Recently opened in NS's old location on South Virginia, Cook'd has a menu that already outshines NS and a 7 day a week happy hour!! Not a good first visit... let me start by saying I don't like drinking from a Mason Jar, water and soda are no big deal... but don't put cocktails in a threaded jar it's lame. We ordered 2 beverages and only got one. We ordered an appetizer but it never came, we both ordered chicken sandwiches that looked good but were extremely salty! I cannot say enough good. We are "local" (live north Reno about an hour away). We come to town to run errands and MAYBE get a nice hour lunch. We took a gamble on a new spot today and we WON. The food was incredible, and REASONABLY priced. Huge menu, lots of fantastic cocktails (may I suggest the tumbleweed with a Myers dark rum float....!) AND military discount. We can't wait to come back. Stunning patio with healthy greenery. PS- fantastic service from Shianne and whoever the GM was he was so accommodating and provided lovely samples. WE WILL BE BACK! Pss- Salame's bad review is hilarious- his cocktails were affected by the glass it's serviced in? Sir, call me an alcoholic, but I would take a Gin and tonic from a bulls dried nut sack if it meant great service and a buzz on a lovely American day. read more

Memorial Day lunch. Sat in the bar, but the outdoor dining area looked really inviting and we'll try that next visit. Comforatble atmosphere, but service was not great even considering that our server was also training a new server. Perhaps this is because the restaurant has only been open 4 weeks. We waited a good 15 minutes before servers showed to take drink orders (no beer list available; the server had to verbally share) and then another 15 minutes before drinks arrived at the table - and this was just a glass of wine and a draft beer. Food order was placed before drinks arrived and it took another 10 minutes before requested water was served. The food was pretty good: Fish & Chips included 4 pieces of fish and the cod tasted very fresh with a light crispy coating; the Hangover Burger was cooked to order and had a delicious combo of cheese, bacon, and egg. On both dishes the french fries were subpar: shoestring-style, not crisp, and on the Fish & Chips, the fries were under the fish and pretty saturated with oil. Personally, I would not serve Fish & Chips in a bowl so that the fish and the chips could be side-to-side. We'd like to give it another chance, but will probably wait a few months to see if the service issues can be improved. read more

We showed up on a Friday to try HH at the new place, Cook'd. Building is really nice, bright and lots of seating options. We chose low table in lounge. We received service promptly both friendly and helpful. We tried the prime rib sliders, pickle fries, bang bang shrimp and delicious lemon dessert. All were excellent and very tasty. Only small suggestion would be to add au jus dip to prime rib sliders. Thank you for lovely service and food, we will definitely be back. Highly recommended! read more

Went for lunch, never been there before loved how they remodeled and it looks great inside. They still have some kinks to work out for sure. However, The food was just ok. Tortilla soup was not that good, the salad was good but not what I ordered. Service was slow and she never smiled no personality, bartender looked like she just rolled out of bed. For only being open a few weeks, impressive food, drinks, and service! We ordered the Bruschetta, Boom Boom Shrimp, and Artichoke Dip...All delicious...My favorite, the Bruschetta. The wine list did not disappoint. Great selection and reasonable per glass and bottle prices. I had a nice Chianti, and my friend enjoyed her Sauv Blanc. We interacted with 4 different staff members, all friendly and accommodating. I will be back to sit bybthe waterfall and try that lovely Lobster Roll! read more

First visit to this restaurant. I ordered guacamole and chips, the chips are not corn tortillas and the guac needed seasoning/lemon/cilantro. My husband ordered soup and salad, soup was not great. His soda was flat. My salmon was under cooked. The server was nice. Sad that the food experience wasn't positive. read more

What a fun new restaurant. A cool vibe for all ages, plenty of seating inside and out. Cool ambience inside. The menu is extensive, a little bit of every type of food you could want. We went on a Wednesday night about 6:45 and it was quick service and the food came out super quick and the service was great. We ordered the chicken and waffles, bbq personal pizza, shrimp scampi, lasagna, and friend shrimp app and the garlic chip. All of the food was really good. The sauce in the shrimp scampi was a bit heavy but very good tasting and a ton of sauce for the lasagna plenty for dipping your garlic chips. The garlic chips were great, kids loved those. Limited kids menu if your kids are picky. We met the owner who was walking around so that was a nice added bonus, super nice guy! We look forward to going back soon! read more

Tried this restaurant today. Ambiance and service was great. I had a tri-tip sandwich and a cup of soup. The sandwich came on just regular small sourdough bread. There was only one layer of steak and a couple of the pieces were a little tough. Most of the time these type of sandwiches are piled pretty thick with the meat. I was very disappointed. read more

The first time I was going to check the new place out I walked in a stood around for a while with nobody asking or attending to seating. So I just left. Then tried it again tonight 6/7. I asked for outdoor. Nothing available then manger said there's one outside. Great the only table with no shade. So we said no. Took a table inside and were handed menus. 15 minutes went by with no one coming to take any drink or menu order. We weren't going to wait any longer. We did see a table close to us that came in after us get serviced. I don't know about the food but because of the service and vibe I won't recommend or go back for a third try. Has potential. We ordered a couple appetizers that were lack luster. Garlic chips didn't taste like garlic at all, even the cheese was flavorless. The boom boom shrimp had hardly any sauce. The garlic chips advertised to come with ranch never saw it and the waiter never even checked in on us or our food. I think the servers must be new and learning. Soda's weren't on the menu so I was surprised to see they cost $4.95 and wasn't offered a refill either. A little steep for a non alcoholic drink. With a good manager willing to teach this place could easily be a go to spot since it has a nice outdoor patio. Not sure if I'd come back. read more
