Never even knew this place existed, but so glad my daughter suggested the place! My wife was in town, and we wanted to visit my daughter and all the Grandbubbies, and she picked the place. This place has trails, a playground, restaurant, and of course... a coffee and pastry/sweet shoppe! The majestic view of Mt. Rainier was absolutely breathtaking! Fika is such a cute place! There are plenty of places to sit, inside or outside on the patio next to the water feature. There was a line out the door, which I'm told is pretty normal, but it moves fast. Prices are a little high ($9 for a regular pb&j), but for coffee and pastries, it's fair. I ordered the almond croissant and a maple brown sugar latte, my sister got the bacon and goat cheese galette. The coffee, I'll be honest, was not my favorite, it wasn't bad though. The star was the almond croissant, oh man was it delicious, it had the best flavor and was perfectly flakey. I was east of Puyallup on a Saturday morning and thought, "Hey, I'm going to find a bakery I've never been to!". A quick search found Fika, very promising ratings and I'm partial to Swedish baked goods since I spend time in Sweden every year. Fika is located inside Farm12, a huge complex that even contains a school so, why not a coffee shop? When I arrived, the line was a good 30 feet out the door. Even more promising. After 20 minutes, I made it inside and got to look at the extensive selection of pastries and more. All of them looked pretty good though the only nod to Swedish baking was a cardamom bun (and one tart that also contained cardamom). The rest were standard baked goods and a few specialties for the month. Counter staff (Finn) was very helpful. I ordered a Farm12 mocha, almond croissant, and the aforementioned cardamom bun. The mocha was well made, perfect temp, and tasty. The cardamom bun dough was underproofed, dense, and gummy. Good flavor and looks. Almond croissant was buttery and flaky like you'd expect. I personally prefer my almond filling added after baking as it doesn't moisten the inside as much. Overall, this is a good addition to the area, nice people, seems well run, and handy if at the nearby park and trail. Just don't go in thinking Swedish in any way. read more

Came in to grab some pastries. I really wanted to try their puff pockets. I got the strawberry and the maple brown sugar. I really enjoyed them. The maple grown sugar had a much bigger air pocket compared to the strawberry where the pastry was pretty flush to the jam inside. Both had great flavor. I couldn't tell you which I preferred since they're so different. I also got a morning bun which was a little hard when not warmed up. It had a little citrus flavor to it. Food: There were many different options and they all looked divine. I opted for something sweet this morning with my coffee. I really enjoyed the fruit and the cream portion but the cake was a little dense but still tasty. I did ask for my order to "for here," but was given a plastic container. Service: there was a huge line when we got there but it moved fairly quickly for a smaller station. I did have to wait some time for my ice black Americano but it was understandable. This is a lovely and huge cafe connected to the Farm 12 restaurant. On a weekend morning it gets packed with the line snaking out the door. The location is very nicely situated in a little rustic oasis, across the street from Foothills Trail and next to a field of lupine that bloom into a purple blanket during spring. The cafe has a beautiful case of pastries. The morning o went they had cookies, cakes, scones, croissants, morning buns, cinnamon buns, cream puffs, and more. They have sweet and savory items, and a gram and go case. The drink menu is extensive, from coffee to tea and with special drinks varying with the season. The prices are about higher than your typical cafe but it's because they make most things in house with fresh ingredients. Today I got the special black sesame matcha latte ($7.50, 12 oz), my friends a lavender oat milk latte, and a a marmalade chai latte. Each drink comes out beautifully with latte art and at the perfect temperature. My black forest cream puff ($5) was beautiful but the cherry chocolate cream filling was a tad too sweet and tart. My friend's croissant was large, buttery, and super flaky - very Parisian. I think this was $5ish too. There are a lot of tables well spaced out. They have several really strong heaters so it can actually get real warm inside. It also looked like a lot of people were meeting here for get togethers or group meetings, as the space is comfortable, warm, and welcoming. Great for families too. Also free wifi! I've given this place a few more chances and although it's not a place that I would RAVE about, I do really like it. They have really great and unique specialty drinks, sometimes they're a hit sometimes they're a miss bit that's up to personal preference. Usually I get a warm latte, you can taste the syrups better that way, but I risked it this time and I got the coconut limeade (I hate lemonade so idk what I was thinking) but I LOVED it, very refreshing. Their pastries are superb, although pricy I do admit. My go to is the pecan roll. The line is usually pretty long but there's still seating most of the time. There are weddings in the same area so if you come at the same time as a wedding the line will be longer. The baristas are really sweet and helpful with their recommendations. Cars in every space possible for a couple blocks plus the various parking lots with a line that didn't let up (ordering coffee, pastries etc) the entire 90 mins. I was there. At least with the added seating that wasn't an issue. I could help but wonder how much money this place alone is pulling in on just one day if my med. plain ice coffee and a scone was just over $12!! I didn't like that you have to wait for your drink and food items separately, didn't make sense. The cold brew was good, the blackberry sage scone was very different.... the outer area was more savory similar to thanksgiving sage cornbread until you get the sweet jam center. It was oddly good. Wanted to try a cookie but at $5 I couldn't. $6 was bad enough for both the coffee and scone. I'll be back, great for meeting a friend. read more

I already enjoy Farm 12, so when I saw they had done a separate coffee shop, I was excited to try it out. I love the seating area, because it's very spacious and gets great light. I do wish the layout was different because you come into the cafe to order, and while that's pretty roomy, the doorway between each space is actually kind of tight if you're waiting to pick up your order and others are sitting or walking through. It's my first time visiting the Farm 12 area in Puyallup. My friend and I met up at Fika to catch up over coffee. She ordered a Farm 12 mocha, and I ordered a matcha latte. If you order "for here" they give your hot drink to you in a café mug. The inside is so spacious with plenty of tables and seating. They offer free WiFi, so my friend and I were able to bring our laptops to check work emails and join a meeting. The inside is large, so sound travels and echos. It's great for writing, emails, reading and such but it gets loud with everyone talking that I wouldn't recommend for meetings. The staff are super friendly and quick with your drinks. We got hungry and also grabbed a turkey honey mustard wrap with a string cheese on the side. The wrap was kind of soggy in the container, but it tasted good. Overall, I would come back to Fika when I visit Farm 12 again, and it's a cool place to work for a day if needed. read more

Ordered a iced americano with 4 employees behind the counter. Took 15 min to get it. It wasn't even busy. I was watching the barista make the drink and I was bothered to see they don't rinse the espresso handles off with hot water in between pulling shots. Simply tapping the grinds out isn't sufficient. I was a barista for years and I was surprised to see the short cuts and bad shots being pulled and then wondering why it took so long for a simple iced drink. I have been coming to this bakery since it opened. I have always enjoyed it except for the last few visits. It has become very crowded and they need more staff during busy times. They might need to simply expand the coffee bar. Also, they have moved the chairs around, getting rid of sofas. That isn't a big deal except that the chairs need some kind of padding on the bottom of the legs because they scrape on the concrete and there is constant motion. I don't think I will return until school starts again. I like kids, but mothers and fathers do not keep control of them and it becomes a noisy nuisance. With the high ceilings and all of the noise, it makes the experience somewhat unpleasant. I don't expect the quiet of a tea room, but this is beyond my patience. I appreciated that they had several gf offerings and purchased a gf muffin and scone for my mom. I was slightly bummed that they didn't have anything gf that was chocolate. I'm not sure if they ever do, just didn't when i was there. I also got a pb cookie for her husband. My friend and i got a seasonal (pumpkin) cheesecake and slice of the peanut butter cake to share. The cake is pretty and tasted good- it was cold- but it felt one dimensional- maybe they could do some cream cheese in the frosting to give it a tang. It is good but missing something. I have had the chance to try a few different items, including their Cuban coffee (AMAZING), lattes, galletes, and various bakery treats, and I have to say, every single item has been delicious. Over all coffee taste was great, downside, I waited 40 mins. Someone took my coffee by mistake and I waited for a long time before I had to approach the barista. The cutest little barnyard hidden gem in Puyallup. Farm 12 has it all. I've been here for brunch many times (totally recommend) and discovered that they have a whole cafe and bakery tucked away. As someone who works from home, coffee shops have been like my second home. This place is not too far from me (Federal Way based) at all and super spacious. Seats along the walls are accessible to outlets. Their wifi has never failed me. In the morning time it is pretty crowded, so if you don't mind loud noises or kids go for it. It simmers down towards the mid-morning till closing. Their lattes are good. I've had their oat latte and iced cardamom latte. The bakery is where they shine through. One of the best coffee shops ever! I've tried different lattes from Fika and all of them are amazing. The pastries have all been super delicious too. My favorite is the carrot cake and the cinnamon roll (warmed up) so far but I'm excited to try the other drinks and pastries. The espresso they use is perfect and I love how they use housemade syrups and sauces. They also sell housemade sourdough. The customer service(from the cashier to the baristas) are always really nice if I have questions or ask for recommendations.
