These are actually my favorite mochi donuts since they're actually pretty chewy and the flavoring profile for most of their flavors aren't overly sweet and taste good. I'm happy that their quality hasn't changed too much since I first had them in Chinatown during the peak of the pandemic in 2020, and this is coming from me also trying Mochinut (several locations) in conjunction with Dochi until now to say that I prefer Dochi. For the full dozen donuts I got (which I forgot the flavors of most that I got in my photo), matcha oreo and taro pebbles are usually my go-to flavors when they're around. Not your traditional donut at all. But Hands down this is my favorite mochi donut in the area. The donut itself actually has some texture and it's not all soft. The way they fry their donuts give a nice outer crust to the donut & the inside is soft and slightly chewy providing the perfect bite. The toppings are not overly sweet either. Was craving donuts so found this place via yelp I believe. It is located inside Lam's Seafood where their little food court is. They share a counter with the Poke restaurant. If you love mochi, you will love these donuts. They usually have 5-6 different flavors and you can get a single donut, 1/2 dozen or full dozen. Dochi has been on my hit list for a while and finally made it to sample their mochi donuts. I've had these types of donuts in Hawaii and was always a fan. I have to say these donuts are definitely delicious. Slightly crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle. The Oreo Dream was my favorite..and the Matcha Oreo...didn't think it would go well together, but was surprisingly good!! Least favorite of the bunch was the Ube Glazed. It was too plain without enough glaze. Instead of drizzling the glaze, they should have dipped the top of the donut like the other ones. You're better off getting the Unicorn which has the same ube donut base but with much more frosting and toppings. The box these donuts came in was super premium, but I'd rather them save on the packaging to bring their price point down a bit. $15 for 6 donuts is pricey, but it's worth getting as a treat occasionally. read more

In all honesty, I would give this place a 4 star because for being my first experience trying one of these trendy doughnuts, it's pretty pricey. So we found Lam's market with this gem inside. We wanted to bring our family some treats for having us over this weekend. We got a half dozen, one of each flavor. Wow - after a year-long break from eating out and take-away food due to COVID, we are finally venturing out again. Finally made it to Dochi last weekend. We hit the one in Southcenter, in Lam's Seafood food court. They sell 6 flavors a day, so got 2 of each flavor. Box of 12 cost $28 - a bit pricy I think, but o.k. price for the novelty of it. You also end up with a nice box, which looks like it must be cost several $ alone. Anyway, we found the dochi itself to have a wonderfully pleasing feel in our mouths; like a raised doughnut, but more springy/chewy - my wife, son and I really liked them. Taste-wise, the plain dough itself tastes like a richer raised doughnut. We also tried the ube (purple yam) dough ones - we cared for these less, as they were not as fluffy as the regular ones. They vary the icing and toppings they put on them. We cut them up and tried them all. Ours had macha and pistachios (my wife's fav), chocolate and peanuts (my fav), fruity pebbles, crushed Oreos (our son's fav), and cocoanut (on the ube ones, and my fav of the 2 ube styles). I can't believe I'm giving them a 3 stars but here I am. Dochi makes mochi donuts, in the shape of a teething ring. They sell flavors that are a mix of Asian ones like ube and matcha and Americanized ones like chocolate and churro. It's not cheap, about $3 each depending on how many you buy. Food: It's great if eaten immediately. 5 stars We bought 6 and ate two immediately. There's a light bit of crunch from the frying and that excellent yield from the mochi texture. If eaten after a few hours - 2 stars, maybe 1 star By the time we ate the others, about 4 to 5 hours later, it was mushy, and we can't pickup the entire ring anymore without it falling apart. It was borderline disgusting. We chose the flavors of matcha, taro, and strawberry Pocky. Matcha has the most distinctive flavor. The others were "okay", not good or great. The texture of the mochi dough was way softer than I remember it being from the first time I had it, which tasted much better. The cookies and cream one was solid, as it was drizzled with cookie butter and had cookies and cream icing and Oreo crumbs on it. I also was pleasantly surprised that I liked the ube icing with the fruity pebbles since I am not a huge fan of cereal.
