There's nothing "queen" or luxurious about this place. Not the vibe I was expecting at all. With "queen" in the name I was expecting something bright and sparkly and it's just grey, sterile yet unrefined. They were cranking people out like a sweat shop (granted it was Saturday afternoon) not an inviting experience, and I felt rushed to pick out my color. Maybe I'm used to boujee places, but they didn't even offer a beverage of any kind. While fast and affordable and decent work, I didn't feel like a Queen coming or going. I was specific about what shape I wanted on both my nails and toes and both were incorrect and had to be fixed. Also not sure why my pedicure even had a tub to soak my feet because they only sat in there for about 30 seconds. I personally look forward to my feet soaking in the warm bubbles and I didn't get the pleasure of enjoying that. It also doesn't feel like my feet were massaged at all and I got the Deluxe. Very run of the mill all around. The staff is very friendly, but I won't be back unless I need something convenient with my expectations set lower. I honestly couldn't wait to leave. read more

My nails are beautiful, however the technician cut me twice and I was bleeding and it seemed like she never noticed. It also seemed like they were rushed and my nail stickers were not the same or even. I just moved here and was looking for a consistent nail salon, but I'm not sure this is the one for me. Nail salons can be a crapshoot - it's so hard to find one that has it all! This one has pretty much everything I want - easy online appointment scheduling and good quality nail technicians (some better than others you'll get to know the good ones). One bad note - you can make an appointment but once you get there, there seems to be a lot of scheduling confusion. A few times I've been left waiting a really long time when I booked both a pedicure and manicure at the same time so I try to not do both any more. It's a busy salon so I get it though. Shoutout to one of the good ones, Lee, who did beautiful French SNS nails for me last time! I have wide nail beds and when I get a full set most folks never pick the right size and they snap off way too easily but she knew how to size right and her French tip was very even and gorgeous! read more

If you want to pay 50$ to be disrespected, repeatedly, then you should come here! I went with my girlfriend to get a gel manicure with the thumb having a flame design (extremely basic and had a photo reference). River was the most impatient, rushed, rude nail tech I have ever experienced. It felt like just because we just got a regular gel manicure that she didn't care about our experience or how the nails turned out. River stood up at least 10x during the initial part of the manicure leaving for over 5 minutes at a time. Then she dipped the polish brush into the paint ONE time before painting all 10 nails in 30 seconds. I told her very politely that it felt rushed, the polish didn't cover my girlfriends entire nail, and the design wasn't exactly what we wanted (Lindsey did a great flame it just didn't connect at the bottom. Something that should have been an easy fix). River said it would have been easier to fix it before putting it in the light to dry/set insinuating that her sloppy rushed job was our fault. But no worries- I was still the one apologizing to her. She filed off the design and then tried re doing it herself. I think she knew she didn't have the capability to do the design in the first place, but got extremely hostile when her design looked like shit and I politely asked if Lindsey could re do it again. River said "oh, let me just ask her to stop her current client to come back over here and re do it. Is that what you want?" Genuinely shocked at what she just said & wanting to leave immediately, I said "no worries, we don't need the design." River followed up with more hostility saying "no let me have her stop her client since that's what you want." River, you knew you couldn't do the design to begin with. No need to be disrespectful because your capabilities don't include a basic nail art design. Lindsey came back and River left and never came back to finish the top coat. Thank you Lindsey for your help and professionalism. River- I hope you feel good about yourself knowing you charged someone a $50 service for a shitty job, and having two women leave your establishment feeling extremely disappointed. I was SO excited to bring my girlfriend here. With the amount of friends we have recommending Queen Spa and the amazing reviews, and even a few good experiences of my own in the past, I thought it was going to be a great experience. Best nail salon in South Austin and maybe even all of Austin. Love the layout of the salon- there's a waiting area where you can take your time selecting the color you want without feeling rushed. The mani and pedi areas are separated by a wall and makes the whole atmosphere feel like a boutique experience. There's a QR code on each table to order drinks from Aviary Wine & Kitchen next door- so cool that they offer this option instead of an inexpensive house wine like other salons. So I just got home from coming here for a pedicure. 1st time here and I'm quite disappointed after I took a look at it home. I got a chance to lay down and lift up my feet to examine it better... I paid $46 total for a non thorough job. I still have rough calluses everywhere and dry skin peeling up from both my feet, even the french tip is not sharp and kinda blotchy. I will post pictures of how my feet looked AFTER the pedi job. The guy was very nice and sweet but the whole time he used a cheese grater but never used a buffer or filer after the grater so maybe that's why my feet still had tons of calluses. Other nail spas I been to use the grater but always used a file after to smooth it out. I'm not sure why this place was like this. I am awfully disappointed and felt like I spent almost $50 on poor work of a pedicure. I left unsatisfied and wont be coming back. I would NOT RECOMMEND this place when it comes to pedicures. I'm suprised they have alot of good reviews when it's not up to par whatsoever. UPDATE : So I changed my 1 star review to 3 star today because the owner reached out to me the day of service and we spoke on the phone about my review. She was very apologetic and offered to refund what I had paid for that day for my pedicure. She sounded like she felt really bad about the service and wanted to fix it asap. She even asked me to give them another chance in the future and I do appreciate her for doing what she did. I normally don't update a review adding extra stars to once I post a review but I think she was genuine about her apology of the situation and I felt she was very professional as well. How she handled the aftermath of everything I appreciate. More than I can say for many other businesses out there. Thanks for trying to rectify everything. I just hope in the future this doesn't happen to other clients. Maybe they can retrain their employees on how to give a proper pedicure so it doesn't happen again. read more

Best salon in South Austin, hands down!! I've seen multiple technicians there and they all do a fantastic job. I rarely have to wait when I make appointments and they have such a wide selection of nail design options. I did my first ever (yes, ever) set of tips with Lee and showed her a picture on Instagram of what I wanted and she absolutely slayed it!! My nails perfectly match the picture and are GORGEOUS! Let me start by saying I didn't know anyone personally at this spa before coming and was immediately met with a pleasant welcome from a noticeably busy but calm woman. I later came to know her as River and oh my god the visit is just taken up a notch when she's there!! Secondly I wanted to mention that back in February I broke my hips, shattered my left hip and fractured my right. Even chipped a piece of my spine off. But when I woke up in that hospital bed in incredible pain and shock and mental meltdown thinking of the bill(I mean a room to myself in the trauma ward?$$$) but I was both soothed periodically and brought immense joy by looking down and only ONE of my nails of my incredible neon green(I believe it's the buss down glow SNS dip) had chipped. Although my pedicure went really well, there were a few reasons I'm giving three stars. One, the technician I think her name was Lucy, was not nice whatsoever. Two, I showed the receptionist, manager, and technician all my inspiration for my manicure and specifically said how I wanted it to be a bit translucent and my nails are not even the same color. I absolutely loved Queen Spa and will definitely be coming back! I was in search of a new place to get my nails done and I stumbled upon Queen Spa and decided to give them a try. I hadn't made an appointment, but thankfully they take walk-ins. When I got there, I showed the person at the front desk a picture of what I wanted, asking if it could be done, which she said it could. I was told that it would be about 20 minutes for a wait, which I was fine with. However, a couple of minutes later I was being called back. My nails still feel really gummy and she left a ton of scrub on my hands and spilled scrub on me and was annoyed that I asked for a towel to wipe it off. I asked for alpine snow and OPI gel color which they used on my toes and I saw her using some crusty generic bottle on my hands and she lied to me and said that it was OPI. TLDR: Came here for my bday nails because i've heard they do designs really well... took 3 hours for SUPER LUMPY messy looking nails that were not AT ALL like what I had originally wanted & they wanted to charge me $95... Customer service was non existent! I made an appointment for my friend and I for 5:30pm on 10/17 and I was sat promptly when i got there, but not seen by a tech for almost 30 mins... While my friend's nails were well on their way, I finally was seen by a tech (i dont remember his name) and I showed him the design that the owner had seen originally and said was possible. He looked scared honestly but started. Not only was the shape awful (wanted almond and got round) but he put a stark white as the base color when it was supposed to be a nude. He told me that he couldn't do a nude (???) and at this point it was over an hour & a 1/2 into my nails so I was just like whatever. He started on the actual designs and on the first design, he tried 2x and both times looked awful. The color was a hot pink when it was supposed to be light pink and it looked nothing like the picture. I asked if we needed to do a different design because this would not work and he just got up and left the station. After about 30 mins, I finally got another tech (at this point my friend's nails were completely done (she got a very intricate design and it looked SO GOOD!) and they had been closed for 30 mins. We picked a different design and I wanted to do a different base color (bc at this point the white was all messed up from the multiple failed attempts at the design) so instead of filing my current color down, she just put three coats over my 3 white coats. At this point I just wanted to go home so I just let her. She rushed through the new design and put some ugly mismatch gems on and sent me on my way. I went up to the desk to pay and they tried to charge me $95 for SUPER CHUNKY short "almond" nails with a couple stars on them after I had the experience that I did. I normally don't speak up at nail salons but I was so fed up and told him there was no way I was paying $95 for them. He just gave me a blank stare and then tried to argue with me. After a little while he said fine and then told me $80 which I still said no way to. I told him the max I would pay is $65 since that is the advertised starting price for what I got. I was so frustrated and had the ugliest nails for my birthday. They were extremely rude the entire time & the fact that my friend had such a wildly different experience legit right next to me made it even worse. Will never ever come back here..... read more
