Banana pudding
Cat R.

By far the best cake I have EVER had. Listen, I am too lazy and too busy to leave reviews, HOWEVER, I don't understand how there are only 2 reviews on this place! One of those Instagram food influencer should be notified to rate this place. My family of five came in today and bought the strawberry crunch and husband had to get another one because we killed it. We ended up buying three! We also got the banana pudding cup, sweet potatoes cheesecake, and carrot cake. All had the perfect texture, MOIST, and level of sweetness. You know how some places be HELLA sweet and some have zero sweetness, this place has the perfect balance.

I know they do not have regular open hours for just walk in purchase, but rather, they're custom order type business, but I have yet to place any custom orders so I cannot speak to that experience. What made me write this review is how accurate the owner (Brianne) described cake and desserts in the description and the baked goods taste matched 200% of the description. The pistachio cake was out of the world, so was the whoopie pie!!! I got to meet Brianne in person and she was very friendly, and was kind to explain everything about each of her baked goods she had out that day. I've tried their baked goods from pop tarts to cookies to housemade Twinkie and the creation and taste are unmatched. Single serve baked goods were more on pricier side, but well worth every bite. I would definitely order custom baked goods from here, knowing the quality and taste of products from this shop!!! Currently, you can find Spilled Butter baked goods at Cosmonaut coffee, Outer Dark Coffee, and at Tacoma Farmers Market (also known as Tacoma Broadway Farmers Market) from time to time. Enjoy!!!

** Array of pastry, espresso, and breakfast options** **I…read moregrew up watching 10 things I hate about you and it reminds me of a place that Kat would go to** This is one of my favorite spots in Tacoma to get a breakfast sandwich. Typically get the jalapeño sausage breakfast sandwich. The bread is super soft, the sausage has a nice flavor, and there isn't too much egg. It also come served warm which makes it yummy. I'm also a bit picky when it comes to coffee and how it's made. Corina does a GREAT cappuccino. It's strong without a bitter taste to it. Also like to get one of their macarons-they never disappoint!

The floral arrangements and product displays were clearly designed with great care. All the items are wrapped in plastic wrap to keep them fresh. The shop is quite spacious, and the interesting paintings on the walls really leave an impression. All of this plays a huge role in building up their customer base. Service: The signage inside is clear, and everyone lines up in an orderly way. The staff is warm and welcoming, and they even asked if I wanted my bread warmed up. The order came out very fast--overall, a great service experience. Taste: I ordered two pastries: an almond croissant and a chocolate croissant. The almond croissant was packed with ingredients, with a thick, rich layer of processed almond filling in the middle. The texture was great--highly recommended! However, the chocolate croissant was a total disaster!!! My first bite was actually satisfying; the chocolate flavor and texture were rich. But on my second bite, I realized... it was underbaked. So disappointing.

We were looking for a bakery to get good whole grain bread. You know the homemade bread with 12…read moregrains and good rye, that is better than the institutionalized bread. So as my go to guide I yelped it! And up popped Kusher Bakery. You know I had to go and today we went there. It's an Eastern European bakery, and grocery store with products from multiple Eastern Europe countries. The selections are very good and then there is the bread baked daily except on Sunday. A bonus is the fact all the fresh baked bread can be sliced for you or you can take it home and slice it yourself. Having this service is great. Dark rye, 12-grain, and others that are....... well too many and all looked delicious. There is fresh baked Lavash, soft and delicious and many of the breads were still warm and fresh. The fresh piroshki! Awesome to say the least, Chicken, Cheese, Cabbage, and Apricot were available and hot. Look you can go to the other market on 70th and get very good stuff and pay quite a lot more, or go to Kusher and get a better selection and pay reasonable prices. Yes it is smaller but bigger is not always better and having this small place is a positive. For me Kusher wins hands down. So go, look around and get some awesome stuff.
