Got a dozen doughnuts from this place - but I had four of them The four that I had were Bavarian Cream, Maple Bar, Lemon Curd, and Chocolate Sprinkles What I loved the most on these donuts were how soft and fluffy they were on the inside I've had donuts where they've been super dense - and I like that as well - but it's just a unique experience to bite into a donut and get this airy feeling which makes the bite super easy and satisfying it just felt like you were biting clean through the overall doughnut The part that I didn't like as much was the taste of the frosting There weren't a lot of topping options, and I found that these donuts were a bit lacking in the sweetness category The base was really good in pretty much all of them - but I've had better frosting at other places If I had to rank the donuts I tried, I would go Lemon Curd, Bavarian Creme, Chocolate Sprinkle, Maple bar The reason the Lemon Curd was the best wasn't due to the Lemon filling - which was ok - but due to the glazed sugar coating all over the top of the donut - it was the only donut of the ones that I tried that had this. This made the overall donut taste super sweet and gave it a ton of sugary flavor for each bite The Bavarian Creme had a nice chocolate flavor, but like the Lemon Curd, I didn't think the filling was sweet enough The sprinkles were good as a topping on the chocolate sprinkles - but aside from that it wasn't amazing The Maple Bar was about average - nothing special the price ended up being roughly 2 dollars per donut - which was pretty decent. these were average sized donuts I will say each donut is not very filling, due to the airy nature, which could be either a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you want read more

It's perfectly fluffy, not overly sweet and sugar coated, and the perfect size (much bigger than Krispy kreme for reference) with coffee, tea, or milk. Also just very reasonably priced. Tried out King donuts which seems to have moved locations, surprisingly tasty bites for sure. Very cute interior with lots of seating. The employees are super friendly and helpful. Ordered a half dozen and some donut holes. We ate them pretty quick, no donut hole left behind! They have coffee and other drink options along with merch for their store. Love the fluffy donuts here, been coming to the business for years at their prior location too! I couldn't find a cake for my daughter early in the morning so I decided to do a donut cake, it was perfect to come here since they open at 7am! I got the variety I needed and pick up an americano, which BTW was a good flavor of coffee bean! Pricier than average but worth it imo. Wish they made maple bar donut with the holes! It would've been great for my donut cake haha mmmm but I really enjoyed the Mango tajin, ube and pistachio flavors! BTW they don't serve Thai food like the old owners did. If you're in the Rainier Beach area, this spot is a staple! They have a ton of options from yummy donuts and pastries to teriyaki and Pad Thai. I gave this spot a try the other day and it was well worth it! Just keep in mind that they are closed Thursdays and the wait for food is a little long (took 15 mins for my order). I ordered the chicken Pad Thai with 5 star spice. The main thing I noticed was it was the Pad Thai was not spicy at all. I literally did not taste a speck of spice. Thai foods are known for their spicy flavor, and so the 5 star being not spicy at all really disappointed me. Chicken tasted good and and the noodles were decent but overall it was still good. I also like the portion size! It was huge and so that means leftovers for tomorrow! I believe the restaurant is a family owned restaurant, and the young man who took my order was very friendly! I always appreciate family owned restaurants with good service. I really recommend this place if you're in the Rainier Beach area. Good pricing and great portion size, I'll definitely be back!
