A friend picked us up some pork and chicken banh mis from this place claiming that it's their favorite. Supposedly the cost is very affordable (but I didn't pay for it), but I was most impressed by the sandwiches themselves. The best place to get your dose of French bread and Vietnamese sandwiches in the south end. Most restaurants nearby (or even far) utilize their bread. It's unique and delicious enough that you can tell, but there's also been many times where I've seen people leave the store with bags and bags of bread. It's just that good. Their bread is baked fresh daily and if you're lucky enough, you may even catch the baker dumping their bread into the baskets straight from the pan. What I like most about their bread is that it's crispy and flaky on the outside and doughy on the inside. It has the perfect amount of crunch and it's great for sandwiches. Came here with friends and we went here early in the morning. They have lots of baked goods from banh mi, pastries, snacks and other street food. This place looks like a mom and pop local store. The food here is fresh and so much reasonable price compare to other different stores or franchises around the city. My banh mi was delicious, packed with lots of meat, veggies, and the pate is good. I stayed around the area in an Airbnb when touring Seattle with my boyfriend- being Vietnamese, I craved for Vietnamese food and knowing how big the community is, I was on the hunt for a good Pate Chaud/Ca Phe Sua Da. This place does not disappoint! Pate chaud was so flaky and the pork juices just simmers out immediately after you bite it. I also went ahead to purchase a Banh Tieu (honestly I'd skip out on this it tasted too dry compared to other places). The people at Q Bakery are so nice, I wish I knew what everything was so I could buy more than my 'usual': a ham and cheese croissant or two, a cookie for my daughter and occasionally a baguette. They offer hot deli type food, hum bow, and more. Unfortunately, I'm a Viet-newbie and don't know what half of it is in the packages. It sure looks yummy though. What I do get is fantastic; the croissants are perfectly baked, flakey on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. This area is great to get stuff done - like eating food! I had my car at the Firestone shop up the street and usually walk this area while waiting. I decided to try Q's banh mi. Selection of choice? Grilled pork... this was really good and I liked how the bread cut was on the top and not on the side. The side cuts tend to spew out the insides with each bite. Initially I went in to see if they had any pate chauds and egg rolls and low and behold they had fresh baked bread right out of the oven. The aroma was heavenly. On a normal day I wouldn't be leaving a 2 star review for this place as my wife and I really like their banh mi, but today just wasn't her day. We both got a grilled pork banh mi, which were both delicious. HOWEVER, when she got toward the end of her sandwich, she found a rubber band in there. Some great breads and sandwiches. The Banh Mi sandwiches are really good, traditional taste and at unbeatable prices. I have to try the unusual sandwiches so ate one with Headcheese and another one with a shrimp Patty. Amazing does do it justice. What was disappointing was the Chicken Steam Bun I had. It left the shop and immediately bit into it. Outside was hot/warm. Inside filling was ice cold. I had to wait to get home to microwave it. I had been totally overlooking this place. Their banh mi dac biet has HEAD CHEESE. Yessss!!! I ordered one of those with *extra* meat. Next time I will ask for extra head cheese only. I ordered my husband a banh mi thit nuong (grilled pork). Total was $9. I took the sandwiches home, cut mine in half, debated eating the whole thing now or saving half for later, and decided to save half for later. I toasted it just a bit. One bite was all it took for me to decide that this was one of the best banh mi I have ever eaten, if not the best. A few more bites in, I decided this was the best. The freshly baked French baguette is unbeatable. It is crusty but so unbelievably soft inside. I didn't end up with a shredded mouth afterwards. There was a good amount of pate, crisp and crunchy vegetables, and not too much of their homemade butter-mayo spread. I ate that sandwich and upon finishing, I immediately texted my husband that I had just eaten the best banh mi ever. And, I'm SO glad I still have half for later for when I have to watch my husband eat his. read more

Pretty good Vietnamese bakery. Headed over to Q after a little shopping at Viet Wah. It is in the same strip mall complex in another building to the side. This is more than a bakery, there is also Vietnamese deli items and banh mi offered here. The bakery selections are a mix of Asian and Western goods. You will find baguettes and croissants alongside Chinese donuts, BBQ pork buns and egg tarts here. They also have random convenience store type snacks and a fridge case full of drinks and desserts. Picked up a raspberry croissant ($1.50), coconut bread rolls ($2) and a pate chaud ($1.75). The croissant and coconut bread was decent and a good value for sure. Not on par with a Le Panier type bakery, but solid. Though the pate chaud, which is a flaky meat puff pastry was a standout. The fact that they are kept in a heated case keeps them nice and hot, which is how they should be eaten. I go here all the time with my mom to get their freshly toasted banh mi. It's warm and just the right amount of butter on the top as I like. Their quail(smaller) banh mi reminds me a lot of Vietnam, and how smaller banh mi comes more in handy then the bigger ones. Their bun bo heu is also good!
