If I could give 0 stars I would Just left Tarrytown Nails - never will be returning and I would not recommend for anyone else to supports this business either I came into get my nails done like I do every 3 weeks. During the apportionment I noticed my nails looks crooked. I explained this to the lady multiple times and she continued to try to fix them by filing my nail which was clearly not the issue. The issue is she put the tip on sideways. Towards the end I started to get frustrated and she called over two more Individuals that worked there. They then proceeded to gaslight me. Tell me they were straight and that my fingers were crooked LOL. I have had my nails done MULTIPLE times and never had this issue until today. What a business - getting annoyed at a paying customer. Gaslighting. Being rude to me. And looking my in the eyes and telling me that my nails are straight when anyone with eyes could tell they are not. To top it off - they charged me the full amount. Attaching pictures - this was at the end after she tried to fix them I've never felt more disrespected in a nail saloon than I did here. My first trip here I got a beautiful shellac mani with plaid pattern that held up for so long. 5/5 stars. My second trip, I got a matte shellac with oval nails - I don't know if the matte top coat affects this, but the polish thickness looked a little uneven, so it didn't look as good as the first one. 70 dollars (82.6 with tip, 10% student discount). Last week, I got my nails done with high hope and a recommendation from two friends. As I attend a local university, I knew that nails salons come with deals to discount prices for students. However, I was mislead. The signs and prices were not transparent. All I got done (shown in the two images below) were GELX manicure with french tip. A week out of getting the nails done, I have lost five of the ten nails already. Keep in mind, I am not using my hands a lot like doing work on the computer or activities like sports. I am just extremely disappointed in how the final product did not held up. I usually go to another nail salon in Austin, Adore, however, the establishment burned down. Their prices are WAY more reasonable for manicures, think around the 40-50 range (& student discount), and the nails ALL stay on for at least three weeks to when you need a refill. I will not be returning, and I hope the salon makes sure to use a better formula glue. read more

After lots of searching without success for places that did men's manicures, I found someone who mentioned success with Tarrytown Nails & Spa. I was very impressed that when I scheduled online Monday night, I got an email reply confirming my appointment late that evening after business hours. When I showed up on Tuesday after work, they confirmed my appointment and also were able to add a men's pedicure while I was there. The great news is that my fingernails and toenails look and feel better. I was in and out in just over 30 minutes. The language barrier is there, but the experience was excellent. It's no surprise to me that this company cannot get close to 4 stars. Last time I came into this salon I got a really bad toe infection after getting a gel pedicure. I couldn't walk for about two weeks without being in pain. It's been awhile, so I decided to give it another chance and instead get a manicure. My nail lady was SO extremely rude to me. She was super disrespectful with her tone and attitude. Not only was she mean to me, but she also did a terrible job and rushed the entire process. There's still glue on my fingers and it's been hours. Also featured are extremely bumpy nails. It wasn't at all what I wanted and it's a shame to say this, but I would go to literally ANY other nail salon. This one is awful, so don't waste your money here. read more

I've been going to Tarrytown Nails for years and their customer service is good- polite, and its a clean place. However, I recently got my first GEL MANICURE there and would NOT recommend. The nails are inconsistent and some parts are translucent. I asked after 2 layers why it looked like that, so she did a 3rd layer. 3 layers of GEL should not look like this... I have been "dating" nail salons across Austin to find the perfect dip manicure and I have finally found it! Lindsey at Tarrytown Nails and Spa is incredible! She pays such attention to detail; I never felt like she was just rushing through and I could tell she really cared about her finished product. I told her my biggest problem with dip nails are how bulky and unnatural they tend to look so she made sure to only do two layers and file them accordingly to make them look as natural as possible. I will definitely be coming back when these grow out. I am elated to have found this gem! P.S. The workers were very nice and the spa pedicure was high quality. However, the place itself was pretty chaotic. They are clearly very popular- but they don't have a clear system of greeting newcomers and integrating appointments alongside walk-ins. It was a little awkward upon arriving for my appt and not having any idea when I'd actually be seen. This was the Friday afternoon before Memorial Day, though, so take this with a grain of salt. I think they either shouldn't do appointments or find a way to prioritize those more effectively. Still, as I said, the pedicure turned out great. I received a gift certificate for a pedicure a few years ago had a bad experience. TTN is loud because the technicians talk to each other across the room and clients bring their children for the nail techs to babysit while getting their nails done. There was a crying baby and a toddler running throughout the store when I was trying to relax for pedi. My favorite nail tech moved to TTN so I went again this week. It is still loud but what is far worse is there is no attempt at social distancing .I was seated next to a client getting nails done when there were open areas available. All pedi chairs and nail areas are close together and clients are not anywhere near 6 feet apart. There were 12 nail techs in the store, some working, some lounging around throughout store. Employees stood right next to each other and talked. It is clearly unsafe although masks are worn. I got a good manicure but it was far from relaxing and down right unsafe. They are okay in past times I've been, never really that attentive and try to get you to agree to longer/extra services without mentioning an extra cost. The worst time was today, I had a reservation and it had started raining about an hour before my reservation time. I sit in traffic from work for 45 minutes to make sure I get to my appointment on time. I show up and they are closing because it's raining. I had a reservation and they didn't close for another 1.5 hours. The least they could do is call people that have scheduled appointments and let them know they're closing early. Talk about efficient!!! That is my favorite thing about this place - In, done, out, and on your way! What is also great is that they are not sacrificing quality for speed. They work quickly, but also do a nice and thorough job. I was there during a pretty high traffic time (Saturday, early afternoon) and they had a steady stream of people coming in and signing up on the wait list, but nobody had to wait more than 10 minutes. The spa pedicure was great! (I'm not a big manicure person - prior bad experience elsewhere). They have the massage chairs and did a nice job with the exfoliation and foot scrubbing. They had a nice selection of high quality polish colors and did an expert job on applying the polish. The only drawback is that they only had few extra chairs for a tiny waiting area. So, while you won't have to wait long, you might have to stand or be crammed into a tiny spot in the corner until it is your turn. Also, they only took cash and check. I don't think that's a big issue but just FYI. read more

I am a spa-going, downtown-dwelling, professional, and absolutely love TT Nails. They are very fast, always remember your name, you never have to ask them to do your nails at the "same time" as your pedicure because that's just their preferred style. My manicure is always spot on. My pedicure, well, you've just gotta learn to pick a good one for the scrubbing. Pick someone with some muscles, I'll just leave it at that! Really disappointed in this salon. Made an appointment and had to ask for a technician to help me after 45 minutes of waiting past my appointment time. When I finally got a technician she was extremely passive aggressive. Made me soak my nails in acetone so long my nail literally broke off. Then made my nails coffin shaped after I specifically asked them not to, every nail is a different shape, color is spotty and doesn't reach cuticles. She also made one of my nails bleed and chipped the other. Still looking for a good nail salon in Austin but this is definitely not it. read more

I made an appointment the day before for a gel mani and pedi with a dip removal. I came in 5 mins before my appt at 9am ..right when they opened, and immediately I felt rushed! As I was trying to pick a color, the lady kept on repeating that she was ready! Um, I came here to relax and get my nails done, so I shouldn't feel rushed especially when I made an appt. Once I got into the chair it was even worse, the water was cold!! And she didn't even seem like she cared! She did not cut my cuticles or my nails well, and (before I could even say something) she put the wrong gel color on my nails! I also had to remind her to lotion my legs after she exfoliated because they were itchy! At that point, I just wanted to get out of there so I didn't care. I wanted #89 not #86, so that tells me she couldn't differentiate a 9 and from a 6.... Also, while she was doing my pedicure, another lady proceeded to wrap my nails with acetone to remove the dip. She made me hold my hands over to one side the whole time she was doing this process! They must have water downed acetone because it didn't even remove the dip so she filed my nails down before I could tell her not to! THE WHOLE POINT OF DIP IS FOR IT TO MAKE YOUR NAIL STRONGER. So why the HELL, did she think it was okay to essentially ruin my long pretty nails!! They are so paper thin I had to completely cut them off! I'm COMPLETELY LIVID because it's going to take me MONTHS to grow out what she did to them! There's about 100 other things that sucked about this place. They are cheap but you get what you pay for. I quite frankly would rather pay double than pay for some lady to ruin my nails. My "GEL" nails are already chipping. read more

Initially found this place due the convenience being located next to downtown. Was thoroughly impressed by the prices and speediness turn around of pedicure. The ladies always do a great job, and very relaxing massage. Would really like to have larger selection of nail colors. But then again, usually bring my own color for this reason. There's a reason Passion Nail has a 30 minute wait and Tarrytown Nail can get you in immediately. My pedicure and manicure were both rushed. She didn't even attempt to scrub my feet and I haven't had a pedicure since July! I know they needed a good scrubbing. They rubbed lotion on my feet and legs for 10 minutes, I wouldn't call that a massage. The technician that painted my nails did a sloppy job. They've also raises their prices. I paid $42 for a basic manicure and pedicure. There's no reason to go here. It's worth waiting somewhere else to get better service! read more

Sometimes I bring in my own nail color since they don't always have recent ones or a big selection. Its fairly quick and the results are great. I've been going to Tarrytown Nails for the past three months and have been loving it. I get a gel manicure every time and it always looks perfect. I've also gotten a few pedicures. There are many people on staff and I've never had to wait more than ten minutes. Personally, I don't understand the reviews that detail years of great service from this place and then they get (what they deem to be) one manicure they dislike and consequently write a bad review.
