After losing my voice on a week-long trip to San Francisco, I craved some soup. While shopping in the area, my family and I decided to have dinner at Ramen 101. Though the restaurant was busy, we were able to find a table for our party of four right away. The space was cozy yet provided ample seating. The staff at Ramen 101 was friendly and attentive. Our group ordered a variety of entrees, and I chose the seafood ramen and green tea. Seafood ramen isn't something I come across often, so I was eager to try theirs. Priced at $16.99, it included shrimp, scallop, fish cake, boiled egg, corn, green onion, bean sprouts, and bamboo shoots. The portion was generous, packed with protein, and the broth was flavorful. It was filling and I enjoyed it. My party enjoyed their entrees as well. No complaints!
Ramen 101 is a decent Japanese spot. It's not the most amazing, but it'll get the job done. I went with a bowl of Black Garlic Ramen and it was pretty tasty. I think I would've rather gotten the Tonkotsu though--next time! There are lots of good eats in this plaza and Ramen 101 is a solid choice if you're not sure where to eat.
Great ramen spot in Dublin! They had quite a variety of options and I was happy to see they had a vegan option. This one had tofu and an array of interesting mushrooms. The portions are huge and service is fast and friendly. Great spot for lunch!

We came at around 8:30pm. We had miso and tonkatsu ramen. The broth were really good. We like their takoyaki as well. Service was ok but when I asked for a cup of water, it never came. Ambiance was okay too. I like their wall. Reminded us of our trip to Japan.
Always a favorite! DoorDash tonight; but I can say that the service is always fast, friendly and helpful and the location itself is clean and welcoming. Comfort food at its finest, I like to order the black garlic ramen, no shoots but added tofu and topped with kimchi. Perfection!
This place is in a shopping strip where there is plenty of parking. The staff were very helpful and friendly and helped us with the menu. The place is clean and the food was amazing. We will definitely be back.
I've ordered here a couple times and it was just okay...but this time will probably be my last. The pork rib I received this time was way too overcooked, the plastic fork couldn't even poke it. It tasted like it was just reheated and the meat was so tough and dry that it kept getting stuck in my teeth. Ordered crab rangoons that seemed to be not cooked all the way. The middle part was still pretty doughy, and no crunch at all. They were covered in so much oil too causing its bag to break. It's so hard to find any good restaurant in Dublin..
I'm a regular at Ramen 101 and Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen is my go-to order (see photo). The spicy broth always hits the spot . Located off Fallon Road and 580 freeway in Dublin, you can enjoy a bowl ramen after a day of exhaustive shopping at the outlet stores. Eat ramen and be happy
This place didn't blow me away- I was hoping for more garlic flavor in my dish. I think everything was just ok if you're trying to get a ramen fix, but I wouldn't come back again. The service was good though!
My coworker introduced me to this location. So it's a first for me here. Employees were friendly and polite. Service was great especially when you're on a crunch one hour lunch break. Our food came out fast! I love anything spicy so I opted for the spicy seafood ramen, while my coworker ordered her usual spicy blacken garlic ramen and their musubi. My ramen was delicious and the portions were great. Had to take my leftover to go. I definitely will return and try the other ramens. It's a cute little spot w plenty of parking next to tons of other eateries, like Crumbles, Starbucks and Coldstone Ice Cream if you have room for coffee or a sweet treat!
Ramen at Ramen 101 has the looks but not the taste. That just about sums up the experience. I suppose I was spoiled by Ajisen Ramen in Fremont. The noodles here are a bit harder rather than chewy. The soup base is bland and even the pork is bland. The chili sauce taste like the spices from northern China. I would still come back if I have the cravings for noodles and am much closer to Dublin than to Fremont.
We stopped by after a few hours at the Outlet. We had 3 bowls of ramen: black garlic and tonkotsu; we also had an order of gyoza, spam musubi, and a bbq chicken and katsu combo. Ramen was great, gyoza was on point, Hawaiian chicken combo was good- bad: spam musubi was pretty flavorless, like it wasn't cooked with the sauce, and they were out of half of their fountain sodas and ice. Ordered takeout and wasn't sure how that'd work but they packaged the base and the toppings separately and you can pour the best right into the toppings bowl. I got the spicy black garlic ramen and it was tasty but not spicy at all, also felt like the quantity of meat was lacking. Pretty good overall read more

Food is very similar to the one in Downtown Pleasanton, minus the parking woes. You order at the counter and food is delivered to your table. The food came out super quickly. We ordered almost the same things. Nearly all of the tables were full at dinnertime on a Saturday evening. Lots of families with small kids, which is what you'd expect for this area. The Tonkotsu ramen ($11.50) was pretty good, but the broth not as fatty or salty as more authentic ramen places. Portion size was medium. We added extra noodles for $2.50 (one order for two of us) and it filled us up. Noodles are a bit softer than I'd like, but that's a small gripe. Their soft boiled tea eggs are good and I wished we got an extra for $1. The tonkotsu ramen also had wood ear fungus, bamboo shoots, and fish cake. The pork slices were not melt-in-your-mouth tender, but flavorful. DH's black garlic ramen ($11.50) was salty and had a lot of garlic cloves in it. He thought it was saltier than the Downtown Pleas location. The black garlic ramen doesn't come with a tea egg, so add one! There's a 20% off coupon in the My Town mailer for orders over $20. Pretty good deal! Overall, it scratches the ramen cravings. It's good, fast, cheap, however, doesn't have the same depth of flavor as South Bay ramen joints. Ramen 101 lives up to its namesake, very basic ramen that gives you quite a bit for the price. Ramen places are hit or miss in the Tri-Valley. Often there's a tradeoff between price, quality, and quantity. FOOD A bowl of ramen is about $10-$12 and comes loaded with toppings. You may see seaweed, a boiled egg, bamboo shoots, and maybe corn depending on what you order. You can always add more toppings for $1 each. Quality-wise, I would say average since the two large pork pieces were a bit firmer than I liked and not melt-in-your-mouth tender. The noodles were also on the softer side and lacked the chewiness of other good, pricier ramen places like Ippudo and Jinya Ramen Bar. The appetizers are good value too - 7 pieces of fried gyoza for about $4 and two little bricks of grilled spam musubi for $5. SERVICE Food came out real quick, like 5-10 minutes after ordering. Ramen arrived before apps so I suspect maybe the noodles were pre-cooked. AMBIANCE Good-sized restaurant with plenty of parking. read more
I ordered the Black Garlic Ramen and it was okay. The soup base did not have a strong garlic flavor and it lacked the "black garlic oil" which was the entire name of the dish. Soup did not have much flavor and in the end I had to add lots of salt. The egg was also overcooked and didnt have a runny yolk. Overall it was okay. Like would I come back? Maybe not unless my friends want to go there. read more

This was a good place with a friendly cashier. I ordered the black garlic ramen and a chasu bowl. The ramen was very good. I like that they gave a good amount of pork. Noodle tasted great. Broth was good. The Chasu pork was average. The chasu bowl was ok. It didn't have the tasty grilliness, but it was flavored nicely. I won't order it again. read more

Ambiance was off from get go. It's an order at the counter situation, but I got over it. Ramen noddles were ok, but the that's were it ended. Corn was underdone, bamboo shoots rough and chewy, egg over cooked and Porto dry and old. Black garlic ramen was not black, but rather about a full head of roasted garlic? Zero attention to detail on this one. Really the first bad ramen I have had in the Bay Area. read more
I didn't have much expectations for this place after reading some of the reviewed, but I was pleasantly surprised. We walked in on a Sunday evening. There were only a few 4-people tables, and luckily two were open. We ordered, paid, and got a number for our food. We ordered crab rangoon as an appetizer. It was not great. It was basically fried wonton skin (too doughy) with cream cheese and zero crab. Honestly I didn't expect much for $4.99. For ramen, we ordered Tonkatsu and Black Garlic ramen, both spicy. Like someone else mentioned in his review, the ramen came within minutes. Therefore, the noodle was definitely not made to order. I liked the Black garlic one more for its more intense flavor. Positive: +Reasonable price ($10.99) +Large portion of noodle +Large portion of chashu. And it was fall-apart tender and tasted delicious (no stinky pork flavor). I got an end-piece and couldn't finish. Negative: -Egg was overcooked. I want soft-boiled egg with runny yolk, not hard-boiled egg :/ -Noodle did not hold on to broth very well. So I had to put some soup and noodle together in a big spoon to eat them together. -Spicy was not very spicy. But there was chili on the table. Overall, my first experience was better than expected. I would come back if I'm craving ramen again and don't want to drive too far. read more

I got the whole squid and chicken rice bowl. It was a decent price $30 for the two entrees and a drink. I suggest getting something along with the rice bowl for it to be filling enough. I love this place. It has tons of great options, including the rice plates, ramen, appetizers and more. The picture attached is a bbq chicken and katsu rice plate which comes with a lot of meat and is pretty filling and not too expensive. The tonkotsu ramen is also one of my favorites. Overall, not that expensive and had tons of great options and a great restaurant atmosphere. read more

If you want really fast ramen, for cheap, Ramen 101 serves its purpose. You order at the counter and then seat yourself. I ordered the miso ramen and it basically came out 1 minute after I sat down which was nice because speedy service is always appreciated when I'm hungry. Given the speed, I suspect everything is made in gigantic batches, but the portion size was generous and I like that they have a vegetarian ramen option as well. read more
Had a hankering for some Ramen so we headed to the new Ramen 101 in Dublin. I've been to the Ramen 101 store in San Leandro and thought it was pretty good. The new Dublin store is slightly larger and the menu is the same. We ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen and the Unagi Rice. I paid and got a number found a table and sat down. No more then 5 minutes later the bowl of ramen is placed on my table. IMHO there is no way they could have boiled my order of fresh ramen and assembled the bowl and delivered it to my table. The noodles were edible but not made to order. The noodles must be pre cooked. The broth was good. The unagi over rice was ok very simple. The restaurant is busy since there are very few good Ramen options in the Tri-Valley area. The San Leandro store is better. No service order and pay at the counter. Plenty of parking in the shopping center. read more
Not the best ramen for sure, but for $11 per bowl, it's pretty good especially since the portion they serve is generous. Good things: generous portion, lots of noodles, the 2 chashu pork slices that come with each bowl are tender and delicious, delicious spicy sauce on the table that tastes almost like mala chili oil, soft boiled whole egg. Bad things: noodles taste store-bought and are often overcooked, they put bean sprouts on my noodles (eww), broth is just ok and strangely slightly sweet. Overall: since ramen supply in the tri Valley area is pretty thin, I'd go back again :) read more
As with another reviewer, I don't understand the overall low ratings. I mean, this place is never gonna be an authentic Tokyo ramen joint sitting outside a JR line with the sound of slurping drowning in the background. But it doesn't try to be. What this place is, is another decent dining option for those in the area. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's another exclusive ramen place in the general area. Place your order and go find a seat. In about 90 seconds, you get your piping hot bowl of ramen. I actually think it's a bad thing to get your food that fast. Owners take note. Maybe slow down the delivery so I don't think I just got a bowl that was just sitting there. I got a basic miso ramen. The broth was good, noodles were nicely cooked, topping to noodle ratio was there. I mean, I really don't have any complaints. I walked away satisfied. One important thing. Please go out and get an alcohol license. In Hawaii and Japan, most of the ramen joints serve beer. Beer + ramen = goodness. Come on! read more
Extremely fast with their orders. Almost instantly! They must have everything already prepared ahead of time and they just need to assemble the bowl when you order. The black garlic noodles and tonkotsu ramen are both very good, decent-sized bowls of noodles. The black garlic was more savory than the tonkotsu ramen and I highly recommend getting. The noodles were cooked perfectly al dente. I would definitely add an egg, if it doesn't already come with one. I feel like it's not ramen unless you've got a piece or 2 of tonkotsu pork and a silky, soft-boiled soy sauce egg. Not too salty either, so that's a plus! Would recommend coming here for a fast lunch. read more

I really, really wanted to like this place. It's the closest "decent" ramen I could find on yelp near San Ramon. Unfortunately, this place can not satisfy my ramen craving. I started off with gyoza while waiting for my friend. It was way too crispy, and felt processed/store bought. The sauce supplied was in a fast food style packet and I received a plastic cup to hold the sauce. . I opted for the spicy tonkotsu ramen. The spiciest option barely grazed me, but props to Ramen 101 for having spices at the table so you can customize your bowl to your liking. The base itself was nothing special, in fact, it almost tasted like microwave instant ramen. The extra noodles I ordered were soft by the time I refilled my bowl. The only reason I gave this place two stars instead of one is because the service was amazing. The staff was friendly and made some great conversation. read more
Pretty good ramen place. We came during lunch rush hour and everything was super fast. We waited like 10 minutes to sit but it's a pay and sit concept so we were still in line waiting to order before our table was ready so it was ok. Once we got seated I literally BLINKED and our food was hot and ready at our table. I rodered the black garlic Ramen. The flavor was great for me. The broth was tasty and the pork cuts included we're delicious. The only thing I can say I would add is more spice. They tell you to pick a spice level and I said medium and I didn't taste any bit of spice. I tried to add hot oil and pepper but it just was not the same. We went on a rainy day and parking was a but crazy. It is a new area for Dublin and other eateries that have been recently added so it is expected. May need to add time to find parking close by or expect to talk a small walk to the restaurant. read more
Finally decided to try this place out after months of driving by. It happened to be a very busy Wednesday or maybe they are constantly crowded at lunch. We happened to snag the last seat available (it is quite a small space). Two parties arrived after we did and had to be put on a wait list. The tables are quite small so, for this reason, perhaps this would not be good for groups. But for a fast and cheap meal? Definitely! We ordered 2 ramen bowls and 2 chicken rice bowls for the kids. Food came out hot, quickly and was very filling (generous portions; especially the rice bowls). Service was decent but since they were fairly busy, we had to grab our own waters and refills. Water dispensers are placed in the front of the restaurant for this reason, I suspect. My consensus? Affordable and delicious dining experience. We will be back... read more
Decent ramen. Rich broth. Good sized portions. Other menu items include chicken kaarage and rice bowls. Fair price. Add-ons can be pricey ($1 for green onions?) Friendly service. Easy parking in the strip mall. Gets busy during lunch hour but the turn around is fast. Efficient seating system when it gets busy. You don't need to send someone to reserve your seats while you order. The employees are on top of it. Good casual lunch option on a chilly day. read more
We went to the San Leandro location once and although the experience wasn't horrific, the service combined with the food combined were not a good value. We were hoping that this second location would be better since they had the first location to work out the kinks. Walking in the door, the first thing that caught my eye was the hand written sign that said Please Wait to Be Seated. We stood at the counter, perused the menu board and placed our order with the order taker. We only presumed he was the order taker because he was standing behind the register with his mouth hanging open. He never greeted us, mumbled softly when he spoke, placed my receipt and credit card on the counter instead of handing them to me and never thanked me. Additionally, since he didn't offer to seat us, we sat ourselves. Water is self service and there is one dispenser with lemon slices and ice; the other has plain ice water. They are located on the counter facing the window looking out at the parking lot. Our order was delivered in two parts. First were the two bowls of ramen. Being that they were both the same size, I asked about the extra noodles and was told those were coming. They were delivered at the same time as the vegetable tempura. Seafood Ramen - 4 - Good flavor on the broth and the noodles had a good bite. Miso Ramen - 3 - Fairly good flavor but soup not hot enough. Tempura Vegetables - 3 - Reasonable sized order but not much variety of veg. We recognized Broccoli, Green Beans, maybe Zucchini? How about some Mushrooms? Pumpkin? Carrot? Onion? Bell Pepper? And handing dine*in customers Tempura Dipping Sauce in a 4oz container shows that you don't care enough to pour it into a small saucer to make it easier to dip the veg. Extra Noodles - 1 - Maybe I'm slowing down in my old age and don't eat fast enough anymore. The extra noodles came out of the cooking liquid and were drained and dumped into the bowl. I strongly suggest that they consider adding the same type of soup that the customer originally ordered. Yes, this will add to their food cost. So raise the price of extra noodles from $2.00 to $2.50. Noodles, by themselves, have a limited amount of flavor. Noodles sitting in soup absorb the flavor of the soup. Those extra noodles sat in the bowl, cooling off on top and turning into a blob on the bottom while I was eating the bowl that I ordered (look at my pictures). By the time I put the noodles into the remaining soup, the soup was lukewarm. Even after stirring and mixing, the first few bites of extra noodles were bland. I've been to restaurants that serve extra soup with extra noodles and I've been to restaurants that use larger bowls and serve the extra noodles in with the original amount. read more
We finally tried this place and .... Customer Service was poor. I was told to order first and get a table. Luckily there was one table available that seats 4 for my family to seat. There was a few people behind me that ordered after me and couldn't find a table to seat. 1 Star on that. My wife ordered agadashi tofu and we ask the waiter/busboy for an extra small plates so we can share. He gave us bowls! so we asked the girl taking the order for small plates and she told the boy to get us small plates. The waiter/busboy finally came and slam the small plates on our table, and gave us a dirty look. My wife had to restrained me from saying something really nasty to him. Negative Zero Stars. The ramen was OK. Nothing spectacular. But it did satisfy the craving. The ramen came out fast though, that's a good thing. I might try it again, hopefully we will have a better experience. read more
Note that this review is only for the vegetable ramen. If ordering the Tonkatsu ramen, I'd still give it 4 stars. Even arriving at 1:45PM on Saturday afternoon, we still had to wait 5 minutes. I was told that the vegetable ramen was truly vegetarian, meaning that it used a different broth without any meat. I could see that this was a clear-broth. Although the broth had flavor, it was weak compared to the Tonkatsu's broth. Yes, this ramen had quite a bit of tofu. However, without meat or the soft boiled egg, this vegetable ramen was the same price as most other ramen. I felt the price of vegetable ramen should have been lower. Will I be back? Yes. Will I order vegetable ramen again? Probably not unless I was on a strict vegetarian diet. read more

Tried this place out for lunch on a Saturday. We came in about 5 min after they opened and the place was already almost packed. For appetizers we ordered the fried chicken wings and the gyoza (pork potstickers). We also ordered the tonkotsu ramen, black garlic ramen and chicken ramen. The tonkotsu ramen had boiled eggs, roasted pork, fresh green onions, bamboo shoots, sprouts, fish cake and kirkurag mushrooms. The black garlic ramen has roasted pork, fried garlic, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, corn and green onions. The chicken ramen has grilled chicken, bamboo shoots, boiled egg, kirkurag mushrooms, corn, bean sprouts and green onions. Our order came really quick. We got our meal before the appetizers. I'm not a big fan of soup ramen, I only like the noodles when it come to this types of dishes. The black garlic ramen was not so bad. I did like the dish. Overall, the food was good. I was looking for a ramen place in this Dublin strip mall and it was getting late, all the restaurants were busy. There is another ramen place but I have not visited Ramen 101 so it was time for ramen and a Yelp review. I ordered the miso ramen with pork. The egg noodles were tender, the pork not salty and a fair amount (no skimping). The ramen also had an egg and fish cake. Nothing extraordinary, good flavor and not too spicy, average price and we were hungry and this fit the bill. Quick turnaround on the ramen so I was happy about that. It is difficult to give out 4 and 5 stars to ramen places. read more

Small and quaint, fast, good value describe this latest ramen addition to the Dublin restaurant scene. Ramen 101 is a quick way to get your Asian noodle and ramen fix in no time. Upon entering the small establishment, there is not a lot of free space to maneuver between the door and the cashier counter. There are about ten tables that can cater for parties of 2 to 4, and no more unless you are lucky enough to combine tables together. But good luck especially on a busy Friday or weekend evening. Their menu is simple with a combination of a number of ramen noodle options. It is nice that there are also a few rice dishes including unagi, and fried appetizer dishes such as fried squid, chicken, and oysters. On our latest visit we ordered take out with unagi rice dish, Shoyu ramen, and Tonkatsu ramen. At just under $10 for a typical ramen bowl and $6 for a side dish-sized unagi rice, the value is certainly there, however we've had better noodles elsewhere. Flavor is okay, ingredients are adequate, however, the noodles just don't measure up with their more rubbery and less tender texture. Service is satisfactory. With the busy dinner rush hour experienced on a Friday evening, the staff was quite attentive to get diners in and out. An employee was taking names down for dine in customers and placing their names on a wait list to situate them with a table by the time their food was ready. It took less than 5 minutes to get our takeout order from the time we ordered, which was quite amazing given how packed the restaurant was with diners. I am sure we will return when pressed for a quick and easy meal. Ramen 101 is like the fast food of Asian noodles. read more

A nice, warm cozy ramen place amidst all the other food places in a bustling Livermore area. We weren't very hungry, just needed something warm on a cold night. Ramen selection is pretty in line with other Ramen places. What sets them apart was that the order taker took the time to ask me how spicy I like my ramen to be. I was never asked that before. It was always assumed that we all like it spicy. Really appreciate it- mine is always no spice. Side order of chicken kara age had been a wise decision. Chicken good just right - soft and crunchy. We ended up ordering another to bring home. Will definitely return again if I am in the area. read more
