THANH SON TOFU @ SEATTLE Parking is available in their lot, can get crowded however it is free and available to customers. The location it self is very sketchy, just a block down is a line of homeless people, a lot of them are walking in the middle of the roads, on a substance. It's really sad - but I'd recommend to be aware of your surroundings. However, the place itself inside is clean, big, and very detailed. There are frozen items and fresh items placed daily. There is also a Banh Mi Station which is super delicious and i'd recommend trying! Service is quick and easy, and it isn't too pricey. It's mostly by the pound of you buy something fresh. Overall great vietnamese food!

**vegetarian review** Thanh son is a no frills place. I expected it to be a restaurant- it's more like a small specialty store and takeout food place. Very clean but not seating space. Lots of interesting foods but they didn't all have names or labels so I couldn't tell what's vegetarian and it seemed busy so couldn't ask. I got the tofu bahn mi, pandan tofu pudding with ginger syrup, mix of various fried tofu and the fresh hot soya milk. I really liked it all. The bahn mi bread was not hard, and it was a little sweet but delicious. The pandan tofu - I wish was more pandan flavour. The soya milk was excellent. Pretty much everything was tasty and pretty cheap too! Definitely only buying soya milk from here now on.

got terrible food poisoning from undercooked pork meatball banh mi. i ate half and got very sick. the meat in the sandwich was very mushy and i later checked the other half of the sandwich to see if the pork was bad or something. and its pink halfway through. very clearly not cooked fully. :( i am still sick. raw pork is very dangerous please beware.

Huge fan of this spot! So glad we found this on Yelp because this is my tofu heaven! It's a casual walk in spot. They have a little parking lot so if you come when it's not too busy, parking is easy. Service is nice! It's kind of like a store and deli combined. They have an area where you can order bahn mi sandwiches, an area to shop for prepared items, and an area to order cooked tofu by the pound. Their bahn mi sandwiches are delicious and reasonably priced! We got the combo and the grilled pork. We also bought their tofu dessert, a drink from the case, some fresh sweetened soy milk, and pickled veggies. Next time I really want to try their cooked tofu items!

This is a take out establishment where you order and pay at the counter. I love how they have their own parking lot. They have lots of delicious food ranging from banh mi to freshly made soy bean products such as soy bean milk, tofu dessert with sweet ginger syrup, and fried tofu (plain and flavored). They make their own bread for the banh mi. Ordered the following: Fried tofu stuffed with meat, vermicelli, woodear mushrooms - tasted ok, the meat filling wasn't very flavorful Fried tofu with lemongrass and chili flakes - tasty, the lemongrass was fragrant Fried tofu with woodear mushrooms and onions - tasty, the sautéed green onions were fragrant #1 combo sub banh mi - the bread, deli meats, and veggies were fresh and tasty, wish the bread was a bit crunchier Tofu dessert with ginger syrup - the tofu was soft and fresh, the ginger syrup was delicious I would like to come back for more fried tofu and tofu dessert with ginger syrup and try some more desserts, soy milk, banh cuon (if they have it).

Sticky rice with coconut from a can. Not natural flavors like worker said
    Monique L.

The employee behind the counter lie that the three colors sticky rice were not using food color but instead with flavored by actual fruit and leaves naturally. She said the yellow one was durian flavor, the orange one was gấc flavor and the green one pandan leaves flavor. I purchased it for $4.50 and took it home. All three were food colored and tasted like coconut. No durian, panda or gấc. LIAR!

What a nice surprise to find a Vietnamese tofu shop in the middle of International District! Like its name, they serve a variety of tofu options along with desserts and carnivore dishes. We bought a tray of their homemade Pandan Coconut Jelly, which were affectionally shaped like hearts. The dessert was nice and light, and not too sweet which is what I like. Ordering and paying for our item was very confusing. We didn't order from the hot bar so we didn't feel the need to stand in line, but there was also nobody at the counter to allow us to pay for our one item. Ended up standing in front of the cashier until they finished serving a large group and allowed us to quickly pay and leave. Better signage would help and maybe bringing someone that knows Viet, otherwise you might not get served for a while.

This is probably one of my favorite banh mi deli places as the flavors of the banh mi's are just delicious! It's also great that they make their breads in house and fresh. The building consists of two different businesses. The left side is where you can buy desserts and fresh tofu products. Whereas, the right side is where you can order the banh mi's and any other deli items. It is a very spacious and clean building, with nice interior decor. It's great that they do have signs that encourage health safety, as in wearing masks and social distancing. On the deli side, they had a good number of people building the banh mi orders using an assembly line of three workers putting in the fillings for the banh mi's. The staff were helpful and friendly. The only downfall was the limited parking. They do have a private parking lot, but the parking can be rather difficult because of limited space in the lot. Other than parking, everything was great and I'd definitely continue to go here for my banh mi.

Mushroom and onion tofu and lemongrass tofu

Came here to buy some tofu. I hadn't eaten this kind of stuff for years and I was missing my parents cooking. The store is clean and there's things around the deli as well as the cases where they serve you. The lemongrass tofu had a lot of lemongrass flavor. The mushroom and onion had a lot of noodles and mushrooms which I loved. Also grabbed a grilled pork banh mi and that was pretty good as well. I also got vegetarian food. It was a little bland but I'll have to eat some more to try it. I also got sweetened soy milk and it is delicious! Overall it was great service and food.

You're here for the banh mi. They make very good sandwiches and that's all you should order - vegetarian options are also available. The bread could be improved a bit (go early to get fresher loafs) but the fillings are moist and generous. They do offer other smaller options and drinks as well but nothing compares to the sandwiches. Staff can be a bit short and unfriendly but they do a good job serving their sandwiches. There's a small free parking lot on site but otherwise you're parking on the street.

Quick service, variety of food changes. At times staff can be inpatient if you take too long to decide and there is a line behind you (happened to my non-Vietnamese friend as she was trying to figure out what the foods were). Decent pricing

this sandwich was highly impressive as the main part of the…read moresandwich, it was pretty necessary that the pork be cooked to near-perfection, and i have to say it was here it gave off a deep, brown-ish color, which showed the extent of it's cooking and marination. It wasn't quite incredibly tender, but the marinade added an absolute ton of flavor. more importantly, it was present plentifully throughout the sandwich, so practically every bite came filled with pork I also have to mention how packed together the ingredients are between the buns. when you start eating, it's inevitable that a quarter of the ingredients will fall onto the wrap below, leaving a nice secondary meal to finish off after the sandwich is done. the sandwich is packed incredibly tight during the wrapping process, but it unravels a bit while eating. for me, the major highlights of this meal was the onions and the aioli Starting with the onions, these may be the best I've ever had on a sandwich. They're caramelized amazingly, placed onto the sandwich in astoundingly large pieces, are crunchy, and there's just a lot of them. They're just wonderful both texturally and taste-wise. This sandwich is absolutely lathered with aioli - practically dripping with it. This boosted the overall flavor so much, especially because this aioli was addictingly good. In my experience, the amount of sauce has been directly proportional to how much I enjoyed a sandwich, and when the sauce is this good - it's even on the top of the bun! - i absolutely loved it Somehow the lettuce stayed crunchy despite all the otherwise wetness going on in the sandwich. Props for that The jalapenos were great as well for that extra bit of spicy - I would've loved to have more of them while the bread was toasted well, the one downside was i thought it was pretty hard and tough, which made chewing kind of difficult. I found my jaw to be pretty tired at the end after eating this. I would've much preferred a softer roll that's easier to bite into I've had similar sandwiches from Paseo and Bongos, and in my opinion this does edge out both of those Comparing to Paseo, the sandwich there has way more oil, making it more sloppy and I do like the bread there a lot better, but the pork feels richer and better marinated here (although less fatty), and the onions are definitely caramelized better here as well. Bongos has a pretty similar level of pork with more, but onions are definitely a step down What moves this place above those two for me is the amount of aioli used here far exceeds those other places, which just makes the overall eating experience better For the price (about 14 dollars) this is a really filling meal

I have tried the nachos version of it before as well, and that's equally delicious. The key is definitely that succulent roasted pork.
