I came here because my other nail place was booked and this location had an opening on a Friday afternoon. It is a small super cute shop. Thanks to 'rona it was just myself and the nail tech. I will say they have had the best sanitation practices I've seen so far. There is a larger nail polish selection. Currently can't handle the colors but the tech can help you select and pick the best ones for you. The chairs are not your traditional massage chairs like other nail places. I missed that part of the experience. They are similar to chairs you would find in a living room. They also use big giant pedicure bowls. My pedicure was one of the best ones in regards to shaping, filing and painting. She was very meticulous to ensure my nails look amazing. I went to this place in March during spring break. I'm the assistant principal of a middle school so I was exhausted and wanted to treat myself to something I don't normally do. My specialist was Kathie. It may have been the COVID impact, but I just didn't feel welcomed. It didn't feel like she wanted me there. I got a mani pedi and I just regretted it the whole time. She booked her next appointment too close to mine so she rushed at the end and then told me I could go. I said, "how long should I wait for my nails to dry?". She said I could leave "right now". She'd just put a very dark color on my nails. I should have waited, but I also felt pressure to get out of the way of her next client (who had to wait outside...damn COVID). I, of course, ruined my manicure while putting on my seat belt. I'm surprised I even made it that far. I had to use nail polish remover to remove the polish when I got home. Waste of time and money. I wouldn't go back. I had a much better experience at Viva Day Spa. read more

About 5 years ago, I was locked out of my original Yelp account, which had over 500 reviews. I haven't had the heart to start a new one after getting hacked, even after moving to Austin and discovering tons of great businesses run by awesome people. It was so discouraging to imagine starting new. Even during Covid, when we tried new take-out places, and I knew businesses could use the hype. It felt too overwhelming to start a new account. This is the place that changed my mind. This is the place that was so amazing I had to make a Yelp account to leave a review... just in case telling everyone I knew wasn't enough. I received simply the best manicure I've ever had in my life. That's 15 years of getting manicures, in 3 continents, 20 or so countries, and even on-set in Los Angeles. It's so perfect I'm in awe. I won't say that the locale is super fancy. There's no bling-y add ons like free alcoholic beverages or gaudy chandeliers overhead. I didn't get anything special, like a massage or paraffin treatment or special essential oils. What I had was a manicurist who did the most precise, perfect manicure with such attention to detail and precision that it hasn't chipped in 3 weeks. THREE WEEKS! THROUGH SWIM LESSONS AND GARDENING! She took her time (in a good way, it was no longer than any other manicure! But she wasn't distracted or talking to a bustling crowd of passing manicurists or shouting over the salon like some other places I've been to). She listened to what I wanted, then matched the shade I wanted perfectly by mixing several different pinks, showing me each one til we got it right. She had great knowledge of undertones and how to work with colors. She spent time getting my cuticles to the best shape they've ever looked in their life. I never felt the odd scratch of a nail file. Each nail is flawlessly shaped and has an even layer of perfect polish on it. She even filled in a natural divet I have in my nails so it looks smooth and perfect. She knew her stuff. People don't understand that sometimes a simple nude manicure is one of the hardest to perform, since you can't cover any faults with glitter or gems or special designs. This was incredibly perfect. So perfect that my commercial photographer friend grabbed my hand when I told her about my experience and was wowed to proclaim it camera ready. Meaning, if she was shooting product that very second, she could have used my hands and sold the ad as professional. I won't go anywhere else for nails in Austin ever again. Random notes: The shop is small (three chairs) and quiet... peaceful, actually, which I loved. The manicurist patiently let me listen to a book on tape I was struggling to finish before a deadline and didn't seem annoyed. Everything was extremely sanitary and their Covid precautions were great (they will email you instructions when you schedule your appointment, read through them!). I feel like a pampered queen! The environment is so lovely. Clean, well appointed, cozy and very comfortable. The technicians are super. I love being in a comfy wingback chair with a lovely warm milk bath foot soak. They have great products, lots of color choices, glitter, nail art and more. They listen to your needs, concerns, and wants, and they deliver. I love being able to book online. I like being in control of my schedule and it's great to see when they are available. No wasted time dropping in and being either squeezed in or turned away. Nailed It is very responsive to email and texts. Very convenient! They don't stop to answer the phone, so you are their focus. In the salon it was just me and Kathie, the specialist, and I felt very comfortable with the level of risk given the health practices. I own so much nail polish that it's an absolute farce that I've been here as often as I have this year, but Nailed It (and Carrie) is fabulous. The space itself is fun, welcoming, and sunlit. Scheduling is so easy to do online, which I always appreciate. I have only ever gotten pedicures, but I've now had 5 or more with some degree of regularity and I'll keep coming back. She always recalls what we discussed last time (even months later) and is happy to swap dog or yoga stories. The seats are super comfy, with blankets if you're feeling cozy. I even talked my husband into joining me for his first pedicure, because a pedicure is about so much more than polish. Jenny and Carrie both do a great job of just taking care of you and your feet, and they set him at ease. He's recently told me it might be time to go back, so they've converted him. I have the kind of job that occasionally requires me to spend many hours on my feet, hiking and standing. I've been trying to see Jenny for a few months now but something always came up. I finally went today for a classic manicure and it is honestly the best manicure I've ever had. My nails are shaped exactly how I like them and I didn't even have to tell her how. She paints all the way to the cuticle (I don't know why some manicurists don't do that!!) and does a nice thin 2 coats of color. I found Jenny on Yelp and after reading her amazing reviews, I booked an appt for a gel mani/pedi. First off, Jenny is an awesome person - she is super friendly and makes you feel right at home...for real, I felt like I was talking with my BFF for years although I had only known her a matter of minutes. Secondly, she is an absolute nail wizard! My gel mani/pedi lasted for over 3 weeks!! If I could afford it, I would be there on a continual basis.
