This time she had duck breast and for me the fettuccini carbonara. Fresh bread and a glass of Barbera Vietti completed the main course. Each item is made with such care that the meal will seem like a special occasion. Apparently each day is a special occasion in the kitchen at TKT. The fettuccini was the best I ever had. The carbonara was rich and meaty and the Parmesan set it off perfectly. Her duck breast was a large appetizer with a rich sauce. Then there were the desserts, panna cotta with berries and mocha bliss, a brownie with ice cream. Both fantastic! The small restaurant foot print adds a feeling of an intimate experience. I went here for dinner with my husband on a weeknight. It was pretty busy, which is always a good sign. Since we had a reservation, we were promptly seated. The interior is very nice. It's like a San Francisco bistro. I will say however, they do have a lot of seating in a very small space so it gets a bit noisy. We split a house salad, which was quite tasty. The lettuce was quite fresh as were the vegetables. For dinner, I had the papparadelle & burrata brisket in a spicy tomato sauce. The pasta seemed to be homemade and the brisket had a nice heat to it. It was flavorful and delicious. The service was also very good. Had a great dining experience at The Kitchen Table! I recommend a reservation, the dining area is small, intimate, and popular. We were seated right away and the service was some of the best I've received in Reno. They went above and beyond at every opportunity and we couldn't have been more appreciative. I tried the spicy old fashioned and it was delicious, perfectly poured. We started with bread and butter and brussel sprouts with bacon. The bread and was good, my only critique of the meal is I wish the butter had more flavor, but the sprouts were amazing and the bacon paired it perfectly. The food was "Meh", neither terrible nor really good and certainly not worth the price. But that is only part of the story. We had heard so many good things about the Kitchen Table, so a large group of neighbors decided to give it a try. The place is quite lovely, I would say "mid-size" in terms of restaurants with a good amount of seating and a lovely ambiance. Our waitress, Bailey, was absolutely incredible. Friendly, always smiling and always helpful, Bailey was a highlight of the evening. Even as the evening got more busy, she was always there to help ensure we had a great experience. Having done my homework on Yelp, the "Tagliatelle Aglio Olio" looked absolutely amazing, shrimp and steamed clams are served over a bed of pasta infused with garlic, chili flakes and parsley. It is served in a what appeared to be a wine sauce. How much you like or don't like a dish is often influenced by personal taste or preference and this was the case with my meal. I would have preferred a cream sauce over the wine sauce and I'm just not a fan of "al dente" prepared pasta. I just don't get it. For me, the result was a dish that lacked flavor, any sense of richness, served with under-cooked pasta. A few of our friends ordered the seafood special, Swordfish served over a bed of black rice and pureed squash. This dish looked amazing. The fish appeared to be tender and flaky and everyone absolutely devoured their dinners. My wife had the Carbonara. Similar to my dish, it was served al dente, leaving the experience a bit underwhelming. For me, Carbonara is the epitomy of richness and rich this was not. If you are looking for a great place for "date night" I think the Kitchen Table could meet the bill but for my taste, the Kitchen Table was a once and done. read more

Another wonderful meal! Sat at the bar, I was dining alone. The bartender was sweet and served up my cocktails with perfect timing. A crudo should be light, delicate and beautiful presentation. The slices of fish were more like "hunks". The fennel was large and chunky like it was the part you wouldn't want to serve and there wasn't enough mint or oil to have a small amount with each bite. For my entree I ordered the carbonara. The pasta was lovely. So fresh and the reason I came here. The sauce was well made and delicious. I wish there has been a bit more of it. TKT is an absolutely incredible restaurant offering a great experience all around. We dined in on a Saturday night. It was busy, but it's also a small space, which makes it feel very homey. It's like you're dining in someone's home. It's beautifully decorated, and the open kitchen adds to the experience. The menu rotates so you'll never know quite what to expect, but for me, that's a plus. Checking the menu online would be wise if you want to avoid surprises. The wine list is extensive. I selected a Barbera d'Asti, which was beautiful. They also have beer and cocktails, but wine is the clear winner here. Almost every table had a full wine glass or a wonderful bottle. Our server was great and gave us great advice. She recommended that we order everything at the same time so that the chef could plan out our evening and we could relax and enjoy our meal--another pro-level hospitality move. We ordered the fried zucchini, the fettuccini carbonara, and the pesto sausage pizza. Each dish was delivered quickly, yet perfectly spaced apart. Another pro move came when the busser took my wife's fork after the appetizer, and the waitress came right behind and replaced the fork without skipping a beat. I would have had to ask for a new fork at almost every other restaurant I have ever been to. The fried zucchini was perfectly tender and not overly battered. It was just barely crusted but still perfectly crispy. The dipping sauce was also scrumptiously savory and a great pairing. The pesto pizza was magnificent. The pesto was incredibly fresh and herbaceous, and it's clear that they use fresh ingredients. So glad we ordered a pizza. We were originally on the fence since the rest of the menu is a bit more upscale, but the pizza is totally worth it. The carbonara was so well seasoned. The pasta was cooked to perfection. There was plenty of pancetta, and it was sprinkled with fresh parmesan. It was a winning dish for sure. I will most definitely be back to TKT. Wow, this place tasted so heavenly! The BEST pasta I have ever eaten here in town! I'd rate this place more than just a 5 star! First off, the service was very welcoming, friendly, well informative regarding menu, and quick (food wait). Second, their pasta noodles is freshly made everyday. And lastly, the atmosphere was very lowkey and chill. The perfect pasta place for a date, celebrate a birthday, or just a relaxing evening with friend. I had a normal date dinner with my two cousin-in-laws and it turned out to be a simple surprise dinner. We ordered the raviolo uovo but for me, it wasn't my cup of tea. If you're not a fan of egg yolk, don't get it. I could taste the fresh ravioli but the egg yolk was overpowering. We shared it together and each peace we get we'd dip into the runny yolk on the plate that was leftover. I ordered the papparadelle & burrata and man that was insanely delicious! The spice kick was just right. I also tried what my family members ordered, the tagliatelle aglio olio and fettuccini carbonara, it was all yummy too! Pretty good food! I came here for dinner as a walk in, they were pretty packed. I got the option to sit at the bar or the two high tops which was pretty nice. For foods I had the octopus for an appetizer and it was really good, it was grilled and paired with tomato's and some pine nuts. For entree I ordered the Hokkaido scallops and was not disappointed, I love scallops and these were delicious. The middle had potato's and corn. Wow, this was the first visit (soon many) to The Kitchen Table! This eatery is nestled in a beautiful part of town, the vibes are intimate, the bar is the centerfold and beautifully crafted, but most importantly, the dishes were delicious! Reviewed is the gnocchi with winter squash and the fettuccine carbonara. Both dishes were wonderful, the hand-made pasta was cooked to perfection and the balance of textures and tastes was impeccable. The portions were absolutely perfect, and overall, I can't wait to try more dishes and update this review to include more! Additionally, we did not have a reservation, but they did offer bar seating and they have extra tables (two to be exact) for walk-ins. I highly recommend getting a reservation though! Such a cute spot in Reno. I was traveling with family on a long road trip and was looking for a nice place to have our final dinner in. I'm very glad I came to The Kitchen Table. The service was incredible, the food came out fast and our server was so kind, always checking on us and made sure our glasses of water were filled. I got the gnocchi which itself was delicious, I just wasn't the hugest fan of the sauce as it was mostly a large pool of butter. However my dad got the carbonara and those noodles and the sauce was impeccable, and my brother got a mushroom onion pizza that was unlike anything I'd ever had, so I just might have ordered wrong for myself. And definitely don't skimp on dessert. We got the beignets that were perfectly warm and served with an incredible yet not too sweet chocolate sauce. A perfect way to end our meal. read more

Yum! First time here and I can already say we will definitely be back to try more yummy food. When we arrived they were already fully booked but we could sit at the bar or at a high table. We chose the high table which was more private but it was right next to the door so I was pretty cold but it was still nice. The place was pretty small but packed with people and had a pretty chill vibe but with upscale food. They only had one bathroom by the front so people had to stand and wait for someone to leave before they could go in. First off, I noticed that the bread and butter was $5 which is wild since they are almost always free at other restaurants. Servers were really nice and food actually came out very fast. We ordered the mushroom and polenta (10/10) grilled octopus with eggplant (10/10) if you would have blindfolded me and asked what was served with the grilled octopus, I would have never guessed it was eggplant. It was so delicious and sweet. Hubby ordered the rib eye steak and asked for medium rare but it was super chewy and pretty rare (7/10), I got the Tagliatelle Aglio Olio which had a generous amount of shrimp and clams but a little too oily and bland (7/10) and for dessert we got the Panna cotta (9/10). We hadn't been to kitchen table since the new ownership took over and we knew we probably needed a reservations. I looked online and my husband decided to call and both were showing a 7 PM reservation so that is what we took. We decided on inside since we weren't sure if the outside would be too warm on this summer evening, but it was also a lovely option.. The food was fresh and amazing as we remembered it with a lot of unique choices. My pasta seafood dish with the clams and shrimp was one of the lightest and freshest pasta I've had in the area and one I really enjoyed and would go back and have again. The rustica bread side (although we wished it came with the dinner) we added on as an extra was fresh warm and lightly crispy on the outside, and we easily ate the whole quarter loaf despite being full from our entrées, but it complemented the entrées wonderfully. The only reason for the four star rating tonight was the chicken saltinbocca was really over salted and too salty in both my husband and my opinion and there were no vegetables or anything else with this entree. I know that saltiness is the nature of this dish, but it still seemed was overdone for our liking. The quality of food was wonderful. The chicken was fresh and tender as was the prosciutto and it was a good portion. We were too full for dessert but we will try them again sometime to try more of their wonderful entrees. read more

I've been here a few times and the most recent was last week. I came with a friend and it was my least favorite meal I've had so far but I'll definitely return again. To start, I ordered a Pomegranate Paloma (I think that's what it was called) and he ordered an Espresso Martini. Both drinks were delicious! It's a must to order the Raviolo Uovo with bread and butter as a Starter. The ravioli is so fantastic and you'll want the bread to soak up the leftover sauce. I usually order the Fettuccini Carbonara and I'm sorry I didn't but I wanted to try something new and the waitress suggested the Pappardelle Arrabbiata. It's described as Brisket Ragu in a spicy tomato sauce with Burrata. To start, there was no heat to the sauce so I added a lot of chili flakes. The Brisket was very tough and hard to chew. I don't think it was sliced against the grain. The tomato sauce had an overwhelming "Tomato paste" flavor. I ate a few bites, took the rest home and threw it away. My friend ordered the Mushroom Ravioli which comes with a Parmesan cream sauce. I'm not a big fan of mushrooms but I still wanted to taste it. The raviolis were cooked perfectly but the sauce had no flavor. The restaurant is always very clean and the staff are attentive and friendly. We made reservations for late dinner on a Friday night. It was very busy. However our table was ready and we were seated right away. I enjoyed watching the chef, cooks and helpers behind the scene thanks to the open kitchen. Drinks were served right away. Nice bottle of chilled Pinot Grigio. My glass was not polished so I had to send it back. They made it right and provided a complimentary drink. For dinner we order spaghetti bolognese and a loaf of bread. The bread was nice and warm, fresh made. I wished the butter had been room temperature. It was frozen and it was hard to scrape it and spread it on the bread. The pasta noodles were light and delicate. The bolognese was very flavorful and meaty. I loved the panna cotta to end our dinner on great note. Keibert provided very good service. He's personable and efficient. His recommendations were very valuable. The atmosphere was a little loud but it was a Friday night. Let's give it the benefit of the doubt. Overall a great experience. The Ravioli and Shishito Peppers were great appetizers to start off with and Seafood Tagliatelle Entree was delicious as well, I would highly recommend all three. If you're a wine drinker, I paired it with the Cheverny Blanc from France and it complimented the dishes nicely throughout. The ambiance is very nice but it's a quaint place, so if you're looking for a table you need to do some planning and get a reservations in advance (especially on the weekend). They have 6 bar spots and 2 bar tables where they don't take reservations, but I was still lucky to get a spot. I think in the Summer they will have a couple additional tables open up outside as well. We have wanted to try The Kitchen Table for some time but have never made reservations in a timely manner. You definitely need reservations, as the restaurant is small and cozy with limited seating. I would guess there are a dozen or so tables spread out nicely. The restaurant is tucked away in a strip mall. It is nicely decorated, and the lighting was also pleasant. The service was prompt but not rushed. Our server was efficient but did not interact with our table; she went straight to business, asking for our order. She seemed to lack that warm and welcoming type of service, which was fine by us. Also, note that you should be prepared to order your appetizer and main dish simultaneously when placing your food order. We were told that we could not just order apps to start and then wait later to order our main dishes, as this is what the kitchen preferred. As such, we felt like we had to rush. The food was good, fresh and everything had a nice flavor. My wife and I have gone back and forth about the price. I think it was far too pricey for what we got. Atmosphere - Fairly busy for a Tuesday evening. Because we did NOT have reservations, we were given the option of sitting at the bar or outside. Fairly small local business, but if you add up the indoor, outdoor, and bar seating = decent size. Plenty of mall parking. Open 7 days a week for dinner from 5pm to 9pm. Service - Good. I/we actually prefer sitting at the bar because it usually has the best service available. It also helps that this bar has only 8 seats, so a good ratio of bartender to customer. Had a great time with family enjoying wine and reminiscing about our trip to Italy. We share frito misto, ravioli uovo- star of the dinner! Tried this restaurant a couple of days to celebrate a birthday. We made a reservation and as soon as we walked in, we were given a table right away. It was full when we first came in and the restaurant was not very big. But it was still aesthetically pleasing. We definitely took our time and ordered multiple items. We ordered two cocktails to start the night. For appetizers, we ordered the ravioli uvolo and fritto misto. I highly recommend the ravioli with bread. It was so delicious. My husband and I shared a salad which was perfect serving. For entree I ordered the short rib and he ordered the steak. The portion was perfect and both dishes were great. My short rib wasn't as tender as I wanted but, still yummy. We ended with the smore dessert. Overall, the food was amazing and the staff were accommodating. I have been wanting to try this place for a while. When out of town guests came to visit, I thought it was the perfect time to finally go. It's on the smaller side so not too many tables available. Having outdoor seating helps though. I suggest making reservations because of the limited seating. I was able to get 5pm reservations the day of and took them. I did notice the disclaimer that if you don't show, you are charged $20 per person. That seemed a bit extreme for Reno but again, it's a small restaurant so I get it. First impression was, it's a cute place. Second impression was the waitress was new and the service, especially the drink service was slow. My husband ordered a Manhattan and the type of alcohol he asked with it was wrong both times. But he drank both drinks so not a big deal. The waitress did let us know the chef likes to have all the orders in at once so make sure you know what apps and entrees you want because you need to order at the same time but they do come out at separate times so again, not a big deal. The food though was very basic and bland. We ordered: Shashito Peppers- aioli dipping sauce was good Bread and Butter app-bread was good (enough for 4 people) Bone Marrow- was good. Tasted like it should Flank Steak-bland Crispy Polenta and Mushroom- flavorful but small. I ordered it as an entree but it's an app on their menu Fish Special- my son in law said it was fine but small so he left hungry. Overall, we all felt the food was basic, bland, and nothing special and there is no reason to go back but I'm glad we tried it. A great spot for date nights! My husband and I planned a little winter staycation just to relax and reset and I told him I would plan everything for us except dinner, that was his job. The Kitchen Table is where he decided to make us a reservation, after agonizing over what I would like for dinner. This was an excellent choice! I know it sounds silly but I just wanted tea because it was cold outside (and we had a bottle of wine back at the hotel) and they had a very nice selection of teas. We split the olives, polenta and mushrooms and raviolo for our starter, all of which were very good. I had the best olives in my life that night! The mushrooms were so buttery and delicious and all of the flavors in the Raviolo were yummy too, even if the pasta was a little too tough for my taste. For our mains, my husband had the Hokkaido Scallop Risotto and I had the Prosciutto and Pear Pizza and we were so happy we did. We called last minute for a reservation for 4 and they were able to get us in before the 2nd seating arrived at 7:30pm, which was great. Our server was attentive without feeling pushy - had a solid feel for timing in terms of getting us fed & out of there by the7:30p ETA for 2nd seating. We tried the ravioli uovo & maitake mushroom apps - both phenomenal. But if you're only up for one, make it the uovo. It's decadent, large & shareable, and filled with an amazing truffle flavor (yes - it's very truffle forward, so skip it if you're not a truffle fan). All 4 of our table guests were thrilled by the uovo experience. For entrees, we had the mushroom ravioli (pictured), pappardelle + burrata, tagliatelle aglio olio, & a Caesar salad + chicken. We also added a side of truffle fries, because why not?! The mushroom ravioli was a beautiful pasta filled with fresh mushroom and topped with a rich Parmesan sauce and a dash of truffle oil - a perfect flavor profile in my truffle loving opinion. The crunchy sage cut the richness nicely - I could have had a couple extra leaves of sage and been totally fine with it. The star of the show for me, was the pappardelle + burrata. The red sauce, with flakes of red pepper that gave it a little heat with the calming creaminess of a bit of burrata made for an outstanding bite every time. That was not my entree, so I was only able to pick off a couple bites, but I will order that one next time for sure. I did not taste the tagliatelle aglio olio, but it looked divine and my son assured me that was the case. And of course the truffle fries were a hit. I can't be for sure, but I think they used a truffle salt on them, which made for a new 'truffle fry' experience. The truffle flavor was much milder than most fries have, and I really enjoyed that. Dessert was as you see (all pictured) - sweet & tasty. The table favorite was definitely the panna cotta - it was smooth and light, more like a yogurt than a rich creamy dessert. The beignets were crispy & airy. I didn't love the chocolate sauce. It said it was milk chocolate, but it was a little bitter to me. I used a scoop of the coffee ice cream to make my espresso into an affogato, which was delicious. Overall, our experience and food was spot on. Came back here for a second time and this time brought my husband. The chef here is remarkable! We had the mushroom and polenta for an appetizer which has a very tasty broth and the mushroom tasted like meat! I had the catch of the day seabass and my husband had pasta. We shared brussel sprouts since they are my favorite side! We also received excellent service from our runner and server Jenna! We made reservation for the wrong night - the hostess was very accommodating and tried to fit us in. They were busy on a Tuesday night and I've read every night . We will be back. I have dined here many times but the last few times have been disappointing. i can give an off night pass once in a while but last week was when I decided to review hoping the chef takes this seriously. We ordered a pizza. There was nothing that indicated this was wood fired. No Smokey flavor, no areas of char, the crust was so tough it was hard to cut. Could have been a frozen pizza in a microwave.. The carbonara was not creamy, it was dry, bland, and not the correct noodle. The polenta with mushroom was a watery mess. Gone was that infused rich sauce I love and the mushroom was so firm I wonder how it was cooked. (If at all) Service was fine. Our meal in its entirety arrived in probably less than 15 minutes.... A record especially for a "wood fired pizza" i must say this was a Wednesday night the restaurant was half full, there was no reason for the food that was served. Enjoyed dinner for 2 here on a Saturday night. Service was excellent, our server Bailey was very knowledgeable on the menu and so kind! It was a full house but nothing felt too cramped or slow. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer, a salad, 2 pasta dishes and the beignets. Everything came out timely. read more

This was our second visit and we will certainly be back. Well stocked wine cellar with regional and international wines. Not a huge menu but everything we have tried has been fantastic. Service is outstanding we had a large party and in this intimate space they handled everything exceptionally well! Plenty of parking outside and this place is known for homemade pasta. I chose fish which was ok halibut not my favorite or rice but beautiful presentation. Good selection of wines and cocktails. We selected the recommended wine from our server and loved it! read more
