I've visited quite a few times and each experience has been pretty inconsistent. I've tried to get some a few times and they've sold out after having to wait a while, or sold out well before end time. I've also been where there has been no line and a short wait. Employees are friendly. The best malasadas seem to be the plain unfilled ones (best just while warm and fresh, must eat immediately). The fillings tend to be light on flavor and consistencies range (sometimes too liquidy, but generally stable). The ube is the biggest draw, but every time has been really purple but barely any ube flavor. Haupia (coconut) is okay, tastes a bit artificial. Biscoff was too sweet and a bit runny. There's not too much competition for malasadas so they are one of the spots to go to, but I do wish the fillings held up to the quality of the dough. read more

I'm so glad that they were not too far from my place! I just love their little food truck. The pink color makes it stand out from the others and that it is a tinier, too. This was our first time here and after seeing all the reviews about the Ube malasadas, I wanted to try that one. Come to find out, their menu changes weekly!!! This is what they told us, which is pretty cool! So, that wasn't an option. But instead, we bought the coconut, guava, and ube filled malasadas. And of course, had to get a couple of the plain malasadas. The first one I had to try was the ube filled! This was so good! The ube filling wasn't sweet, instead lite, creamy and yummy!! So good! As for the dough of the malasadas, nice, warm, soft and just melts in your mouth! You must try GoodBelly! I have never had malasadas before and I am so glad that my first time experience was through Good Belly as the malasadas here are absolutely delicious. It almost feels like you're eating a cloud with how fluffy and light the dough is! I was worried it was be overly sweet but the amount of sugar and filling isn't excessive. So far, we have had their plain, POG, chocolate, and ube mochi-sadas. Our personal favorite has to be the ube mochi-sadas as it is just an explosion of ube flavor while being super light. The staff as well as the owner is great about communication. I have called, texted, and spoke in person with them and always had a pleasant and professional response. They clearly care for their customers and ensure that you leave happy. It also seems like they are quite popular and well-loved by people from not only Auburn but all over in Washington, as there was a line forming more than 30 minutes before opening, so plan ahead especially for limited edition items that they share on Facebook or Instagram. The truck has clear and concise menu on their truck, which is great as sometimes other trucks have multiple plastered everywhere when there might be one main menu at the ordering station. I would have given them five stars but felt that if you're advertising malasadas then you need to have at least one filling that is something you'd get in the islands, either guava, passion fruit or something like that. Tried for the first time. I tried three different kinds. Here is what I think about these. - Ube filled: sweet, slight ube flavor but super soft and fluffy - Chocolate filled: super sweet, artificial chocolate cream flavor (would pass on this next time), also super fluffy and soft dough - Plain: same as the others. Super soft and fluffy fried dough covered in sugar and no filling When I ordered, I thought it was premade for them to put in box and give me right away but they didn't. You have to wait a little bit. I did not know and I was in a hurry so I was a bit irritated. Reason for 4 star instead of 5 was combination of price ( 3 for $10) and that I had to wait. I ordered 3 and took about 5 mins. Some other people were waiting and their orders were still being processed. Just don't go when u're in a hurry. Would I go again? Maybe when I can get timing correct and I am not in a hurry which might be almost never read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and happened to open Instagram on a Friday night when I saw that they were having their grand reopening the next day. They were also offering a discount to the first 20 customers so I decided it was now or never. I showed up about 20 minutes before they were scheduled to open and managed to be within the first 20 to line up. They opened a few minutes past 12, but the line moved fairly quickly and people were getting their malasadas without too much of a wait. I got a half dozen plain and half dozen mixed filled with the flavor options that day being chocolate, Bavarian cream, and ube. I brought them home to share with my family and we devoured the entire dozen within 24 hours. I personally love the plain, but I have never been a filled donut fan, though I could see how people could love them. I found that the filled malasadas didn't really have much in terms of filling, so you could probably get all the filling in one bite if you bit near the hole that the cream is coming out of. If you're looking to see if the filled ones are worth the price, I would say that the caveat is that they're hand filled so some maybe super stuffed while others not full at all. I must remind you that I am not a filled doughnut fan, but I do think the chocolate was probably my favorite out of the three. The Bavarian cream is what you would expect, and the ube was surprisingly legit, with a ton of flavor, despite the amount of filling. The plain ones were nicely golden brown on the outside and very fluffy and chewy on the inside. They truly were perfect and I could see myself getting these again. read more

TL;DR: can't get any better than warm and fresh! This truck is just so elusive! Generous dough to filling ratios. Location: rotating locations -- follow the social media account for schedules. There is a second truck in the works but it isn't running quite yet! Generally Kent, Kirkland, Bothell, Everett areas so far and some small food festivals. Menu: rotating flavors -- follow the social media account for updates! I have yet to try that elusive creme brulee flavor! Mochi Ube: Limited edition malasada. Not filled but I enjoyed the light and chewy texture of this one. It is very lightly sweetened which is perfect but I do wish there was more of an ube flavor punch. If you ever see "mochi" available, get one to try it out! You can't go wrong with any of the filling flavors really. They all have a lovely custard texture and lightly sweetened flavor. I do have to say the lilikoi was my favorite but I do wish it was slightly more tangy. The chocolate is really good too. Warm fluffy, delicious malasadas that are definitely worth the hype! Similar to a beignet and better than a donut these malasadas are the softest type of donut and the flavors are insanely good! Every week or so the flavors change so check their insta for updates. Guava has been my favorite, Ube a close second, Bavarian cream is pretty good, but I'm dyeing to try the lilikoi cheesecake or blueberry cheesecake next! Show up early! The line can sometimes get very long and they'll post on their insta when they sell out. They show up almost all week long around Washington so you have plenty of opportunities to find them and I've managed to get a box with no line 3 times now! Eat Fast Kine after receiving!!! BRAH.....all the feels of back home in the 808. Recently GoodBelly came to Redmond and visited the Jerry Baker Velodrome. They've been on my list for quite some time, just time never matched and location never did. But as with many things, it was meant to be and finally, the DAY CAME. Yes there was a line, a consistent one and but not huge. I've read about the long waits and it was concerning, but somehow they seem to have remedied that without any perceived lack of quality. My order was ready within 5 minutes, with warrrrrrrm goodness emanating from the box and that lovely look of some oil seeping through it. Theres nothing better then a warm malasada by the beach, in your hot boiling car, at the local swap meet, or at the Velodrome. I didn't mind waiting but if you pre-order, it's probably best to come closer to your pick up time as they make them fresh. I ordered the plain and they were very warm, fluffy and had ample sugar coating on them. The plain ones, I'd give it a solid 3 star as I've had better and I wasn't a huge fan of the sugar coating- though subtle, it has a slight aftertaste. Best eaten the day of while warm. read more

I've been wanting to try GoodBelly for such a long time now, and I finally took the time to go out to Everett to try and get some malasadas. We found Goodbelly's truck at a night market, and got in line waiting for them to reopen after a break. There were a ton of people waiting with us! They have signage outside so you can decide how many malasadas and what flavors you want while you wait. My friend and I decided to get a 6 pack of the bavarian creme and lilikoi cheesecake flavors. These malasadas were so good, the outside was fried perfectly so every bite was crisp, and they were covered well in sugar. The fillings were really good too, the lilikoi cheesecake was a great balance of sweet and tart and the flavor of the bavarian creme was great as well. If anything, I would've liked a bit more filling, but the exterior of the malasada is so good it didn't really matter that much. A 6 pack came out to around $20 I think, which is a bit on the pricier side but the taste of these did not disappoint. I totally regret not getting more! read more

I'm originally from Hawai'i and have had many malasadas in my life, and these Goodbelly malasadas take me home with every bite! Soft pillows of heaven that have the perfect balance of a thin crisp shell, moist and chewy interior, and sweet but not too sweet. And surprisingly not too oily either. Personally I like them plain with no filling, but there are all kinds of filling flavors like raspberry, ube, bavarian cream, etc. depending on the day. They are best enjoyed when hot and straight from the box when you get your order. However, even when cold you just need to zap it in the microwave for several seconds and you're back in the islands! If there is a drawback to this food truck it's that it's too popular. They make each order fresh, so the lines can be 50+ people long with over 90 minutes of waiting. Sometimes the owner will post late in the afternoon that she is still open and has some left (which is how I got mine), but I know this strategy won't work every time as she sells out often. This place has been on my radar for quite some time now but since they are mostly in Everett, I haven't tried them yet. I was lucky enough for them to come down for Redmond last night so I knew this was my chance! We came about 5 minutes before they opened and there was already a line of about 15 people ahead of us. There was definitely a wait as people were ordering dozens...I felt bad since I ordered only a few but since I haven't tried them before I didn't want to risk buying a lot. I ended up getting one plain, one Bavarian cream and one ube filled. They were made fresh to order so they came warm and delicious. My favorite was probably the plain just because it was already good without the cream :). If I had to choose between the two filled ones though, ube all the way, it had an earthy flavor and not too sweet. These are probably one of the best malasadas I had in a really long time. The texture was perfect. The price was also fair at around $2.50-3.50 each or it's cheaper if you get half dozen or full dozens. The people was really nice and gave me an extra one since I did end up waiting for a bit (big orders before me). Malasada flavors are hit and miss, so choose wisely. I come here often bc I love malasadas...but I only like the tropical flavors (lilikoi-passionfruit, haupia-coconut, guava). Got to my car and was missing three of them :( line was extremely long to go back, I decided to just take the loss. Even better than Leonard's in HI. I was born and raised on Oahu and I've had a lot of malasadas while I lived there. But I find Goodbelly's malasadas the most enjoyable. I love how she plays with different and unique flavors that are executed perfectly . The malasadas are crispy on the outside, perfectly coated in sugar and not oily(which is PERFECTION). The dough is cooked well and not heavy or doughy in texture. 10/10, definitely worth driving up to Everett for. She also has pop ups in Seattle and some other surrounding cities and she releases her weekly schedule and menu every Tuesday on her IG. She sells out fairly quickly so it's best to get to her truck within the first hour of her opening (earlier is best if you can). Wait time from when you order at the window is approximately 15-20 mins. However waiting in line can be long if you come late. It's totally worth the wait. Go get some! read more

I worked really hard to get these, once showing up to a location after driving 25 minutes to find the truck closed and a sold out sign (they did not indicate this on their social). This time I ordered ahead and when checking out it asked me to select a pickup time and the pickup times didn't align with their hours they were scheduled to be at the site. I picked 2pm as they were to be there until 3 but then the email I got said pickup 11:45am. That time did not work for me so I went with the 2pm I had originally selected. I got a text a few minutes before 2 saying pickup was 11-2, I told them I could be there in 10 and headed out. When I got there they were filling fresh malasadas with my fillings and the wait was maybe 1 minute. I got them home hot and fresh and expected so much. I was grossly disappointed. Yes, I am Hawaiian. Yes I lived in Hawaii. Yes I know what malasadas are and have had a variety of them from Leonard's famous to the manapua truck rolling down the street. A malasada is not hard to make, the filling is all the difference. Unfortunately all three of these had fillings akin to snack pack pudding, the chocolate tasting as if it were right out of the container. The almost neon color of the other fillings (ube and guava) were a bit jarring and the flavor wasn't enough to justify continuing to eat them. I'm happy they have such a following however if you want to try a better filled malasada try General Porpoise "doughnuts" which are basically the same thing with much better (more elevated) fillings.
