In a little strip mall attached to the Best Buy is a busy Asian market. You pop through the sliding door and down a long hallway of food stands and in the very back is the bahn mi station. A simple digital menu shows options available and I was thrilled to see a tofu option for my vegetarian spouse The sandwich was the star with fresh ingredients, really tasty bread, well packaged and not overly messy. The peanut sauce had flavor but more watery and thin than I would have liked. And the spring roll was not vegetarian and there was not a vegetarian option. I don't have any photography from this location, but it's easy to find and they will accept call ahead orders. We bought some Banh mi to-go to take on our flight home the next day. The sandwiches held up find for eating the next day. The banh mi itself had a good amount of meats and pickles vegetables. The sandwich shop is inside a store and next to a few other food station vendors. I didn't see any seats or table, but it's a good place for takeout. I ordered a combo banh mi sandwich. It was alight. Also I ordered a cafe sua (Vietnamese Coffee), I saw with my own eyes that she pour some with Coffee Mate Vanilla. Traditional Vietnamese coffee uses condense milk as a sweetener. Not this place for some reasons. I let one of workers know that I have Vietnamese coffee before in many different places and it doesn't tastes like her place. I was being polite and didn't ask for a refund. My mom and I were just at Lam's Seafood Market and i've been craving for a banh mi for awhile so we stopped at their little food court and tried this place. Service is as expected. They were friendly and took my order without issue. I still feel a certain way about tipping somewhere when it's take out only but I still did. One large grilled pork belly banh mi. Came out and I started to walk away and thought "this is smaller than a 6in subway" so I turned and asked if it was a large. The woman who made it asked if I ordered a large and took the banh mi and checked her POS to make sure I did order a large. Apologized and remade my banh mi. Took it home and ate it for dinner (I didn't have lunch) and to my surprise, it was chicken. I don't like chicken. But they were closed and even if they were open, I wouldn't bother going back to have it changed. But I also don't think I'll order from them again. They make what I would call mini banh mi sandwiches (sorry if "sandwich" is already in the term and that is redundant to add). We've gotten them a couple of times. I always get the tofu version. I wanted a tofu banh mi so I looked around the area. It was weird because the menu that other yelpers have posted doesn't have tofu, so I called to double check and they do! It's located in the same area as Lam's seafood. You can get a small ($4.99) or a large size (6.99). The default is large so make sure you specify what size you want. I got the small tofu ---- the small is like maybe 3/4 the size of a regular banh mi and very light. my gripe is their tofu. Omg it's an embarrassment of a tofu. Flavor was good but my mini chicken sandwich was incredibly salty by the end and the pickled veggies could have been more sour. Overall though it was decent and satisfied the craving. The small size sandwich is very small -just a snack(like half a regular sandwich) and that was perfect for what I wanted, but it wasn't a great value considering for the same price $elsewhere you can get a regular sized sandwich. They sell bags of their rolls, which are nice and soft with good crispy crust. It would've been nice if they made the mini pancakes to order but hopefully it'll taste good Update. I was messaged by the business that the mini pancakes are actually 'made to order' but I know when I bought it the packaging did not feel hot or warm when something is actually 'made to order'. Thus the product is actually ready-made or mass produced. I just want to clarify. Either way I'll still eat it cuz I love this dish :) Ok 2nd Update. I just opened the banh knot packaging and I noticed that the shrimp had the shell still on. When the shell is still on it usually implies that the shrimp isn't cleaned and the poo is still inside....and ofcourse, all the banh knot had shrimp (poo included) on top. What a bummer. We just arrived in the area and were looking for something to split and hold us off until dinner time. We found this spot inside Lam's market. We shared the pork banh mi with everything on it. The veggies were fresh and crispy and paired well with the crisp bread and tender pork. It was definitely a good bite to hold us over, even though we could go back and order each our own sandwich. It was pretty fast from the time we ordered to when we received the sandwich and the customer service was friendly. I wanted to experience this place for myself to justify the mixed reviews I've seen. First off, the place seems really clean and they always have a person up front to assist customers. The gal was a bit timid and spoke very soft, but was very helpful and knowledgeable. I guess there's 2 sizes for the banh mi, reg or large. They do ask if you want the bread toasted first. Reasonable price for banh mi, However I ordered the grilled chicken and the chicken was extra salty tasting so I think it was cooked with too much salt, also I think the sandwich needed the whole jalapeño with the seeds because it wasn't spicy enough. In both sandwiches I got they didn't have enough vegetables. Overall the sandwich was good but I would have enjoyed it more with these two changes. Also, the sandwich wasn't cut in half - not a big deal but I just cut it at home but if I wasn't at home it would be difficult. Ube Waffle with Vanilla Ice cream - you have the option to add toppings or syrup too, but the waffle was perfect with just ice cream. Standing there kind of felt like a Subway for banh mis - you choose your meat option, pick your size loaf (small or large) and watch them prepare and bag it rather than someone making it in the back and bringing it out. I think the paper bag is a great touch and makes it easier for those who like to eat on the go, compared to parchment and rubber bands. The veggies were fresh and crunchy however, the meat was ok; I've had better but it wasn't bad either. This place caught my eye as I was craving banh mi/Vietnamese food. I got a banh mi (unpictured) and a shrimp bread bite. They offer two different sizes for banh mi (short and long) only separated by a dollar-ish. Service was good and the banh mi came out fast, but the food itself suffered a bit. There are tables at the side where you can conveniently sit down and eat; this restaurant is located in a food mall/grocery store. Price wise, there are cheaper banh mi restaurants out there. 3/5, Small Pork Banh Mi: the ingredients were good, the pickled vegetables were sweet and had a nice crunch. The pork (not BBQ) was juicy and paired well with the pickled vegetables. Unfortunately, the baguette was objectively not good. All the baguettes are out on racks and they've become a bit stale. The bread is porous and when you take a bit it's crumbs for days. I was sweeping up crumbs off the table vigorously. You can ask to heat up the banh mi but that might make it more flaky. 3.5/5, Shrimp Bread: a small piece of baguette topped generously with shrimp. I liked this! Unfortunately they used the same bread as the banh mi and it's the same as the aforementioned. If you're looking for banh mi, I'd recommend going to ID or another banh mi place as there are cheaper, better quality banh mi out there. Would you miss out if you tried this place? If I'm being honest, the sandwiches are not great. I ordered a large combination and in my opinion, it was plain and lacking a lot of flavor. I almost ordered the pork belly sandwich, but luckily I asked the lady if it comes with pate and she stated that only the combination sandwich comes with it. However, even with all the toppings and condiments it didn't taste like an authentic Banh Mi due to the lack of flavor. I could see the pate in the sandwich but I couldn't taste it, I suppose maybe because there wasn't much in there.
