A friend & I checked this place out last weekend for dinner. The atmosphere was pretty modern and more upscale than other Asian restaurants in the Spring area. Really liked the entire menu; great appetizers of all kinds. The next page is Vietnamese, the next is Chinese and the last page is full of all kinds of delicious sounding sushi & specialty rolls. We split an order of yummy grilled chicken spring rolls that came with homemade peanut sauce. Very tasty. My friend got a combo friend rice order that she really liked. I went on a last minute recommendation of our server and ordered the garlic chicken. It was really good and flavorful with just enough spice. Service was fast and efficient. Went to LDS Houston Temple and had dinner at Rakuu. It was the BESTEST restaurant yet. Food is very delicious. Had Welldone Pho, Hunan chicken, and crunchy roll. Our picky Baby gobbled up all the Pho. Our server, Tammy, BEST EVERRRR. She was very accommodating and friendly and cute . The restaurant decor is be-you-tiful. The sushi here is Wow !!! My wife and I had 4 rolls: Super Rocket Super Dragon Ganseki Super King (not on the menu. Came in and wanted to try sushi in this place. Nicely decorated food was alright. I got home that night and started to throw up violently and all I know I ate sashimi at Rakuu. I will not be going back to this place. I think the turn around on fresh fish here is slow and trying to make a buck on old fish. So sad. read more

Stopped in on a Tuesday around 5pm - the first table of the evening. I have a 3 year old, so there's a reason we dine out early before any crowds... We walked in and I thought about turning right back around - due to the beautiful interior and plush chairs and booths (loud messy toddler, remember). But since they greeted us so promptly and kindly when we walked in, I felt obliged to stay. So so so glad that I did! My husband, son, and I had the tuna sashimi, a Philly roll, a Hanbun roll, and a crazy roll. The fish was melt-in-your-mouth fresh and the sauces complimented the rolls perfectly. All-in-all, a perfect sushi experience! Service was also fantastic. There was a slight mix-up with our order (no biggie, really), and the manager was all over it! He truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a superior experience. Our waiter was super personable too... It's not often that I leave a restaurant with an "I wanna bring everyone I know here" attitude. But, I really do wanna bring everyone I know here! Rakuu is super close to my office and I love coming by here to pick up lunch. They have a pretty decent happy hour by the looks of their happy hour menu as well. After finding this restaurant on yelp I was pretty excited to go try it out. Their sushi taste like other sushi places I've been too. It's pretty good. The super dragon roll is really good. No need for soy sauce which is good. Just the right enough sauce. The reason why I gave this place four stars instead of five is because of the entrees. We had the Singapore noodles and the stir fry udon noodles. The Singapore noodles were a little salty but that's because of the curry that's in it. The curry wasn't fully mixed in. You could see chunks of it in the noodles. The udon noodles were okay, but after a while I kind of got tired of it. The wait staff is good. Very friendly. The place is very beautiful. It looks very fancy even though the price isn't super expensive. Our bill was about $41 including a tip of $5. This included sushi and two entrees. Not bad. We will probably go back again. read more

This was our first visit and the atmosphere was totally unexpected for a strip center sushi place right off of 2920. The interior is very nicely decorated with modern finishes - you feel like you're walking into a spa. The dining room is a little more casual, but very nice. This was our first time visiting and we liked it enough to come back, but we weren't blown away. We shared steamed pork dumplings that were good, but the miso soup was just a little too concentrated for me. The flavor was delicious and there was plenty of tofu and seaweed, it was just so salty, even for miso. We shared a Crunchy Roll and a Super Dragon roll. Both were very nice, but not awesome. I did overhear another customer speaking with one of the chefs about a previous visit where he made her an off the menu beef dish that she enjoyed a lot. I think next time we visit we will try some non sushi items and see if we can add any stars to this review. Great atmosphere, good food. We will visit again. read more

This is a fresh new sushi place in Spring! The decor is absolutely beautiful! I was very surprised when I walked in and found myself at what looked to be the concierge desk at an upscale hotel. Very nice! The sushi rolls were very large and fresh. Way better than Shogun for the same price (or less!) We had the Ganseki, the Shaggy Dog, and the Skai roll. They were all delicious but I am partial to the Skai. The white peach saki was delicious and the aloe vera juice is very refreshing! Overall we had a wonderful experience at Rakuu and our server, Max was the best! I highly recommend this place :) read more

Favorite place to go when i'm in the spring area. Who ever makes the sushi rolls props to them the lafayette rolls are the best i've ever tasted and the restaurant itself is clean, servers are nice. although sometimes you do have to get their attention if you're extra picky. the dumplings, anything in their menu tastes great to me :) do recommend!! read more

I did not think I would be able to find good sushi in Texas, but this place definitely did not disappoint as far as flavor and price. The low score is because the service is so slow. There was 4 servers on the floor and it was not busy on Wednesday afternoon. There is no reason it should have taken as long as it did. This place is awesome! I decided to wait to write review until I went to this place at least five times and every visit has been spectacular. I always get sushi but I've been able to try their other items that my family gets. Every roll I've gotten has been super fresh and has just the right amount of everything. You can easily tell if sushi is fresh or not (see my Kona grill review) and I can definitely tell they are fresh. Their prices are also very reasonable for the quality you get. Very good vegan veggie pho. I like how flavorful it is, just wish there was tofu in it but it's still good nonetheless esp to non tofu lovers like my brother. Price is good as well and the restaurant is clean. I wouldn't recommend the peanut sauce that goes with their tofu spring rolls though but I will still go here just for the pho.
