Blueberry Donut Hunt The quest continues for the best blueberry donut. Connie's is a cute little donut house with charm. The shelves were full of scrumptious looking treats but I was here for just one. The blueberry cake donut of course! I also got a raspberry krispie bar for my mom (the bite I took was yummy!) I absolutely felt welcomed and the owner/operator was so sweet! I also loved all the plants! The blueberry cake was light and flavorful. Good amount of blueberry with that magical purple hue inside. The center had a nice surprising crispy middle which means it was fried to perfection. This blueberry donut is a top contender! read more

Family owned and operated small neighborhood donut shop. Cinnamon twist was delicious, kid got a red velvet which was just too cupcake like for me, but...kids. I'd stick with the basics here. Didn't try coffee. read more

Good donuts. Good service. Can't go wrong with this place. I recommend it to anyone who loves good donuts and coffee too.

The food is always great. The customer service is great. They do have a small parking lot which is shared with other businesses that can make it difficult but the ambience not really too much but you can definitely get your needs met. It's a great donuts spot one of the best ones That I know I can always go to and get some good fresh donuts for a reasonable price with a smile. read more

Best donut shop in Tacoma and Washington! Good prices, lots of options, tastes amazing. I recommend the apple fritters!

Adventuring to Connie's Donuts on Wednesday 2 August 2023, I found one vehicle in the strip of gravel parking on the side of the building. I parked my car, went inside and ordered a chocolate twist donut (price was $1.50, I tipped the $0.50 coinage from paying with cash). The worker was friendly and I got my donut quickly. Two other vehicles pulled in after me and were in and out in rapid time as well. I could taste the dough of the twist donut, and the twist pulled apart in a twisted and cooked dough fashion. The chocolate frosting was flavorful and soft. I could not taste the grease/oil and my fingers did not get greasy eating the donut. A flavorful morning treat. read more

This is a great place for those early people on Saturday morning and if don't make it on time. You will have to try dockside.

This is a little doughnut hole in the wall on 43rd and Pacific. You walk in, order your donuts and/or coffee and walk out. You can "dine in" but space is very limited. Their doughnuts are about what you'd expect, but I especially like their apple fritters. They serve a mean cup of coffee too, and the lady who seems to be the only one serving no matter when you visit, is always friendly. I think it's just her and her husband who run the place. Oh, and they have an interesting collection of decorative plants (especially orchids) and other knick-knacks. Check those out if you go there! read more

I'll be real. I don't live too far from Connie's, but just recently became a continuous customer. Not sure what took me so long to come here. The donut selections are vast and satisfying. Service was great! The lady behind the counter was attentive and helpful. Go figure my first time in, I purchase 2 dozen for work. It's a small business with a few chairs and tables around. It's really a community type business and the folks really care about Connie's. There is a small pull-in lot on the side of the store, but the concrete to park there has seen better days, so be mindful if you own a low to the ground car. Otherwise, it's fine for taller vehicles, plus street parking available. read more

Same lady everyday, faithful to the community. Regular returners are funny old boomer men, and they come in daily, and she is kind to them and they are kind to her, and they are kind to each other. Sometimes transgender and gays come in, and the boomers tolerate it. They eat donuts together rather than kill each other. Veterans come in, immigrants too. Everyone keeps coming back for donuts, and it feels like a neighborhood thing. Donuts are on my top three places in Tacoma area, but the actually dine in area is unbeatable. There are plants and good lighting, random toys through out the store, regular donations are given to the poor, and there is advertising of local companies. It's giving coffee shop vibes read more

THIS is what a donut is supposed to be! Slightest bit of a crunch, lightly glazed, fluffy interior with a bit of a pull! Yummy!!!

Amazing little donut spot on HWY 7! The cake donut was tasty and the coffee was just right. I usually don't get black coffee from donut shops but I was desperate for caffeine this time, the coffee ended up tasting just right. I paid around 2.50 for one donut and a black coffee. read more

Donuts so good that it's worth the wait and can't even get a photo of them! They always have great selection of fresh donuts and they make great hazelnut lattes! It's a small shop on Pacific Ave, and totally worth a pitstop before work! Quick and have a good mix of original and different flavors to try from! read more

Great glazed buttermilk bars and in general a solid assortment. Service is fast and friendly.

Walking in the ambiance is an old fashioned bakery. Clean tables with enough seating for 3 small parties. There was a good selection of fresh made donuts even though we got there at close to noon on a Saturday. I got the chocolate cake donut with Chocolate sprinkles, a chocolate glaze old fashioned, a glazed old fashioned, and an apple fritter, as well as a hazelnut latte. Everything was classically delicious! The chocolate cake donut was so chocolately, full of flavor and moist! The Old fashions were traditional and crispy. The apple fritter was the best I have ever had, it was light and fully with plenty of apple pieces inside, a crispy outside shell with the right amount of glaze on top. The latte was hot and creamy and perfect for dipping the apple fritter in! I loved everything I got and was able to take some home for later. Highly recommend this place as your next donut spot. read more

i love this place! i bring anyone visiting from out of town here and they always adore it. it's comforting from the moment you walk in, and the maple apple fritter is insanely delicious. i love connie and the work she does!! read more

Connie's is one of the only places worth going within walking distance of our home. The quality is totally consistent, they have it down to a science there, and they are always friendly and warm with customers. I wish I could speak to the full variety in the case, but we are creatures of habit and always get the same thing, two maple bars (which are so delicious with just the right amount of icing) and two coffees. However, one time we did try an apple turnover and it was fabulous. If you are hungry or need to bring in a treat for coworkers that won't break the bank, this is your destination. read more

I've tried about 5 specialty donut shops in the greater Tacoma area, and Connie's definitely takes the cake (no pun intended). In addition to being very fresh and tasty, the variety is plentiful and unique. The buttermilk bars w/ cream I haven't seen anywhere else (and the cream actually tasted fresh, not the bag/bottle nonsense most try pass for cream). The apple fritter w/ choc. was also a unique offering, and as a chocolate buff, I really loved that. The French cruller was definitely the highlight, though; the consistency of the dough was spot on, light and fluffy, while not feeling like you're biting into air. Also, the choc. frosting tasted fresh (not canned) and the ratio of frosting to dough was more generous than any I've seen (about 50/50). Will definitely return! read more

I was searching through Yelp for a donut shop that sells crullers and Connie's Donuts instantly caught my eye. My boyfriend and I live in Federal Way and wanted to escape quarantine for a bit to go on a donut run. We made the best choice, in my opinion. We called ahead to see if Connie's was actually open during these Covid-19 times and she picked up right away saying, "Yes, yes, just come on in." We arrived around noon. The owner, who I assume was Connie, was very helpful, friendly, and fast. We got a dozen of the variety that was there. Definitely loaded up on the crullers and they did not disappoint. She even threw in an extra donut for us. Thank you!! All the choices we had were delicious. Overall, I believe we made a really good decision with this small donut shop. I hear from a friend that (during normal times) it would get really busy in the mornings and would sell out of fritters, which I will have to try next time. And there will definitely be a next time. Please support your local small businesses during this time. I'm so glad we chose to support this donut shop today, and I suggest you do the same! read more

Connie's is always the best!! Don't bother going anywhere else. Always fresh and delicious. Her twists are my favorite.

The only thing sweeter than the perfect pastries they serve, is the kindness of the person making them! I get the disappointment expressed by some who after driving long distances to try these realizing they are only donuts. But to a local who can walk here, these are the shining star of our neighborhood. The wheel isn't being reinvented nor are culinary experiments being teased out of Michelin starred sojourns. However the simple mom and pops style donut shop is on display every day and hitting every mark each day! Chef's kiss! read more

Come in for a snack, buy a dozen. These are one of the few places, nae, the only place I buy donuts for the next day. They overnight really well. Of course you'll have to lock them up. They carry all the usual, but check the size of the cream filled. Are you a buttermilk bar fan? Try the filled bars. Try it all, nothing to disappoint. Worth the calories. There is not enough that can be said about Connie's donuts to describe how delicious and sensory-overloading these donuts taste and smell. If you are in the greater Seattle-Tacoma-Olympia area and need a donut, go here. First off I feel like I am cheating Connie when I buy a dozen donuts here because it is less than $10, and I am telling you these donuts are the best. The second you walk in the door you can smell that amazing bakery smell and you know you are in donut heaven. I don't have a favorite; all of these donuts are great. If you like cake, crullers, apple fritters, maple bars, buttermilk or glazed Connie has you covered and they will be baked to perfection. I brought my German colleague here on the way to Olympia from Seattle and on the way back he asked if we could stop in again HA! I think he is going to go back to Germany not talking about work, but Connie's amazing donuts. I live in Portland and donut joints are all rage trying to make these crazy, weird funky donuts and charge you an exorbitant amount for it. My issue with that is why messup something that is already notoriously great. Connie sticks to the original script and does it to perfection, and therefore I would say she may have the best donuts in the Northwest. Do not change anything Connie, you are fabulous and doing it right. read more

I was impressed by this small local donut shop. Very clean both front and back of store. Service was great and friendly. I needed a dozen and she picked out a nice assortment for $17. Just tried my first donut from Connie's after hearing about it for years. I went there because of the reviews but it wasn't what I was hoping for. Very nice service but not worth the trip.

I think this might be my second review. Good service, good cake donuts and the specialty ones are really great.

Small shop, has good parking and good selection. Doughnuts don't taste like your average grocery store doughnut. I think if we had gone earlier they would have been even better. The apple turnover was my favorite thing read more

Grew up blocks from here. Delicious, consistent, friendly owner. Top 3 in Tacoma with Pao and Le Donut.

Don't settle for mediocre donuts, come to Connie's. As much as it benefits me to keep Connie's hush hush (only so many tasty donuts to go around), the people of Tacoma deserve to know that these are the best of the city. We've had apple fritters, any and everything maple, apple filled, raspberry filled, old fashioned, etc. The donuts are SO FRESH, even early afternoon. I've taken them to worthy people and they all have admitted that Connie's makes a mean donut. Right now my go to is the creme-filled maple. YUM Treat yourself. read more

I highly recommend the maple bacon & bear claws. They also have delicious flaky turnovers

I couldn't stop at Connie's when it first opened because the building it's in was this weird, sweet, untouched retro house with storefront attached. When the building was sold, they tore all the charm off the building, slapped aluminum siding on it, tore out all the strange yard art out of the side courtyard, and I was heartbroken. That was almost five years ago. I finally decided to try the donuts because I am a donut diver as well as a a diner diver...if there is sugar coma-inducing goodness to be had, I must know. We bought a dozen for about $10, which I thought was fair for the quality. I've listed our samples from most favorite to least: This buttermilk custard filled was good: large, moist, (http://s3-media2.ak.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/_J81oGhoXiI6QJaBEK_tzw/l.jpg) and I have to say, not the most common donut one will find. The pumpkin cake donut (http://s3-media3.ak.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/neeuOo6iS4WJjEx-qKSD6w/l.jpg) was moist as well, and I think some people will be in heaven - but it's a very particular taste. It's very heavy on the nutmeg and lighter on the pumpkin flavor. Cake donuts and crullers were solid, but not revelatory. (http://s3-media4.ak.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/twpbfeOtRuicGT3TFHV8Lw/l.jpg) Chocolate donuts we sampled were a bit cloying: (http://s3-media4.ak.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/D1XbAIsPj7mavrNJYJ_B5g/l.jpg) I will still go to Pao's in Tacoma first, Le Donut or Dockyard second...and might stop here if in the neighborhood. Connie's is good for a neighborhood shop, but not a destination stop if you're a fried dough aficionado. 9/30 read more
