We came here on a sushi craving, mostly because it's tucked into a lively, popular complex--one of those "it has to be good if it's here" assumptions. In hindsight, the completely empty dining room should've been our first clue. We were seated right away (unsurprisingly), and from there... things just felt off. There was only one server, and the energy was very much "you're on your own tonight." He took our order and then reappeared sporadically, delivering dishes one at a time in a way that turned dinner into a very disjointed experience--my mom ate, then my dad ate, and by the time the next plate arrived, the moment was gone. The bigger issue, though, was the food. Dallas has been such a pleasant surprise--creative, flavorful, and consistently great value, especially compared to California and New York. This was the first place that completely broke that streak. $24 for four pieces of sushi (yes, $6 per piece), and somehow still not good. That's steep anywhere--but for it to also be underwhelming? Hard to justify. We asked for ginger and soy sauce early on and didn't get it until the check arrived, which pretty much summed up the level of service. The mango ceviche was maybe three bites total. The rest of the meal ranged from forgettable to outright inedible. I didn't even bother taking photos--I originally wasn't planning to write a review at all because it felt so mid. But walking out, it was one of those "okay, people need a heads up" moments. There is so much better food in Dallas. This just isn't it.

We enjoyed our time at RA sushi. I ordered the sure and tied from the Valerie menu and the lobster was amazing. I recommend ordering extra sauces to enhance the flavor of the steak and rice. The soup was shockingly salty, the waiter said that is the norm. The "Sweet" cocktail was tasty. Our waiter Tyler was pleasant with a tongue in cheek sense of humor. Overall there is a nice atmosphere perfect for a chill date night or girls night out.

I would say our experience at RA sushi was pretty average. We just stopped in for a drink and appetizers. We got the pork gyoza and vegetable tempura. I liked the variety of vegetables that came with the tempura but they didn't come with their own dipping sauce and weren't anything outstanding. The pork gyoza was decent, however not hot when it came out and I wish they would have been fried a little hard not just on the bottom. The service was fine and it seemed like a pretty clean place. It's in a busy area so the perk is that it's real close to the parking garage! Cannot speak to the sushi!

I was so disappointed on my last two visits to RA Sushi. They went from a fave to horrible. Last night, the California roll tasted spoiled, the tables were filthy, the drinks were horrible and the ambiance was depressing. I won't be returning and I used to be a regular. They need to get rid of those black dusty dishes on the tables, they need to hire real bartenders and they need to follow through on the food they speak so highly of

    We didn't order this...

Been awhile since I've dropped in on RA Sushi. Last visit 2014 at the Westheimer location in Houston. The day started with me leaving Driftwood, Texas and heading north in my speedy little roadster. Destination the casino just over the Oklahoma border to pick up my boy. And, while I'm driving I'm pondering. What will he want for lunch after spending a week with his mom? Yes, they had Asian in Stillwater but he's wanting something unique. It wasn't a hard sell as he had already mentioned sushi. BTW, I knew he would. Now 18, I took this little dude on every Yelp adventure just after he was born. Born in 2007, I was Elite just after the Austin Market opened for Yelp. Many a meals he's been by my side. Starting in a car seat and sometimes downtown in a stroller. We arrive to a mostly empty dining room. Friendly staff; lots to choose from. We started with the familiar from previous visit Viva Las Vegas Roll. Well, that was gone in seconds. Might was well have some dumplings then. These things should be sold like Chicken Wings. 6, 12, 24 to an order. I'm leading the cutting edge menu thoughts that only Elite folk can provide. Only transgression being we asked for the appetizer Chili Ponzu Yellowtail only to be served the roll version instead. No big deal; we had fun and good eats on the way home.

Happy hour at RA Sushi is the move. Hands down the best spicy garlic edamame. I order it every time and it never misses. We had a great server who was attentive and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. Love the outdoor seating especially with the fire pit. It's the kind of setup that makes you want to stay longer and order one more thing. If you're going to RA, happy hour is absolutely the time to do it. Great flavors, great vibe, solid experience all around.

I'm so happy to discover that RA has moved to Addison. I thought they shut down for good. Great spot for a date night with delicious food and outstanding service!

RA Sushi is a bit overpriced chain restaurant with an upscale atmosphere. The food is decent and hits the spot when you have a sushi craving. Hot Green Tea $5 Pork Gyoza Potstickers $13 (6) Crispy Spicy Rice $20.50 - Fun appetizer, easy to share. Spring Rolls $11.50 - A bit mushy, would not order again. Spicy Salmon Roll $13.50 Viva Las Vegas Roll $21.50 - Lightly battered imitation crab and cream cheese, spicy tuna, and sliced lotus root. Bara Chirashi Poke Bowl $22.50 - Good bowl with a variety of raw fish and vegetables. Conveniently located next to AMC in the Village on the Parkway. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2025

Came in for my birthday month lunch and brought my son along with me. I hadn't been to Ra Sushi in a while, but I knew they had a great HH menu, so the timing of a late lunch worked out nicely. Ra Sushi is known for sending out $50 in birthday spending money at their restaurant and sister locations. When I came in, there was only a bartender working the bar and the bar table tops, so we opted for there. There weren't a ton of people in the bar area, but you could tell the server was swamped, as it took her quite a while to get to us. I didn't see anyone around that could really help her either, so we waited patiently while she served up her guests. As she made her way over to us, I informed her about the birthday email and she said just let me know at the end of the meal and she'd take care of it. We ordered some waters, and then selected a few menu items, some sushi, sashimi, steak fried rice, and another order of sushi. Me and my son shared everything. The food came out as it was made, which I appreciated, we were starving, and it was nice to pace out how the food was being served. As we began to wrap up, I asked for the bill. She asked for a code from the email I received so that she could deduct the $50, but the website chose to not work this day. She said they'd been having a lot of issues with it, and that she would ask her manager to handle it. After a little while of waiting, the manager chose not to honor it, and said oh well. The server profusely apologized, but it was quite irritating to say the least, that you all have been having these issues, and refuse to honor something that your company sends out. And will email out reminders if you haven't used it yet. The manager showed not a care in the world, and was more of this is a you problem and not an us problem. Left a bad taste in my mouth, on top of the fact, that the manager was no where in sight to help the server who was in the weeds for the entirety of our trip. Would be good to get out the kitchen and come assist!

I'm so sad that the Plano location closed because it was closer than Addison. We finally made it out to the Addison location and everything was great! Hunter was our server and he was amazing. The garlic edamame & calamari appetizer are always a MUST. Our favorite roll was the Chili Ponzu Yellowtail roll. Will definitely be back to this location

Love RA sushi! The service was so great, our waiter even did a magic trick for us the food was delicious and of course the ambiance was really nice. There was a roll we didn't like and the manager took it off our bill. Will def be coming back here

Food: always excellent Service: is always on point. Ambiance: the reason I frequently visit this place, state to state. I definitely recommend this place. I have been here multiple times.

RA Sushi is a really fun spot for sushi with friends. Everything I tried was fresh and flavorful, especially the rolls. The vibe is lively and casual, perfect for a relaxed night out. The staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely a solid choice if you want good sushi in a fun setting for lunch or dinner.

Would you say that it's good for a birthday and be able to fill you up?

Yes. I had the Viva Las Vegas sushi rolls and the chicken fried rice - small. Coupled with the free dessert I was full.

Is this an all you can eat sushi place or do you have to pay per plate?

Overall: 4.7/5 [dine in]…read more Our sushi chef was Jayden and he was so nice. He checked in with us throughout the meal to make sure everything tasted good, offered to cut our hand rolls in half so we could share, and even gave us a salmon belly on the house. Black Cod Nigiri ($6): Best bite of the night and it was on the seasonal menu. It was cooked and I'm not sure what they did to it, but it was absolutely phenomenal. Salmon Truffle Ponzu ($18): My second favorite dish of the night. The salmon was super fresh and the truffle ponzu elevated the whole thing. Scallop Foie Gras ($24): Beautiful presentation and good but surprisingly not as flavorful as the salmon truffle ponzu. I was expecting more umami from the foie gras. Salmon Belly Toro Nigiri ($16): Salmon belly with fatty toro topped with ikura. Delicious and melts in your mouth. Toro Wagyu Uni Nigiri ($22): Fatty tuna, A5 wagyu beef, and uni nigiri. My husband thought it was fun to eat, but said he would not order it again. Nodoguro Nigiri ($13): I looked this up, and it's apparently a rare high end deep sea fish from Japan known as the toro of white fish. Based purely on taste though, I thought it was okay and did not compare to the salmon belly. Kanpachi Cherry Blossom ($6.50): A pretty rosy pink color with a subtle cherry blossom flavor. Okay in terms of taste compared to the other fishes we had. Ami Ebi Nigiri ($10): The sweet shrimp was a bit too raw for me. Crab Uni Butter Nigiri ($12): I did not really taste the difference between the uni infused butter and regular butter so I am not sure it is worth the price, though it was still good. Snow Crab Handroll ($7): So much better than imitation crab. Recommend out of all the handrolls we tried. Eel Handroll ($7.50): Not my favorite but my husband said it was one of the best eel he has ever had. Lobster Handroll ($12): Good but nothing special. Volcano Roll ($28): This took the longest to make and was the last item we received even though we saw them start preparing it at the beginning of the meal. The presentation was beautiful and Jayden even sprayed gold on it for our photo and video. It comes with snow crab, avocado, lobster, and bay scallop topped with eel sauce and was really yummy with lots of seafood. The only downside was that the roll underneath broke apart easily which made it hard to eat. Fresh Wasabi Root ($10): We watched them grind the wasabi fresh which was cool to see. It doesn't have a kick to it though so I wouldn't order it again since I like a tiny bit of spiciness. Matcha Mojito ($15): Not for me. It had a bit too much club soda. Yuzu Saketini ($15): I liked this one more than the matcha mojito. The yuzu flavor was prominent and it kind of reminded me of a Lemon Drop.

For the nigiri I had the fatty tuna, a5 wagyu, and king salmon. They were all absolutely delicious and warped me to Japan. For dessert I had the deep fried cheesecake - I think the last time I had this I was 12 at Mr. sushi in Boston and all my memories came back. Grapes were too big though but everything else A+ The matcha tonic - I can't find it online but it was an incredible balance of fizzy, sweetness and matcha. Sushi Bar Dallas…read more Omakase at Sushi Bar Dallas is an incredible experience from the moment you step inside. The room is intentionally intimate and very dark, with an industrial ceiling where pipes climb 20+ feet above, signaling you're in for something far from a traditional sushi bar. My only gripe came at the front of the house: the initial greeting and the rule explanation were a little too demanding and elementary for someone who is tired and paying a significant amount of money for a sushi dinner. Put the rules in an email, text and on the website i'm not in 4th grade. The hostess was pleasant, but she seemed a bit robotic in doling out the rules of the evening. The line-up system, where you wait your turn and have your name called, feels odd and reminds me of the times I visited my friend in prison and the guards lined us up against the wall by our names before they took us to the room with inmates. Uncomfortable but I do follow most rules and there was a reason for the lineup that becomes clear as you settle in. Next she takes you down a dimly lit, narrow wooden staircase and you land in a basement sanctuary of omakase heaven. Our hostess knocked and the door opened to a room that felt specially curated for this meal. Each guest found their name written in gold on a sign on the sushi bar where you are suppose to sit. The chair was a very comfortable leather chair. Each gold written name plate, marking the guest order she placed us in upstairs. My seat was at the center of the sushi bar, perfectly positioned to capture video and photos of both chefs in action. From the start, we were told we'd be eating with our hands, a nod to traditional Japanese dining. The chefs staged 17 courses with the precision of neurosurgeons, walking us through every nuance from the provenance of the seafood to the section of the fish we were eating to the age of the barrel aged soy sauce. Not a detail was missed, and timing felt both deliberate and urgent in all the right moments. The father, Jose, was laid-back and effortlessly in control, while Leo, Jose's son, emerged as a true partner in the kitchen, their dynamic reminiscent of watching a masterful, living artwork take shape. The two moved back and forth with a rhythm that felt like a collaboration at the highest level, each dish placed neatly on a flat stone in front of each of us. They would then announce with pride what we were about to inhale and wait in anticipation of our response. It was clear they take tremendous pride in their craft, presenting edible masterpieces that felt almost ceremonial. Too keep everyone happy with the time in between dishes there was an endless supply of a pickled salad that I could not stop eating. As for a favorite course, it's hard to pick one. Each bite built on the last, and the whole sequence felt cohesive, an immersive set from tartare hand roll, to Shima Aji, Madai, Uni my favorite, Hotate, Masu, Hirami, Hamachi, Bincho, Kinmedai, and something I have never heard of Zuwaigani, followed by the best Waygu I have ever had in my life and ending with a passion fruit sorbet with activated charcoal crumbles and toasted crispy coconut, I don't like coconut and I ate every bite. The pairing of technique, seasonal seafood, and f#%king great seasonings left a lasting impression or as my wife says, "my husband has food memories." If you're considering a visit, go with an open mind, a willingness to lean into the pace, and a camera ready (flash off it's one of the rules) for the moments when the chefs' artistry shines. The father-and-son team of Jose Manuel Tapia and Leo deliver something rare: not just sushi, but a storytelling meal where every plate is a page in an ongoing, delicious epic food story. At the end they will make you additional food for an additional price but it's worth it. They then walked us over to a very nice bar with a great vibe and old school Dazz Band playing like I was in a time machine and it was 1982. Great place, great food, great vibe. Be ready to drop $300 plus per person tip is included but you will want to tip the sushi chefs something extra.

The nigiri really stood out: perfectly seasoned rice, melt-in-your-mouth fish, and thoughtful touches that elevated every bite. You can tell there's serious attention to detail. The pacing of the courses was just right, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the whole experience felt relaxed but refined. It's the kind of place where you just settle in and enjoy the craft. Easily one of my favorite sushi experiences in Dallas. I'll definitely be back.

There are plenty of good choices on the menu (the mushroom risotto is excellent, which shows the breadth and scope of this Japanese restaurant). Again, the wait staff here is very attentive, always checking in and refilling our water or clearing our dishes. In particular, our waitress Lynn is amazing and made us feel right at home. She knows the menu inside out and had recommendations ready for us when we inquired (sake, appetizers, rolls). On top of that, she is very friendly and kind, which added to our positive dining experience. If I were starting a restaurant, I would hire all of my wait staff to be similar to Lynn in character, charm, work ethic, and customer-centric focus. For dessert, Lynn recommended the ube cake -- it was one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Five stars overall for Nikko for the delicious food, festive ambience, and ease of parking.

I was excited to see chalkboard specials but the pricing looked like it was for 2 pieces of Nigiri but it was for 1 piece and the two choices we made were not very good (seaperch and ankimo). The tempura tipped us off immediately (greasy and overly fried, they looked like onion rings from a hamburger joint), and I'm afraid the sushi was that good, especially considering the price. Himachi sashimi was good and cold. Nigiri was not cold and nothing out of the ordinary. Service was attentive but average (luckily our server forgot to order a roll that my wife wanted).

I really couldn't tell you all the delicious courses brought out, but all were chef selections and change with the seasons. I lose track of how many courses were included, but at least 7! The dessert was matcha tiramisu and crème brûlée! That I do remember. The tuna items were my favorite though. The only downside which is not the restaurant's fault is they have more seating outside than inside and with the heat, it is just tough this time of year in August! I will definitely be back though. The service was great and the staff are super attentive if you need more water, another drink and check if you finished your current course before bringing out the next.

I didn't have a reservation & I was hoping I can slide into a seat at the sushi bar. When I arrived I was greeted by Vivian, she was so sweet & welcoming. I instantly knew by her hospitality that if she wasn't able to seat me, I would come back. She was able to get me on a short wait until a seat opened at the sushi bar. I was more than happy to wait, I was offered a beverage while I waited but opted for just water tonight. The manager Alexander came back to see if I needed anything while I waited for my seat. I was seated at the sushi bar & greeted by my server. Her name was Sayaka. She has such a warm smile & energy about her. She explained the menu since it was my first time. Then I proceeded to order, I ordered a handful of nigiri's. My sushi chef was Joseph! He was so friendly, knowledgeable and made other great suggestions aside from what I ordered. Thank you chef Joseph for using his expertise to absolutely WOW ME @ the quality of the fish. The simplicity of what quality of fish & experience will make you feel. From beginning to end, my dining experience was exceptional. I am quite particular when it comes to sushi, but this exceeded my expectations. I'll be back again to visit Namo!
