I cannot recommend Marge and Healing Ink enough!! I had my eyebrows done in May and because I do not live in the country anymore was only recently able to go back for a touch up session. My eyebrows looked great but we decided to fill in a little more boldly this time. Marge has an amazing aesthetic eye for what shape goes best with one's facial features, age and lifestyle, and she gets at this information by making an effortless connection with her clients. She knew I was not ready to go straight to where we ended up - I needed that 1st treatment to get used to the new look. Well now I am 2 days past my touch up and I love, love, love the results! I understand what to expect as my brows heal and am super excited for the final result. Also, as a wonderful, bonus, I decided to have eyeliner done on my upper lids. Once again, Marge was very meticulous about keeping the look natural, suitable to me, and not overdone. I live in a tropical climate and don't wear make-up, so it would have been weird if she over-did my brows and eyes. She just has the perfect eye for meeting her clients' needs. I made an appointment with Marge this week for microblading. I have so few eyebrows I was ready to try this procedure. I am over middle age. Any time one makes a permanent change there is always a bit of angst along with it. I had a long conversation with Marge before we started the procedure to make sure I was very clear on what to expect and what not to expect. Marge was very through explaining and making sure I was completely clear on all the steps. I did a lot of my own investigating before I made this decision. Marge drew the shape on my brow area for me to approve and after a bit of tweaking we got under way. She explained each move she made as we went along. I did not find it extremely uncomfortable but I will say it is puncturing the skin. Her procedure was very sterile which I find very important. One day after I look much better than I anticipated. Healing takes about 7 days and I feel like it will be a shorter time for my healing. read more

Marge Gomez is a true artist working with a palette of makeup and your skin is her canvas. She has a way of knowing exactly what will make you look and feel your very best. Because I have fair skin, for my permanent eyeliner, Marge suggested using black for the upper lid, and charcoal gray for the lower, to give a subtler look. It is gorgeous! I was interested in microblading to fill some gaps in my eyebrows and create a more symmetrical shape. Before committing to an appointment, Jess went over the preparation, procedure, and aftercare in detail before my appointment so I knew exactly what would happen. Once booked, Jess asked for sample photos of brows that I liked as well as a few photos of my face, so we could talk through shaping options. I wanted to mostly stick to my natural brow shape and fill in some sections / lengthen the ends, so I sent over a few photos of myself with brows I liked in the past as a baseline in addition to inspiration pictures online. The appointment: The studio is a bit of a drive from north Austin but parking is ample and easy. The space is clean, bright, and welcoming. Jess made sure to send me a couple rounds of brow edits a day before so there were no surprises when she mapped out the brows on my face. Once they looked good to me, she started the numbing cream and then the microblading. The whole process took about two and a half hours and was relatively painless, no sensation at all until the last five minutes when the numbing cream wore off a little, but even then it just felt similar to threading. Jess was thorough with hygiene (I am a germaphobe so this was huge!!), using all new instruments and changing gloves whenever she needed to reach for something else. Jess checked in regularly after my session to check how the brows were healing and gave me tips for when they got a little itchy. It's been a month since my session and my brows are looking clean, full, and finally symmetrical! I couldn't love them more.

I don't trust my face to just anyone and was willing to pay for an artist that had a strong portfolio and good reviews on Yelp and Mary Rae checked all those boxes. I grew up in the 90s and made the mistake of plucking my eyebrows thin and they never grew back. I also have blonde hair, so my eyebrows were pretty light in color. Mary Rae gave me thick, beautiful brows that are the perfect shade of blonde. I wake up everyday and am surprised by how good I look without any makeup. Brow Rehab is like the BMW of brow studios. It's not the cheapest, but it's definitely the highest quality you can find. Worth every penny of the investment!

When I first came to Mary Rae I'd had my brows done (micro-bladed, powder-brow) a couple of times and all the work had faded into a really bleh grayish color. Not only did she fix them, she made them look even better than they did any of the previous times. Mary Rae is also so technically skilled. Her method barely hurts, and she stay has a great eye for shape and color. AND she's the nicest and has great bedside manner. I truly cannot say enough good things about Mary Rae!! Seriously, go to her for your brows.

Because it is literally a small business, customers wait in their vehicles to be texted to come in. I met with Laurie. She was personable and very skilled. She made me very comfortable. As she was waxing, there were times she let me know where she was going to be waxing to warn me (delicate areas!). Paying is very easy. The building feels like a cozy home. Very welcoming. Nothing steely and cold about it. I look forward to supporting this business for my future waxing needs.
