    Chocolate twist.
    Tanis L.

Adventuring to Connie's Donuts on Wednesday 2 August 2023, I found one vehicle in the strip of gravel parking on the side of the building. I parked my car, went inside and ordered a chocolate twist donut (price was $1.50, I tipped the $0.50 coinage from paying with cash). The worker was friendly and I got my donut quickly. Two other vehicles pulled in after me and were in and out in rapid time as well. I could taste the dough of the twist donut, and the twist pulled apart in a twisted and cooked dough fashion. The chocolate frosting was flavorful and soft. I could not taste the grease/oil and my fingers did not get greasy eating the donut. A flavorful morning treat.

Amazing little donut spot on HWY 7! The cake donut was tasty and the coffee was just right. I usually don't get black coffee from donut shops but I was desperate for caffeine this time, the coffee ended up tasting just right. I paid around 2.50 for one donut and a black coffee.

CW from top-left: buttermilk bar w/ cream, blueberry cake, choc. cake w/ sprinkles, apple fritter, cruller, old fashioned w/ maple

I've tried about 5 specialty donut shops in the greater Tacoma area, and Connie's definitely takes the cake (no pun intended). In addition to being very fresh and tasty, the variety is plentiful and unique. The buttermilk bars w/ cream I haven't seen anywhere else (and the cream actually tasted fresh, not the bag/bottle nonsense most try pass for cream). The apple fritter w/ choc. was also a unique offering, and as a chocolate buff, I really loved that. The French cruller was definitely the highlight, though; the consistency of the dough was spot on, light and fluffy, while not feeling like you're biting into air. Also, the choc. frosting tasted fresh (not canned) and the ratio of frosting to dough was more generous than any I've seen (about 50/50). Will definitely return!

Good donuts. Good service. Can't go wrong with this place. I recommend it to anyone who loves good donuts and coffee too.

THIS is what a donut is supposed to be! Slightest bit of a crunch, lightly glazed, fluffy interior with a bit of a pull! Yummy!!!

I know they do not have regular open hours for just walk in purchase, but rather, they're custom order type business, but I have yet to place any custom orders so I cannot speak to that experience. What made me write this review is how accurate the owner (Brianne) described cake and desserts in the description and the baked goods taste matched 200% of the description. The pistachio cake was out of the world, so was the whoopie pie!!! I got to meet Brianne in person and she was very friendly, and was kind to explain everything about each of her baked goods she had out that day. I've tried their baked goods from pop tarts to cookies to housemade Twinkie and the creation and taste are unmatched. Single serve baked goods were more on pricier side, but well worth every bite. I would definitely order custom baked goods from here, knowing the quality and taste of products from this shop!!! Currently, you can find Spilled Butter baked goods at Cosmonaut coffee, Outer Dark Coffee, and at Tacoma Farmers Market (also known as Tacoma Broadway Farmers Market) from time to time. Enjoy!!!

The service was pretty quick. Ambiance was appealing with many baked items and a very nice aroma that got my Ghrelin levels going! They have many different savory and sweet options. I ordered one of their breakfast sandwiches which came with sausage, muffin, and eggs. OH MY GOD. This was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have tried in a while. Absolutely amazing. I am lucky that I don't live right by this place, otherwise I would spend all of my money here. I also got a sausage quiche which was not bad, but I wish I had tried some of their croissants. The croissants were placed around the corner of where I ordered, so I had not seen them. Had I seen the croissants, I would have ordered them and devoured them. I am definitely coming back to this place and HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

I'm looking forward to returning and trying more goodies soon. There is a comfortable nice place place to enjoy those trats too with seating outside for those nice days. It kind of reminds me of some of those nice little eateries I like to visit in my travels through Europe. I just plain enjoy this place.

So as my go to guide I yelped it! And up popped Kusher Bakery. You know I had to go and today we went there. It's an Eastern European bakery, and grocery store with products from multiple Eastern Europe countries. The selections are very good and then there is the bread baked daily except on Sunday. A bonus is the fact all the fresh baked bread can be sliced for you or you can take it home and slice it yourself. Having this service is great. Dark rye, 12-grain, and others that are....... well too many and all looked delicious. There is fresh baked Lavash, soft and delicious and many of the breads were still warm and fresh. The fresh piroshki! Awesome to say the least, Chicken, Cheese, Cabbage, and Apricot were available and hot. Look you can go to the other market on 70th and get very good stuff and pay quite a lot more, or go to Kusher and get a better selection and pay reasonable prices. Yes it is smaller but bigger is not always better and having this small place is a positive. For me Kusher wins hands down. So go, look around and get some awesome stuff.
