Paulina was amazing. I was very scared because I had negative experiences in the past with lashes. She took it slow, and took the time to let me see her progress even if it meant re-taping my eyes. Then she advocated for the right price for me. It saved me maybe 30 or 40 dollars that tbh I didn't mind spending - but the fact that she cared to give me a fair price meant that she has my best interests in mind. They promised full lashes, ended up with second degree burns. The collective staff are not licensed professionals and are unaware of the severity of the chemicals they're putting on you. I wasn't going to leave a review because the staff was nice enough to not charge me for burning my eye lids shut, however, last night my eyes were so swollen I could not open them. FYI, eyes should not burn with ANY treatment being done--not even at the slightest. So to my readers, if you make the mistake getting a lash lift here and they do burn, wash ASAP and do NOT let the 'esthetician' rub them. Do a proper eye wash under a running sink to provide a pure cleanse. Rubbing a cotton ball with water on your eye will cause more harm than good and unfortunately the esthetician who tried to help me in my pain at first would not allow me to do my own wash. There are active ingredients in the eye wash they use as well as the glue, and of course the perm. That is the recipe for a chemical burn. I understand this wasn't the salons intention to fuck up my eyes, but due to their negligence, I am now left with severe inflammation, bruising, tenderness, and burns. The only compensation was to not charge me and a few apologies. Then one of the staff performed her own lash lift on herself and told me it does indeed burn but not as much as it burned on me. That to me is absurd that she would even think thats a proper way to test. THEN she sent me an article via email on the glue they use! WTF! Please dont go here, Im opting to make this into a case to prevent anything else from happening to potential clients. read more

You definitely get the service your pay for! While it may be a bit hefty of a price tag, especially for students, my aesthetician really took her time with my lashes for the 3.5 hours that I had her! They came out exactly how I had described in the consultation and the lashes were EXTREMELY comfortable!! They put in one eyelash at a time and really put thought and efforts into which lash (which thickness, length) would be placed where and on which lash to that if your lash is smaller/weaker, it can still hold the lash they glue on top. Overall, if you have the money to spend, get your lashes done here because they will take gooooood care of you and your lashes! read more

This place is beautiful! The lash quality is great nothing I've experienced before. I have full lashes without adding volume or extra lashes to one lash. I was a model for a friend starting there, but the owner did mine and all her lash employees are taught the same. I will definitely be back. If you try it out ask for LEXI! I will be seeing her for fills. It's close to downtown Austin, so it's nice to be able to have an excuse to go there and actually spend a day with great lashes strutting around. I can't say anything about eyelash stuff, only eyebrow stuff. They use sugar rather than wax. It didn't hurt nearly as much as waxing, so if you're getting waxed somewhere, and you hate it, switch to Betty Lash. It was pretty painless, and the results are the same. If threading hurts too much to do on a regular basis, again, switch to Betty Lash. My brows didn't look nearly as good as they do after threading, but they looked better than they would have in their ungroomed state. The eyelashes were worth 3.5 stars, but the woman who did my brows was weird and mean. Polite, but still mean. She made me feel ugly in a way I haven't felt since high school, and even told me that I should shave my face with a razor. Girly girls will probably love Betty Lash, but crunchy girls should probably avoid. read more

A few months back, someone bought me a gift certificate for lashes. I was super stoked, especially after my last horrid experience at Lashes de Bella... The salon is adorable and the gentleman at the front desk most welcoming! I was impressed with how quaint the interior was presented. You are whisked away to a waiting parlor area with hot tea, assorted magazines for your viewing pleasure and lil chocolates! This set me up for an impending extraordinary experience or so I thought... Mia was my aesthetician. She was nice enough but seemed rushed. I do my best to engage with anyone that is providing a service, as we are all human and one likes to feel that you are more than a service-provider or 'providee'. Me included... We briefly discussed the ideal options for my eyes etc...I felt optimistic, based on my prior comments that I was in competent hands. She seemed thorough, and I appreciated the accruements... Initially, I was impressed with how natural they looked and felt and went with her expertise regarding which glue to use. However, once I was home, it was apparent that the glue dried white. Needless to say, I looked as if I had 'sleep' on my eyes/lashes, until they fell out. Boo. Unfortunately, I was quite busy with work, so I didn't have the time to call regarding the glue or my dissatisfaction... Also, before I left I felt persuaded to purchase a lash cleaner that was a bit pricey, and in all seriousness, unnecessary. I guess I dodged a lil bullet in that I didn't purchase this myself. But I was disappointed that I didn't find my new lash lady at Betty Lash. I'm willing to pay for exemplary work, lashes & service, but the end result is what led to this poor review. I showed up for my appointment, no one called to tell me she had left or that they had changed me to another technician. I found out they purposely did not call me. The front desk staff were rude and made a parting comment of "this is unfortunate"... No this is avoidable. You would think as strict as they are with charging for missed appointments a certain level of basic professionalism could be afforded. I decided to go to Betty Lash for a fill after having a prior good experience, and they confirmed that the lashes applied were too much for my fine lashes as well as other problems. Well, this is new. Normally I'm the hating bitch who can't stand what everyone else loves. I got an airbrush tan here today, and I'm quite pleased with it! My friend and I got half-off coupons to this place. She went first and was not happy with her result. She said she walked out dripping with solution and had to go home and sit on a towel. She didn't like the color and scrubbed it off the next day, so I was very reluctant to go, but since I had already paid for it, I decided to brave it. The great: The staff was really nice, not that creepy, Stepford, I'm-smiling-so-I-can-get-your-money nice you sometimes see at salons. The airbrush tech sat down and talked about what I was hoping to achieve, how my skin tans, etc. then led me to the spray area. Her instructions were clear, her manner was professional, and after spraying me, she spent a good 10-15 minutes drying me with an air hose and doing slight adjustments with a towel. She washed my feet, palms and cuticles with hot towels, and made sure I was happy with the color. The not-so-great: The rest of your day is kind of shot. You can't sweat or get wet for 8 hours afterward, and the drive home (in 90 degree heat / 99% humidity) was harrowing. I needed to stop at Whole Foods on my way home, and people were definitely staring. (You have to wear loose clothing and no bra for a few hours afterward.) It's REALLY expensive. Were it not for a half-off coupon, I never would have spent $55 on a spray tan. In fact, my cheap ass can't believe I spent $27.50 on a spray tan. All in all, I enjoyed my experience, and if you have the means, I think this would be a great place to frequent. Oh, and they have free parking in the lot next door!
