    Pork chop rice
    Ann C.

If you are craving Taiwanese, fast food, QQ Kitchen is definitely a place to check out. Friendly service and yummy food. We ordered their pork, chop rice, fried fish, rice, and popcorn chicken. I love that they're rice. Dishes includes a green tea or black tea. Prices are definitely reasonable. Check this Mom and Pop place out.

Is been over 12 years since I been here and I keep trying to remember the place and finally found it!!!! Exactly like I remember good food ... Ok service, but it's a mom and pop operation so I understand they were so busy with to go and pickup orders... There isn't a ton of sewing y in there maybe 3 booths for 4 and 4 for 2 people .. Overall exactly what I remember and they have a very large Vegetarian selection on the menu

I've been on a Taiwanese food binge lately and have been searching everywhere for some good, authentic Taiwanese dishes. This little mom-and-pop, hole-in-the-wall spot really hit the mark. The food tastes just like what I'd expect from back home or from the night markets in Taiwan. I tried the stinky tofu (a must-have for any true Taiwanese food lover), the pork chop rice, and a few other dishes--and every bite was delicious, flavorful, and comforting. The portions are generous without being overwhelming, and the seasoning is on point. The owners are super friendly and welcoming, which makes the dining experience feel even more like you're visiting family. The restaurant shares a plaza with other shops, so there's plenty of parking available, which is a big plus. A couple of tips: it's best to bring cash, as not everything is set up for cards. Also, they do have a restroom on site, which is always nice for a small place like this. Overall, this is the kind of spot you want to keep coming back to--and the kind of hidden gem you almost don't want to share so it stays special. Definitely one of my new go-to Taiwanese comfort food spots!

Been on the lookout for the best Taiwanese pork chop rice in the area and found this spot on Yelp. Looked pretty legit, it's been around for 15+ years from what I heard. I called in my order for pickup and they threw in a free green or red tea, which was a nice bonus. The pork chop rice was solid. Not the best I've had, but still good. The pork chop isn't battered so it's not crispy, but it had good flavor. I liked the meat sauce they drizzle over the rice. The green tea was a bit sweet, but hey it was free. Overall, pretty solid spot. I'd come back if I was craving this kind of pork chop rice again.

I drove by QQ occasionally and finally had a chance to try its food. I ordered the pork chop rice, which was very tasty. The pork chop was tender and full of flavor. It comes with a free drink (you can choose between an iced green tea or red tea). The shop is a bit small, but the service is attentive. Although I got the food to go, the lady (I believe she is the owner) still kept me updated on my order.

    pork belly with brown rice

My parents used to take me here all the time 10-15years ago! Their tea jelly is really great and refreshing, and so is their shaved ice for the summer. I made a lunchtime phone order for a pork belly rice with brown rice, and I skipped the free green/black tea bc the worker said they add sugar to it. (If you like sweet, then go ahead and get it! I've just become a grandma who does no sugar these days lol.) Picked it up super fast, and the lady who rang me up was really nice! And ohhhh my god the pork belly fat was rendered SOOOO soft and the meat was so tender ... ugh, so yummy. You know how sometimes you get pork belly and it's a little tough or gelatinous? not the case here at all !! My meal came out to 13.16, solid for a good lunch!

    Vege beef noodle soup

I've been coming here since I was young because they have a mirror vegetarian menu and a lot of authentic Taiwanese homestyle dishes. The price was also super affordable with big portions back then. Since childhood they've gone full vegetarian at the encouragement of the owner's temple then back to only half vegetarian. During COVID, they were only take-out and I am SO happy they have dine-in again! They definitely prefer cash only and it is a small mom and pop with the same staff from years ago. It's nice to see a familiar face. Since an owner change, some recipes were tweaked but overall it's very similar. One of my favorite things to get is the mushroom omelette that is a parallel to the oyster omelette street food. I also really like to get stir fried udon. The vegetarian beef noodle soup is also hard to fine at other vegetarian restaurants and is very flavorful. Shaved ice is only 5 dollars (fyi condensed milk counts as one of the four topping choices). The staff isn't super friendly but they are busy trying to do their job as cashier, help with dishes. There is a station on the side where you can get your own water and extra utensils, plates, cups if needed. No frills just nostalgic, comfort food.

Huge shaved ice with your choice of 4 toppings only $4

Old hole in the wall, no A/C 4 tables but tell me where you can get a 4 item shaved ice for $5 in today's world. Don't expect glamour or great service just 2 aunties and 1 uncle behind the counter.

    Slash ice!

Great yummy place if you're looking for Taiwanese food and slash ice treats! Hidden gem in San Gabriel valley must try!

Is it just me or does anyone else get bothered by cash only places that charge tax? I guess I'm getting more sensitive to the rising cost of food. I mean, you only take cash for obvious benefits and force customers to pay tax because you can mark up the food cost. Asking customers to play by the rules but you're not? If you're only taking cash, shouldn't you not charge tax?! Is it just me? Popcorn chicken 5/10 Honey lemon 8/10 $10 for popcorn chicken in a small Togo container. Not much value here. Chicken was bland. Got some garlic flavor, but very little of anything else. Probably won't be back.

    Iced green tea

This time, I not only ordered my usual but also ordered a stir fried veggie (A-choy). Needless to say, it is very good...just like all the other dishes I tried. The veggie was fresh and crisp, and I like the fact it had lots of garlic. Definitely a good dish, not to mention I met my veggie quota for the day .

Grab a basket of the fried sesame scallion bread and get something saucy to dunk it in. Green Onion Sesame Pie: This prized basket of northern-style flatbread is probably what most people here are waiting for. The fried bread is cut into wedges with a crispy crackling exterior topped with fragrant sesame seeds. Inside, the bread layers are soft, pillowy, and bursting with green onions. Of course, it was the first thing that arrived, so we each voraciously ate a wedge on its own. Fish Filet with Bean Sauce: If you have enough self control, wait until they bring out the fish. The sauce is thick and savory. There's so much flavor from the minced garlic, fermented black beans, and scallions. The silky sauce seem to find a way into all the nooks and crannies of the stellar bread. Fried Red Yeast Pork Belly: The cooking technique of this dish is pretty cool. This is like a crispy char siu. The rich pork belly is marinated in red yeast rice wine for its aromatic flavor. It is coated in tapioca flour and then fried. The edges are crispy and kind of chewy while the meat is juicy and tender. Tofu Skin, Soy Beans, and Mustard Greens: The super thin tofu sheets and soy beans are a Shanghainese classic. With finely chopped mustard greens, the dish is a delightful study of textures: crunchy greens, chewy soy beans, and snappy from the tofu skin. The flavor is neutral and nourishing. Parking: It looks like there are only street parking spots, which there are plenty of. But, they have a lot in the back accessible through the alley by Alessandro Avenue.

I would eat the sesame bread every day. It was crispy on the outside and so soft and fluffy on the inside. Delicious especially when you dip it in the fish bean sauce. The fish in bean sauce was perfectly cooked and the sauce was savory and a perfect companion to the sesame bread. The mustard green, tofu skin and soy beans was good. I've had better as it was a little too salty. But this dish paired perfectly with everything else we ate. The highlight and unexpected stand out was the pork belly. I honestly didn't know what to expect when we ordered this dish. I thought it would be more like a braised dish. But man was I surprised. This is essentially char Siu that they batter like the Taiwanese pork chops. So you know this is a winning dish. This place isn't too big and they had a line out the door with people waiting for dinner. Definitely come here early. Staff was friendly and as quick as they could be. Definitely will come back.

They do share the lot with several other establishments. The lot doesn't really get busy, so you shouldn't have any problems with finding parking. I did notice that some spots are smaller than others. Food: I ordered a mild spicy popcorn chicken and minced bowl/ plate. The popcorn chicken was very flavorful, crunchy, tender, and juicy. Big portion for like $10. The Taiwanese seasoning mix brought me right back to the night markets to Taiwan. It's truly the 5 spice powder that hits the spot. The batter wasn't thick, so the chicken didn't taste very battery/ cakey. That's what I hate about some places that make popcorn chicken. It also wasn't too spicy for me. It was just right. I ordered the minced bowl, which is actually a plate. For like $12, it was actually pretty good and the portions was huge. The boiled / blanched cabbage and broccoli were soft, sweet, and tasty. I could taste the sesame oil on it. It wasn't salty. The sweet corn and diced juicy tomatoes combo was good too. The boiled tea egg was pretty delicious. You can actually taste the tea and soy sauce. The egg was nice and soft. And now, for the braised minced pork. The pork was very delicious and it just melted in my mouth. I love that there were some fatty pieces of pork too in the dish. It balanced out some of the pieces of pork, which had too much meat in it. Definitely a very savory and rich dish. Omg and the sauce from the braised minced pork drizzled over the rice was just so perfect! It made the rice extremely delectable. This is hands down one of my favorite Taiwanese dishes, and it was made perfectly. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, welcoming, and kind. They are closing this restaurant down in February 2026 due to rising rent and the landlord's unwillingness to upgrade the place. So sad. I'm seriously upset to see this place go. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is a $20 credit card minimum.
