What a cute redo! We used to come to this when t was Napa Sonoma. Now reopened as Cook'd. We Love the outdoor patio and inside/outside options. The food was delish and large portions. We dined on lobster rolls, chicken parm, pizza, boom boom shrimp and toasted ravioli. The wine list was a good mix of price points as well. Our server was great! Had my 84 year old MIL with us-takes forever to decide her meal/spills and she was so gracious and patient. 10/10
Love the fun environment. The Chicken Alfredo is delicious. My only complaint about that is it doesn't come with any bread. I don't recommend ordering the garlic bread off the appetizers menu to go with it either, because for $9.50 you only get 4 really small thin pieces of crispy baguette bread that have the consistency of a crouton. Not really the garlic bread you'd imagine. I've also had the buffalo chicken salad. Not as thrilled with that one. The lettuce was too warm and the chicken soggy and not quite warm enough. The garlic fries are good. The Tipsy Lavender Lemond is my favorite drink here. The service is good, waiters are attentive.
Everything was delicious! The cheese pizza was delicious, tri-tip slider was flavorful, the chips and guac (no pic ) were fresh and tasty, and the boom boom shrimp was absolutely amazing! in The food was great, but the excellent customer service made the experience even better. Noah was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. Definitely a great place to enjoy good food and wonderful service. Highly recommend!
We are visiting from Sacramento and just ate here since it was close to our hotel. Everything we got here was absolutely delicious. Our server holli was also very sweet and took great care of us the whole visit. We would highly recommend this restaurant. They have a nice patio as well which we sat at. It had a nice atmosphere overall and the staff are very friendly. Those shrimp were BOMB!
A friend recommended Cook'd and it was pretty good! We ordered Spicy Pepperoni and the Margherita Pizza, plus chips and guac appetizer. It was all very good and freshly made. They have a great selection of beer on tap and their happy hour is from 2 to 5pm. It's not the best happy hour, but better than most. The service was excellent! The bartender was quick to service and very knowledgeable when we asked about the pizza. The restaurant was huge and it looked like there were two sections. The side I went to was pretty mellow and felt pretty casual. Overall, I look forward to going back to try more food out.
Great New Spot in Reno! Cook'd is a great new addition to the Reno dining scene! Located in the former Napa Sonoma space on South Virginia, this restaurant has only been open about four months, but they've already created a fun, welcoming atmosphere. They offer happy hour daily from 2-5 p.m., and their weekend brunch on Saturday and Sunday includes unlimited mimosas for just $15--a great deal. They also have live entertainment every other Thursday night, which adds to the lively atmosphere. The menu has all the traditional bar-food favorites, along with a full selection of other dishes, and everything we tried was good. The drinks were great, the service was friendly and attentive, and the overall experience was excellent. Our server, Belen, was one of the best servers I've encountered in Reno recently. If you're looking for a fun, casual place with good food, good drinks, and good service, I definitely recommend giving Cook'd a try. It's well worth checking out!
We arrived at 6:30 p.m. without reservations, but we were promptly seated at a high top table in the bar area. There are several different seating areas. There is a nice dining room to the right, a bar area in the middle and an outdoor café on the far left. And they were playing music the entire time we were there which was nice. After looking at the menu, we asked the server about the sauce that came on the Italian chicken. We were told we could get Bolognese sauce instead of the Alfredo sauce. But later she came back and said they didn't have a Bolognese sauce. So we picked a combination of red sauce and Alfredo sauce. A few minutes later, she came back and said we could only get one sauce. Really?? I would've paid an up charge to get the two sauces on the chicken and pasta. Nonetheless, I settled for the red sauce. We waited a long time for our food. As a matter of fact, someone who arrived much later than us got theirs 30 minutes before us. In the end, we waited over an hour for our meal. When my food arrived, the chicken was warm but not hot. The pasta noodles were cold and hardly had any red sauce on them. The chicken had no sauce on it, even though the menu said it came with Alfredo sauce. My husband's chicken tacos were cold, not lukewarm. They were also not very flavorful. Our orders didn't come out as we had hoped as it seemed like there was a lot of miscommunication, confusion and chaos in the kitchen. The prices are somewhat high. An apple cranberry salad (without a protein) cost $21. Fish and chips are $29. Two chicken tacos cost $23. The Italian chicken we ordered was $29. It was a disappointing experience. All in all, due to the menu confusion, the long wait to get our meals, and the fact the pasta was cold, I'm not sure I'll be returning.
Disappointing Service and Overcooked Food at Cook'd I really wanted to like Cook'd, but our recent visit was defined by kitchen chaos, miscommunication, and serious timing issues. We arrived at 6:30 PM, but our food didn't start arriving until 7:35 PM, over an hour later. In fact, my own plate didn't reach the table until 7:41 PM, well after others who had arrived and ordered after us were already served. While the server was friendly, there was a clear lack of knowledge regarding menu alterations and communication from the kitchen: - Menu & Order Confusion: We were initially told the kitchen had a bolognese sauce (they didn't) and that we could split two different sauces, only to be informed 30 minutes later that this wasn't possible. - Missing Components: Three of us ordered the Italian Fried Chicken one with Alfredo and two with the red "gravy" (marinara). The menu explicitly stated the chicken comes topped with homemade Alfredo sauce, but my plate had none to be found. Just the melted mozzarella. - Temperature & Execution Issues: By the time the chicken tacos and two of the pasta dishes arrived, they were completely cold. My meal finally arrived at the right temperature, but the chicken looked like it had spent far too long in the deep fryer. The front-of-house staff seemed stranded while waiting on a dysfunctional kitchen line. Between the extended wait times, incorrect orders, and cold food, it's hard to justify a return trip anytime soon. The space itself is stunning with indoor and outdoor areas.
So happy we finally came to try this place out! The remodel is beautiful and just enough of a change that you don't feel like you are at Napa Sonoma. We started with the shrimp appetizer. It was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. Highly recommended! I got the lobster roll. Tasted fresh and had me craving another one next time I go back! I honestly was blown away by the service and quality of the food. I can't wait to go back and try more on the menu!
First time going this past weekend. We went for dinner. We made no reservation so we waited at the bar for 15-20min. I don't really like the video gambling set-up, brings down the vibe. The server was attentive. I like the white wine selection. We ordered the fried ravioli, fish & chips, wings and two burgers. Overall food was pretty good, kinda feels like elevated bar food. Next time I would skip the wings. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating. Would come back
Decided to try this new restaurant on South Virginia in the old Napa Sonoma building they have a happy hour from 2 to 5 so we got a nice new kind of drink and I got tri-tip sliders and my friend got chicken wings and we also got a side of garlic fries. They happen to be the best we've had in a long time. Our waitress was very good and getting our order in our drinks in a timely matter. The place is very wide open. They do have TVs. They also have a bar machines have a fun place. I think you like it. I know we're gonna go back.
The food and drinks were good, but unfortunately when I saw the sign I thought it would be more like a Dave and busters but the restaurant just has a bunch of casino games. I'm not a gambler so it didn't appeal to me, my wife and I shared some appetizers and drinks, food was good but service left to be desired. If you weren't there to gamble you were kind of forgotten, ambiance is nice tho have some sports on and for football I can see being a good spot to watch the game.
I went for lunch Thursday and had the tri tip salad. It was fantastic. Very generous portion and so good. Another person in our group had the boom boom shrimp. It's an appetizer but plenty for a full lunch. I tasted hers and it was so good I went back two days later with another friend and ordered the boom boom shrimp. Excellent. Both owners or owner and manager checked in with us to make sure everything was to our liking. They also have a good happy hour from 2-5 every day. Will definitely go back again.

Everything was delicious! We were a little sad to see that Napa Sonoma moved on. We decided to give Cook'd a try and were pleasantly surprised at the entire experience. We were seated promptly as a party of 5 and the servers were quick to get our drink order. Our server Chris was attentive and went above and beyond to help our family feel welcomed. He was on top of the entire experience. We brought the whole crew for my son's birthday and the kids devoured their corn dog meals. I had the lobster pasta and my husband had the linguini and meatballs; both dishes had generous portions and were delicious! We topped the night off with a real birthday celebration, my son's face says it all. Fancy ice cream with a fireworks show. Thank you Chris and Cook'd for a wonderful 3rd birthday dinner! OK second time I ordered the lobster roll and it's even better!!!!! Compliments to whoever made this dish! I forgot to mention the soup! Good job Cook'd. If you want an amazing espresso martini and please by all means have it with tequila have the bartender Theresa make it for you!!! read more
Went to Cook'd for the 1st time for lunch. Floor plan is refreshed from the previous tenant (Napa Sonoma) loved the optional patio, garage and inside dining. We choose to sit in the patio area which we quickly moved inside due to a much needed rain storm. Greeted as soon as we walked in. Service from everyone was friendly and attentive. Now for lunch, I ordered the Spicy Turkey sandwich with tots, plenty of meat, toasted perfectly but overall it was a bit dry. My friend ordered the Tri Tip sandwich with tots, again plenty of tri tip and I was told it was delicious . I would go back for a return visit but it's not a "I can't wait to go back meal". read more
Just okay. $20 appetizer of 3 fried ravioli , $20-$50 a plate for most offerings. Good variety from fish tacos , burgers, salads, steak, chicken. Pizzas and pastas. 3 people, one cocktail, one appetizer, tacos, salad and burger ran us about $120. The tacos didn't have much flavor and were served on cold flour tortillas, buffalo chicken salad was reportedly good, hangover burger includes a fried egg and is a good portion, it was ordered bun-less and described as an ok burger. Banana pudding was a unique menu item for this town and was tasty treat. Overall pricy and "okay food" I'll try it again and get some other items to see if there's any difference. Staff is very attentive stopping by frequently and offering water refills. Nice ambiance and nice meeting place. read more
Cook's opens in Reno!! Always on the lookout for Our next regular place we had to stop by. Meant to go for Happy Hour, missed it by 5 minutes. Thought there was gaming, not in yet but supposed to be in on June 15. So we had a couple of cocktails and dinner. Good menu with a lot of variety but we kept it simple. I had the spicy chicken sandwich and a salad. Very nice, good spice, good condiments and salad was great. My wife had the patty melt with fries - very tasty cooked to a perfect temperature. Service was great and am sure the place will catch on. Cannot wait to go back after they've gotten their legs fully under them. Definitely worth a try when on S Virginia. read more

We tried Cook'd for the first time last Friday and I'm really glad we did. Huge space, great service, live music, and the hockey finals made for a fun, busy atmosphere. I ordered the Caesar salad because I can never resist one, and this one is officially competing for my favorite in town alongside The Depot Craft Brewery Distillery kale Caesar. The dressing tasted homemade and was so good. My boyfriend ordered the Italian Fried Chicken, and I got the Tahoe Burger. The burger itself was tasty and the meat was cooked really well, but it wasn't my favorite burger in town. I wasn't totally sold on the toppings, the bun was a little dry, and I think it could've used more sauce. The Italian Fried Chicken, though, was seriously delicious and probably the standout of the night. Also - get this, HAPPY HOUR 7 DAYS A WEEK! We'll definitely be back to try their pizza next! read more
Omg!!!! Yes!!!! My new best friends I ordered the Tri tip sandwich with a house side salad and am totally hooked. The bread was toasted and crunchy, the beef piled high, and the cheese was gooey perfection. The house salad was amazing.... So fresh and the extra veggies were amazing. The bleu cheese was tasty. New HUGE place with decent amount of TVs. Huge menu variety which isn't necessarily a wise decision. $19 for a pizza that is an odd size. It was larger than a personal size so too much for one person but not quite enough for two hungry adults unless you added a salad and/or appetizer. Fish and chips was good but nothing stellar. Chicken taco salad was well constructed, average portion, but chicken breast was way overcooked and over seasoned, almost too salty to eat. Service was good. Prices are no bargain but pretty typical for the times even for the strip mall location. I think they need more time to dial the menu in as it may currently be the definition of hit and miss. Pretty hard to nail such a huge variety of menu options. I'd also take 5-star reviews from early May with a grain of salt (but not as much as they put on my chicken) as early patrons "in the know" may sometimes be biased during a soft launch period. More time will tell. read more

New spot in town and it did not disappoint! Great location, great vibe, great spacious inside. Food was excellent! The Alfredo pasta was amazing and the buffalo chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Top tier stuff. Going back sooner than later. Solid bathroom situation as well. This place is AMAZING. Great choice of dishes with plenty of choices to pick from. They also have a great brunch menu. The bar staff (Amanda, Chris, Megan & Taylor) always make me welcome and are very personable. It's my go-to place to bring friends and family when visiting from out of town. read more
What a nice experience we had at Cook'd. A new restaurant that is still in soft opening stage. A really nice location. They took over Napa Sonoma on South Virginia. Super lovely interior and incredible friendly customer service. Everyone was so pleasant and engaging. Menu is lovely and no real theme, just good choices. I ordered the fish and chips and it was very satisfying. One critique on the chips would be that a fatter, more unctuous French fry is my preference with fish and chips. To me that makes a big difference. Just like the fabulous fish and chips you'd get in Howth, Ireland. Other than that the fish was crispy, hot and Cod. Always grateful when they don't say Talapia! They serve their water in mason jars and it's a nice touch. Go check them out. You will enjoy the whole experience. P.S. don't pick their grapes! read more
We were looki g for somewhere to get a bite and a cool drink. What a perfect find!! The remodel is amazing. Open spaces and so welcoming. We were greeted immediately but chose to sit at the bar. They have slots at the bar and their own rewards program. We were given a sample of their signature Tumbleweed drink...you can add a topper. We decided on signature cocktails instead. Bees knees... blackberry heaven! Sweet but tangy. Also had a lemon cello blueberry spritzer. Both served in custom glasses. They have the typical beers on tap as well as wines. It was Sunday so we tried their brunch items. OJ Benedict.... It was ok. Exactly as menu said. Bread with ham, soft boiled egg and a bit of hollandaise. Home fries. Not a traditional Benedict. Husband had BLT with garlic Parmesan fries. Everything g was perfect. Fries were crunchy but soft and flavor was nice. All the servers were busy and they were having good time working ! We stopped by for a quick dinner while running errands and were so glad we did! The staff greeted us immediately and made us feel welcome. We were seated right away, and the food came out fast. I had the Ciao Bella sandwich with soup, a mango mimosa, and the Nutty Fashioned--everything was delicious! I checked out their happy hour menu too, and I'll definitely be back to try more. read more
Great new atmosphere and amazing food to try in south Reno. Visited on a whim and we will be back! The server was very friendly and made several suggestions that did not miss. We enjoyed an interesting new take on pizza, traditional fish and chips and a lobster roll, all deliciously satisfying. The portions are quite large and more than fill you up. Wow !!! Did I say Wow?!! Wow!! Service is outstanding, and I don't think I've ever said that in a review! Beginning with the hostess who was super friendly and inviting, to the waiter, Nick, who "took care of me" after a very long work day, and the soft lighting and subtle music. I was impressed! And I don't think I've ever said that in any review before either lol! But truly, that is impressive. It's beautiful in here, delightful atmosphere. The bar is hopping. I chose to sit in the dining room to relax before going home after a very long day. The bar is beautiful and they also have outside seating. Big screens to watch sports, and the volume is just right with the great music! This is the kind of place I want to visit with friends and family ! They have a wide range of delicious recipes; something for everyone; Today I wanted Italian. I'm so glad I searched yelp and found Cook'd ! Im going to take home some banana pudding! And lots of leftovers for lunch tomorrow, I'm full but I want to try their dessert too if I could give Cook'd a 10 star review , I would! Please come and try it out, you won't be disappointed! Edit! The banana pudding that I brought home is to die for! I was gonna take a picture, but before I knew it, it was all gone lol! The cookies that they put in it or have the perfect crunch in the soft creamy banana pudding I don't think I've had anything like it before. It was smooth creamy delicious! I came here for lunch and I really liked how they updated the interior. The service was great, the food came quickly (which is nice when you have a working lunch) and I enjoyed the food. This is on my list of places to go again. read more
