My motto still holds up......The Center of a Donut is 100% fat free.... Yup, Ima keep on believing that I just need to eat til I get to the center and I'm fat free!!! Pastries, Donuts, a big weakness of mine, along with milkshakes, soft serve.....Taking a trek from Bellevue to Puyallup is not a short journey especially with highways always under construction/blocked/closed creating nightmare traffic. I am glad to report Happy Donuts made the journey worth it! Like so many other reviews, I agree, fresh, fluffy, delicious. A wonderful storefront, nice decor, and attentive staff. It an easy 5 star, well worth the drive from Bellevue. Just glad its not near me otherwise it would be at minimum an every other day visit, even if the center is fat free, I need to always watch my figure. NOTE: I don't believe this is the same Happy Donuts in Kent or Des Moines? So to be very CLEAR I am talking about the Happy Donuts in Puyallup.

We were excited to try these donuts based off my Daughter's recommendation. These did not disappoint. They are very fresh & good . They had a good selection & we went later in the day .We tried the maple bar & chocolate donut . Prices are good . They are super friendly . Yummy !

This place has the BEST donuts! They always have a bit of a crowd but it's worth the short wait for them. They are fluffy, fresh and delicious. The shop is small and cute with a counter full of all kinds of tasty donuts. If you're looking for really fantastic donuts you have to try Happy Donuts!

We arrived late in the morning so the donut selection was minimal. Only cake style donuts left. Which is fine, because I like this style. Excellent for dipping in coffee. Even a couple of days later. We selected 2 couple each: plain, chocolate and vanilla frosted and sugar covered varieties plus two apple fritters. There were a fair amount of apple fritters available. They also had cake style in peanut topped and coconut topped still available. There is a good sized parking lot with several spaces behind the building. Inside there are a few tables for enjoying your donut and beverage. They serve coffee drinks and have a cooler for cold beverages. Even at our late arrival time there was a small line with four staff members manning the counter. Staff were polite and efficient and the guest area tidy and clean.

They were open at 2:50pm but they had no donuts at all. Sad. Not happy. Sure, it was late for a donut shop but flashing neon OPEN signs? Really?

Miss all the donuts shops that lined almost every neighborhood in SoCal. Seeing and eating at this place brings me home. It's next to the KFC and has a decent amount of parking. I felt very safe coming here midday and the store was clean and nice (I mention this because I went to another donut shop in Tacoma before which was very good too but kinda sketch or what one might say has "character" lol). Greeted immediately upon entry by cheery nice workers. I got a raised, cake, and old fashioned donut to try the selection of donut styles, plus a ham and cheese croissant. The sugar raised and cake donut tasted not too sweet (a positive in my book) and seemed fresh, meaning a little crispy on the outside, but moist and fluffy or creamy on the inside). However, the winner today was the old fashioned (my husband ate it all before I could take a photo). The old fashioned was very good, even with no icing it was delectable - perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy and flavorful on the inside. Outside the donut world, the ham and cheese croissant hit a home run. A good amount of ham, a little cheese, and a very nicely flaky, buttery but not too moist croissant outer. Prices are pretty good. Just under $5 for the savory croissant and a little over $1 for the donuts. I really want to come back to try their cinnamon rolls, scones, and boba, which all are decently priced too. Other notes: they take credit card, there are a few seats along the glass wall, and you can call in your order for pickup.

Maple bars are spongy and soft and delicious.

There's ample parking that's paved or across the street on gravel. The food looked amazing in photos, but I wouldn't say it was as good as it looked or sounded in descriptions. It was generally very tasty, but everything felt like it was missing just one ingredient that would make it better. It could be that I'm just more used to ethnic flavors and these were just not quite hitting the mark. For example the stratciatella was good, but if the whipped ricotta was a little more fluffy and there was some extra black pepper or lemon added it would have been perfect. The pork belly was a little dry and not worth the price for just three pieces. The thick cut truffle fries were very good however. We also tried the bucatini and it was nice but still I wanted a little more kick. It has spice but just needs a little something to punch it up. The steak sandwich two of the three of us sharing a meal loved and I'd say was the best thing we ate. The service staff was kind, considerate and gave us time and made sure our drinks were filled. There are still a lot of dishes I'd like to try and since I loved the area, it would be worth coming back again.

We joined the online waitlist at 1:00 PM on a Sunday. While we were seated fairly quickly, we still had to wait in a long line just to speak with the host to check in. The restaurant was completely packed well past 2:00 PM. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill once we sat down. It took forever just to place our order. Our chowder arrived about 10 minutes later, but it tasted like it came straight out of a can, and the accompanying dinner roll was completely flavorless and factory-made. Since we were hungry, we ate it quickly anyway. It took 45 minutes for our entrees--a Country Fried Steak and a California Benedict--to arrive. By 3:00 PM, we were famished, which made it all the more disappointing to discover our food was cold, soggy, and hard. The cubed fries, scrambled eggs, and English muffin tasted like they had been sitting on a counter for 20 minutes before being brought to our table. For a restaurant advertising a "farm-to-table" concept, the eggs, salad, croutons, and muffin felt entirely mass-produced. The service was equally disappointing; our server never returned to refill our water. While the atmosphere is nice and the space is large enough to fit over 100 people, they seemed severely understaffed. The host stand was backed up, it took too long to order, and the kitchen was clearly overwhelmed. For $23 a plate, I expect significantly better quality in both the food and the service.
