I'm on the hunt to find a good donut shop and this place is sooooo gooood omggg!!!! Fresh,soft, and varieties!! Not overly sweet at that. I feel like if a donut shop can't get a glaze right the rest will be trash. My teeth sank into my glaze and I just knew... this place has to be to 5!!! The service is great too. The donuts are good. However, my delivery order through an app service was canceled 5 times over different occasions. They shouldn't be on that platform if they can't provide the service. I've never had issues with them outside of this. Their product is only good to pick up in person, don't order any other way. read more

The kids were craving donuts and gave this place a solid 4/5. I couldn't eat any myself, unfortunately. The inside was what you'd expect.. a typical donut shop vibes with a worn-down look and a window full of donuts. Service wasn't bad; the lady was on the phone the whole time, so not exactly friendly, but she got the job done. All in all, a pretty decent experience. read more

It was long line when I first show up around 6am, but it went quickly. The owner is very nice and gave me extra since I bought a dozen of deluxe donuts and lot of mini donut holes. It is nice and quiet. Highly recommend to family n friends. It is tasty and fresh donut!! : ) read more

Decided to stop by after a dental appointment around 8am and I'm so glad I did. The cases were nice and full and you could tell they were made fresh. I was greeted as soon as I got in and the lady at the counter was nice and patient. I didnt feel rushed and she answered all my questions. I'm the type of person that likes a pillowy soft yeasty donut. These donuts were everything I was hoping for and more. So far I've only had the original glaze but if this is the bar for simple donut I can't imagine how much more delicious my other donuts will be. I'm glad we stopped by this little gem. Definitely gonna be a staple now. read more

i love Donut Star. Their doughnuts are made fresh daily! I have only ordered doughnuts from there for delivery, and, each time I received an adorable pink, white & yellow box of fresh doughnuts with: You Deserve A Donut, on the top of the box! It's the cutest packaging! I always smile when I am about to grab a donut & in my mind I say, "thank yo!" I have seen the building many times. It's simple. It's local. And, if you wanted to relax for a little while there are tables & chairs. But, it's not "The Full Experience," like Krispy Kreme or Voo Doo Doughnuts in Portland, Oregon. However, it is still a wonderful place for doughnut lovers. I agree with many other people: their doughnuts are not overly sweet. And, their prices are fair. One thing that Donut Star could work on, though, is consistency with their hours. There were times when I wanted to place an order with them & they were closed, but, their hours of operation showed them as open. I appreciate their kindness & willingness to reach out to me when an item wasn't available at the time. A couple of weeks ago I placed an order for half a dozen donuts! They were completely out of the chocolate glazed donuts with rainbow sprinkles & the manager called me & asked if I would like a different kind instead. Most restaurants would have given me a refund. So, that was extremely kind of her. I will be visiting them again soon & I will share with you my experiences from my personal visit. This little family owned and operated donut shop does donuts right. These folks don't do weird combinations or enormous candy stuffed confections. They make donuts. That's it. The offerings are simple. Rings and bars and twists. There are both cake and yeast varieties available. Light and airy and sweet and gooey. And they are amazing. read more

We only go a few times a year but since we've been going for almost a decade I wanted to give them some love. This place is dated but it adds to the charm; who wants a modern interior while shame-eating glutinous delights?! Not me. Their goods are delicious but if I'm being honest, and I am, they could really do themselves (and the general auburn-area donut enthusiast public) a favor by MAKING SOME MORE LEMON FILLED DONUTS...come on. You're always out because they always sell, let's not he stingy with the quantity...they're out literally EVERY TIME. I dropped by this morning (I go about once every 2 months), and the owner is very nice. She chatted with me for a little while and she said they had been there for 22 years. Wow! As far as the product goes, the doughnuts are very light and fresh (much better than Voodoo doughnuts in Portland) and relatively cheap. They also don't skimp on the maple frosting, which some doughnut places do (e.g. Safeway doughnuts). Suggestion: If they have the bacon-crusted maple bar, GET IT. It's incredible. read more

The best donuts in auburn and the surrounding south king county area. Mmm, maple bacon bar, light and fluffy French crullers, Boston cremes, apple fritters, they have them all and hey are always fresh but you better get there early as they sell out often by noon. Super friendly girl behind the counter who seems to know everyone who comes in. Always has a smile on her face. Goes out of her way to please. She makes a special custard filled maple bar for me each time I am there. Give it a try, it's delicious! read more

We've been going to donut star for over 22 Years. The original owner was great. When the new owners took over the quality of the donuts stayed the same. The donuts are always fresh and big ,they have really good prices. You need to go early on the weekends. My husbands favorite donut is the apple fritters and cinnamon rolls. You always get good customer service. read more

So disappointing. I'm a long-time resident around here and used to love this place. It changed hands a couple of years ago and it has really gone downhill. The donuts used to fresh daily but today I found they were just not as advertised. Even though I was told by the employee there that they were fresh, I could tell they were a day old, maybe 2 days old. Had to heat them in the microwave to eat. This place used to be the best donuts in western Washington but sadly not anymore. On top of that, it seems they changed the recipe a bit. Something's missing like there is not enough salt. read more

I was really hoping to enjoy this place. I purchased two donuts, a chocolate bar and a chocolate frosted cake. They were just OK. The chocolate bar tasted like sour oil, and the chocolate cake I had very little to rave about. Frosting tasted very chemical-like. Have been driving by this place for years but it is usually closed for the day when I drive by. Was driving home from Nana's early in the morning and decided we needed donuts for breakfast. I got my usual crueller (really good - not to wet but to much icing). Then I got everybody else (including myself) a bacon maple bar. The bar itself was very good - the frosting was good but to thick however the bacon was disgusting it was like soy bacon bits.................... Desperately donut deprived, 42 minutes till closing, and excessively hoping they still had some donuts left. Walked in a little after 1:20, no other customers, and a few trays of donuts left. Yesss! We had a very late breakfast today so we decided to skip lunch, and opt out for donuts instead. With it being so close to closing time, I wasn't really expecting much left besides the classic donut holes, yes they were there, but so were a few other options as well. A variety of cake donuts, Apple fritters, I believe some Boston creme donuts, and some other type of donut I'm not familiar with. We left with the usual donut holes, 3 chocolate cake donuts (pic included), 1 double chocolate cake donut, and 1 Apple fritter. Double chocolate cake donut stood no chance and didn't last a minute after we got into the car, my daughter literally inhaled it lol. I gobbled up the chocolate dipped cake donut and thought it was delish! The donut itself had tasty, dense, crisp texture to it, while the chocolate glaze on top gave it that perfect dash of sweetness to go along with all that dough. My other half ate his Apple fritter right up as well and asked if there were more for later. So that's how I know he liked it too. I'm sure we'll be back (earlier) to try their other donuts, and because Safeway donuts just do not appeal to me anymore when there's so many small/local businesses out here in Evergreen state to venture out to! read more

This is a fantastic diamond in the rough! Every time I have gone in the service has been warm and friendly. Everything has been fresh and delicious! I think I confuse sometimes when I ask for an assortment and do not follow up with directions on what the assortment should include. I ordered about 8 doughnuts and I got them placed in a small box stacked on top of each other with no wax paper between them. When I got home all the doughnuts had to be pulled apart and the frosting was stuck on the bottoms of the top doughnuts.. was not very appetizing! I also wanted to get a assorted box of 6 small cupcake sized doughnuts as presented at the cash register and the worker said "you have to order those". She did not offer alternative. We also wanted a chicken sandwich as shown on the menu at this location. The employee just said "we don't make those" When I told her it was on their menu she said that other locations make the chicken sandwich but not them...not sure why then it was still on their menu. She saw me looking at the specialty drinks available on the wall and she pointed out that they were out of the mix for the Red Bull Strawberry one. I saw there was another one with a different Red Bull combination mix and I asked about that one and she said rudely "as I said we are out of that mix". I then pointed out that I was looking at the other drink and she quickly responded "oh yeah we have that one".

If you're looking for the largest, freshest, most dense sugar donut then look no further and head…read moreover to a little pop-up tent/stand at the Mexican outdoor market in the parking lot, next to the Auburn Supermall. The churros are also really yummy, but the donut is next level! They don't have any other donuts and we didn't try any other desserts, but I'm sure they're just as fresh and tasty. It looks like they prefer cash, but they did accept a card as well.
