I love to support local. Got a cinnamon donut but was very surprised that it was 3.50. I'll gladly drive 25 miles to Pao's in Tacoma where theirs are 1.50 and specialty donuts are $2. That said, always a nice atmosphere, very clean and people very friendly. read more

So happy a location opened up closer to home. They are the perfect midweek sweet treat. The place is clean and new. In a small strip mall with dollar tree and couple other restaurants around. There's free Wi-Fi so you're able to grab a coffee and work. I grabbed a couple of my bf and I favorite donuts to try. It is a sweeeeeet treat. The twisted and maple bar donut were so fluffy and the dough has a nice flavor to it. As for the cake donut, it was a chef's kiss. The glaze nicely coated the donut and the crispy outside added the best texture. read more

The donuts itself are good and simple, just like a good donut should be. Always get the maple bacon and it's good. However, the service has been a bit rough both times I've gone. The employee has headphones in, watching something on their phone and is repeatedly asking me "what" because they can't hear what I'm saying. I don't mind them having AirPods/headphones in but when I have to start repeating myself because of that it can be annoying. It doesn't always feel welcoming either when their attention is focused on something other than the customer. Shop is small and simple. read more

The Bacon Maple Bar puts Voodoo Donuts to shame. It's a truly excellent pastry, covered in a truly excellent frosting, and finished with a pile of neatly chopped thick bacon (not too crispy, not too fatty). Soooo good! read more

I saw this place on my fb community page and I live near there so my husband and I went to try and support the local. And tell me tell you I Love it. The donuts is so fresh and soft. The sweetness is perfect! Not over sweet like most donut place. It's the perfect amount where you don't get sick off of 1 donut. And let's not forget about their sausage bun man oh man it's really good. It's not no cheap hotdog bun it's really quality sausage. My favorite is the spicy one. It was so good I went back after 2 days and got 6 spicy sausage bun. And another half dozen of donuts. This is my go to spot for donuts from now on. Great Donuts in Des Moines! Very light and fluffy texture with a sweet but light glaze. If you're in Des Moines it's a must try! I got the assorted donuts and the staff gave me excellent suggestions for the donuts. Quaint spot in the heart of Des Moines and right next to the marina if you want to enjoy your donuts with a view. No stars. Just ordered on door dash and asked politely if they would not give me powdered or sprinkled sugar donuts in assorted mix and they sent me 2. They have all kinds of donuts and they couldn't fulfill this simple request. Horrible customer service!! read more

I've been waiting for this Donut shop for a long time now and finally they are open now! I've been going to their other location for quite some time now and we are so glad they are finally here! The owners are so kind and really go out of their way to make sure that you are happy just like the sign says! I highly recommend this place for anyone who has to have their donut and drink, or any other occasion! There is plenty of parking and it's kid friendly too! read more

Happy Donuts 2 is a family business and they not only have some of the best donuts we have ever tasted but also a wonderful family atmosphere right in the heart of Des Moines. Wow, these are great donuts!! Light, fluffy, tasty (cant taste the oil). Very friendly service. My wife is from New York and we've searched high and low for the best donuts of Seattle. I used to have to go to Tacoma to satisfy her donut craving, but this place changes all that. It's her birthday so I did a side by side taste test to guarantee no disappointment . Friday Sept. 29, 2023 10am First off, let me just say I'm a donut snob, I just love donuts, my Dad had a donut shop when he was alive and I know and can taste a good donut when I come across one ... I judge my donut of their Jelly filled donut, not to much, not to little, its got to have the right ratio to pass my test... You can taste the freshness of the oil, I judge on the quality and most of all, did I did a decent donut for my money... How was the customer service, how was the selection, the cleanliness of the shop, this is how I judge my donut... Overall, 4 out of 5 stars, it wasn't the perfect jelly donut, a little little on the filling... The other donuts, were good, lots of basic donuts, nothing stood out, like having a signature donut, one that says, YES I GOT IT FROM HAPPY DONUTS... It was like any other donut shop, location it should be fine, the only issue I see is parking, just feels like it was crowded on this end of the parking lot, so it might detour people but who doesn't need the little exercise to work off one of those donuts... Anyway, definitely check them out, I know your going to enjoy that donut with that hot cup of coffee, be safe and enjoy read more

The donuts here are extremely yummy along side with the customer service being really good leaving me with a great first impression. Definitely recommend to anyone who loves donuts they just do it right. I will say a personal opinion they have the best Boston cream donuts I have had in Washington definitely a worthy competitor for big donut names in terms of taste. read more

At every donut shop I visit, I order a plain. Every place should get the classic right, so I was happy Legendary passed the test. It was not stellar but it checked the boxes. My second doughnut was one of the fancies, heavy on chocolate and "inspired by" Girl Scout thin mint cookies. It was a treat, literally. The doughnut itself was very good and the cookie was fairly accurate. Where this one went wrong was the frosting. It had a hint of mintiness but should have had more, but its downfall was the texture. An odd greasiness was off-putting on its own and was only partially disguised when munched with the donut proper. Still, I had no problem gradually plowing through the entire concoction. Knowing now that Legendary Doughnuts has multiple locations, I will gladly drop by any of them for another try. On the other hand, I wouldn't go out of my way just to patronize them. Time--and geography--will determine whether this relationship should continue.

It probably just comes down to what this restaurant does well vs. what they're trying to do to accommodate everyone. Six people ordered breakfast, one person ordered a sandwich, and I ordered the Yummy Bowl because it was one of two vegan options on the lunch menu (nothing vegan on the breakfast menu). It was really bad. The flavor and texture were yucky. Nothing was seasoned except the "yummy sauce," which had the strangest flavor. It just didn't taste good. I was grateful I got a side of fries, which were excellent. I'm sure they're trying to accommodate vegans, but there is still some work to do there so the food tastes good and isn't just put together to say there is a vegan option on the menu. Everyone else loved their food. It's a nostalgic place for all of them, too, so that adds to their experience. They sat us in a room with a door, and that was lovely because it gave us some privacy and toned down the noise. For me, that was the best part of our brunch outing. We stopped by the bakery before leaving, and my husband loaded up on his favorites, and I got a loaf of San Francisco sourdough (which I ate a bit of the next day, and it was delicious). I haven't been here in years, and I probably won't be back for a while, but I will return because it's a family favorite. Maybe I'll just stick with fries and some toast next time!

Two, the lady in front of me literally says I'm holding 10 cookies and the woman starts putting them in individual baggies instead of a box. Did we run out of boxes? There there were two of them and they seemed to care more about the tip jar than anything else? The girl came back saw a massive line and just disappeared. I walked out....

I really enjoy this spot and it feels like a bakery breakfast spot I used to work at when I was in my early 20s. It's definitely not a trendy spot, but clean and maintained. Both times I went with family and could enjoy a relaxing chat without feeling rushed or urgency to leave since the location isn't super busy. At some point I'll probably try something besides the blintzes, but maybe not since they're really enjoyable.
