Really sad to have to write this because I've been coming here for 6 months without issue, but today I had a gal do my gel mani and it's the worst I have ever had. If you elect to go here, go to any of the men available, they take special attention to details. I told her that I was not happy with the manicure, because she simply did not paint down to the cuticle. Just like another person wrote in their review, she left me with finished nails that looked four days or five days grown out. She attempted to fix this by filing off the gel of only one layer, and putting on a fourth coat. Even after the adjustment it still looked silly. I was tempted to ask her just to take it off, but I have a wedding I must attend on Saturday and this is the only time I set aside to do my nails. However when time came to check out there was no resolution offered. I paid full price for a manicure that looks four days grown out. Based on this interaction and lack of goodwill towards resolution, I cannot recommend this place any longer. I have been putting off leaving this review for quite some time and I'm sad I have to but I will no longer be a customer here. I used to love this salon because it's clean, I can always get in right when they open, and it's convenient for me. As we all have anxiety speaking up about certain nail techs, I've thought about sharing that I do not want to go to this specific lady but never have. And yet every single time, I'm let down by her. There have been multiple occasions in which I have had to correct her at the end to fix things that are clearly unacceptable. Hardened powder still on my skin, uneven filing, very chunky nails, the list goes on. She consistently cuts me with the drill and seems to have an attitude every time I speak up about quite literally anything. She leaves my dip SO incredibly thick and the top layer peels within a week. Yesterday she did my toes and I thought to myself, you can't really screw up a gel pedicure... can you? She legitimately BURNED my leg with a hot stone and today I winced in the shower because whatever she tried to go with my ingrown toenails (of which I get often because I'm a runner and have never had this experience before) left a gaping hole that is now bleeding and burning. I'm so disappointed that whenever I walk in, I'm pawned off to her. From what I can read in reviews, she has been a consistently problematic nail tech to others and yet the owner (very nice lady) always gives her the business first. Every man I've ever had do my services has been great but it's not worth the gamble of getting her anymore or awkwardness of having to tell the owner I don't want this woman specifically. She is the middle aged woman who wears glasses. I really hope you, @ the owner, take these reviews to heart and have a genuine conversation with her that she needs to pay far more attention to detail with her work and have a better attitude. And if she's not happy with what she does, do not subject the paying customers to that. read more

So disappointed that I'm having to write this kind of review, but after coming to this nail salon for the past 2 years, I will no longer be a client here. I had the worst experience I've ever had today. I came in for a gel manicure and chose my color. I opted for OPI "sandman" or something similar to that name. The color on the example nail and what was put on my nail were not the same. I believe the color was old. I politely told my nail tech I didn't like the color after applying 3 coats so she began to remove the polish. She had the worst attitude the entire time. She was pulling on my fingers in anger and throwing my hands at me while soaking my nails in acetone and cotton balls. She then disappeared into the bathroom for 15 mins and pulled her phone out of the back of inside her pants (her phone was between her skin and the seem of her pants above her butt) when coming back to finish my nails. Not to mention she sneezed on the client sitting behind her, didn't even cover her mouth. I didn't get her nam but she has lip filler, falsies (eyelashes) and wears glasses. I chose a new color that I knew would look good as I've previously chosen this color before. Unfortunately, the manicure does not look good. I can see my nail bed through the 2 coats applied. I don't know if this salon is under new management but I used to see Chi and now that she is no longer there, I tried other nail techs and I'm disappointed every time. I came in with what I wanted and my nail tech understood what I wanted. She had agreed to my request for design and changed it last minute. I asked her multiple times to give me the color and design I wanted and when she had finished I asked if she was going to give me the color I had requested.. her response was, "the red will make you look old, I give you this color. The ambience and overall service was impeccable. I had a full set with extensions and regular pedi and was finished in an hour. I came in on a Saturday at 5pm and was just about the only guest there. Immediately, they asked if I wanted tea, water, juice, and had me seated. I like that it's in a less busy part of town. Since they're new, they had an ongoing 20% off promotion and my total came out to only $72 before tip! And that's for both services. They also gave me a card for 10% off my next visit. Traumatizing. Go elsewhere. I arrived at B&Y today and had the worst nail service I have ever had. I asked for a dipping gel powder manicure. Instead of gently removing the dipping powder, the technician filed two of my nails down so thin that I could feel the heat of the filing machine through my nail. I asked him file the surface lightly and to soak the dipping gel powder off instead of filing it all the way down. Once he removed everything, he went onto aggressively shape my nails with the nail file and it felt like I was getting paper cuts each time he abrasively slid on the sides of my nails. I winced and pulled away several times and asked him to not be so rough with my hands. Then came the dipping powder stage and things really started to get bad. I have been getting dipping powder nails for the last two years and never had I experienced someone being so careless. The technician hastily and sloppily brushed the adhesive onto my nails and onto my skin. I told him that the powder and adhesive were on my skin but he told me that he will clean all of it up afterwards. He did not. After I showed him how the hardened dipping powder was stuck on my skin and over my cuticles, he went onto file aggressively directly on the skin around my nails, under my nails, and more of the nail itself. It hurt so much that I pulled my hands away and asked him to stop. I told him that my nails were done very poorly and that he had filed my nails down too short and that the skin felt raw and painful. He started to get defensive and yell at me saying, "It's not bleeding, it's fine. Your nails look fine!" I told him that I felt very uncomfortable speaking with him if he couldn't listen to my feedback and that I would like to speak with someone else. He continued to reason with me and disregard what I was telling him. He finally brought another fellow technician over and to my shock, she also exclaimed "You are not bleeding! Your nails are fine." He continued to stand over me, yelling and laughing at me while also talking about me incredulously to his co-workers. I asked him to step away because it made me uncomfortable. Another technician came over and told the guy to back off and said she understood why I'm upset and suggested that I come with her to her table station, so that she could finish my nails. I let the woman know that I felt very uncomfortable and that I wouldn't be paying for the service. I told her that I could not stay in the salon anymore with the man continuing to heckle at me which he was still doing. This entire experience was so traumatizing. I left the salon shaking from the verbal abuse, with raw fingertips and an unfinished dipping powder manicure (which I now will need to go elsewhere to have removed). A different worker from the salon followed me out to apologize for the experience and that he would speak to the male technician about how he treated me. I told him that I accepted his apology but that this is absolutely unacceptable behavior and that I will never be coming back to this salon again. read more

After a couple of attempts at the design I had to ask her to take it off. It just wasn't like the picture at all. Then we tried for a basic V shaped French. Unfortunately I had to ask her to remove that as well. I left disappointed at around 6:45. Paid full price for services despite obviously not leaving satisfied with the service.
