My motto still holds up......The Center of a Donut is 100% fat free.... Yup, Ima keep on believing that I just need to eat til I get to the center and I'm fat free!!! Pastries, Donuts, a big weakness of mine, along with milkshakes, soft serve.....Taking a trek from Bellevue to Puyallup is not a short journey especially with highways always under construction/blocked/closed creating nightmare traffic. We arrived late in the morning so the donut selection was minimal. Only cake style donuts left. Which is fine, because I like this style. Excellent for dipping in coffee. Even a couple of days later. We selected 2 couple each: plain, chocolate and vanilla frosted and sugar covered varieties plus two apple fritters. There were a fair amount of apple fritters available. They also had cake style in peanut topped and coconut topped still available. There is a good sized parking lot with several spaces behind the building. Inside there are a few tables for enjoying your donut and beverage. They serve coffee drinks and have a cooler for cold beverages. Even at our late arrival time there was a small line with four staff members manning the counter. Staff were polite and efficient and the guest area tidy and clean. read more

Miss all the donuts shops that lined almost every neighborhood in SoCal. Seeing and eating at this place brings me home. It's next to the KFC and has a decent amount of parking. I felt very safe coming here midday and the store was clean and nice (I mention this because I went to another donut shop in Tacoma before which was very good too but kinda sketch or what one might say has "character" lol). Greeted immediately upon entry by cheery nice workers. I got a raised, cake, and old fashioned donut to try the selection of donut styles, plus a ham and cheese croissant. The sugar raised and cake donut tasted not too sweet (a positive in my book) and seemed fresh, meaning a little crispy on the outside, but moist and fluffy or creamy on the inside). However, the winner today was the old fashioned (my husband ate it all before I could take a photo). The old fashioned was very good, even with no icing it was delectable - perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy and flavorful on the inside. Outside the donut world, the ham and cheese croissant hit a home run. A good amount of ham, a little cheese, and a very nicely flaky, buttery but not too moist croissant outer. Prices are pretty good. Just under $5 for the savory croissant and a little over $1 for the donuts. I really want to come back to try their cinnamon rolls, scones, and boba, which all are decently priced too. We had to come back again during our trip because we craved their donuts! The prices are very reasonable for what you get. They had a large selection available both times we came and the donuts are so fresh. We tried their maple bars and Boston cream pie donut. The maple bars were so soft and spongy, and the maple flavoring is delicious. The Boston cream pie donut was also soft and had plenty of cream on the inside. The chocolate on the outside wasn't super rich like some Boston cream pie donuts can be, it was so good. Happy Donuts is a beloved Puyallup gem for donuts. It's been around for years, since I was a kid, and I'm so glad to see the business still going strong. Service is quick and kind. When we arrived, there was a line outside of the store but the wait didn't last long. Ambiance aligns with what you'd picture going into a donut shop. First stop in Puyallup was to check out Happy Donuts. They're located across from a KFC branch. Can't believe this place opens everyday at 4:00am. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon (around 11:15am). Service is friendly but I wish they labelled their donuts in the display cases. Donut prices are $1.05 to $1.46 USD (regular) and $1.89 to $2.39 USD (fancy). They also have some drink options. - 2x Apple fritters ($1.89 USD) - sadly they were out of their blueberry fritter so we had to settle on apple fritters. One of the best fritters we've had in a long time. - Maple buttercream ($1.46 USD) - light cakey texture. Liked the maple frosting on top. - Raspberry filling ($1.46 USD) - filling wasn't too sweet and nicely jammy. - Old fashioned ($1.05 USD) - as you'd expect an old fashioned to be. - Blueberry ($1.05 USD) - again, light cakey texture with a subtle blueberry undertone. - Latte ($3.20 USD for 16oz) - B desperately needed a coffee.
