people in line. I got a ham, cheese and jalapeño croissant and my mom got a coconut glazed donut. I think they gave me a ham and cheese croissant instead. I didn't taste any jalapeños but it tasted as good as I remembered. I tried mom's donut and it was also delicious because it was fresh and soft. Mom enjoyed it too. read more

Definitely a nostalgic place. I used to come here all the time when I was a student, usually in the evenings after midterms and finals. The jalapeño, ham, and cheese croissants were always my go-to. Then, once cronuts became a thing, I started getting those too. Now, whenever I'm in the area and missing Seaside, I stop by. I recommend visiting in the evenings, , since parking and getting into the plaza is much easier. I've made the mistake (many times) of trying to visit during the day and always regretted it. The lines are long whenever I go, no matter the day. read more

Has a good vibe and atmosphere being right next to the beach. The donuts are high quality and have good value per dollar. The waittimes are longer at later hours and on weekends, but if you chalk that up to the expereince then there is nothing wrong with the service. read more
