No bathrooms in the restaurant, had to walk out to the casino floor to dirty bathrooms through the casino rif raf. $1300 meal bill with tip for 8 of us, 2-3 drinks each, entree each and 6 appetizers. Guess I would have expected more from a restaurant that holds itself to Ramsay standards. We live in Reno, and went there at a friends request. Never worth eating in the casinos, and definitely never going back. Just stay away. And "Ryan B," whoever you are, every response to negative feedback is the same generic AI response. We love Gordon Ramsay's restaurants but this was a big disappointment. We sat at the bar on a Sat night around 6pm. We sat there for about 10 minutes until someone finally acknowledged us. Several bartenders kept walking by like we were invisible. Ordered an old fashioned and martini. Both just ok. Salad was great and crab cake was ok. We had to call the bartender over just so we could pay. Everyone at the bar had the same bad service. Two managers were walking around doing nothing. So sad! We won't return. read more

The service was just okay. Our server was nice but was very quick with us. When he took our order he asked for our entrees and walked away and we had to say oh hey we want a side. Felt very rushed and not caring. We had oysters and the rolls for appetizer. The rolls were delicious. The oyster were just okay. They had a lot of shells in them which made them unpleasant. We both had the Wellington and it was mushy. The crust was not cooked through all the way and was doughy. The meat itself was mushy at best and super raw. I took the pastry off and just ate the meat. The sauce I was super excited for was not flavorful at all. It was bland and the potato mash was one bite and done. Overall the food was very disappointing. First time visiting Ramsay's Kitchen and I loved it! My husband and I decided to make a reservation for his birthday in February. We were seated immediately and our server went into detail about the food menu as well as the drink menu. We had booked the experience reservation which included a three course meal of a crab cake, beef Wellington and the sticky toffee pudding. The food was delicious and the serving sizes were perfect (I even had leftovers to take) My husband and I both ordered two specialty cocktails each and they were tasty. When you try a new place, you can't absorb the experience until well after, and you are always hopeful. I give them the benefit of the doubt, but then, the sum of the visit, will tell. The service was good! The food? Don't play. Too $ to play. Brussels sprouts should be trimmed more of the rough outer leaves or check your supplier as they all were difficult to chew; tasty though. The Wellington was not as good as other places or a neighbor's I've had. The plating looked weird, with the pearl onion and carrot like soggy chewy water balls lacking any flavor and the puréed potatoes like smooth sticky starchy glue! I am an expert on puréed potatoes. There was an overpowering flavor from the demiglace and mushrooms. Probably too concentrated, maybe dilute a bit as it was also clotting (gelling with the starch of the squishy pastry) The marriage turning gloppy on my fork and into my optimistic palate. We do have a very dry climate. I love savory so that was tolerable. I adore salt and flavor so most of it was fine in that department. The pastry on the Wellington was ok. It did not seem right. I think these tiny versions are strange. Almost like they are premade, frozen, or something? With pastry it has to be fresh out of the oven without storing. It was brought to the table cold and frozen midway through. The New York steak was nice, but not $90 nice! Ridiculous, with a tiny bit of spinach and a roasted tomato bite. The burrata salad was just ok. The veggies were odd together and not fresh. Sorry, but a drive through can have fresher. If I can make it better, then why go out? Especially for these silly prices. The Love Potion mocktail was slightly yummy. Too much lime making it pack a serious pucker. I will make it myself and love it, and I'm no mixologist. I often feel embarrassed to be a victim of culinary capitalism; an unspoken acknowledgement by the staff and customers as we chit chat through plastic smiles. The people there were truly real and good as I expressed to both managers. Keep that class. I love them checking in. I just wish the food could back it up. The $70 beef Wellington was ok...nothing special to be honest, but the $70 dollar prime rib Sunday roast was cold salty and so was the Au jus. The side was a couple carrots and a couple French fries? I give this a middle ground because nothing wowed me. I came in with higher expectations and it was good but nothing that would make me want to come back. The service was good and the staff were super nice and informative. The wait time once seated was very slow, the wait time took a while as well also. We came at 9 and didn't finish until almost 11. We got the fried eggplant, tuna tartare, and Parker rolls for our appetizers. The fried eggplant was good and crispy, the tuna tartare was flavorful and well marinated but there wasn't enough wonton chips to accompany them, the Parker rolls were light and airy but wasn't anything special either. The entrees were mixed for us. I absolutely loved the beef Wellington! The meat was tender and overall so flavorful with the ultra creamy potato purée. This was a staple and now I understand why. The prime rib was a disaster. I don't know if it was a certain cut or if this was all that was left but it was so overcooked, and thick cut, and fatty and it just was not good at all. For $70 a piece it should've been perfect. Why ask what type of style you prefer the meat if it's coming out overcooked. The color was gray and just was not appetizing at all. The drinks were different, we got the mocktails and the lychee cooler was a little too tart for my liking. We went for our anniversary, my husband told the staff on the reservation it was for our anniversary and we requested to be seated in a nice place. My husband is a big man about 300 pounds, 6'3. They sat us in a little booth smooshed next to two other couples to the point that if I stuck out my arm I could touch the couple next to me. We were super uncomfortable and the staffed who sat us was unfriendly and unpleasant. Thankfully our waitress was a gem and made the experience so much better. It was on my bucket list to eat at one of Ramsey,s kitchens. Big fan of Gordon,s shows and food. I had the Wellington and it did not disappoint. My husband had the New York strip and he said it was delicious. The drinks are amazing too. Our service was perfect Lisa did an amazing job. One of the table clearers dropped a bottle near our table and glass was on me and my husbands feet. The manager just asked him to sweep it up but never asked us if we were okay. Later on after we were finished he asked if we had a good meal. It would have been nice if he had asked if we were okay. The ambiance was nice but loud. Very pricey for an upscale restaurant. Walked up on a Sunday evening, around 6pm, for dinner. We were seated promptly for a table for four. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated, darker lighting, yet the kitchen was lit to watch the action. The restaurant was half full of customers. Our waitress was not always attentive, but someone else always came to fill our water once in awhile. My husband ordered the scallops and enjoyed them even though he thought the portions were more for the size of an appetizer. Keep that in mind if you're hungry or you'll be sorely disappointed and may need to order another dish or hop on over to Circus Circus in the food court to grab another meal. My kids both ordered the filet mignon from the adult menu and they both enjoyed the sauce that came with their steaks. My son thought the steak was a bit overcooked, he asked it to be cooked medium rare, his was cooked more like medium. He still ate it without complaint because he was really hungry. He also ordered a side of mashed potatoes which was nice and creamy with a dollop of sour cream on top, something he would've asked to hold if he knew beforehand. I ordered their Sunday prime rib. The portion was very generous though the grade of the beef was poor, select, so it was tough to cut and chew without much flavor. Thankfully there was au jus to dip the meat in or it would've been inedible with a lack of flavoring on the outer part with rarely any cap. We cook a better prime rib for the holidays than what was served. Because my husband and son were still hungry, I was at least able to share a third of my portion to each of them. It comes with a side of vegetables, the carrots were a bit burnt and could taste it and the potatoes were super crispy, almost inedible, but the soufflé bread was probably the winner, yet I didn't really care for it too much. For dessert we ordered the toffee bread pudding. It was a hit with my daughter who rarely likes dessert. Completely surprised me though it's one of my favorite memorable desserts. Wish they put more ice cream to balance the sweetness of the dish. Overall it was good but something was different about it than the one I had at Vegas' Gordon Ramsey Steak restaurant. Overall I think I'd skip this restaurant. We came here for convenience since we were staying at the Silver Legacy. And oddly, the day after our visit here, my husband got an unauthorized credit card charge. I'm not sure if the waitress or someone else here wrote his number down/took a picture of it and decided to buy something for themselves online. He only used the credit card twice on the trip, once at the hotel reception only, which he had his eye on for the whole time, then the second was at this restaurant. I'm back in Reno and saw Ramsay's Kitchen. It opened this past July so I had to try it. The front of the restaurant is open to the walkway so when dining alone, it was great for people watching. I made a 4:30 reservation which is right when they open. Lots of available staff so I was pleasantly greeted and seated immediately. A nice wine list was provided but after a wild previous night, I stuck with water. Sparkling or still options. Nice! So many menu items to try but the price point was high so I had to be selective. I chose the Caesar salad and the Beef Wellington. The Caesar arrived first and I was stunned! It was in a large bowl... big enough to be a meal in itself! The boiled egg was SUPERB! Perfectly cooked with a soft, custard-like yoke. Absolutely delicious! One major disappointment was the dressing. While it was delicious, it was just too heavily dressed for my taste so I wasn't able to eat as much as I wanted to. A lighter application would have made this a perfect salad. It took a little longer than I expected to get the beef Wellington out but it was worth the wait! Beautiful, minimalist presentation. The small melon ball shaped root vegetables gave me a laugh. Four little bite sized balls hardly qualify as a vegetable portion but they were tasty. The potato purée was smeared along the plate. And the beef Wellington was a good sized individual portion. The pastry crust was lightly browned and still flaky. I cut through the meat like butter. Perfectly cooked and still hot inside. The flavor was spot on with the glaze. Can't say enough about this dish. Winner, winner, BEEF dinner! The wait staff couldn't have been more attentive. My water glass stayed full and my leftovers were nice packed up with a great little bag to carry them away in. What a wonderful treat for myself! I'm glad I did it and I would recommend it! I am beyond frustrated with this business and their handling of my reservation. Their website messed up the date of my reservation, leading to a "no-show" fee for a reservation I never made (I wasn't even in Reno at the time--why would I book a reservation on that date?). When I reached out to ask if I could either use the fee as credit toward the correct reservation or receive a refund, I was met with complete indifference and hostility. Kirra, somehow a manager, was incredibly unhelpful and downright rude. She had the audacity to tell me I was "lucky" I wasn't charged for the full party of five, even though the mistake was on their end, not mine. She claimed they couldn't sell the table and refused to issue a refund, despite my numerous reminders that the error was theirs. I emailed the general manager four days ago and have yet to receive a response. This level of poor customer service is unacceptable. I can only imagine what the in-house service is like. I'm in disbelief a big restaurant like this would treat their patrons this way. I'd like my money back, you need to make it right. Obviously, I won't be rebooking, and I strongly advise others to stay far away. read more

My wife and I were staying at the Silver Legacy hotel in Reno, Nevada and we decided to splurge on dinner at Ramsay's Kitchen there, which is an expensive restaurant by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. We had a good time in Reno but there were definitely some negatives with this restaurant. I do not think that I have ever complained about service at a fine dining sit-down restaurant being too fast, until now. We arrived on time for an 8:00 p.m. reservation, were seated and given menus immediately, and wait staff arrived within a minute to take our order. The ambiance was pretty nice though you do hear casino din in the distance. The employees were friendly and efficient, perhaps too efficient. I ordered Beef Wellington at $70.00 which is probably the most expensive entrée I have ever ordered, plus a glass of Pinot Noir. My wife ordered a Harvest Salad of Mixed Greens, Fuji Apples, Celery, Goat Cheese, Candied Almonds, and Grain Mustard Vinaigrette. My Beef Wellington included Potato Purée, Glazed Baby Root Vegetables, and Red Wine Demi-Glace. She also ordered a glass of viognier. There was excessive capitalization and excessive vagueness on the menu, which I am reflecting precisely here. The wines were California standards at pretty reasonable prices and just fine, although my wife's pour was much more generous than mine for some unknown reason. The Harvest Salad was a good sized portion composed and presented very nicely. The apple slices were attractively arrayed on top but were sliced paper thin so they did not contribute much fruity flavor. The goat cheese was creamy and distinctive but, frankly, it dominated the flavor of the salad even though my wife and I enjoyed it. The vaguely described mixed greens were fresh and flavorful, but were also the frilly type of greens that are hard to spear with a fork. I am a big mustard fan but could barely detect any mustard flavor in the dressing which to me, was excessively sour. Thicker slices of apples and a slight admixture of honey in the dressing would have balanced things out much better, I believe. On to the Beef Wellington, which is supposed to be a tender filet cooked medium rare and coated in pâté and then wrapped in a baked pastry crust. That it was. The piece of beef was medium rare and exceptionally tender. Too tender to my taste. It had almost no body or grain to it. Almost mushy. The pâté coating the beef was fine but not memorable. The pastry crust was the big disappointment. It looked great on the plate but proved to be soggy. Hey, I ate the pastry crust anyway because I was so hungry but it was far from impressive, and was memorable in the wrong way. The sides along the Beef Wellington were presented very attractively but were, frankly, parsimonious. Potato purée, it seems, is a form of mashed potatoes thinned down so that you can take about a tablespoon of it and swish it around quite thinly on quite a bit of plate real estate, leaving an artistic appearance but nothing to help maintain the meat on your own bones. The "Glazed Baby Root Vegetables" were similarly scanty. They created two count 'em, two carrot balls, each about 3/4 inch in diameter, and the same number of balls (two) that could have been potato, or turnip, or maybe parsnip. These vegetables are, frankly, very inexpensive raw material ingredients and I do not see the point of serving starvation level quantities, unless it is to promote dessert sales or to cut doggie bag expenses to zero. Come to think of it, the Beef Wellington portion size was skimpy too. I have usually seen it presented in an oval, loaf shaped portion, but this example was spherical and pretty darned small. The striking thing about the culinary experience was how quickly it was over. I was amazed at how rapidly the food was hustled to the table. We walked into the restaurant at 8:00 p.m and our empty plates were being hauled away at 8:32. I have spent more time in fast food restaurants many times. The place was almost empty as we were leaving. Beef Wellington is supposed to be Ramsay's signature dish. As a matter of fact, his recipe is available online. It calls for the dish to be roasted at very high heat for 15 to 20 minutes after being wrapped in the pastry crust, and then rested for ten minutes before serving. Given how quickly we were whisked in and out of the restaurant, the Beef Wellington could not possibly have been prepared properly. It must have been roasted in advance and then allowed to rest for far longer than ten minutes, waiting for some rubes to come in to order that soggy pastry crust. In conclusion, too quick, too tender, too sour, too soggy, too expensive and too little. read more
