Pork chop rice
Ann C.

If you are craving Taiwanese, fast food, QQ Kitchen is definitely a place to check out. Friendly service and yummy food. We ordered their pork, chop rice, fried fish, rice, and popcorn chicken. I love that they're rice. Dishes includes a green tea or black tea. Prices are definitely reasonable. Check this Mom and Pop place out.

Is been over 12 years since I been here and I keep trying to remember the place and finally found it!!!! Exactly like I remember good food ... Ok service, but it's a mom and pop operation so I understand they were so busy with to go and pickup orders... There isn't a ton of sewing y in there maybe 3 booths for 4 and 4 for 2 people .. Overall exactly what I remember and they have a very large Vegetarian selection on the menu

I've been on a Taiwanese food binge lately and have been searching everywhere for some good, authentic Taiwanese dishes. This little mom-and-pop, hole-in-the-wall spot really hit the mark. The food tastes just like what I'd expect from back home or from the night markets in Taiwan. I tried the stinky tofu (a must-have for any true Taiwanese food lover), the pork chop rice, and a few other dishes--and every bite was delicious, flavorful, and comforting. The portions are generous without being overwhelming, and the seasoning is on point. The owners are super friendly and welcoming, which makes the dining experience feel even more like you're visiting family. The restaurant shares a plaza with other shops, so there's plenty of parking available, which is a big plus. A couple of tips: it's best to bring cash, as not everything is set up for cards. Also, they do have a restroom on site, which is always nice for a small place like this. Overall, this is the kind of spot you want to keep coming back to--and the kind of hidden gem you almost don't want to share so it stays special. Definitely one of my new go-to Taiwanese comfort food spots!

Green tea included with meal

Been on the lookout for the best Taiwanese pork chop rice in the area and found this spot on Yelp. Looked pretty legit, it's been around for 15+ years from what I heard. I called in my order for pickup and they threw in a free green or red tea, which was a nice bonus. The pork chop rice was solid. Not the best I've had, but still good. The pork chop isn't battered so it's not crispy, but it had good flavor. I liked the meat sauce they drizzle over the rice. The green tea was a bit sweet, but hey it was free. Overall, pretty solid spot. I'd come back if I was craving this kind of pork chop rice again.

I drove by QQ occasionally and finally had a chance to try its food. I ordered the pork chop rice, which was very tasty. The pork chop was tender and full of flavor. It comes with a free drink (you can choose between an iced green tea or red tea). The shop is a bit small, but the service is attentive. Although I got the food to go, the lady (I believe she is the owner) still kept me updated on my order.

pork belly with brown rice

My parents used to take me here all the time 10-15years ago! Their tea jelly is really great and refreshing, and so is their shaved ice for the summer. I made a lunchtime phone order for a pork belly rice with brown rice, and I skipped the free green/black tea bc the worker said they add sugar to it. (If you like sweet, then go ahead and get it! I've just become a grandma who does no sugar these days lol.) Picked it up super fast, and the lady who rang me up was really nice! And ohhhh my god the pork belly fat was rendered SOOOO soft and the meat was so tender ... ugh, so yummy. You know how sometimes you get pork belly and it's a little tough or gelatinous? not the case here at all !! My meal came out to 13.16, solid for a good lunch!

Vege beef noodle soup

I've been coming here since I was young because they have a mirror vegetarian menu and a lot of authentic Taiwanese homestyle dishes. The price was also super affordable with big portions back then. Since childhood they've gone full vegetarian at the encouragement of the owner's temple then back to only half vegetarian. During COVID, they were only take-out and I am SO happy they have dine-in again! They definitely prefer cash only and it is a small mom and pop with the same staff from years ago. It's nice to see a familiar face. Since an owner change, some recipes were tweaked but overall it's very similar. One of my favorite things to get is the mushroom omelette that is a parallel to the oyster omelette street food. I also really like to get stir fried udon. The vegetarian beef noodle soup is also hard to fine at other vegetarian restaurants and is very flavorful. Shaved ice is only 5 dollars (fyi condensed milk counts as one of the four topping choices). The staff isn't super friendly but they are busy trying to do their job as cashier, help with dishes. There is a station on the side where you can get your own water and extra utensils, plates, cups if needed. No frills just nostalgic, comfort food.

Huge shaved ice with your choice of 4 toppings only $4

Old hole in the wall, no A/C 4 tables but tell me where you can get a 4 item shaved ice for $5 in today's world. Don't expect glamour or great service just 2 aunties and 1 uncle behind the counter.

Slash ice!

Great yummy place if you're looking for Taiwanese food and slash ice treats! Hidden gem in San Gabriel valley must try!

Is it just me or does anyone else get bothered by cash only places that charge tax? I guess I'm getting more sensitive to the rising cost of food. I mean, you only take cash for obvious benefits and force customers to pay tax because you can mark up the food cost. Asking customers to play by the rules but you're not? If you're only taking cash, shouldn't you not charge tax?! Is it just me? Popcorn chicken 5/10 Honey lemon 8/10 $10 for popcorn chicken in a small Togo container. Not much value here. Chicken was bland. Got some garlic flavor, but very little of anything else. Probably won't be back.

Iced green tea

This time, I not only ordered my usual but also ordered a stir fried veggie (A-choy). Needless to say, it is very good...just like all the other dishes I tried. The veggie was fresh and crisp, and I like the fact it had lots of garlic. Definitely a good dish, not to mention I met my veggie quota for the day .

You walk in thinking, "I'll just grab a quick bowl," and suddenly there's a noodle master stretching dough like he's training for the Olympics. Their Lanzhou-style noodles? Fresh, chewy, and honestly a little too good--they'll ruin instant ramen for you forever. The Lan noodle soup is so rich and savory. The died mixed noodle feels like a warm hug... if hugs came with chili oil and a kick that sneaks up on you. It's a small, busy spot, so yeah, you might wait--but don't worry, the line moves fast. Plus, it gives you time to emotionally prepare for choosing your noodle shape. Thin? Wide? Triangle? This is not a decision to take lightly. One wrong move and you'll be thinking about it halfway through your bowl like, "I should've gone wider."

They have a small and large sweet and sour chicken rice plate. I had gotten the small size just to try it out, but it was surprisingly good (5/5). The pork sandwich bun was decent (4/5) since the beef was tasty but the sandwich bun could be better. We also had the traditional beef noodle soups with either the wide flat and triangle ones. You can't go wrong with these freshly made pulled noodles, and they are very hearty portions. Flavor is good and the beef is very tender. The smashed cucumbers were decent also (4/5), but nothing spectacular about them. Service is very quick, attentive and pleasant. This is a good go to spot for a quick meal. The dining room doesn't seat a lot of people so try not to come during busy dining hours on weekends to avoid a long wait.

The lady at the cashier was so sweet and friendly. She patiently introduced me to their menu and food, made recommendations. I'm very pleased by her customer service. Came here for the first time since we always go to LAN noodles next story so decided to give this place a try. Wasn't busy for it being 6pm so plenty of seats here available. We ended ordering: Pork and Cabbage Dumpling - good portion for the price you're paying. Stuffy is good but is on the salty side. Best when eaten hot. (They sell frozen dumplings if you want to take some home) Traditional Minced Pork with Dry Noodles - recommend this dish here if you like dry noodles; only $10 and it's filling! Although the egg was warm on the outside but a tad cold in the inside so maybe warm it up a bit more. Premium Braised Beef Noodles - friend had this and she found nothing special about it. Their menu doesn't include drink options but they sell bottled beverages behind the counter. Owner should think about getting it added. Sauces are served community style; they're not at your table. Big turn off were the water cups that were provided. They looked old and should be replaced. Overall, a simple establishment if you want both noodles and dumplings.

XiAn Foodie 李老三 serves food that is not only delicious, but authentic and full of soul. The handmade noodles were impressive. perfectly chewy and springy, soaking up the rich sauce. Every bite was flavorful and satisfying! The lamb skewers, beef skewers, beef shank noodles, lamb & carrot dumplings, and oil-splashed noodles are all highly recommended. Everything was tender, aromatic, and clearly prepared with great care and attention to flavor and ingredients. Spice lovers will definitely be happy here, but even if you normally don't eat spicy food, you'll still find yourself going back for bite after bite. The restaurant itself is simple yet elegant, clean, and comfortable, with the warm feeling of a beloved local spot. The service is friendly, and the food comes out quickly, creating a relaxed and welcoming dining experience. Especially after a long day, having a hot bowl of their oil-splashed noodles feels genuinely comforting. If you enjoy unique Xi'an cuisine, I highly recommend giving this place a try. Overall, most of the dishes were solid. The only one I could have skipped was the chicken and potato dish...it just didn't stand out compared to everything else. I think this was the dish that we took leftovers since everyone else also felt a similar way regarding that dish. The skewers were well-cooked, but the cumin flavor was a bit overpowering for my taste, and it lingered longer than I would've liked. With that said, there were definitely some highlights. I really loved the shrimp fried rice and the beef dumplings, but my favorite was the wide noodle dish with mixed meats. It was incredibly flavorful and hit all the right notes. I actually ordered it after noticing another table enjoying the same dish. Honestly, their reactions said everything and it absolutely lived up to the expectation. The owner was warm and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. The restaurant itself is very clean, with bright lighting and a modern aesthetic that makes it feel inviting. Parking is also convenient, with plenty of space available in the back garage. All in all, it's a spot I'd recommend for anyone looking to try authentic flavors from the Xi'an region.
