I got the Strawberry Alarm Clock (how cute is that name?) and a Breakfast Burrito with no meat. There was a line when I went, but it moves quickly. There were people inside and outside. There was also a table for online orders that had a lot of orders on it. They were very busy. My drink was ok. It wasn't really strawberry forward nor espresso forward. They were present but they were very subtle. I felt like it was milk more than anything else. I really liked the burrito and did not miss the meat at all. I liked the shape of the burrito. I also liked that it was flatter than a normal burrito, because it made it easier to eat. It does come with a red and green sauce. Both are good. The red sauce kind of reminded me of Taco Bell hot sauce.
So parking sucks... However, if you can get past that, you will be pleasantly captivated. I ordered to go and tried their most popular menu items. I ordered the Ube Matcha and the breakfast burrito. I was hesitant to get rice in my breakfast burrito and I should've trusted my instincts. For my carb conscious girls, the tortilla is enough. The drink was good, but it was very sweet for me. You could get full off the drink alone. I now have a good baseline for the food and drinks so I feel like I would order better next time.
Kit Coffee is one of my favorite to-go spots for a cute brunch/ breakfast. I think the coffee they have to offer is really good, and I always enjoy having their specialty lattes. I don't think I've ever had a bad latte or matcha here, so I would just order anything on the menu that piques your interest haha. But their Earl Grey latte and Salted Maple Matcha have been their best stand-out drinks to me. Both of them encapsulate great flavor while maintaining the coffee and matcha taste in each drink. For the food, I would definitely recommend their Cilantro Fried Rice and their breakfast burrito. They're both packed with flavor, and it hits the spot for all my savory breakfast/ brunch people out there. The inside and outside of this restaurant are also super nice; there's not one bad place to sit and relax here.
Started my morning here with family for a caffeine boost and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the berry matcha, which comes with oat milk by default, and really enjoyed it. The sweetness was perfectly balanced and the berry flavor didn't overpower the drink. The matcha quality itself was just okay, the drink as a whole came together well. I'd give it a solid 7.5/10. Also got to try a few sips of what my family ordered, including the 'purple dream' and 'strawberry alarm clock' which were both solid. There's plenty of parking in the plaza and even around the corner, plus a spacious interior with lots of patio seating. A nice spot for a chill morning coffee run. I'd definitely come back when I'm in the area and in the mood to try something new.

Even with that being true, we got our order fairly quickly and the person that took our order was kind and it was smooth. I had the orange top coffee (I believe it's new) and it was great, super fresh and it was perfect for the already hot morning. My husband had the strawberry matcha and he really enjoyed it as well.

The staff was nice and my drinks and food came out quickly for being busy. The line was out the door. When you come, expect to wait. I got one of their signature drinks, Strawberries Wild and an Iced Vanilla Latte. I'm usually not a fan of fruit flavors paired with coffee, but this drink was pretty good. It had espresso, strawberry milk, strawberry cream too, and bits. The breakfast burrito is a standout for good reason. It had scrambled eggs, cilantro rice, hash brown, cheddar jack cheese, grilled onions, and bacon. I came hungry, so this totally filled me up. I was so happy afterwards.
Perfect spot to get a coffee, grab a bite to eat, and study. I ordered the scrambled egg toast and it hit the spot.

I stopped by after walking a loop around Castaway Park since it's conveniently within walking distance. I probably wouldn't recommend trying to park in the plaza, though--the parking is very limited. I ordered a regular matcha latte with almond milk and was pleasantly surprised that it was $6.50, especially since many places are charging over $7 now. I placed a mobile pickup order after being warned by some friends that the line and crowd can get pretty bad, especially on weekends. I do wish I had timed my order a bit later into my walk, as my drink ended up a little watered down and the matcha flavor wasn't as pronounced. One of the girls I was walking with ordered hers later, and her drink came out a much more vibrant green than mine.
KIT coffee used to be my go-to spot for bacon breakfast burritos, but now they've turned into hash brown burritos with minimal flavor. I miss the old recipe, please bring it back. Matcha 9/10 Burritos 3/10

I got an iced latte and I thought it was a little watered down but I have a preference for very dark and strong coffee. Parking was a little hard in the plaza since there were so many people. There is more parking but its reserved for the medical center.

In particular, I felt that the coffee was much better than other coffee I've had in the area (humanity, etc.) Heads up if you order food, they give you a number - the number is only for the food. You pick up the coffee yourself at the pickup area. There was tons of seating. Groups chatting, students working, and some folks reading.
I've been going to kit coffee a few times now and I'm always pleased with the customer service! They are always so helpful and nice! I love going here for the pour overs! They are always perfect every time! This place has indoor and outdoor seating! A nice comfy place for a coffee date!

Okay so I needed to check out Kit Coffee because of all the hype. My drink was good, however I was disappointed in the overall experience. The line was to the door so we expected to wait, but geez was it a wait. The barista at the register was very nice and helpful about the menu. He answered our questions and seemed happy to help. The main menu you can see in line only has about 20% of the actual items on the menu. It makes sense why the wait took so long because everyone had to decide what they were ordering once at the counter. The barista that made our drink, I wish I could say I enjoyed more. While we were waiting for our order, s customer had an issue with her drink and she rolled her eyes when approached about it. She also snapped at many of her coworkers while customers were around. Her shirt was interesting, stating not to bother her because she bites. I don't know, I am all for a funny tee, but mixed with an off-putting experience came off unprofessional. My drinks itself was really good, I tried the salted maple latte with coconut cold foam. If I got it again, I would go without the foam. All of the breakfast items coming out looked delicious, I would want to get the breakfast burrito. read more

Unfortunately, KIT Coffee was a pretty disappointing experience. We ordered the horchata matcha, and it was mostly ice with cinnamon sprinkled on top. Cinnamon on a matcha doesn't make it a horchata matcha, and the drink honestly felt more like an aesthetic concept than something thoughtfully made. We also ordered a burrito that was extremely overpriced for what it was. It was mostly egg and cheese, with very little that justified the price. We paid around $35 for two matchas and one burrito, which would be fine if the quality matched the price, but unfortunately it didn't. Overall, it felt like a very typical Orange County trendy coffee shop where the aesthetic and presentation take priority over the actual food and drinks. Cute space, but for the price, I expected significantly better. read more

After eating lunch next door I figured I would check this coffee shop out. There was a line out the door and there's no menu telling you the options until you get to the register. The giant wall menu is just the general categories and prices. While waiting in line I checked out their online menu but even that was missing the seasonal drinks. Crowds never slowed down with a constant line out the door. Atmosphere is very cold and sterile with service to match. I ordered the "strawberry wild latte" and my wife ordered the caramel. We snagged a table and waited for them to softly mumble my name in the deafening loud room. If you miss your name your order will sit there for eternity. I have to agree with the review from a few days ago. People try to cut the line. Two times a group tried to cut us in line. Be aware! This is no cozy relaxing coffee shop! I wasn't feeling the place until I took a sip of my drink. Entire thing was infused with strawberry, not just the cold foam. It was delicious to the last sip and I was sad when the astronomically priced drink was over. My wife loved her drink too. Pastry case was empty. We liked their drinks and would go again if I was in the area but wouldn't make a special trip just to come here. read more

Came here for vibes as it is located in the Newport public library, which the inside is very modern and big. The matcha latte was a bit sweet for my liking, no strong matcha flavor, but if that's how you like your matcha, then this will be the perfect drink for you. Kinda tasted like Starbucks matcha. The bagel was pretty good. I ordered the Eat, Pray, Lox bagel which came with salmon, cucumbers, and cream cheese; it was very filling. If you're looking for a place to get some work done and want to stop for a bite, this is a good spot! read more

Parking is awful, I wouldn't frequent this spot just because of the parking situation. Getting coffee should be a relaxing experience imo. Felt employees were friendly, despite other reviews. Decor is nice, with seating inside and out as well. I ordered the maple salted latte which is super good, would like mine a little stronger though, maybe another shot next time. The picture speaks for itself. If you are a serious matcha girl we do not recommend. The ube matcha tasted like grainy oat milk, no flavor. The matcha to milk ratio on a regular matcha was not it. read more
This was a nice cafe! It was cute and had a decent amount of seating both indoor and outdoor. Friendly staff and our drinks came out fairly quick. My friend and I both got the Triple Double Matcha which was pretty good. Not as matcha-y as I was thinking it would be considering the "Triple Double" in the name but still good! Great ambience and baristas. Plenty of seating inside and outside for a cafe. Parking was a breeze for me (there's also a lot in the back). No restroom but there's a building shared around the corner that just requires a code. Tried -Seasonal Boysenberry Matcha Latte with Almond milk: Creamy and loved the housemade boysenberry cream top. There's even some cute purple sugar crystals that make the drink pop on top. A more lighter matcha taste perfect if you don't like that grassy matcha taste. -Arugula Salad: Refreshing with quality ingredients. Two sunny side eggs had a perfect crisp and the avocado was perfectly sliced and plated on top. There was a slight citrus salty seasoning and fresh grounded black pepper flakes that made this delicious. I would've loved maybe a fruit topping with this like strawberries or raisins but overall, great! read more

This place is always packed to the brim! The line usually goes pretty quickly though. All the drinks I have tried here have been really really good. Like so good I always want a second one. My favorite drink is their Strawberry Alarm Clock, which is just a strawberry latte. I would recommend it full sweet if you want the full strawberry flavor. I usually get my lattes half sweet, but this one tastes better full; the strawberry flavor gets diluted when it's half sweet. Their breakfast burrito is decent for a quick breakfast as well. The main downside of this place is the size. It's tiny and cramped and there are always so many people waiting for their drinks, that they crowd all the tables inside. The tables are not the cleanest either - this place is more of a grab-and-go place for me! read more

Tasty, pretty, and pricey. Their strawberry latte was enjoyable. Breakfast burrito was decent, but maybe I would've liked the bacon one better. Cilantro fried rice was like a breakfast burrito bowl and was a tad salty. Service was cordial/standard. Came in late Spring midday on a Sat, and the ambience was bright, clean, and well air-conditioned. There was plenty of indoor and outdpor seating. I've heard about it for years. The buzzy buzz has not escaped me. I've even tried coming like three times. Twice cus they had just closed and once cus the line as too long and the homie didn't want to wait. Anyways. This place Is my new favorite. Don't wanna hear none of this bullshit. When it comes to Specialty drinks / matcha type shit. This is the best in OC. Especially in the NEWPS / costa Mexico / Irvine area. Phenomenal. I needed some big fueling for a long row session out in Newport. I stopped at Kit and grabbed a latte and a breakfast burrito with bacon. The latte is pretty standard and satisfying. The burrito was a surprised. It was loaded with bacon throughout and they toasted it so the tortilla was crispy making it a panini style burrito. The two salsas were also great compliments to the burrito. Delicious!! I would absolutely get it again. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The service was good and fast. Casual. Parking: there is a parking located in the plaza. There are many available parking spaces including some directly in front of the store. Just beware to not park in the stalls that are marked as reserved. Parking here is easier and more convenient than Irvine location. Service: They rolled out the drinks and food very quickly considering how many people were ordering and lining up. Pro tip: if you don't have time, order ahead of time online on their website. Ambiance: It was decorated so nicely and cute. They offered table seating inside the shop. Definitely busy so more of a social coffee shop than a study one. Food: Thank you berry matcha latte (10/10)- matcha latte with strawberry milk (oat milk), the matcha was extremely creamy but the strawberry flavor shined through and complemented the matcha flavor so well. It wasn't earthy or grassy (maybe try somewhere else if you prefer grassier matcha). I also thought original was great but I liked it even more when I asked for less sweet! Triple Single Matcha Latte (9/10)- matcha latte topped with strawberry cream topping. Again, matcha was so creamy and flavorful. I do prefer the thank you berry matcha a bit more because I think the strawberry flavor shined through more. However, the cream top was still really great. TLDR: both strawberry matcha lattes were super good and if you're a strawberry matcha lover, get both to try both!! I went back two days in a row. It was that good! My favorite thing at Kit is the almond milk cappuccino that I order. I don't know why they just do it right! It can be crazy there on the weekends with so many people waiting to order. So I choose my times wisely, and try and go at odd times when I can find parking easily. It's nice be able to sit and relax for bit and take a break for yourself. Also fun to meet up with a friend and enjoy a burrito and some good coffee! Everyone that works is very dedicated to their job, and the atmosphere is great! Lots of cute shopping in the area with great boutiques so you can kind of make a little afternoon out of it. read more
Super busy coffee shop on 17th near Dover Dr. in Newport Beach. The complex is beautifully designed but parking is horrendous. All kinds of signs stating who can park where, super territorial. Very popular place, crowded, loud. I arrived before 9am on a weekday & there were around 10 customers seated with drinks working on laptops or chatting. Around 9am, a line formed almost to the front door. Friend got caramel latte (she liked it a lot) & I got iced mocha. Mocha was smooth, comes with 2 shots espresso & was delicious, not too sweet. Restrooms located around the way with a code. No rewards/loyalty program but price was ok at $6 per drink. read more

This is the place to experience the Newport Beach vibe with excellent food. The Salmon avocado toast sets the standard to be matched by all other contenders. The coffees are excellent and the service is great. Parking can be a hassle but it's worth it to visit this place. read more
