Locus Cafe is a new cafe spot in Tacoma that opened recently in January. There is free angled parking available in the front. However, there is limited parking and may be a bit difficult to leave since it's so small. The inside is beautifully decorated. It's a fairly good sized space and there is a bathroom for customers to use. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Mr. Locus and my sister ordered the Lavender Cream Matcha. We also ordered a Strawberry Cheesecake Crepe to share together. Everything we ordered was made in a timely manner and were delicious. The Strawberry Cheesecake Crepe is definitely on the sweeter side, so be mindful of that when you order it. It would be perfect for a sweet treat after dinner!

I needed a clean, safe place with extended indie cafe hours to hangout at before a Yelp Elite Event in Tacoma. While I was at another bakeshop in Seattle's Central District, I found Locus Cafe on the Yelp app before heading back onto I-5 South (1/21/26). Free angled parking right off of Pacific Avenue. Greeted upon entering. Nice, clean cafe interior with banquette seating, as well as, ten two tops. Upbeat vibe with the overhead music and the Valentine's Day wall and table decor. Menu has tea, matcha, espresso bevs, seasonal & house specials, energy bevs, shakes, waffles for $14.95, crepes for $12.95, and mini pancakes for $13.95. The scent for the latter three sure was enticing. There's folks having takeout orders, but others onsite are having meetups with lively convo and a few of the laptop crowd. My 16oz mocha was pretty decent. Ordering/payment was part of the Joe system, so I was able to get a dollar off from previously accrued points from another Joe participant in Bothell. Additional notes: grand opening earlier this month Jan 2026, clean bathroom with baby changing table, table board games available too. Easily could be your Third Place with their extended business hours. Great find!

this place is a cute little shop. The customer service is really good, super friendly. It's a little bit of a wait sometimes, but honestly worth it. The matcha is sweet, which I love, so it was really good for me. The pistachio mini pancakes were just right, not too heavy, really good flavor. Honestly better than other places I've tried before. I'd definitely come back.

At the Locus Cafe! Nice, clean and sleek look in this restaurant!

I love this brand new coffee shop/cafe that opened up off of Pacific. I have had my eye on the space for quite a while as far as what would move in there next. Their coffee is nice and bold. I got a vanilla latte here which I liked. I also got a bite to eat. I ordered some of their mini pancakes with pistachio nuts and sauce. They were very good and made for a nice, light breakfast. There were other mini pancake options I'd like to check out again from that menu. They have a savory menu as well which I didn't explore with at all and that will indeed mean a return trip. From the website from the business I saw they had a chicken pesto panini and I really enjoy those kinds of sandwiches very much!

Why is this a 5 star experience? Everything!!! Service- owners are extremely kind and really looking to get better and wants every bit of feedback they can get about their food, drinks and business overall. Ambiance- it's a charming decor that's well lit. Plenty of seating and clean restroom. Food and drinks- oh man. Don't even know where to start. The drinks are all hand crafted and well thought out. The BANANA PUDDING is to die for and you won't regret it. The different variations of food items are all delicious too. The Dubai chocolate is absurdly good for a place that technically doesn't specialize in it.

The staff was nice .. really cute aesthetic! I got the white chocolate matcha, in my opinion, would have been good with more white chocolate flavor. My sister got the banana pudding matcha l, which she loved! The strawberry and crème waffles was good i would say like a 6/10 of course just very sweet. We got the biscoff crepe SUPER SWEET but ofc biscoff always good.

This café is super cute and cozy -- I loved how they decorated it for the holidays, especially the festive pillows and the café sign in the back. It felt like a really inviting space to hang out, and I also liked that they had multiple board and card games available. It was nice seeing people actually playing games and enjoying the space together. That said, my drink was a bit disappointing. I ordered the Nr. Locus, but it had very little Biscoff flavor and no noticeable espresso taste -- it honestly just tasted like watery milk with little bits of biscoff cookie. I was hoping for more flavor. I also ordered the strawberry cheesecake mini pancakes, but there weren't any cheesecake bites on my dish, which I thought was strange since it said on the menu there would be. However, I do want to give credit where it's due -- the baristas were really kind and accommodating. I asked for light syrup and the white chocolate sauce on the side, and they were happy to do that. I also appreciated being able to add extra toppings; the crushed pistachios added a nice little crunch. Overall, the atmosphere and customer service were great, but the drinks and desserts didn't quite live up to expectations.

Adorable spot on one of Tacoma's main thoroughfares. We stopped in after lunch to get a coffee. It was clean and welcoming and seemed popular amongst families with kids. So don't think me weird, but I am going to show you what the bathroom with the baby diaper changer looks like because it was impressively cute. The folks behind the counter were very friendly and helpful. I got a toasted marshmallow latte and they literally toasted a marshmallow and put it on top of the cup as a finishing touch. Classy. And fun. Would return for sure!

A great place to get crêpes, waffles, and drinks! Super friendly service, this place exceeded my expectations. Everything was so flavorful and they do not skip out on the toppings. The perfect amount of sweetness to satisfy your sugar tooth. I highly recommend this place and would come back!

Came to visit the shop yesterday, which on their actual website stated it opens at 9AM, well I should've went with the yelp website because it actually opens at 10AM.. no biggie though, tried again today. Got the banana pudding latte and let me tell you!! New fave. You can definitely taste the banana flavor as well as the coffee, it wasnt too sweet but sweet enough! Will be back to try other specialties.

A hidden gem! Locus provides an array of yummy drinks with a sweet clean ambiance. There's also a bunch of games that you can play with friends! The biscoff drink had me salivating. Just an fyi when ordering they'll ask if you want it made with coffee or matcha I chose matcha and I wasn't disappointed! I definitely wish there was more biscoff flavor though, towards the end the biscoff flavor wore off. The cloud matcha latte was really delicious! If you're new to matcha, and aren't fond of bitterness the cloud matcha provides the right amount of sweetness!! The lady taking our order was super sweet and attentive. The parking situation is kind of a struggle, but other than that this place is great!

    Dubai Strawberry Cup
    Aubrey B.

To start off with the cafe look and ambiance it's beautiful, clean and very homey. It smells amazing in there and I was pleasantly surprised with the variety in the menu. I live dubai strawberries and I have been to many places trying them and I'd say the one here rank somewhere in the middle. They were pretty good but the portioning was a little disappointing for the price. The crepe was delicious although I would say the chocolate is laid on a little thick I still enjoyed it! The reason I'm giving a 4 instead of a 5 is due to the fact the service was very slow for how empty it was. I went in November when it was pretty new but I still expected it to be somewhat faster. Also, for anyone going the PARKING can be extremely miserable.

I used to visit the Sacramento location, so it was a nice surprise seeing one nearby. My review is mainly for the desserts since I still haven't tried the coffee yet (though I'm sure it's probably great too since they're known for their Yemeni coffee). The menu seems very similar to the Sacramento location, but I'm giving 4 stars because they don't carry the one dessert I've been seriously craving: Turkish delight! The Sacramento location has it and I was definitely hoping to grab some here but I didn't see any on display or on the menu :( The milk cakes were thankfully just as good and super consistent between locations. We ordered the pistachio milk cake and the caramel milk cake (different pricing, depending on flavor probably). Both were incredibly moist, flavorful, and just really delicious. If you've never tried the milk cakes here, I definitely recommend them. They taste high quality, for sure, and a perfect treat for a sweet tooth. I had my husband try one for the first time since he likes caramel, and he immediately said it tasted so fancy he felt like he should be sticking his pinky out while eating it lol. I told him it *is* around $10 a slice, after all. We stopped by on a weekday afternoon and the parking lot was busy and the café itself was packed, so it definitely seems like a popular spot. They also have a points rewards program you can sign up for with just your phone number. I'll definitely be back for sweets again.

The breakfast sandwiches are so good! Fresh cooked eggs and biscuits. The biscuits are so flaky and light and good!! The bottom is soft, but the tops have a crisp to them. I got the sausage egg and cheese. The egg was cooked perfectly, biscuit was superior to a lot of biscuits I've had in restaurants and the gochujang aioli on top was the perfect compliment!! It wasn't spicy, but still added so much flavor. I had a special soda made by Marisa with lime, mint, lychee and soda water. Very simple, but very satisfying and not overly sweet. The chairs are comfortable and there's ample seating. The booths have outlets at each table area which makes it super convenient for laptops and chargers. The crowd is mixed.
