The customer service was very nice and the cakes are just stunning. But they taste like Costco :( not sure what they are doing. Maybe using high fructose corn syrup instead of sugar? They were also dry. Super sugary, I can't explain except it was like what you'd get at Safeway or Costco. A friend of mine tried two flavors I purchased, and we both agreed. I will absolutely come to them for all my cake needs in the future. My daughter wanted an Emo cake for her birthday. This is the email I sent them without the pictures... She would like an EMO cake. Black chocolate "frosting" on black chocolate cake. With a strawberry purée between the layers so it looks like it is bleeding when you cut it open. With an EMO Grimace (purple guy from McDonalds). See the attached photos: A cake of chocolate on chocolate as deep brown or black as you can get it with (strawberry/blackberry/raspberry whichever is easiest) compote. The out side would be a purple sided black topped cake with the Grimace with the boys emo hair. I hope I'm describing this right. They sent me back a mock up and it was amazing. I had to move up the date a whole week due to an ordering mishap by her dad and they accommodated the request with no problems. The studio was amazingly clean and bright/cheery. Pick up was easy and the cake was packed so as it didn't move for the whole hour it had to travel. May daughter absolutely loved the cake and it was absolutely delicious. We found this place by chance, we were browsing the bookstore next door and we couldn't resist a slice of cake. We bought a marble eclair mini cake, red velvet mini cake and a slice of the regular chocolate vanilla marble cake. Wasn't inexpensive, I think it was $25 for those three things, the mini cakes are good for two people to share though. I am a fan of a more dense cake and these are perfect. They're dense but light at the same time if that makes sense. I loved the marble cake the most but the other two were delicious. My next birthday cake is going to be from this bakery for sure.
