I went to this shop to get a full set and they looked awful!! I called back to try to get them fixed and they wanted to charge me again for everything all though Phuong was the one who filed the nails down too short. She never had me to wash my hands one time the entire service. Unsanitary and unprofessional. When I went back to get them fixed Andy wouldn't even look at my nails he just wanted to be paid again for new service. I never seen anything like this before. A good business would always make sure the customer is satisfied instead of being rude. Bad Service and unsanitary!!!!!! Bad Business read more

Nails On 5th - I spent $270 plus 20 tip and Andy didn't even look at my nails to see what my complaint was about. Bad Bad business - Nail Salons Near Me - Austin, Texas

my toes came out great the tech was good, no complaints there and he did my paint job as well. but my nails!!! there should be no reason why my gel x set looks like this after 2 days. It looks like I need a fill already. the other guy that did my nails didn't do good and the lady that did my paint job didn't do well either. Only 1 person out of 6 knows how to do designs, and the designs were not what I asked for. Over priced for 5/10 service. Also, they try to get you to do a review during the service which isn't ideal. Wait, till the service is over. I would not come here again. read more

Nails On 5th - They look like this after 2 days. - Nail Salons Near Me - Austin, Texas

Pretty place, but that's about it. I've never had ALL my nails chip from an SNS manicure (starting after 2 days) - my nails usually look great for 2-3 weeks! When I went back to have the 1st 4 nails fixed, they couldn't have been less helpful. The tech was confused, sloppy, and had to drill my polish off TWICE. Then I basically had to beg them to put an extra top coat on to strengthen them. I was there an hour and guess what: 3 more nails have already chipped again. Amateur hour. For $60 plus tip? Go anywhere else. read more

I was walking by this place and I had a little time to kill so I decided to pop in to get a manicure and a pedicure. I thought the place was very clean. They took really great care of me and give me a great hand and foot massage after the manicure and the pedicure was done. I think the prices are insane. I was in and out pretty quickly and altogether after the tip I think I paid 80 bucks which I think is outrageous for dude who is not getting any fancy nail polish read more

Nails On 5th - Outside. - Nail Salons Near Me - Austin, Texas

My technician was unfriendly, rushed, and had poor attention to detail. She asked me for a drink preference then never brought it. She messed up a simple polish change and within two hours it chipped. The shapes were not even consistent and edges were rough. Do not go. It was my first time and I'm not returning. read more

Their website lists services they dont provide. Then I paid $60 for a gel manicure. She did one coat of the gel polish and one coat of topcoat. The gel is chipping off after 4 days and you can see through the polish. $15 extra for cats eye with one coat is outrageous. I would really like my money back. read more

I got a pedicure & it came out amazing but my acrylic nails did not come out looking right. I asked for a French tip & showed him the picture of my inspo & it seemed very rushed & came out looking rushed. All together it was 130 ish it was not worth it I would never go back again. read more

Katherine was amazing!!!! I recently visited nails on 5th and I couldn't be happier with my experience! From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and attentive. The salon was clean, well-organized, and had a relaxing ambiance. What I loved most was how gentle they were during the process--no rough filing or overuse of tools, which I've experienced at other places. It's been over a week, and my nails still look flawless with zero chipping. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for quality service and long-lasting results. I'll definitely be coming back for my next apt. read more

**One Star - DO NOT GO TO NAILS ON 5TH!** I never leave reviews, but after what I experienced at Nails on 5th, I feel compelled to warn others. I went in for a basic manicure and left with an infected finger, a painful condition, and a terrible experience trying to get any sort of resolution. First off, the technician *cut my cuticles* *way* too aggressively, and not only did they cut my skin, but they also filed my nail down *to the skin*. After that, they tried to cover it up with a thick layer of gel polish, which I now know only made things worse. To make matters worse, they used a *dirty* cuticle cutter, which I later realized was the source of the bacteria that caused the infection. The next morning, I woke up with my finger *so swollen* and sore, and it only got worse from there. I ended up having to go to the doctor, and was diagnosed with **paronychia**, a painful infection caused by bacteria entering through cuts around the nail. I had to go back to the doctor a SECOND time to have the infection drained because it got so bad. I immediately contacted the salon and spoke to Tom, who was absolutely no help. He kept saying "Brian is out," and after a long wait, Brian finally called me back. Let me just say--*he was incredibly rude*. I explained what my doctor had said, and he hung up on me in the middle of the conversation. No apology, no empathy, nothing. This is absolutely unacceptable. After looking through all the other negative reviews, it's clear that this isn't an isolated incident--others have had similar problems with infections and poor hygiene practices. I will be posting daily or weekly reviews if I have to, because a place that causes harm to customers like this does NOT deserve to be in business. **Please save yourself the trouble and avoid this place at all costs.** If you want a safe and professional manicure, go literally anywhere else. read more

they do not have quality staff here. walked out before she could start the gel. i was sweating from how anxious and uncomfortable i was watching this woman try to file and shape my nails. it was painful. she injured a cuticle. she could not shape the nails at all and was filing so aggressively and haphazardly i thought she would break my nail. i'm not sure how this woman is licensed to do nails. from the other reviews clearly they do have a few good people but don't just walk in and expect good quality service. terrible experience. i'll never go back. read more

I had a great experience here! I was pleasantly surprised given some of the reviews- i would give this place a try! The location is convenient and they do have parking! Walking in the salon is new and clean. The staff was really friendly and I appreciated the conversation - i didnt catch his name but one of the manicurists was really funny. They do have beverages complimentary with your service, and they were efficient. I get annoyed sometimes when salons take hours to do a mani/pedi service- but this place was good. You weren't rushed, they did good work, but also were cognizant of your time. My nails also turned out nice! I keep short nails but they filed straight like I asked and did a great job painting. read more

Cat may be one of the most talented and friendly nail techs I've ever met! I was in town and gambled on this business to do my nails and I am not at all disappointed! Worth the price! Quickly done! Genuinely friendly! Too bad I live so far away...maybe I will fly out regularly, it was so worth it! Thanks Cat read more

This place did my nails exactly how I wanted. John was amazing. I will definitely be back here in the future :)

The man who did my nails did not ask me a single time what I wanted. When I called I asked for an acrylic full set with extensions and was told the price would be 55. They did a completely different service and charged me 65 . I wanted a very cool burr but of course since I was not asked, my nails are pink.... read more

Very unsanitary, and no sanitized tools for pedicure. Everything was just in the cart, no sight of even alcohol to clean. I am worried I will get an infection. Lady was very nice but she could not see what she was doing. Male employee said that she "doesn't understand" that does not excuse her from cutting my nails to the skin. Will not be returning! Very dissatisfied! read more

Who knew that a deluxe manicure came with a neck and upper back massage?! I sure didn't and it was a pleasant surprise. I had a foot injury so I skipped the pedicure my friends were getting and opted for a mani. I picked my gel nail color and was seated quickly. Tina was my nail tech. She was so nice and did a really great job! My gel nails lasted a couple weeks and if I'm ever in that area again, I'll definitely go back to her. read more

Took my 11 year old daughter here to get some special gel nails. She had found photos online of the type of nails she wanted. We showed the photos to the nice staff. They came up with plan and made it happen. Everyone was very nice. The man was super sweet to my daughter and took his time. He even let her change her mind on a couple of nails and reworked them. Very talented staff. Nails turned out great. Check out pics. Starfish, seashell, all custom worked. read more

I've tried this place a few times and each time it's just ok but it's in a convenient location but this time it was bad. If I could give them a 0 I would. The worst manicure of life. As an East coast girl I expect good service wherever I go. Their nail polishes are old and stale. They have to add thinner for them to actually paint. I asked the bald headed owner if he had new ones he said "no, whatever is there". I sat down with this old man he said his name was John I know he's lying claims he lived in New york in Long Island. He messed up my cuticles after complimenting them. Butchered my cuticles literally: Then a lady came over very nice and attempted to fix them but couldn't. Never again would I come to this basic a$$ nail salon with their cheap old polishes and a rude nasty bald headed owner. read more

In town for business and needed a quick pedicure and found this place on yelp with a good location and availability. Just had a great experience all the way around. I came here once before and had a good experience. This time though I was treated very rudely. The man doing my nails worked VERY quickly and very aggressive - hurting my hands multiple times. He also didn't use a UV topcoat on a dip manicure which I thought was weird but he kept telling me it was better but I left with sticky nails??? My nails look bad and I have little cuts on my hands and under my fingernails - wouldn't recommend. read more

I've been here twice, and Brian (he's also the manager) has done incredibly sloppy work. Normally that wouldn't elicit a review- but, he literally YELLED at me when I (politely) asked him to adjust my designs to make them straight lines. Never coming back- and ladies, if you get Brian - avoid asking him for any sort of design. He doesn't really know what he's doing and has a temper problem. read more

Nails on 5th pampered me for 3 hours! They were able to fit me in easily after I had much trouble finding an appointment when calling other local nail salons. I opted for a 5th Pedicure which included all the standard pedi services plus paraffin treatment, mask and hot rock massage. The gentleman who helped me was very kind and thorough. I was offered a drink and chose to enjoy some white wine throughout my service, then a refreshing cold water. After my pedicure I received a standard manicure with gel in the color I wanted. The same gentleman who provided my pedicure did my manicure with great attention detail, nice shaping and made sure the light colored polish looked solid. Great massage included for both services too! I left extremely satisfied read more

Nails On 5th - Nail Salons Near Me - Austin, Texas

I went to Nails on 5th for a dip manicure on a Sunday afternoon. The salon was busy and it was clear my manicurist was trying to rush through my manicure. He was very rough, made my cuticles bleed and did not get the dip all of the way up to my cuticles (similar to other 1 star reviews). When I told him this, he proceeded to cut the nails off but refused to remove the polish. He then went on to say "you people always want something for free" when in actuality I wanted the service I was paying for (and my nails to look good on vacation). I said this to him and he told me to shut up. When I asked him who he was talking to he said he was talking to me. After I paid for my pedicure he kicked me out of the salon, leaving my hands mangled and forcing me to go to another nail salon later that day. His commentary throughout about how "I wanted something for free" and "he knew I was going to be trouble when he looked at me" was rooted in anti-blackness and racism and when I asked to speak to a manager about the issue while in tears he told me he was the manager. I have never been treated with such indignity in my life and if you choose to support this nail salon you choose to support a racist business (and get a bad manicure to boot). read more

So, the place is nice, staff is nice, but holy cow...my nails SUCK. I got dip powder/SNS. First, I knew they were going to suck cause I legit had to tell the nail tech to buff them out before putting the top coat on cause they were bumpy as hell. He did a horrible job, to say the very least. They have almost all broken off, ragged and bumpy as hell, and just over all AWFUL. I'm pissed. Complete waste of money read more

Traveling through Austin- I quickly googled a location near the hotels and called them, friendly and welcoming I walked over and was greeted happily!
