Because it was raining, it wasn't too crowded, but there were quite a few people eating in. I ordered the Black Garlic Ramen, Vegetable Ramen and Chicken Ramen. I ended up with the Black Garlic ramen which wasn't bad, but too much garlic is too much of a good thing for me. I will consider the Chicken Ramen next time since the grilled chicken was pretty good. A nice, warm cozy ramen place amidst all the other food places in a bustling Livermore area. We weren't very hungry, just needed something warm on a cold night. Ramen selection is pretty in line with other Ramen places. What sets them apart was that the order taker took the time to ask me how spicy I like my ramen to be. I was never asked that before. It was always assumed that we all like it spicy. Really appreciate it- mine is always no spice. Side order of chicken kara age had been a wise decision. Chicken good just right - soft and crunchy. Ramen 101 is one of my favorite Dublin restaurant discoveries! The restaurant is located in Fallon Center and is unassuming from the frontage. Inside there are a handful of small tables as well as booth seating available. A beautiful mural of Mt. Fuji adorns one of the inside walls. The ramen is customized based on spicy tolerance and there are a range of toppings that may be added. The veggie ramen is particularly delicious. Okay, so I was DESPERATE for ramen, so my friend encouraged me to give Ramen 101 another try, choosing a different ramen and NOT the seafood one again. The noodles did stay in a clump for a long time even after mixing and trying to break them apart, but the flavor was excellent. I do wish they threw in more than two fishcake pieces, but desperate times. It is pretty pricey, I'm so used to paying $10 at most for ramen in Tracy, but I get it, Pleasanton is just pricier in general. I'm very disappointed with this place, I was very excited to have found it today. I'm under the weather and needed ramen. I'm giving 1 start not only because it didn't taste good, but because the owner (I think) was some what of a prude. Let me break down why I feel the ramen wasn't good. Noodles tasted like they had been reheated, heat of broth was Luke warm to the point the egg didn't cook and my guy pushed it to the bottom of his bowl for at least 5 mins., taste of broth was bland (mind you I got spicy no spice), pork had noooooo flavor it seemed as if they didn't marinate prior they just boiled, cut, & threw it in the soup. Both my guy and I felt as if the ramen looked and tasted like they could of reheated in a microwave before they served us. We've eaten Ramen everywhere it's kinda an addiction and we know good ramen! This was no good ramen Now let me break down how the owner (I think he had on no socks and wasn't behind the counter) treated us. He literally made us feel uncomfortable and walked passed our table multiple times just staring at us. It was like he was watching to see if we were going to steal something (you pay for your food before you're served) he took it upon his self to refill chopsticks on our table but no one else (there were two other parties also dining in). I looked at the table behind my guy and they looked like needed a refill on chop sticks, but it wasn't the fact that he only refilled our table it was in the way he did it. He didn't say excuse me made sure he did it while we're eating which is rude af to me. Like he could have waited until we left, there were so many other tables not attended to with no one eating on them that he could have spruced up. When I finally got fed up with forcing myself to eat the ramen I started this review. I look up and he's doing it again, walking by and giving us the side eye. So I say hello how are you and it caught him off guard but he engaged in conversation trying to make up for me catching the side eye!!! He asked was there anything wrong with the food and I simply gave him a short review raving about Concord Ramen 101 and how they are better and he's missing something. I've seen this place around and I think it's a chain, so I wanted to try this place out. I came here with my husband, and I had a coupon so I was excited to try it out. I always want to try all the ramen places in the TriValley area until I find one comparable to the ones in South Bay. So this place is very casual, order at the counter, and food is served to you. So we got the black garlic and Tonkotsu ramen. Food came out surprisingly faster than we expected. Water is self-serve as well. It's pretty small inside, there's not a lot of large tables, but due to the "fast" food style, people seem to come in and out quickly. The portion size was decent but the quality of the broth and ramen was not worth returning for. I didn't think it was amazing but we were content they gave us more than other places. I think the broth could have used more flavor, the black garlic had a good garlic flavor but the broth needed more depth and mfph. Parking here is pretty straight forward and easy. Overall, I don't think this place is worth returning for. This would be good for a quick lunch/dinner if you just want mediocre ramen. read more

Decent ramen place in the area. I got the spicy tonkotsu and my girlfriend got the roasted garlic. The noodles are a good chewy texture and the broth was not bad. This definitely won't be the best ramen place you've ever been to but if you live in the area and want to fill your ramen fix this place will do it. The portion sizes and price are very good especially being in Dublin. About $12 a bowl and it will fill you up. This spot has to be one of my favorite ramen restaurants in the East Bay. The portion sizes are great, they give you really flavorful thick cuts of pork chasu and a whole egg instead of only half! (I added an extra one). The egg was a little over cooked and a bit cold, but not bad. I got the spicy miso ramen which wasn't too spicy, but still flavorful! This restaurant is tucked away in a busy shopping center and finding parking can take a minute, but there's usually plenty (you may just have to walk a bit). The inside is not very big but the staff is very attentive and turn tables rather quickly (without being pushy). read more

We ordered: Vegetable ramen- Miso base (no meat/pork) with ramen noodle, tofu, mushroom, green onion, sprouts and corn. I ordered mine with fried garlic for $1 more. The ramen and broth was fresh and tasted like quality food, actually everything in my bowl was fresh. Good portion, I struggled finishing it and the fried garlic was whole garlic cloves. I ordered it spicy but wasn't too spicy, more mild. Highly recommend if you're vegetarian! Seafood ramen- Fresh seafood, not frozen stuff that was thawed! Very tasty and fresh, great broth. This is a great ramen spot for the area. This area of Dublin/San Ramon/Livermore is continuously expanding and I was fortunate enough to find this title ramen spot in this plaza that is up and coming! I've been here about 4-5 times now and have honestly loved it every time. I always get the Miso Ramen, but many of my friends love the Tonkotsu Ramen as well! You get to choose your spicy level when you order. I don't think their spicy levels are very spicy, as I get "Spicy" (their highest level) and it's not as spicy as I would've expected it to be. So I'd say, if you are someone who usually orders Mild spicy at restaurants, try going up one and go with medium! Also, they have really good appetizers! Portions for those are HUGE, great for sharing. Last thing about this place, is that you order first then given a number and with open seating. Food comes out extremely fast and is very delicious. This is my daughter's favorite ramen restaurant. I don't have to worry about her finishing or eating her food. Tonkatsu is her favorite. She said it's 5 out of 5. I personally think it's decent but needs more depth in flavor. Their spicy level is probably medium in comparison to other restaurants. The spice is not quite incorporated with the broth. My husband sometimes ask for extra peppers. The pork belly on the soup is delish but the egg is a hit and miss. Sometimes, the yolk is too hard and the egg was not completely flavored. We ordered some ramen and a bunch of apps to go on a rainy night. I was greeted by one of the employees after entering the restaurant. The ordering process was fast and easy. We ordered Shoyu Ramen (Soy sauce soup base with roasted pork, boiled egg, kikurage mushroom, green onion, sprouts, and fish cake; plain ramen with a chicken stock base. Spam musubi (rice and spam wrapped tightly around with seaweed), vegetable tempura, chicken kara-age (Japanese style popcorn chicken), lumpia (Filipino style mini egg rolls filled with pork and veggies), crab rangoons (deep fried wonton wrappers filled with cream cheese and imitation crab), and gyoza (pork potstickers). The ramen stock was packaged separately as a pour over when you are ready to eat which we preferred to avoid soggy noodles. The ramen was cooked to perfection, the soup based wasn't overly salty and was balanced well with the mushroom, green onion, and sprouts. The pork portion was small but tender. The Spam musubi were well made, wrapped tight, and didn't fall apart. The chicken kara-age was generously battered, the chicken was tender and went well with the dipping sauce. We were a little disappointed the crab rangoons had imitation crab. The vegetable tempura, lumpia, and gyoza were as expected and decent finger food. This is a review during the S.I.P. restrictions to manage the spread of Covid-19. The best way to describe this place is - a fast food Ramen Noodle house. The menu features just ramen, bowls and various Japanese side dishes. It has no outdoor seating so it is restricted to either delivery or take out orders. Most dishes are about $10 for the basic item. You can add extra toppings like extra noodles, additional pieces of pork or eggs, extra dried seaweed, corn, mushrooms, etc. But, it would be hard to get the price with these extras to go beyond $15. They do have some side dishes that are real bargains. Seaweed Salad is only $4.49 and the portion is quite generous. They offer a large portion of Karaage (Japanese Style Fried Chicken Tenders) for $7.99/order that is nice and crispy breading and very moist, tender interior. They cut a whole in the plastic container to allow the hot, deep fried, chicken to 'breathe.' Otherwise, it would trap the moisture from the hot chicken and the crispy batter would be lost as it becomes soggy without any ventilation. I tried to use the website to submit my order online. But, after going though the selection process and providing CC payment info, it wants to 'verify' that I am a real customer so it sends me a 5 digit code via my mobile phone and is to be inserted into a box of the online order. I do that and it comes back as "invalid code" and wants me to do it all over! After fiddling with it for 10 minutes, I give up and call them to give my order verbally over the phone. I picked up my order without incident but it was very aggravating trying to make the online order submission work. There were 3 of us for dinner so the order was for 3 orders of Ramen (Tonkatsu, Pork Rib and Miso flavors), plus 2 orders of Karaage and a Seaweed Salad. When ordering, you can specify how spicy you want the base soup to be. All three of our ramens were 'medium' spicy. The pricing for everything can be seen on the photo of the receipt. It was all very good. The noodles + toppings were packed separately from the soup base. The staff were very nice and they were quick and efficient in putting up the order and the way they boxed it all up was very well done. Portions were generous enough that my wife and I had enough soup and noodles for another meal. Only my adult son ate his whole Ramen order. If it had not been for the online order process being a bust, I would have rated this 5 stars. They should fix it. I'm very confused why this place doesn't have a better rating...I've been here twice now and had a great experience each time. To start off, order at the counter. The menu is constructed so that you can customize and build your own ramen. Choose a broth, choose your noodles, and add toppings. I usually go for the black garlic ramen--its so savory and fatty without being too oily--perfectly balanced. I only add a soft-boiled egg, because it already comes with corn, bamboo shoots and all the fixings. My sister had the veggie ramen and loved it as well. The ramen is so filling that I never have room to try any of the sides, but they also have gyoza, takoyaki, and donburi (to name a few). Food comes out almost instantly! I barely had a chance to sit down before they were bringing it to my table. This is my go-to lunch spot now when I'm in the mood for ramen. read more

Everyone seems to come and go, and it's not overly crowded anymore especially with all the newer restaurants opening up around it. ~ Clean dining for the most part. The staff seems to be attentive on cleaning up a table right away; Primarily due to the high customer traffic. STAFF: Fairly nice and quick from ordering to delivery. Believe me, the ramen comes out fast, so be ready. For the most part they've been helpful trying to get folks seated right away. No issues. APPS & RAMEN: ~ Kaki Fry (5.99) - Six pieces of small oysters and one plump one. Not bad, but I think I'd enjoy fried pickles over these. I know... totally different items, but basically it's not worth it imo. ~ Chicken Karage (7.99) - Eh, my coworker loves these. They're pretty decent with it's crispy breading. This one's for garlic-lovers! It's similar to the tonkatsu ramen only less meaty tasting. There is a slice or two of pork, and does have slightly softer flavor. It's obviously the garlic! I've dined-in a good four or five times in the last three months thus, and I'll be back. 3.5 or 4 stars depending if you like the fast casual restaurant scene. I came in at the dinner rush hour on a Saturday with a party of 4. You walk up and order your ramen first before you sit down. The great thing is that the food comes out FAST. As a result the wait time for a large table was not too long, however, there was another party of 6 that had to wait quite a bit longer before getting a table made for them. During my visit, I ordered the black garlic ramen. Personally I thought the ramen was a bit on the more oily/heavy side on the ramen spectrum. $10.99 isn't particularly cheap, however it can't be considered too expensive either considering the area it's in. Each bowl comes with the full fixings that come with ramen.(bean sprouts, corn, bamboo shoots, seaweed, soft boiled egg) To iterate a point made by a couple of the reviews is that the black garlic ramen comes with quite a few pieces of roast garlic so prepare a couple mints if you're here for a date. To sum up my experience, it was hard to distinguish the flavors between the other ramen restaurants in the area. You could go to Osaka Ramen in the Ulfert Center or Hisui Express next door and have an almost identical ramen give or take a dollar difference in price.
